Preview for "Descent!"

Ok, so how awesome did the preview for "Descent" look. Awesome continuity and it pretty much clears up whos dying... How do you guys feel after seeing it?

Something tells me that the footage wasn't from "Descent", though. I'm not sure if what I'm about to say is gonna make much sense, though. :o In "Veritas", they cut out some scenes and stuff. I think that the footage from the trailer was from "Veritas" before they re-did it since the death was originally going to occur in "Veritas" before "Descent" was announced.

And seeing as how they're filming "Descent" now, I think that the footage came from the old "Veritas". Not the one from tonight.

^I don't know. I still wonder why in the preview for Freak they revealed that Chloe was a freak, which should have been the twist...they always give this stuff away in the previews.

I think they're advertising to the long-time fans and those that have left the show with that preview. All of us have talked extensively about how Lex should kill Lionel, and showing it in the preview is a good way to get the fans and those that have stopped watching to come out in force.

- Chloe isn't the only one to have words with Lionel in this episode. Expect Lex and Lois to also have dialogue with the elder Luthor.

You never know though. They could end up using that footage in "Descent" and just make it look like they're somewhere else.

Yeah, they'll probably use it for "Descent". They won't waste footage of Lex pushing Lionel out of a window like that IMO. It won't look like it's from "Veritas" anyways and why waste time re-filming that scene when they have a perfect one that'll fit in "Descent".

The trailer surprised me as well as the fact that they actually promoed new episodes (albeit during SV) beginning April 17th. The trailer seems to point to Lionel being the one who eats the big one but who knows? They also said Kara would teach Clark to fly in Veritas.

Once again I was screaming at my TV during that trailer. Personally, despite a few stinker episodes (I'm looking directly at you Hero) this has been one of my favorite seasons of Smallville. The episode tonight was really good...and it sucks that I have to wait a few more weeks until the next one. BOO!!!

I sat watching throug the whole of Veritas waiting for someone to die and I got to say I was disappointed in the end. So now we have to wait until descent to see who dies. Although this does not come as a shock to me. I've always said that Lex was going to kill Lionel in the end.

He is going to die, one way or another and i think this is the best way for the story...
This is the moment i been expecting since the first season, i expect Lex Luthor rises from here to the finale to be the greatest Lex in the tv/movie series...this is the Lex i want to see in a superman movie, not saying spacey or Hackman were bad but i need to see the ultimate villain that is LEX LUTHOR, the one who kills his father (dream or not, reality or fiction)...

It'll definetly be Lionel. They said the one who dies is here in the show since season 1, so Kara, Lois and Jimmy are out of the question. They said it's a main cast member, So Martha is out of the question (jeez, i get goosebumps just thinking about that). THe one who dies was not presumed dead before, so Chloe and Lana are out of the question. That leaves Clark, Lex and Lionel... hmm... i wonder who it's gonna be...

I wouldn't be surprised if Chloe decides to try to bring Lana back with her powers, and that ends up killing her....but isn't she supposed to be back next season? Ahhh this show is so great.... :)

I don't think Lana is dead, but mostly sedated...kinda like how Lionel was when he was being held when he became Jor-El's vessel....something kryptonic-wicked this way comes....can't wait for the next eppy!!

Good point. Chloe has to be written out of Clark's life so she has always been my favourite to be killed off. If Chloe were to be killed off, would this be what spurs Clark on towards a life in journalism?? We're all waiting for him to take on the mantle of Superman but he shows no signs of taking on the career path of Clark Kent.

Lionel's end, is in "Descent," but I think over the years, Chloe's fanbase has gathered so many supporters, that they wont kill her. After shes fired, she may go work for Ollie and the JLA, or go to Star City with the help of Ollie, and get onto another paper.
