Lionel Luthor. He was so desperate and JG just allowed the scene to just flow. He did make the episode VERY interesting IMO.

I loved Lionel, he was so different in this episode, and his character was so vivid. I am truly sad he will die next week. My vote goes to Lois, however. Classic Lois Lane, can't compete with that.

JG as Lionel was fantastic. I agree that being on his knees before the exaulted Chloe was a bit much but his effort really showed. He answered a lot of questions about Lionel's true character at this stage of the series - he's a good guy and it's because Jor-El inhabits him and it's his chance at redemption. Great stuff from John Glover.

Lionel! That was so amazing the way he, the man who once stood mightily above the rest of the world, now begged before Chloe, a person he once used as one of the many pawns in his games. I loved the emotion between both actors. You could sense that Chloe felt for Lionel deep down, but was just to angry to forgive him right away, and when Lionel started to lose it like that, I really felt such sympathy for him. This scene was one of the most powerful of the series, because it shows us that people DO change, and hopefully, he will be remembered that way by Clark, and will help inspire him to never give up on anyone.

I also loved how evil Lex was, as usual (and can't WAIT to see "Descent"), Chloe was amazing, Kara was great, Braniac's evil was even more sinister this time than when he was on the show in season five (amazing acting job), the Lois and Jimmy pairing was classic...and Clark...wow, what emotion in that last scene with Lana. Tom Welling did a good job there, although I felt he could've been a little more Superman-ish in other scenes, but that's probably because he just had too much on his mind for any really big moments in this one. I did love his interaction with Lionel, though, and the scenes with Lana were heartbreaking...

Speaking of characters, I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but did you notice that Jimmy seemed to be looking at Lois's cleavage in the scene where she told him about Patricia Swann's death, and then later, Lionel seemed to be glancing at it as well? LOL. Just thought that was funny. I couldn't help it either...definitely some hot Lois cleavage tonight! :)

I love Brainiac, any time James Marsters is on the screen, i am captivated. And he was as excellent as usual.
BUT.
I really love Lionel. I really do.

No, man, she was awestumb, like she saw the morgue picture of Patricia Swann and knew that since Lionel had talked to her that he murdered her. Then, with her fantastic cammo (her father was career military) when she was caring for the plant, that was amazing, followed of course by her accusing Lionel of murder and expecting him to respect her I.Q. and confess to a murder then and there. These are fantastic moments in television that will live for ever and are characteristic of Smallville's version of lois.

Thats why I voted for the poor thing and her 5 minutes of fame. :)

Chloe and Lionel's scene was pretty awesome. But my favorite character was Robert Queen. I loved the actor and how the story connected with the Oliver Queen Chronicles. And my favorite scene was the flash back to the group Veritas.

I also really loved Alexander. He is so adorable.

He had the hardest part to play because his acting in Veritas was very different from the Lionel we've seen in the past seasons. That type of acting shows how great he is, being truly able to show a wide range of emotions and make them believable. He wasn't confident, strong and threatening like he usually is. He was weak, desperate and confused. He lost all control over himself and made it look painful. I felt his desperation.

Okay, I've seen Lois in more enjoyable Smallville parts. Just because she's being her Iconic self didn't make it awesome for me.....but at least she's great to look at (I must admit that I was checking her out before I even knew it was her)....but classic Jimmy? His part only showed me more valid reasons as to why I consider him to be the most BORING Iconic character ever to hit a comic book page...let alone celluloid. He was boring in the comics, he was boring in the Superman Movies (yeah, Jimmy was unbelivably boring in the Superman Movies)....and he's boring in Smallville! Although, I rather kind of liked the Jimmy Olsen from the 1950's tv series......but even that incarnation didn't make Jimmy O much of a better character.

Ah Chloe......giving it up to this guy.....one of the rare few times that I can honestly call Chloe a total loser. But at least Chloe was able to give Lana advice about saving it for the right guy......even if Clark isn't the right guy for Lana in the end......as the fates will prove.

Actually they did, by fallowing around Lionel they found the evidence that it was Lex, thus starting false but still getting to the bottom of things because while it was the wrong Luthor, it was a real lead.

Jimmy, Lois, Brainiac, and Shelby were all equal about, however Jimmy won top spot for being put on so much and generally under loved. :\ Brainiac is there because James Marsters is god, also why moon, always showed up right before he came in, and water, got to touch him, made an appearance on my list. Dust was there as the control. :D
