Why should we calm down? It's a lovely, unexpected scene and I can see no harm in squeeing about it. Chloe has never uttered those 3 words on SV to the best of my recollection and the fact that she says them to Jor-El in a desperate attempt to save Clark's life is somewhat of a milestone.

I LOVED the Supermanish music at the end of this scene. It was kind of weird that JorEl never spoke at all though...but there was a very iconic feel to the scene, the camera shot over head and wind blowing, faces glowing, the music playing, kind of like Commencement/ Vessel, that we haven't had in a while. This episode was Perfection and imo Best of the season!

There were too many glaring plot-holes in this episode for me to think very highly of it, but I did enjoy it immensely and not just because of the Chlark, but because of the old school feel to it. They are finally picking up storylines of the past and tying them together, which is rewarding for a long-time watcher, imo.

Yeah, for sure. There were some plot holes. I thought it was funny how first they lose Lana, then Chloe, then Kara. I'm really glad Kara didn't take all the credit for saving Clark.

But the best thing about this episode imo was that it was alot like season 3 and season 4with return of evil Luthors, Chloe doing investigating not just sitting around, and at the fortress just seemed so much like Commencement which was a great episode. There was no angst or anything, just pure action!

And I did like her line about how she'd climb Mount Everest for Clark...to cool. Very ISIS like.

And remember Lana said in this episode she would "Kill" if the Luthors hurt Clark.

Well KK is in Thailand filming and as she said the writers are moving more towards the mythos.. So to not show Lana too much it's easier for the writers then when she is in a coma and no one sees her for the last 5 episodes until Season 8. Hence the very little scenes of Lana.

I really enjoyed the Fortress scene with Chloe declaring her love for Clark. It was a bigtime payoff for the Isis foreshadowing and it showed a real strength of character for Chloe to be in Clark's Superman hangout and say she loved him in front of his family.

Hearing Chloe say that she loved Clark was a nice reminder to the audience and I'm really glad they went there.

The scene inside the Fortress was pretty darn epic. One of the best scenes of the series.

I thought it was a great chlark epi...We haven't been getting much of it this season..mainly disfunctional Clana...and for Chloe to profess her love like that to save clark ..that was a big deal becuase she had no idea to what would Jor_El might do and at the moment did not her..It was because of her that Kara got her powers and in turn save CK..There should have been a chlark moment at the end but i would hope that's coming up..Also CHloe said she would climb Mt everest for Ck and Lana's response was ___________....*turns volume up* silence...I think TPTB are trying to foreshadow something...It's no secret that KK and MR will not be regulars next year so who know whats will happen to their characters..I think the way Lana behaved in this epi was another small hint at what may happen in the future.....I wish chlark would happen to but I don't have a good feeling about where her character is going to end up...the healing tears , the would do anything for CK attitude, plus has anyone heard yet if she signed up for season 8 yet?

Yep, this one has it right. Chloe declared her love for ClarkMan right to Jor-el's 'face' and as I have posted it elsewhere, that would have been completely unnecessary if we were talking platonic feelings and this followed right after Chloe declaring to Lana that she would climb Mt. Everest for ChlarkMan. Lana is a sharpie, she knows what that means and she would have not mistaken what Chloe meant had Lana been there at the Fortress. "Me, too, Jor-El" she might have said, but in this case, Chloe said it first. Now Kara knows Chloe's 'secret' and will no doubt pass it on to ClarkMan.

Something else about the Chlark was that Chloe and Clark know each other inside out. Lana still has no clue about anything.

You would think that Lana would have been curious to find out how Chloe found out Clark's secret and yet here we see that she had no idea that Chloe had been transported to the FOS in Arrival.

If anything, she knew more about Lex than she did Clark.

Another tie back to Persona in who truly knows Clark.

Oh yeah. Add to my list this season alone there was the Cure Superman fight over Chloe's heart thing.

The ISIS with the side that would "kill" (Lana said she will kill for Clark in "Traveler") and the side of ISIS that would go to the ends of the earth for the man she loved (Chloe says she would climb Mount Everest for Clark in "Traveler") and once she arrives at the end of the earth to save Clark, Clark is the man she says she "love"s Clark.

Clark says his girlfriend is suppose to know him better than anybody, and Lana did not, while Chloe did.

Clark was told to let go of Chloe (Cure) and Chloe was told to let go of Clark (Persona).

Lex tells Pete that Chloe is still "infatuated" with Clark.

In the next episode, Chloe tells Clark's father that she "love"s his son.

Im sure there's more, like with the hair line in "Siren", the Clark/Oliver convo, Action, etc. but my fingers hurt.

I found that interesting too. The whole scene was like she felt completely at home.

Just a beautiful scene! It amazes me that there was no Chlark interaction on this episode, but there was a very powerful Chlark moment.

The Chlark interaction has been extremely minimal, the past 2-3 eps imo (which is actually really interesting). But it's quality not quantity that counts. Of all the characters on the show, tptb wanted Chloe to be the one to travel to the ends of the Earth to stand up to JorEl and jumpstart the man she loves, this is already her second time to the fortress, and Superman music playing and everything....to cool! I think there is a good reason why not to have a Chloe/Clark scene at the end of this episode, because if Clark knew how far Chloe went Chloe said to JorEl, and how far she went for him....there's almost no way the depth of their love for each other would not be known. Right now, it's only being seen by third parties and the audience- Oliver, Jimmy, Lana, Lex, and Kara.

I really missed the Clark/Chloe scene at the end of the episode. They needed a ending scene like they had so many times in season 5 (remember that fireplace scene, and then loft scene after he came back to life) Chloe would probably leave out her declaration of love for Clark, and then any awkwardness wouldn't be there.

I also didn't take her declaration in such a personal sense. Yes, she loves him, but there's also a lot to love in a platonic sense too, and a love of what he represents to the world. There's no way Jor-El would have brought him back for Chloe (or any woman) to "love" him. She knew she had to appeal to Jor-El's sense of right and wrong, and his plans for Clark's future. That's the only reason Jor-El would intervene.

I am not sure one can analyse her declaration of love for Clark as purely platonic, cos, I don't know, there was just something about her face expression and tone of voice, or rather the high level of desparation in her tone of voice, which makes me suspect she feels more than platonic love for Clark!

Chloe seemed really confident when she says it, and the funny thing is she didn't even seem surprised at all when Kara's like 'Whats happening', Chloe has an expression like she knew exactly what JorEl had wanted to hear...it was kind of weird, how she didn't seem intimidated at all.

I thought it was interesting that in "Traveler", Lana knows the inner-workings of the mansion including secret escape passageways and Chloe knows all about the Fortress, knowing how to get in, giving Kara tips on what to do should something change, and how to communicate with Jor-El.

Another great example of Chloe vs. Lana as well as Chlark vs. Lexana, which I absolutely love because it's clever writing.

Well Al Miles tease Chlark more than any other ship on the show ( ESPECIALLY into this season), I would say, so that's a really good thing. Throw enough bones, and we have a whole skeleton!!!!!! And as much as Clark says "I still love Lana" (though he hasn't even said "love" in regard to Lana this season....ER am I the only one who keeps seeing Lana get sidelined for Chloe, when Chloe's been given 3 scenes at the FoS, fireside chats, picnics at the lake, watching eclipses with Clark, end of the world kisses, 100 plus Clark hugs, numerous Clark catches, a personal bombsquad, and Clark has bared his heart and soul and fears of the future to her like he's never done with Lana. And this season she's definitly been shown to be the girl who knows him best.

Thanks I know many people hate Clana and I like Clana but I've always thought that now that the writers want to move towards the mythos.. And Clana will have to end than why not Chloe. I mean it's been foreshadowed many times in which Chloe has said she would die for him before telling anyone his secret. She believed in him in Labryinth when no one else would. And no offense Lois fans.. Chloe is better than Lois.. And I really can't see Lois becoming the supposed reporter on the show she's supposed to turn into. Come on PPL the REAL Lois Lane is Chloe hands down no competition! Sorry ED fans.

I know this is a thread about Chlark. But I wanted to respond to clana4everfan2's post. I've enjoyed Clana a lot this season. The early season angst, secrets and lies thing I couldn't get into. But, this season with no more secrets and no angst, I've enjoyed their struggle to be together and their sometimes brutal honesty with each other.
