Chloe has always denied her feelings for Clark, and it's obvious that Pete isn't only bitter about hiding his secret...but living in his shadow..and I would assume that includes his feelings for Chloe. So maybe it's hinting that Chloe isnt as over Clark as she would like everyone to believe? I mean...obviously honesty isn't the best policy on this show! I thought it was about Chloe too. And on Smallville it probably was about Chloe, but....it was probably also a nod to the comics where Pete marries Lana.

Umm, I do admit that Clark feels alot more comfortable w/ Chloe, they'd make a superb couple (better connection, bond, truly understand each other, knows wut each other are thinking)...on the other hand with Lana, it's just so complicated AND I still dunno why Clark's w/ Lois in the future, they look more like brother/sister type. As much as I hate to say it, Clark doesn't want Chloe (thx, Lana!), and that's Clark's lost, he just doesn't know how to pick the right partner/woman.

Yea, I never got the impression it was a Pete/Lana thing. They barely looked at eachother at the farm...one scene they stood by eachother and looked at Clark, but thats about it. I do think after seeing them they would be cute together. Take her Pete!!!

Umm..no, not a Pete/Lana thing on Smallville. I didn't get that impression either. I got the complete and total impression he was talking about Lana and Chloe on Smallville.

But.....they probably wanted to get that comment in there because.....it's a NOD to the comics that Pete marries Lana in the comics, not Smallville.

I don't really think it foreshadowed anything. Pete was merely stating a fact, that both Pete and Clark love women who have feelings for Clark, meaning Lana and Chloe. Clark loves Lana, who loves him back. And Pete loves Chloe who loves Clark.

There's a bit of confusion in here. But there was no nod to the comics. Lex was pointing out that they were both in love with girlS who are in love with Clark Kent. i.e. Pete with Chloe and Lex with Lana.

I have had sexual chemistry with people and have only ever been friends with them. Clark had sexual chem with Chloe in the past and they are just friends. Regardless of Clark and Lois' future together, currently they don't hang out or talk on the phone or even do much one on one talking at all for that matter. I think the are in a fledgling friendship which could or as you say, will progress to something more. Just my to pennies.

As for the topic. I think it could mean both - a nod to the comics and the past standings of Smallville in regards to Pete's feeling for Chloe and Lex's on Lana. I really do think Lex loved/loves Lana. I think it is probably more likely the last of the two mentioned.

I am not trying to write Lois and Clark's future relationship off, cos I know fully well that they will end up together! Currently however, she doesn't even appear as a close third on Clark's romantic radar! She is just a cousin of his best friend, his, more often than not annoying, friend whom he has to rescue from time to time! That's what Clark and Lois have right now, and one shouldn't try to make it into something more just because they will eventually end up together sometime in the future!
And no matter how much one may try to deny it, the fact is that the two most important female figures in Clark's life, besides Martha of course, are Lana and Chloe! Granted we all now that constalation will change in the future where Lois will become the focus of Clark's world, but this isn't the future, this is Smallville, where if I am not mistaken, Lois still has a nack for grating Clark's nerves so much where he wouldn't min seeing her move to Alaska and never come back!

Yea, its too late in the game for Clark to start having feelings for anyone else, besides Lous, even a little crush, because Season 8 will probably be the last season.
