Right! paitence just isn't my storng suit!;)
I checked: Told that BDA to stop telling so many people about his secret!
But it was a good list and I was also considering: Ask Clark, Chloe & Lana how they can trust Lionel a man who TRIED TO KILL CHLOE!

Call me sentimental, call me a softie...but I always imagined Pete and Clark's reunion would be accompanied with hugs and OMGds. Sorely dissapointing. The only thing I can think of is that they might have seen eachother once in a while in offscreenville. Oh well.
I wanted CK and him to act like people act when they haven't seen each other in YEARS! Hug, smile... catch up - without the powers, without the stride gum, just them catching up - and then he could have caught up on some of the happening in SV and maybe hung around a few episodes..... and tried to bring down sexy Lexy.......
anything but what happened in this episode......

I was let down by the lack of emotion as well. Clark did say he tried calling and Pete didn't return those calls so I can understand a little tension. That and finding Lionel in his kitchen.

I guess not because Chloe said that Pete hasn't come back to Smallville for a long time and since Chloe's mostly with Clark, she would know if he came.
I wish that Pete kissed Chloe at the end of the episode... Making Jimmy even more jealous. :D

I'm just a little saddend that Pete's return was handled like a run of the mill FotW story. There was no emotion in this whole thing, nothing of substance. Somebody mentioned in another thread that they could have used this episode to further dig into Lex' psyche. They could have had Pete accuse Lex of becoming the exact thing he had always warned Clark about. He could have told Lex that Clark was always the only one who believed in him.

I wanted him to kiss Chloe. I mean..come on Pete...really, whats there to loose now? You havnt seen her in years! But before he does that, I want him to take the gum out! I hated that stupid stuff...rolling around in his mouth.

I wanted Pete to be shown doing something that has to do with his future in politics. I didn't like the elongation powers plot the episode had. It was a lot like Velocity, but he did what he did for different reasons.
My favorite parts were when he & Clark played ball. Clark when they played ball the 2nd time finally didn't seem mopey. I've been saying all along that Clark needs a buddy and Pete is the one who should be that buddy. I want him back in season 8. I hope Al & Miles work something out with SJ3.

I'm disappointed "not suck" wasn't one of the ten options.
I'm usually one of the rather positive fans on this board, but I have to tell you, I was deeply disappointed with Pete's much-built-up "return." There was no chemistry between the characters, and it felt like most of them just didn't care (and as a result, I didn't much care). I don't know if SJ3 and TW had a falling out off-camera or something, but it just seemed like there was no real emotion there between two best friends who share a dangerous secret. In fact, Chloe was the only character who I could believe, based on this episode, was ACTUALLY close to Pete in high school.
It just seemed like Pete was going through the motions in this episode. He gets pissed at Clark, gets himself in trouble, and then needs rescue. Call this one "Velocity Redux."

Confess his undying love for Lana and run off with her. Free-ing Clark of the 'clana' burden..allowing him a chance to fulfill his destiny.mwahahahahaha
Oh yea..and telling that BDA to man up and stop with the secrets and lies. Enough already!!!!!!!!

In your poll it says as one option:
After nearly 4 years Clark couldn't even be bothered to say hi!
I thought in the episode Clark said that Pete was the one who hadn't bothered to return Clark's calls or even bothered to say Hi to Clark. This was during there conversation when playing basketball. I got the impression that Pete was the one who was ignoring Clark. Based on Pete blaming Clark for "forcing" him to leave Smallville; and not revealing his secret to the world so Pete wouldn't have to worry about revealing Clark's secret. Or did I just hear that wrong?

The blaming Clark part was most likely due to the kryptonite in his system. I would say that his real reason was because he was scared that he would blow Clark's secret.

I know Pete is never going to get over his anger at Lionel for cheating his family out of their factory. So it is only fitting IMO, that he would ask his friends how could they trust Lionel after all of that and trying to kill Chloe.

I was seriously hoping and thinking that Lana might take a romantic look at Pete at the end of the episode, like a wink-wink to a future relationship, like they did in 'Siren' with Oliver Queen and Dinah Lance.

i wanted Clark to confront Pete, or Chloe to confront Pete about why he ran away and abandoned his friends so selfishly
love the guy, but since lana and chloe both know and havent left, and havent died cause of knowing the secret, seems like his reason for leaving is a bit over exaggerated...
why did no one call him up and say 'hey, chloe and lana know and everythings fine, you dont have to pretend you dont know me anymore'

Agreed. I had total Velocity deja vu (even down to the "being in your shadow, Clark" line!). I don't know if that was intentional or not....
I would have liked Pete to comment more on the changes that have taken place since he was gone.

I agree that he could have handled it better because Chloe and even Lana did, but I'm sure they would have had Pete back for Season 4 if Sam Jones III didn't want to leave the show.
Also, I don't know that everything was fine for Chloe and Lana when they found out... it has been hard on Chloe, as they have done scenes where she has lashed out at Clark because of the pressure, and with Lana, it has strained the relationship earlier this season when she knew his secret but kept secrets (Isis, Lionel in the cabin) from him.

well chloe and lana have had it easier than pete did back then... alot was going on, and it all seemed to fall on him... he got beaten up, thats why he left... but im sure if he had known that there were plenty of others that knew now, he would have felt safe to come back more often and not have to ignore his closest friends
All about Clark

Well obviously Pete left for more than his safety, or he would have come back. He clearly said it was better to not have to live in Clark's shadow. So it wasn't just about his safety. He wanted to leave that life behind, that is clear. And he left as quick as he could. This way his life could be all about Pete and not all about Clark. This is where Pete differs from Chloe, she wants to be a part of Clark's life. Lana is kind of riding the fence, she's more like Chloe now, but I can see her part ways like Pete. I guess Pete and Lana really do make a good fit.

Yeah I agree with that. Chloe and Lana weren't exactly beat up by Morgan Edge. It would still be hard though for Chloe in particular. But she cares so much for him that she would be the last to reveal a secret like that. I think we're gonna see Lana consider revealing Clark's secret in her anger if Clark dumps her for the final time either late this season or in Season 8 (like in the comics... at least the Man of Steel series).

well i hope it was more about safety than getting out of Clark's shadow or i'd consider that he gave up on his friendship too easy
ive been in someones shadow, my best friend since i was 10 was thin and beautiful and confident and always got the guys, and i was 'roz's friend becky' for a long time. but i grew into my own identity by doing different things to gain my own reputation and life... we are at different uni's now which helped me grow into my own person, but i didnt have to cut off from her to do that
Pete wouldnt have the right to use that as an excuse for not showing up to jonathon's funeral, let alone not being there for his friend when he knows the danger he is constantly in, and he could help. i could never just give up like that

It may not have been Morgan Edge, but it was Lionel and his FBI agent. Lionel was the one obsessed (well, even more obsessed than Lex) about learning Clark's secret at that time.

The FBI agent Loder arrested Lionel and began working with Lex relating to Clark's secret and captured Pete and beat up on him. Morgan Edge wasn't there and Lionel was in jail. Lionel however did get Loder interested in Clark as well as Lex. Lex wanted answers but he didn't want Loder to beat up on Pete. Any other comments.

OK fair enough. I couldn't quite remember... I watched Season 3 in November but my mind must be fuzzy... I guess this is proof of how twisty and exciting Season 3 was! I didn't remember that Loder was working with Lex, but I remember that Lionel got Loder interested in both Clark's secret and Lex's scheme.

Loder turned against Lionel when Lex had documentation of his father's crime. So first Loder worked with Lex, then he worked with Lionel, and then worked again with Lex.

Oh that's right I remember when he switched sides because Lex had the proof to get his dad in jail... so that was Lex's bargaining chip to get Loder on his side. Yeah. Wow what a jog of my memory.

I'm glad he came back, but he and Clark could have had a better reunion. They used to be best friends, yet, he seemed almost mad that Pete returned. Both Chloe and Lana seemed happier to see him.
It also would have been cool if Pete kissed Chloe before he left. Although I loved their scenes together, having them kiss would be a better good-bye.

Lol, voted that too..
Until S8 it really didn't make any sense that these two were in the series.
I'm sure 75% of the board members will dissagree, but I wish Lois didn't come to the show until at least season 6.
I do (kinda) like Lois in S9 tho, so no hate plz :)
