Has anyone else noticed that in smallville world when people fall of a building they fall without screaming or frailing about? This is the second time we saw someone falling just staring up to the sky. No real panic or anything. Firs time was Lana being thrown over the building by that movie guy (Forget his name). And now lional just staring up as he falls.
Other then that i did enjoy the episode.
Just a thought.

I did think it was weird when Lana did it...but for Lionel it seemed more fitting. He's not a screamer. ;)

I havent seen the entire episode, just a clip of the fall.
If Lionel screamed, it would be weird.
He seemed to embrace what was happening to him.
The Lionel we all know and love.

^I agree. He accepted what was going to happen but his smile leads me to think that even though he realised how evil Lex had become, he also knew that someone - Clark - will always be there to stop him.

I said this somewhere else. It was reminiscent of Obi-Wan allowing Vader to kill him and accepting his fate. It was a dignified death. Fitting for Lionel and for Jor-El's Vessel.

Lana was probably about to scream until she saw Clark jump over the building.

I agree.
A fitting end to a fine character.

At first I thought perhaps he knew something we didn't. However now I think that he knows he has come full circle.
Luthors never wince...even at death.

Lionel looks so cool when he falls, he just looks straight at Lex when he falls. Creepy.

Why would they scream? It's not like it's going to save them.
No but really, I've fallen from a window once. Though it was only stories high, it's the same concept. I was so scared that I didn't make a noise, I just fell.

Maybe he though Clark would catch him, that is quite sad.

It wasn't like Lionel was grinning. It could be interpreted I suppose as smile but it so subtle that they could have easily just rushed things, and John Glover was trying to hold in laughter from something Tom Welling or Michael Rosenbaum said on set before he shot that scene.
