I think Jimmy got jealous when he overheard Lex telling Pete that he knows what it's like losing someone that is still infatuated with Clark.

But here's something else, Lionel had Kara's bracelet in the vault, Pete went to steal it. Lionel saves Clark when he removes the meteor rock, Clark says , we need to talk, but do we know where and how Lionel got the bracelet and who gave it back to Clark. We see Clark putting it in the barn under the boards where the blue Crystal was.

No mention of Gabriel, no funeral, no tears nada.
