Ok, so I right now my season 6 dvd set is at my sisters house, so I can't check, but I am pretty dang sure that Clark's Tundra was a different color.
can anyone check this for sure for me? There is a scene in progeny where we get a tundra promotion shoved down our throats, near the beginning of the episode, right after chloe gets up in the morning.

Hi, yes it was dark red then, now it's blue. I wondered about it, too.

Yeah, sometimes it seems that they forget what they did in the other episodes. We, as Smallville fans don't forget such details, how could they forget?
Maybe they' re no fans of SV, they are only doing their job and that's why such mistakes happen? Sad thought, isn't it?

They have to pay the bills somehow. Advertising.
It worked. You are talking about it. That's their goal. For viewers to notice and
to mention the truck. Marketing. Even if it comes across as stupid to do.
They don't care.

And that's the reason for a colour change of that car? Yes that is stupid!

And that's the reason for a colour change of that car? Yes that is stupid!Yes, I agree. It comes across as cheezy. But it caught my attention to. I was like, ooooOO, shinny blue - who's is that? It is all done by design. I'm sure automobile companies pay BIG bucks to showcase their brand new trucks in front of millions of viewers - knowing their age bracket and purchasing power and all.
Personally, I don't think it fits Clark Kent well.
I'd rather they show the (real-life classic) 1971 Chevy Pickup truck again. :)
I actually have the exact same one they showed Clark with in a field (bailing hay) once.
Waaay back in the very early years.
I think that's more his style, or should be.
Superman/Clark Kent driving around in an old 1971 Chevy Pickup truck. Classic, all American.

I just think that it should at least make sense, wasnt the farm on the verge of bankrupcy, or is Clark now taking gifts from Lana`s ill obtained money??

^ GOOD point.
No morals. Things I hate about the writers/producers.
When I seen the truck, I thought - oooOOO, and thought for a second that it was Lana's.
Now that you've mentioned it like you did, it makes it really terrible. :(

Yeah, it would be more believable. Seeing Clark with that new truck, always makes me wonder, where he gets the money from, to be able to afford such a new car?
When Martha and Jonathan Kent were there, they talked about theit low budget all the time and they used that old red truck all the time.
Now, his parents are gone, but he has a brandnew truck - that's so not fitting in the whole farmlife idea.

Oh my God - that's an alternative I don't believe it could be true. Don't get me wrong, it is normal, that a couple share their money of course, but Lana's money (as much as she deserved to get it from Lex) is still money that came from Lex. And I don't think, Clark's able to accept it.
Wasn't Jonathan always against taking money from Lex? He also forced Clark to return that truck Lex sent him as a gift, because he saved his life in season 1?
It would be nice, if there would be talks about such issues between Clark and Lana, but, well, the writers don't really bother with things like that anymore.
In the earlier seasons you could be sure, that they would talk about such problems afterwards in Clark's loft or somewhere else. But nowadays there's not much of such scenes.
I've expected Clark and Lana for example to talk about what he had seen in Lex's mind somehow, but nada - they pressed the reset button for Clana and they're just going on, like nothing has happened at all. Soooo...??!!

Yes of course, didn't think of that!
But Clark never mentiones his mother's job and if they're having any contact. We saw more often Lionel talking about her or with her at the phone, but never Clark. Why?
They could have shown at least once in a while a scene with mother and son, where he's visiting her in Washington or where he's talking with her at the phone.
Or did I miss it? Don't think so.
It's like she is dead, too, like his father. It should be possible to get her as a guest star in a few episodes again - I really miss that family feeling in Smallville.

I want to believe it was Lana's car.She got the blue and Clark got the red one.Add the fact that they were liplocking in front of Pete and you could take that as an anvil if you want. The only person missing was Lois. :D

One of the first flaws in the ep I noticed, but you could imagine AlMiles saying that Clark was only leasing the red one, turned it in and got a blue one. Hmmmm, red, blue...it needs yellow trim and a house of El symbol on it.
Great point about the 70s Chevy...totally fits him better. Dang this product placement! It's like Chloe looks so much better with the orange Beetle; uh, well, uh, she actually looked amazingly awesome in the ep as she was ;)

Next time they drive a black truck or whatever and the time after that it's a green one etc.???
Sorry, but that's not Lex, that's Clark and I think it's normal to wonder about the changing trucks.
IMO, it's not a less important topic than the all time question: "Where the hell is Shelby?", is it?

yah they had a couple old red and blue trucks that always broke down for one reason or another plus of course the fotw that would damage it. If jonathon and martha could aford to fix the old trucks everytime one of them broke down or had damage and could fix the few tractors the had that were different colors. I see now problem with clark driving a red truck on year and a blue one the next especially when martha is a senator.

Lana's SUV blew up in Phantom, so I guess she bought a blue Truck. She needed a way to get to the Isis Foundation in Metropolis.

Ha ha ha, I can see it now. Clark sends his truck to 'Pimp My Ride' - he gets a truck with hydraulics and spinning 'House of 'El' rims :rotfl:
I seem to recall the Kents bought Clark a brand new blue truck as a present. Then the truck got blown up when this journalist was trying to prove Clark had powers.
The Kents' insurance company must think there is some strang stuff going on on the farm.
Insurer: "OK, so you say the barn door just blew off and landed several miles away"
Kents: "That's pretty much it......you must get this all the time right?"

Nooo, i'm pretty sure they did actually buy him a new blue truck for real. It was his reward for making some adult decision about something - maybe about choosing not to take the football scholarship or something??
It was definitely his new truck that got blown up.
I think there was also an episode where someone bought him a truck and he wanted to keep it but his parents made him give it back. Someone help me out here, I just know the Kents bought Clark a blue truck.

In the Pilot, Lex bought Clark a Red Truck for saving his life, and JK made him return it.
I don't think the Kents could afford to buy Clark a truck. If you can remember the episode I will check it out:)
In Tempest, the Kents blue Truck was blown up by the Reporter, while Clark was using it for farm chores. I still don't remember them ever buying Clark a Truck. WE could ask Skully! He's a Smallville Quiz ace;)

I don't really think it matters, but...
... Lana could have bought the truck w/ Lex's money.
... Clark's mom is a US senator and he's friends w/ two billionaires. Someone could have bought it for him.
Or the red Tundra could have just been traded in for a blue one. That happens.

I too miss the old Dodge Ram pick-up Clark used to drive around the farm (after Roger blew up the old '80s style Chevy pickup they had). Although, even then they had that truck red and then blue, then back to red again. I too remember the tundra being red back when they were running the Toyota promotion. I chaulked the Tundra being blue this go around up to Lana spending some of the $10 million she stole from Lex to get another truck.

Well, in S5 Splinter Clark totalled the Kents Red Dodge Truck. Can't even remember a Truck in S6.
in S7 Fierce, at the corn Festival, the truck was blue. It wasn't a Toyota or a King cab, like in Hero.
This is fun, remembering all the Kent's Trucks

How could everyone on K-Site miss the symbolism?
Lana was driving Clark's BLUE truck that should have been his RED truck to do one of Clark's chores, taking the fence posts to Ben Hubbard, to give Clark more time to visit with his new guest, Pete. But in spite of Lana's generous gesture, it's "Too Late to Apologize", calling to mind One Republic at the end of the epi singing (imagine Clark as the speaker/lead singer), "I loved you (Lana) with a fire RED, now it's (love) turning BLUE (for COLD.)" Clark hasn't gotten more BlueK, so he's still withholding the sex from Lana -which is very cold indeed.
Chimmy mentions breathing new (RED)fires with butane into cold (BLUE) "embers" and that's supposed to call to mind Lana driving off in Clark's BLUE, no longer RED, truck full of timber or "embers", BLUE for COLD "embers." HEAVY FORESHADOWING, FOLKS! Chimmy's on now, Clana's going off. They're changing places soon.
