Just thought of something, sorry if it's been mentioned before.
Oh well, here it is: wouldn't it be swell if the series finale would be in the style of Star Trek: Enterprise, like the last episode is placed years later than the rest of the series. So, say the second to last episode ends with Clark leaving for his training, and the last episode is him coming back years later. First goin to the farm, talking to his mom, then catching up with Chloe (if they won't do smth stupid and kill her off), apologise to Lana for leaving her, only to find she's with Pete now, meeting with Perry again, who'll remmeber him and offer him a job at the DP, where he is greeted by Jimmy, and of non other that the lovely Miss Lane.
Anyway, i could ramble on about this for a while, but you catch my drift. Whatddaya think? :D

Even though Lana marries Pete Ross in the mythos, seeing Lana with the Pete Ross we know, would be extremley weird

Oh don't get me wrong, that's totally not what i meant. There shall be no crying-over-Lana in the series finale (or in the whole show if it were up to me). There is only one that should be with Clark and that is Lois (i'm still angry he even slept with Lana... what happened to Lois being his one and only ~sigh~). But you know Clark and his "it's all my fault" ways, I see him going to apologise to Lana and wish her a happy life or smth like that.

There won't be crying over Lana in the series finale.
This season has been alot more grown up, and the only time we've had full on Clana interaction i feel, was at the beginning of Wrath. You could see at the end of Persona, that Clark does not look at Lana in the same way. When they end, there definetely shouldn't be any moping on Clarks part.
Whether Lana mopes, we'll having to see

Since I first read that the justice league was gonna be in season 6 I thought that Clark should continue to save smallville and other parts of the world but not join the league on a permanent basis till the series finale where we see himin the fos training while wearing a black kryptonian suit with a huge white S shield then jor-el stops and says your friends need your help in metropolis. clark flies from the fos to metropolis where we see the JL with several new members fighting some huge monster(smallville's version of doomsday) and losing several justice league members(created just for this episode) are hurt or killed the monster has destroyed several buildings clark uses his ice breath and the creature keeps moving. Clark sees the damage the monster caused while he was away. We see that the Luthorcorp building, the daily planet, and a few other building are the only thing still standing Clarks continues to fight this monster while luring him away to an open field where clark and the remaining JLers defeat it. Clarks grabs the now defeated monster and lanches him into the deep reaches of space where we see the monster open its eyes so the audience knows this isn't the end of the monster.

Clark flies back down to the justice leaguers And asks "how are you all Green arrow, Impulse, Cyborg, Black Canary, Angel of Vengence and the rest of you I don't yet know?"
Green arrow: We're good and apparently you know are names but who are you?
Clark: It's me boyscout. You cann't tell me you don't regconize me. Impulse You cannot be boyscout he's to slow besides he cannot fly only girlscout can do that. Clark: Where is my cousin anyways? Cyborg: You know women see broke a nail and then she became totaly useless. Green Arrow: There was some kryptonite in one of the buildings she was searching to find injured people after in calapses she was injured but after a good rest she should be good. You know how stuburn she is. Even in her weakened state she wanted to stay here and help luckily I packed my newest arrow wich knocked her out so we could take her some place safe. Manhunter and Question took her to the watch tower and Our best doctors are treating her injuries while they look to find who created this monster. Clark: Created?
Cyborg: Yah last I checked monsters don't just apear out of nowhere. Clark hears a faint noise he uses his superhearing and x-ray vision to find the sourse of the sound and finds a little girl crying he asks what wrong and she points to her parents laying down a few yards away clark puts one parent over each of his arms and picks up the little girl and superspeeds out of the ruble from the building. He hands the girl to Andrea. Andrea: I'll watch the girl get the parents to the hospital and I'm not the Angel of Vengence any more I work with the league to bring justice not revenge. clark superspeeds the two adults to a near by hospital sets them in the lobby and superspeeds out. The returns to the league and picks up the little girl Clark: Your parents will be okay they just need some rest since that build landed on them. Are you sure your okay. little girl: I'm good just a few bumps and bruises. Thanks for helping my parents. I think your gonna need a new suit though superman(have the little girl call him superman for the first time)
Green arrow: It's gonna take alot of money to fix metropolis.
Black Canary: Good thing you got billions you can use to help rebuild it.
Green Arrow: Even with all my money it's gonna take a long time to rebuild we cannot exactly rebuild a major city over night.

early next morning at the daily planet

Perry: Luthorcorp to donated billions to rebuild city.
Lois: Yah only because he feel guilty for releasing that monster on all of metropolis.
Chloe: Now Lois just because Lex sold the Daily planet doesn't give us the right to acuse him of something we cannot prove.
Lois: My assitant Editor Cousin who has been hurt by the luthors more times then anyone won't stand by me when I say that Lex is somehow responsible.
Chloe: I stand by facts and the fact is you don't have any proof that Lex caused this.

Next Day kent farm
Oliver: I donate 1 billion dollars lex donates 2 billion.
Clark: It's not a contest Oliver he just wants to help rebuild the city.
Dinah: Only cause he feal guilty for destroying the city and not being able to destroy the entire league.
Clark: You don't think Lex created that thing do you?
Kara: Well it was looking for us and who hates the justice league more then Lex luthor.
Bart: We could use your help to take down lex once and for all.
Kara: I may have been flying alot longer then you but I am nowhere near as strong as you are.
Clark: WELL I liked it when the little girl call me Superman. fade to black.

I don't think it would be a good idea. I think if you ask most Star Trek fans, even the ones that loved Enterprise or at least loved Season 4, will say the final episode was the worst. "These are the Voyages" was horrible, and didn't make any sense that entire episode was set years after the rest of the series.

I actually kind of like the idea. Although I might prefer if there were several episodes that show his start as Superman.

Example. Episode 17 has Clark leave for the fortress. Episodes 18-22 take place several years later and show the reappearance of Clark and his first Debut as Superman.

The end is gunna be so dramatic. my guess is the league forms, clark gets a job at the building with the totally unnecassary globe on top, saves lois as superman. at the end we see lois all fluttery about superman and clark hover in the atmosphere. uses super hearing, car alarm, flys back down.

I think the series should end with Clark in the fortress and Jor-El saying "Kal-El my son, it is now time to begin your training". Then Clark would say "I'm ready". then they could have the camera pan out until you see the entire fortress then the screen goes black. But during that scene they MUST play the music they play after the opening credits from the 1st superman movie when they show krypton's sun and krypton

I'd actually be really surprised if this happened. Whats wrong with the Globe on top? It's a part of comic book canon.

Yeah I agree. For better or for worse this is probably closer to how they'll end it.

For no other reason that it has been in the comics for decades. And also it's cool bit of imagery. So why not?

if this is the last scene then what the hell do they do for season 8? they can end the show this season with that ending

Last scene should be Jor-EL saying "Kal-El you are finally finished your training" and some combination of Clark flying, putting on uniform, etc etc etc

Personally I think Clark should fly before the series finale.

nah no need to flash-forward this aint Lost

It wouldn't be a 'flashforward' it would be a jump forward, like the gap between season 2 and season 3 where Clark was just hanging out in Metropolis but they just skipped over it and started the season off with "3 months later".

This is how to end Smallville, the final 4 scenes:

Clark & Lana, ending all the "relationship stuff" to a point of total closure; they come to an understanding in the loft, an equitable parting of the ways.

Clark & Martha. The final "I'm proud of you", you're ready.

Clark & Lois. @ The Planet, under Perry White. Classic Dynamic. Joke @ Jimmy's expense.

Action scene: lots of citizens in peril. A moment in which dozens of people in Metropolis are on the verge of death. Clark strides down the block, surveys the scene, realizes, it's finally time. Music swells. Camera zooms in from medium shot as Clark unbuttons his shirt. CLOSE IN on the "S" logo.

Cut to Black. Music fanfare is still blaring.
End of series.
