Hi. Please I need a recap of this story arc between the Queens and Teagues, oh and the Swans. In previous seasons they were killed off or died. Frankly I only remember Crosby being murdered, not a Swann, and Genevive never showed interest in Clark. Well maybe her interest in the stones counts, anyway. I need someone to remind me who killed them, since Genevive was killed by Lana and Virgil just died, I really dont remember Oliver's parents being mentioned and Jason's dad wasn't mentioned before either . I think this story of all this people knowing each other and looking for Clark fits, but there has to be a mayor plot hole somewhere...I want you to find me one. Please. Where does this story does not fit?

I'm afraid it does fit.

The Queens were never on the show (excluding mention of them on a newspaper headline that Lionel was reading in "Pilot"), so anything could be said of them.

Genevieve wouldn't have shown an interest in Clark because, out of the Veritas group, only Lionel (and Virgil Swann) would come to know the identity of the Traveler. Genevieve was after the Kryptonian Crystals, though, which she probably thought would lead her to the Traveler. Besides, only Edward Teague was said to have been murdered by Lionel, and as long as that happened after the mention of him in "Arrival", it fits in with continuity.

It was never specified how Virgil Swann died, only that he did.

How disturbing is it that we now know that Lionel was reading the "QUEEN INDUSTRIES CEO MISSING" article way back in the Pilot episode because he was interested in something he had his own hand in committing?! And not to mention the scene last season where Oliver spoke to Lionel and he cited remembering it as if he had nothing to do with it! I'm in shock that AlMiles have set up a storyline from 7 years ago that is just starting to come to fruition in Season 7!

We can complain about plotholes and continuity all we want but that is quite badass! :)

So, when Lionel went to visit Swann and ask him for help and the key back in Season 3, he knew about the traveler? He wasn't only looking for a cure of his liver disease? He knew that Clark was the traveler back then? He faked surprise when he and Clark exchanged bodies? Jor-el knows that Lionel's intentions for Clark are evil so he chooses him as Vessel and "uses" him to protect and guide his son? Again, just for fun, I want to find a plot hole that shows the producers weren't thinking about this story arc way back as we think they have. I mean they've known about this since the newspaper add in Pilot about the Queens?

If they really planned this since the beggining then sorry Geroge Lucas but you should have let this guys write the Star`Wars trilogies.

From what we are aware of now, Lionel could have been (probably was) shocked at how magnificent Clark's powers were, not that Clark had powers. It should also be noted that this technically happened before he became "good". In order for Lionel to see the importance of Jor-El's morally just vision of Clark's future, he had to return to his own body after Clark's essence left - also enabling Jor-El to use him as his vessel at the end of the Season 4 "stones arc".

I totally agree. Lord Lucas will need to cry in a corner.

I remember back in Season 6 when they explained that the Queen article was used because they were initially not allowed to drop anything about Bruce Wayne or anything Gotham City related as a Batman movie was still in "thought production". Really it explains a lot as to why it never read "Queen Industries CEO Oliver Queen Is Missing". Some thought it was a reference to Ollie's time trapped on the remote island until Season 6. And don't forget the biggest clue they left us in Season 2 or Season 3 with the "Emerald Knights" (a popular nickname for the team of GA and GL in DC comics) posters on the walls of Smallville High to hint at either Green Arrow and/or Green Lanterns appearances. And that was way before any superhero allies ever showed up in SV.

i just don't see it. i think it was a happy coincidence. they drop hints to other superheroes all the time, i dont think the article was intended that way...

i wonder if Morgan Edge ever knew about the traveler... i suppose he didnt cause he didnt understand Clark's true value... but i would have thought Lionel might have enlisted his help finding him... would have worked too, cause there wouldnt have been that whol stupid exchange that went wrong

You have an odd idea of fun  Lol

I don't think Lionel knew that Clark was the Traveler until he became the Emissary of Jor-El. The Queens were probably just a precaution (he knew that the Traveler was coming, but the deaths would have to be spaced out so as not to be suspicious); Swann and Genevieve were probably part of his suspicion that Clark was the Traveler.
