Exactly. If this was going to be the season finale, Clark would've flown at least once and there would've been a great battle between Clark and Brainiac AND Lex would've killed Lionel.

Excpect the death scene in "Descent" and possibly Clark might fly in that episode OR in "Apocalypse", where Brainiac and Kara will be there, and one can hope Martian Manhunter is there to be on Clark's side.

I don't think that's the case. People are forgetting that all they changed in this episode was the cliffhanger. I don't think that any of the stuff that you mentioned was shot in the episode before the strike. Maybe I'm wrong on this, but it just seems too much to do budget-wise.

Actually I think you're right, in the first scene Brainiac asks Kara "What would you say if I told you that you could go back and change what happened, save all the people you loved?" Something along those lines anyways, so I'm guessing Brainiac wants to go back in time somehow, but needs Kara's help?

I don't quite understand why people are dumping on the episode. The death was cut, flying was VERY likely moved to Apocalypse or the season finale, and there was a freaking BOOM TUBE man!!! It was quite decent, not bad by any stretch of imagination. And for the haters, just think, Lana is in excruciating pain. And JG's performance was great!!!

Most reporters also do not get hired by the cloned dead brothers of a major villain based on rantings about UFOs.

I have no objection to Lois and Jimmy getting involved in the main story. But why not show Lois working for the lead? Something like Action, where she got information on her own, and was following up on it? Even if the work is being done in Offscreenville, at least Lois is working on something.

If a plot device needs to fall from the sky like a barn door to get Lois (and Jimmy, for the matter) involved in the story, then IMO it does not make her look competent. It makes her look lucky, and luck has already played far too large a role in Lois's professional development this season.

Speaking of leads.. who sent it? Lionel has enough on his plate without getting Lois and Jimmy involved just so he can send them away. Since Lex is smart again this week, I doubt he would want to risk them stumbling onto something important. Anyone think we will get an answer on this next week?

From ALL the pages of feedback, I'm seriously dreading, the "airing" of this epi. Goodbye to Lana/Clana? Find that IMPOSSIBLE to believe, when it seems the "show" was built around her stellar/lacking character. IF they could give me ONE reason, WHY it should be all about Lana, I MIGHT "play" into it. She'll come back, when she is LEAST appreciated, to do so:rolleyes:.... SORRY, but KK has never given me a "reason", to love on Lana.:\

But Lana has the mad hack0r skillz! She has a whole mad hack0r skillz computer base! She even told Bizarro (in an especially rude moment) that Chloe was not the only person who knew her way around a computer. Kara has mad hack0r skillz, too! Hell, I think someone is giving the entire population of Smallville night classes on hacking.

I am quite hopeful that we will get an episode next season where Shelby orders several hundred pounds of steak over the internet. It would be a step up from Hero.

Okay alot of things can be said for the Lana character but this was not deserved. It's really not the actress's fault that she pretty! the character might be wishy washy but I don't think they try to put emphasis into making her look better than any of the other ladies.

They all wear similar makeups so I don't get your point. Usually the episodes are around 42 minutes long, so I'm pretty sure there were big scene cuts, the death scene was moved, and that final scene, likely Apokalyps, would indeed have made this episode worth it.

I totally agree. I think some people didn't hear that this episode had been changed and were still expecting the finale-style show. In which case, I can understand their disappointment. Imagine if this episode would have contained a scene where Lex confronts Lionel over the locket, and kills him AND a scene where Clark actually flies. THAT was the finale. Now that this is no longer a finale, we still have two very cool scenes coming up, and now they can take their time to develop them too!!!!!

I haven't seen the whole thing (I've spoiled myself as much as absolutely possible though) but I think this sounds like a pretty great episode. But, like I said, I already knew that certain parts were moved to later in the season.

PEOPLE Al Gough said some mythology from Smallville past comes in, it was never said 2 be action packd...They never rewrote the episode...becuz de Strike dis was suppose 2 be a Mid Season finale...not an actual finale...No1 said anything bout action packd or anything....People need 2 start reading rite....by wat i have read...its sound extremly interesting...THIS WAS NEVER WRITTEN AS A FINALE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!! IT WAS THE LAST EPISODE COMPLETED B4 The Writers Strike happend.......

Actually you're a bit wrong there. It was going to be the finale if the writers stike wasn't resolved. On that note they said that the episode had cliffhangers in it. Becuase the strike was resolved they went back and took a few elements out thus eliminating the cliffhanger until later in the season since this indeed wasn't going to be the finale.

Haha! But hey it's damn well about time we see some Jimmy/Lois promos going on though :D It's about time those two pair up and do some investigating, reminds me of the old days of Lois and Clark *nostalgic obviously* ;)

But I thought that one scene with the young kids, I believe they were, Young Jason Teague, Young Patricia Swan, Young Oliver Queen *obviously for him carrying a bow and arrow, that just HAD to be him* and Young Lex Luthor, all playing hide and seek, I thought that was just a cute scene! I like scenes from flashbacks of the stars when they were younger in this show, makes it more intruiging and more drooling for more Smallville, but yes again, I love little kiddie flashback scenes are awesome! :D

Alrighty! All we need is a younger Lois Lane, and a younger Jimmy Olsen. They both should have younger versions of them both on the show y'know, just to see how they got crammed into Smallville despite it all happening in the comics ;)
