Alternate ending, to the was then, Season Finale...??

Could it have been that, Lanas angel seen, was shown before the DP/Brainiac/Kara scene? The whole episode was about teaching Clark how to fly, and with the opening shot's of the owl and Brainiac flying away, it was sure to show Clark flying to some extent. Could it once have been, once Kara and Brainiac took off, Clark takes off as well behind them into the hole right before it closes before saying, "To be continued..." What better way to end the, was then, Season Finale. After more episodes were ordered, the death, in the next episode "Descent," and the cliffhanger, Clark flying after them, IMO< were removed to be placed into the new episodes. What do you guys think?

Something told me that if it were the Finale it would have ended with something to do with Brainiac... but we still get 4 more episodes until the Season Finale so I'm grateful.

well craig did say in the canadian forum that there were two season ending shots that were taken out of this episode; one appearing in descent and the other, which by the way he said would've made this episode "Gold" or great, would probably be used for the new season finale episode.

I'm betting that the one that was taken out and put in Descent is the scene we see from the trailer, and the other was Clark flying.

I think, the one used in "Descent," will be the death, and I would want to believe, my idea is the one that would have been "Gold." What better season finale cliffhanger would there be, then to show Clark fly off the DP with the flags blowing, after Brainiac and Kara?

if that's the case, why couldn't they just have kept veritas the way it was filmed and written instead of being lazy and using that idea for their new season finale. I mean is it so bad to have a "season finale" like ending during mid season? That way we could've been given two season finale endings.

In their minds and it kind of makes sense, if someone died and Clark did fly in "Veritas," what would be left to show/do in the Season Finale. There would be too many big events in the course of 5-6 episodes. They wouldnt do that, even though how cool itd be.

There's a difference between being dumb or lazy and being realistic. They have a limited budget, and if they used something as big as that for the 15th episode the ante would be upped and they'd have to do something bigger for the next episode, and even bigger for the finale. This is pretty impossible working on a limited budget.

There's also the fact that they wrote these past few episodes as season enders because of the strike, then got a surprise extension and have to come up with new stuff to fill out 5 more episodes.

Oh FFS, just forget it. It's not worth it anymore. People just want to complain, complain, complain. Heaven forbid the reality of making a show ever hits them over the head.

I seriously doubt it would have ended with Clark flying. I don't think anything was cut from the flying lessons scene earlier on. There were very few cuts and it seemed like a really tight scene. If it had been the season end, I think we would see Clark fly in the Season 8 opener.

I think it would have ended with either the Kara/Brainiac disappearance or the death of Lionel.

That might have possibly have been the actual season finale ending with the cliffhanger questions of where's Kara and how long will lana stay the way she is
