i think it's tiome he flew. I mean serousily his "I don't think learning to fly is revelent when brainiac is out there" attitude totally does not help. If he had learned how to fly he could have at least flew off after kara and brainiac to see what the hell they were getting up to, Why he did not even want to try is beyond me. Kara was trying to teach him and now she's gone...how will clarkie ever learn?

We've gone this long without Clark flying. The fans will get over it :p It was just as big a letdown as it was because a lot of the advertising for this episode was a little misleading...false hopes and all.

We thought he'd at least try. Even if he failed.

Nope. He was in the loft, ready to try...and then just turned around and backed off and basically said it was a waste of time...

anyway about the flight i think its because
1. alot of people want clark to learn to fly on his own or from knowledge in the fortress which is where the producers could be going ( hopefully )
2. possibly put back or removed as it isn't the season finale anymore but still since brainiac is flying and theres rumors that apocolypse will be a brainiac/clark showdown so hopefully he can fly by then :)

Clark flying was the thing they raised from this episode since it wasn't the season finale. The power of flight has been mentioned a lot since the start of the season. I totally agree with RichardMax that he is not flying because being grounded makes him feel human. This season was about Clark finally letting go of his obsession to be something he is not!!
Anyway although i am deeply disappointed that he didn't fly, i am more that certain that before the season finale he will have to do it !!!

I think the very best we can hope for is the final scene of epi 22 of Season 8 showing Clark ripping open his shirt to reveal the famous \S/ and a "whoosh" as he flies off to his new life in Metropolis.

well didn't al miles say something along the lines that "if" there was a season 8, then clark would be flying within that season (here's to hoping that he meant throughout the duration of the season and not in the series finale only), nevertheless, I think Clark will be able to fly by the time his final fight with Brainiac comes around later this season, or at least i'm hoping:o

She was trying to do the right thing, I suppose. Because she refused to go with Brainiac the first time, he attacked Lana. I think her rationale was that she didn't want anyone else to get hurt and wanted to save Lana...so she followed Brainiac.

Think on the flying thing that if ya'll haven't noticed that most the Kryptonian has embrace their heritage as in Clark has not. So I would say that when he accept his destiny and true origins that he will be able to fly like the rest of the Kryptonians
