This applies to pretty much the whole series rather than just this episode.
I always wondered about the major plothole running througout the whole series.
Lex has cameras in his office and throughout his mansion. Clark has supersped his way through Lex's office or knocked people out and shown his abilities so many times in that office. Only last week he saved the Black Canary. You'd think that Lex would just watch back those damn tapes he would know Clark's secret already by now.
In fact he should be able to go on mastermind with his specialist subject as Clark Kent - man of steel/Kryptonian

Dude, idk what these writers are thinking anymore. Smallville seemed to be getting better and then all of a sudden came "Hero" and shot it back down to hell.

Some people have to disagree, "Hero" was a good episode, I don't know why people disliked it. "Traveler" surely will be great, if you still don't like it watch "Veritas" and if you really don't like it, watch the last 5 episodes of the season, if not give Season 8 a try.

The fact that they still say Lex doesn't know Clark's secret is the never ending plot hole of this show. Its absolutely impossible that he doesn't know at this point, and he has plenty of proof.
He knows he hit Clark head on with a car and didn't scratch him. He has plenty of proof of super speed.
He might not know he's an alien, but he knows he's at least a meteor freak. Then again, with all the alien artifacts he's had his hands on he should know he's an alien.
If SM ever appeared in Metropolis, Lex would know who it was instantly.
They don't care about being convincing on SV anymore.

Why is it Smallville fans have such a hard time understanding the difference between plot holes and unresolved plot-threads?

Most SV fans are not fanatics that refuse to acknowledge flaws, such as yourself.

I think it's fairly obvious that Lex knows EXACTLY each and every dealing that has gone on in that mansion. You can bet he has seen Clark's abilities on display in that room (ie not being there in one instant and then saving Lana in the next as she crashes through the glass ceiling, smoking infernos that disappear in an instant, etc.)
This isn't so much a plot hole as it is an unexplained mystery - part of what still makes the show intriguing is that you never really know what Lex knows. You get glimpses of it in his eyes (ie the end scene of 'Hero' as he closes the doors).
Lex would never show his hand. He is a tactician, a chessmaster, a brilliant poker player... what ever happened to his pool table though?

If you recall the episode Rogue from season one where the crooked cop made Clark go and steal that breast plate in the museum. Lex was watching the tape, how'd he got it I don't remember but, he couldn't tell if it was Clark because he was moving at superspeed :D

But then Lex thought it was Clark when The Flash broke into one of his buildings so he must believe that Clark can move faster than your average person.
There are just so many pointers to Clark's abilities it's funny that we are meant to believe Lex STILL doesn't know. I mean didn't Clark almost get sucked into the Phantom Zone in Lex's office before he managed to force those two Kryptonians into the portal? You'd think Lex might have seen that tape.

I think Clark is faster now and almost impossible to catch on tape. Bart being caught was a mere fluke. I truly believe Lex does know.
