No Chloe threads yet, so here's one! I'm very proud of Chloe for standing strong against Lex even when he fired her. I'm glad she said something along the lines of I wanted to get out of that black hole anyway. And now I'm just hoping she'll expose Lex for killing Lionel, he'll get sent to jail, Perry White will come back in to be Editor and Chloe will be hired back! :D
What do you guys think?

I can hear some going "Chloe is going to die, don't hold your breath"

BUT I'm not one of them, I agree :D

Gosh why didn't Lex kill Chloe!? Just kidding, but I do think Chloe deserves another job. Instead of being a journalist, why not just be a full-time watchtower? :D:cool:

I don't think she deserves another job, I think she's great at the DP, just not with Lex there!

But I think she should be full-time watchtower working for Oliver. Who knows, maybe Oliver and Chloe will being to fall in love and start humming w/ each other. Forget Jimmy, it's Chliver time!

Chliver? Ugh. Chlollie!

I don't think we'll ever see Chloe working as a journalist again. We'll have to wait and see, I guess.

Oliver has his blond Sidekick, Clark made sure of that ;) Besides Clark wants Chloe to be his sidekick, no one else's. "Find people, go ahead but NOT CHLOE!"

I don't think we'll ever see Chloe working as a journalist again. I disagree. I think she'll go back when the Planet is back to where Truth is important.

Chlollie? COOL! It'll be fun, hot and sexy. Just imagine Clark comes into Chloe's room seeing her making out w/ Ollie. That would've been very very interesting and funny to watch.

I disagree. I think she'll go back when the Planet is back to where Truth is important.

If the "Truth" was that important to her, she would have left the Daily Planet on her own terms and started working for another newspaper, the minute Lex decided to buy it.

I have to say that I agree. She didn't leave the DP on her own terms. In fact, she was very much concerned about keeping her job up until this episode. And, even while Lex was grilling her, she sucked up to him. "Oh, Lex, I'm so sorry about your father..."

And when Lex fires her, she has no reaction... until he won't let her clear out her personal effects. Her main problem was not being fired or anything - she was more concerned about what sort of incriminating evidence she left in her desk. Her angry lecture to Lex was pretty hollow because Lex owns her desk and she was kind of stupid to leave anything important there. What is she even going to do to him? He kidnapped her and almost killed her mom... and she did nothing. Why on earth is him finding something in her desk and not mailing it to her going to push her over the edge and make her take Lex down? It doesn't add up, so she doesn't look all that convincing or intimidating when she yells at him as she's being dragged out of the DP.

At this stage, her biggest concern is going to be that Clark/JL have lost the connection to the DP server and it's going to be harder for her to hack into government files, etc. No more "I just had someone fast track my password and now, from the basement of the DP, I have access to ALL the world's power, Clark!"

I love seeing her get fired up over Lex, but I want to see that kind of fire in her all the time. I hate to say it, but that's the one thing I love about EDLo, she's always on, all the time

It's sounds like an interesting episode for Chloe and I'm looking forward to seeing how they resolve the DP situation in Sleeper.

That's true for everyone at the Planet.

quick question about Chloe, Jimmy and Lois

why wouldn't one of them back up that picture to a USB drive or something? Although i guess they might have, but you think that chick would have thought about that when she threw them into the cooler

So much for "Chloe fired from the DP which only steps up her crusade to expose his crimes"

Yeah right!. Lex was obviously worried by Chloe's "threat" and Chloe, well she is really after Lex on Sleeper...no wait..on the next episode after that...NO wait...my bad, On QUest..

maybe she'll start doing all of that on the Isis computers since Lana is catatonic

Well she already did in "Descent". But I wish Isis was never created just because if Chloe got fired, then Clark would have to step up his game and do his own research.

I loved Chloe in Descent. All the acting was great, though kind of weirds me out how Jimmy became the genius in Lois' presence, and is still bitter about getting Chloe away from Clark.

Loved the Chlex scene. And the Chlark loft scene. My 2 fav Chloe lines of the night:

Chloe: "I swear to God Lex if anything is missing you won't hear the end of it!"
Chloe: "Total absence of love. Some say that's the definition of evil."

Then Lois' line to Jimmy: "Chloe and I share the same DNA."

Great episode all around. It almost felt like a season finale. MR was awesome in it too.

I disagree, I think we'll see this played up in "Sleeper", which is heavily Chloe centered and "Quest", since Chloe is one of the four leads in it.

Could we not say the same of Lois? Or Jimmy? Both of whom, despise Lex, and neither of which have chosen to quit when Lex bought out the Planet. Unless Chloe has printed false information in any of her articles, then I don't see how that means the truth isn't important to her.

That depends, were you really expecting it all to happen within the course of one episode? She was only fired in the second half of Descent, and it's obvious that Clark, Jimmy, Lois, and Chloe were all working in the episode to solve Lionel's death. Chloe and Clark both know now that Lex committed the murder, but with the evidence destroyed they can't prove it, yet. So what makes you think now that Chloe knows Lex murdered his father, she isn't going to step up her game in the upcoming episodes?

True. At least for now, Chloe's sort of filing Lana's boots, except imo doing a better job at it. It was kind of funny to see her sitting at the one little ISIS computer when Clark walks in, and then a Clark/Chloe loft scene pep talk at the end of the episode, rather than a Clark/Lana one. Loved that Clark and Chloe got through the long dark night to see a new day.
