When Lionel warned chloe of a great danger coming, this danger might be the introduction of Darkseid. If any of you don't know who Darkseid is, he's an evil dictator who destroys planets. On the cartoon series superman he made his appearance in an episode called apokolips now. In this episode it is basically doomsday for earth. This could mean something special with the upcoming episode apocolypse. Also more justice league being brought togethor to join the fight, if darkseid is introduced. Plus when Kara and Brainiac flew off, he could've been bringing her to darkseid. Since Zod is gone why not find another great leader. An invasion of earth. What better way to bring the characters togethor along with the justice league.

3 possibilities:

1. Zod is coming...in the flesh - (as I stated in a few other threads) Kevin Sorbo is yet to be seen on the show and from what I've heard its only 4 or 5 episodes and with Brainiac probably gone back in time with Kara to Krypton this could happen with Sorbo as Zod. Yeah we've seen him possess a body...but have we seen him in the flesh...No.

2. The end of the world...thus the apocalypse episode title...hmm maybe linked with Darkseid.

3. Darkseid...even though way too powerful for Clark and Kara IMO. It could happen...

I'm agreeing w/ you. Apocalypse (this spelling) has to do with end of the world type of things. I would think Darkseid if it had the other spelling.

As I have mentioned in other threads (there must be like a dozen threads on this lol), I think that if Darkseid or anyone else from Apokalips is coming, they will not feature prominently in "Apocalype". Clark and Brainiac's 'final showdown' as they are calling it is likely a prelude to something much bigger. After all there is two episodes left in the season after it. Now whether or not it's Darkseid or someone related, will be debated until the finale.

I think Clark too hastily said the "war is about to begin" in reference to Lex's machinations last season. I think it will be more appropriate, one or way another, after "Apocalypse".

Couldn't that have just been them hyperaccelerating to light speed? I don't know if anyone remembers that episode of Smallville with Jordan Cross? It was the episode "Hereafter"? In it he has visions of Clark's future and you see the Superman cape flying and accelerating incredibley fast into a blue tunnel of swirling lights and then exploding into a starfield. That's kind of what the "Boom Tube" looks like against the star field in "Veritas".

There is too much eveidence now pointing towards Darkseid for it not to be. TPOTB have already given an interview saying Zod IS NOT returning. With everything else happening it has to be Darkseid. And that was a boom tube, not hyper accelerating. It lives up to all the boom-tubes in the comics / cartoons.....

The traveler will be Darkseid and what is in the box will be a means for Clark to defeat him this time. Remember the flashback scene saying they will only open the box to enable them to control the Traveler? I think that is going to be pivotal.

The Zod idea just doesn't sit well with me. For one, he's already been used before. Second, if Braniac and Kara went back in time, how could Lionel allude to the fact that something terrible is coming? Lionel knows something else is out there, but of course no one else is going to listen to him. I think he's referring to something in the present.

he can't "get rid" of BrainIAC - hell, even Superman hasn't "gotten rid" of BrainIAC. Besides, it would cause a paradox, like if Clark was to snap Lex's neck like a twig - all these characters have to stick around to maintain what flimsy continuity is left with the main Superman background. It just so happens that Clark can kill Doomsday and still have him appear later.

Hell, you could always have him, Kara, MM and Ollie's band of merry men team up to take down Doomsday, although doing that without someone else dying would be tough.

I agree on the Doomsday theory.

When I saw the "What's coming is so terrible" in the trailer it sounded a lot like Doomsday. And although its since been removed, the Smallville Wiki site suggested that AlMiles would bring Doomsday in as an on-going threat after MB retired from playing Lex.

Honestly I think they should us him/she/it/whatever Doomsday is - but only if they can somehow do the character justice. He seriously iconic. It would be very expensive and his encounter(s) would Clark couldn't just be a punch here and there. It would have to be a huge scale battle! And realistically I don't thinking they can do that with the budget they have.

well...basing things on comics...we all know Doomsday killed Superman. Doomsday in Smallville...would totally destroy Clark without help, and since he's not even Superman yet or had any training, I highly doubt it's Doomsday.

But...since Smallville is an elseworld Superman show...the writers could bring him in and make it work. And they would have to really up the ante because even a lot of non-comic fans know that Superman died at the hands of Doomsday. He's iconic along side Lex Luthor.

I still going with either Darkseid or Zod, all powerful in the flesh.

No matter what it is that is coming, I think we should see the return of not only Martian Manhunter, but the whole Justice League as well. Especially if it's something huge like Darkseid where he needs the help.
