I wish somehow this episode was different.
I wish they could have had a letter , or a one way telephone conversation, with Dr.Swan warning his daughter.
Hey the Luthor's are killers.
don't face them head on.
Clark is the traveler.
Seek him out.
I am actually sad Patricia is dead. It could have been such a great plot line expanding on what Dr.Swan told her about krypton.

I think she gathered most of it when she was closing his estate, like she said. She read up on the secret society and then saw his obsession with Clark through his books. I'm assuming also his study of the language, which she can now decrypt. I don't think she knew it was Clark per se, because Virgil likely wouldn't have pointed a direct finger at him since he wanted to protect him.

He seemed to gather evidence linking Lionel to the others murders, but since he didn't include his daughter in the society while alive, he probably figured she wasn't in danger.

Also, Lex has already aquired the vast majority of Virgil Swann's information.
Lex didn't have any need for her. I found it odd that somehow he knew about her locket.
Maybe Lex found infromation about the locket when he took Swann's information.

Then again, this is what some people consider the "real Lex". A murderer - with no Superman or Clark Kent around to stop him. I don't like the whole aspect of Lex - I consider it too exaggerated.

I agree, villains - like heroes - need layers.

I never thought Lex had much info from Virgil Swan? I could be wrong on that, though. It's never discussed it much.

As for the locket, I think he was curious because of the symbol on it, as it matched a lot of the stuff he's been following.

Look, I'm sure shes probably dead, but come on. Lana was "Blown up" for Pete sake. We never really see any kind of proof shes dead other then her bloody necklace. Maybe she fakes her death knowing that Lionel or Lex may try to kill her. I'm just throwing that out there. I'm fairly certain shes taken that long walk down the ol dusty trail.

It was scrolling the same Kryptonian sysmbols that Swann had on it (in "Rosetta). I can't think of the name of the episode it was in... but it was from this year.

The locket had a symbol on it? Other than a Swan?

Yes it had the V shape and stars around it at the top, the same that was the sign of the secret society Veritas, and the thing on his window.

Ah, never noticed the Virgil Swann screen. Hate when I miss stuff.

There was enough room on it to have the veritas things on it too? I didn't catch that. All I saw was a picture of a bird.

Yes, the top of it had the V, which is the top of the key Lex gets in next episode. If you look at the stills for the preview, it shows the necklace and V shape on it in detail.

That's how Lex knew it was of importance? Because I know the key is actually on the inside of the locket - which Lex couldn't have seen previously.

This is TV, of course, so we could have an episode showing a flashback to a scene just before that, where Patricia reads over a letter of that sort, then sends out a double. Of course that would make her less of a good girl. If there was a way to make sure we knew that she thought the double wouldn't be killed or anything then it could work. But anyway, the point is, this is TV, dead characters don't stay dead if they think they can use them in the story.

All about Clark

Actually Patricia was a fool to think she wouldn't get killed by Lionel like all of the others in the group. By going to him, accusing him and letting him know what she knew, she caused her own death.

At least she got her moment with Clark. And I think Clark really did appreciate the book.

What I want to know is what Patricia was going to do with Clark? When she told Lionel that he had done his job, and now it was time for her to take the Last Son of Krypton?

I'm just assuming she meant with her to someplace she could keep an eye on him, help him stay safe and hidden.

I assumed as much, as well as showing him the diary, but keep him safe and hidden from what?

I guess that may be the "terrible thing" that Lionel was talking about in the 'Veritas' trailer...
