Ok so everyone knows that this is the REAL greatest episode in Smallvilles history, why the hell has no-one made a thread about it until now?

Well now i've done my duty and people can talk about the episode that gave us Shelby!

as a fan of Lois i loved this epsiode, one of the better Clark/Lois relationship building eps.

Wish they would have kept the dogs name Clarkie though

Possibly the GREATEST epi ever, NO Lana........very little Chloe, and Lex......all about Clark and Lois, and "their" baby.

Martha's reaction when Shelby broke the table to get to the food was priceless.
:rotfl:

TW seemed to really enjoy sharing screentime with Shelby, too. I'd say even more that with AM, KK or MR. :D

I am guessing alot of Lana lovers don't like Lois because they see her as a threat to there belovid Clana. There probably is a few comic fans who see Lois in Smallville breaking continuity of the superman story. The rest probably just irked by her personality.

This a good episode to judge how much they like lois. If they loved the episode such as myself they most likely a Lois fan. If they indifferent to it, that shows they don't love or Hate Lois. If they rate this one of the worst episodes ever then they most likely Hate Lois.

Well I like Lana/Clana, some of the time.... and I'm a MAJOR Lois fan/Clois shipper... But I really see no reason why Lana or Clana fans would hate on Lois... I mean its not like Lois being there stopped Clana from taking form. Its not like Lois was trying to get in between the Clana relationship or take Clark away, in fact she was the one to point him in her direction after he asked Lois to dance in Spirit, and she directed him to Lana in Arrival... so if they dislike her, it must be based on something petty.

I don't think Clana fans really hate Lois. A lot of bashing seems to come from Chloe and Chlois fans, IMHO.

lol i really like this one. I thought it was really funny the banter between clark and lois.

I rather enjoy these kinds of relationships, the kind that start off with them arguing and not really liking each other and then they end up falling head over heels in love with each other!

I gotta say tho my favorite part is when clark wants to lois to call the police while he goes to the place the robbery is going down and shes like "whoa, we are taking my car! you are so weird sometimes!" lol i know i got the quote wrong but I was laughing!

hmmm... might be because she ran into the wonderful shelby with her car, was sarcastically calling him Clarkie and was allergic to him

I think it's a case some fans from every ship will have some resentment for the other girls. Personally i am a Lois fan and dislike Lana because i find her plots annoying and overdone and have 0 problem with Chloe(Chlois though, that's another issue)

i'm not a shipper at all

i dislike erica's Lois because i find her irritating on a basic level

----- Added 58 Seconds later -----

however, in some episode i can stand her

Krypto happens to be one of them, and some of her scenes with Oliver i really enjoyed cause they had a lot of chemistry

as a journalist i find her irritating

I really like lois but I also find her to be annoying sometimes. She is really sarcastic and can be a real ass to clark sometimes. Plus sometimes it gets on my nerves why she thinks clark is such a loser......What does clark do around her to make her think he is a loser?

That is part of why I like her tho, she reminds me of my friends sometimes I love em and sometimes I hate em, but most of the time I love her , like lois!

the weird thing is, i loved the way Teri Hatcher would play Lois - 'you are low man, and i am top bananna'. she even called him nicknames like 'farmboy'

but with Teri's Lois is was always shown as a self defense thing... it wasn't that she actually wanted to put him down, that's just the way she had learned to deal with people if she wanted to be respected. and she warmed to him so quickly when he earned her respect

with ED's Lois it seems a lot of the time like she really does think she is better than him.

I've never seen the lois & clark show with dean and teri, but i think i understand what you mean by the difference. The smallville lois would seem to be a very difficult person to get along with.

Now that I think about, I hardly remember her just being real nice without saying something sarcastic....was she really nice with ollie?

not particularly

but her agressive sarcasm was at it's least when she was with him. i really felt she loved him

I don't think she thinks he is a loser(she once told Lana she would be lucky to find a guy as honorable as Clark) but she sees him as a loner who just wants to live on the farm and have a life like his parents.

And to be honest, since season 4 that's exactly what Clark is(or at least it is who he wants to be).

Lois seems to like to challenge guys(using sarcasm) for her attention. Both AC and Ollie stood up to her when she challenged them and that's why she was interested in them, she could see they were strong(in the sense they confident in themselves). Clark on the other hand backed down the first time she challnged him(the shower scene in Gone) and while i think she is physically attracted to him and likes certain qualities of him personally, until Clark can man up to her it won't happen.

Ah, that's very interesting...I never noticed that before but she does seem to like guys that are extremely confident in themselves. I remember in season 5, there was this one guy who was a hired hitman and she kinda fell for his charm too, because he was confident and I think men who have power kinda intrigues her too, well maybe people who have a goal in life? a purpose?

I don't think it's specifically 1 thing but a combination of all that kind of stuff.

I was just watching this one AGAIN... and there are two dogs, Krypto and the black one... there was a scene where the black one is in a cage and the two pet-shelter guys are there and one of them is teasing the dog with a stick through the bars...

did Anyone notice the colour of the bars around the cage?! - they were a glowing blue.

Now, we know these dogs got their powers from green K... is it possible the blue bars are in fact blue K to counter the strength of them?!

C'mon. season 4 lost us so many viewers, it's the time when Smallville dropped from its primetime monday night slot in the UK, to the tuesday slot with little promotion, cause the viewers recognised the drop in quality shown in crap episodes like this.

Actually if you look at the ratings there was a bigger drop off between S2->S3(~2M) compared to S3->S4(~600k). SV also went up against ratings juggernaut Lost in S4. I personally liked S4 alot because while I thought witch Lana was stupid, it seems like the show cut out a good amount of the angsty stuff in general season 4. I would much rather watch a fun lighthearted episode about Shelby, then stuff that SV tries to pass off as "drama" which is full of angst.

O, I thought you were talking about UK ratings, because i've never been able to find them.
But didn't season 5 go up? Which was full of romance and angst, but had BETTER WRITING.

It also got moved to a better timeslot(which is part of the reason I think S3 tanked compared to S2). S6 took a major drop in ratings though which was angst to the nth degree

Well... I guess I'll give this 7 partially-eaten steaks out of 10 for a pretty cute animal-centric episode. Shelby's introduction to the Smallville universe was pretty adorable, if I'm going to be honest. I liked the way he originally had super-powers, and how Clark wanted to call him Krypto -- cool nod to the mythos. Some of the acting and dialogue seemed a little forced in places for some reason, though, and the villains seemed pretty flat and boring. I liked the way Shelby saved Clark, and then Clark saved Shelby, which made for some neat action moments! The Chlark scenes were really cute as well, and it was awesome how Chloe covered for Clark about the whole "tractor through the fence" incident, even if she didn't have all the facts and probably thought Clark had done it with his abilities.

I also got a question, how could Clark save Shelby(Shelby couldn't run out because the car was surounded by fire)?

There was meteorrock fluid or something.. He became ill from it moments before he saved Shelby so how could he save him?

Wasn't the meteor fluid on top of the cage and when the door opened it spilled all over the floor close to Clark?

At approximately 25 minutes 40 seconds in Mrs Teague explains to Jason that Isabelle vowed to wipe out Gertude's heirs. She then says that Mrs and Jason are Gertude's ANCESTORS. This is a glaring error - ancestors come before, decendents come after.

I'm suprised that this hasen't been mentioned before in this thread!

Probably because most fans of the show could care less of the Lana the Witch storyline and much rather forget it. I love Krypto, but most of the time when I rewatch it I skip over anything witch plot related.

I am like that with the whole season, and Krypto was good overall, as was most of season 4.
