okay....who were the "features" when the song was played ? Lana, Clark, Chloe or Jimmy ? Were Lex and Kara having hot cocoa, at the mansion ?

The songs by One Republic that they played were as follows:
Someone- Opening Scene
Mercy- Scene when Clark goes to save Pete
Apologize- Scene when Clark takes Kara's bracelet and hides it in the barn. And when Jimmy gets back together with Chloe.
Woo hoo a while ago I had suggested that Smallville play One Republic and they did! haha! Hey they're an LA based band. They toured all over Cali before their album came out and became big prior to touring the country. I've seen them several times in San Fran!

It started with Chloe and Jimmy preparing for coffee plans, then it went to Clark hiding Kara's bracelet, and finally Lex looking at the Veritas sign and Kara saying she doesn't trust Clark and Lana.

The song played in the teaser was "Stop and Stare," not "Someone".

Thanks! Was wondering what the song was called.

I'm pretty sure the Lexara suggestion is just a psyche-out to get all you shipper complainers up in arms.

They should have played Bowie's "Heroes" at one point in the episode.

And I agree the fact that they would be playing Apologize at the end of the episode was so obivous.

I think Lex is just using Kara to find out about Clark. It's just a hunch, and it disgusts me to think he is using her. -shivers-

But the music was perfect! I am now proud to say I love One Republic!

I agree. I really liked "Apologize." Definitely going to buy it on iTunes and add it to my own Smallville soundtrack I've compiled. :)

I liked the music.

It was obvious that "Apologize" was going to be played, but I think it blended well with the scenes.

Never heard of them before this episode.
I thought "One Republic" was some sort of clothing line.

One Republic has some very well written songs. I enjoyed hearing them play as well as they surprise of them being on the episode. They haven't had a band on the show since season one; the last episode. I want to say the band was Lifehouse, but my memory serves not well this time of posting; please forgive. In any case, BRAVO!

LOL, they had Remy Zero in the final ep of season one. Then in season four, during the ep "Blank" they had Lifehouse perform. LOL, I had forgotton about them! I really enjoyed seeing One Republic on Smallville. I saw them perform on the show 'So You Think You Can Dance?' last summer, since then I've become a huge fan. 'Apologize' is one of my favorite songs, so to hear it on Smallville was awesome! I so want their CD now.

The music was the best of any episode this season, IMO. One Republic is a good band. I loved the song at the end when Clark hides the bracelet in the same spot where he hid the blue crystal from Kara's ship earlier this season. It was a great backdrop to the pain that Clark obviously felt for having to keep a secret from another person that he loves.

Also, while Pete discovers his new power after saving Kara, does the music not have some "Spiderman" overtones? Especially in the first film when Peter Parker discovers his power?

I liked the music in this episode, the only song I had heard before watching it was "Apologize" (I mean who hadn't already heard that song.) But the other two "Stop and Stare" and "Mercy" were new to me, they were pretty good.

Kara was so cute when she was dancing at the beginning, she looked so happy and relaxed.

I absolutely loved the music. Stop And Stare was an excellent opening, but my favourite would have to be Mercy, that song is just perfect.

Apologize has been so overplayed on my radio station the past months, but I wasn't sick of it, so I really liked its placement in the episode.

I thought "One Republic" was some sort of clothing line.

the clothing thing is "Banana Republic" just for the record.
