I'm disappointed that it looks that they have killed off Gina, she is Smallville's version of Mercy Graves. She did Lex's dirty work and appeared to have a crush on Lex. I wonder if Lex would be bothered by her death. Who is the mystery guy who offed Gina? Maybe there was someone else working with Lionel to protect the traveler. Heh Lois' "boy crush" remark was funny, those two were great once again, I love watching them work together. Sweet how Jimmy had his arm around Lois when they were freezing and close to death. He was talking to her about how this wasn't the end for them, that he could see both of them making it big in the future, two rising stars at the Daily Planet. Foreshadowing the future, I loved it.

No they weren't flirting at all, as for Jimmy and Chloe, I have no idea what's going on there. Jimmy made another comment when he was with Lois about how Chloe is always attached to Clark.

Lionel left it in Chloe's desk after the scene he had with her in Veritas. But after she discovers it, Lex comes in and finds it, then fires her.

"Descent" takes place on the same day as the events in "Veritas" by the way.

So, rather than handing Clark valuable evidence that proves Lex's role in Patricia's death, or hiding the valuable necklace and leaving directions in Kryptonian (which he can now write), Lionel just dumps this stuff wherever?

Actually Lionel did leave him a message. There was a scene where Clark goes up to Lionel's office to investigate his death. Clark rips off the door of his vault and discovers a cylindrical Kryptonian object which reads: "To Kal-El, in the event of my death." After he twists it and plays with it for a few seconds, a beam of light comes out of one end (actually it looked like a Kryptonian flashlight :p) Anyways Clark points it on the wall of the office and sees a message in Kryptonian addressed to him from Lionel. I don't remember exactly what it said word for word, but basically it was Lionel saying that he lived to protect Clark and now that he was dead there was nobody left to protect him. He also tells him about the two lockets that contain keys which open up a box in Zurich, and that in that box is the key to controlling Clark.

I know, I don't really get it either. Maybe he felt the key was no longer safe in his possession so in his desperation he left it in Chloe's desk? The only person he could trust with the key? Other than Clark of course, because as we saw in Veritas Clark never gave him a chance.

Well, he tried to hand it directly to Kal El, and then he tried to give it to Chloe directly. Neither of them would listen to him. What the heck is he supposed to do, hide it somewhere no one would find it? He seemed a little desperate at the end.
