Let me say this, everything they said in that review is true and its also true about this season. They are really pushing their luck with this show. My best friend and my sister hated this episode so much that they said they aren't watching the show anymore.

Even for a filler-esque episode, Hero was lackluster. Pete was not written in a very useful manner. The plot almost managed to seem as pointless to the season as fotw episodes from seasons 1-3. A nice way to pay homage to the earlier formula of the show but not very entertaining.

Like a non-filling, filler.

Hero could have been better if they used Pete's return to play on the audiences' emotions by actually having him be morally in the right the entire episode whereas Clark would've been the one needing direction. We tend to accept Clark's BDA syndrome when it's at the forefront of a seemingly righteous-like character like Arthur Curry, Jonathon Kent, Oliver Queen,...or Chloe even!

Pete coming back to be the fotw... while interesting, clearly not what ANYBODY wanted.

It can only go up from here! But sadly as far as Hero goes, I think the writer of the IGN article got it right when he wrote "drama for drama's sake".

^ absolutely. We've seen every character that has guessed starred on the show tell Clark to help save the world and not hide or mask what he can do and it was fine for the first like 4 years but at this point he shouldnt need people to push him out of hiding and this episode was still them trying to forge love triangles into the mix of the show. im sorry but this was one of the episodes that really ruined the series. i mean for the past like 9 episodes they've pretty much gone no where in its story telling. its becoming unbearable to watch at this point.
