Episode Synopsis: Donna is back. She must track down The Doctor to save London from the threat of an alien emergency.

Here we go, the wait is finally over.... tonight's the night! :p
If you've seen the trailers & teasers, Season 4 looks to be very promising.

Not as much "Wow" as last night = except for THAT cameo, how the hell did that not leak?????? but bloody hell, the Doctor's back :D. 4/5, though I accidentally voted 5/5 which may just be a freudian slip. Tate wasn't that bad, in fairness and let's hope the rest of the series is decent.

Hahaha! I want an Adipose

Overall, I enjoyed the episode :) Love the doctor as usual. I gotta get used to Donna though, I am sure I will learn to like her in a couple episodes. I liked how she packed all her clothes  She is funny though and to see Rose  interesting! Aw the end..so cute.

Glad Doctor Who is back :D :D

Not as good as last years opener. But a good start.

Meh, aside from the surprise cameo I thought this episode was pretty terrible.

I HATE how childish they make Doctor Who a lot of the time... and little smiling fat creatures make characters like Sil (from "Vengeance on Varos") look like bastions of maturity.

On the bright side, Catherine Tate was NOT the worst part of the episode, so hooray for that. But still... yuuuuck. I'm almost embarrassed to show the episode to my best friend later tonight.

I loved this episode more than I thought I would. Donna was great, and compared to previous companions seems like more of a equal to the doctor and less of a tag along. I hope this continues.

I loved how donna and the doctor keep missing each other, although it got a little old after the first half hour. The adipose were great, both in how adorable they were, and the fact that the baddies this time weren't so bad. It made a nice change.

My only real complaint is we have to see yet another companions' family. I really don't want to see future eps where donna returns home and keeps visiting her mum. I thought were done with this crap.

Ha ha ha! Those Adipose looked like little fat marshmallow's! I just wanted to squeeze one! I know the episode was kind of silly, but I still enjoyed it. If you've also seen the Doctor Who Confidential for this episode, Russell Davies explains why they went with a little more of a lighthearted approach this time around.

Setting aside the annoyance factor, I may just end up liking Donna before it's all over with. Catherine Tate is a very cool comedic actress. I liked the whole "You're not mating with me sunshine!" line. Brilliant!

The cameo with Rose, shocked the hell out of me! I almost jumped out of my seat. I knew we would see her at some point later this season, but not in the actual season premiere. I also liked the actress playing the "Supernanny." She was so calm, cool, & collected. Excellent casting. As far as seeing the companion's family on & off during the season goes, I don't mind it. It actually grounds the character, & reminds you of the human element. That is totally necessary to keep a distinguishable contrast between Doctor and companion.

Overall, I gave it 4 stars. I believe we are off to a really good start, and from the clips I've seen, the Season only promises to get better.

Yeah, I actually did not like this episode. The ending imo was the best part. My brother watched it with me and it was the first episode he'd ever seen and even he said that episode was really bad.

Yeah there was some fun Doctor Who parts, There always is. Just didn't like it. Looking forward to the next one!

Watched it again last night. I think the bottle of wine I'd consumed on Saturday played a part in my earlier enthusiasm - it was OK, but but not as good as I thought. I'd now vote 3/5. :)

It was fun and silly, more fun and silly than normal, but still pretty cool, as Doctor Who should be, sometimes i think torchwood is too downbeat to be in the Dr Who universe.

I think this is going to be a more light hearted season than last time.

I thought this episode was a load of fun much in the light of the old Doctor Who series. The Adipose was cute as buttons and I usually loath Catherine Tate but she was good in this.

Oh this episode was excellent. Donna is delightful. It'll be fun to see the Doctor/Companion relationship, romance free. Just chums. I loved what the Doctor had to say about Martha. :D

Those adipose were like cute marshmallows.

The cameo took my breath away. And the ending made me cry. Maybe it's because my grandpa died this year... but. It was such a beautiful moment. And Donna was waving with such a childlike joy. :D

This season is going to be FUN!

ETA: I really thought the episode showed the Doctor and Donna as "Partners in Crime" very well.

I thought it was a very poor episode for a premier, i quickly grew tired of the Doctor and Donna missing each other and the Adipose were far to cutesy for my liking (that said my 7 year old daughter loved them).

But it wasn't all bad as i did enjoy the interaction between Donna and her Grandfather and the cameo at the end nearly had me saying swear words in front of my daughter.

Overall 2 stars would have been 1 but the cameo saved the whole episode for me.

I loved this episode, great series premiere!

Especially the scene where they are across the room from each other, miming to each other 'Donna?' 'DOCTOR!' 'How?' 'ITS ME!' etc. lol! great scene. Oh, and when Donna tryed to break the glass with the spanner and it wouldn't break! Great!
Ive seen it 5 times already!
