I know she lost her memory and all but she should still have her powers right? I kept thinking maybe she would hit the dude and the guy falls back 30 feet. She then say how the hell did i do that. Did she lose her powers or did she just forget she had them. I thought that was stupid. Don't you all agree?

I think Jorel took them away when he sent her away.

Thats what I don't get at all. Why wouldn't Clark have told her who she was and such. He's the one that knows her the most not Lex.

It'd be kind of like telling someone with amnesia that they are God. Even if it's true, they're not just gonna accept it then go make new Universes. He was likely planning to ease into it but now she's going to be swept off to some place by Lex and he's going to probe her mind.

Thats a great idea. Hey Kara you are really an alien from another planet with superpowers!!

I also think that Jor-El took them away. She probably doesn't have them because she did get injured on her wrist and most likely when people are in danger and they have powers, they'd probably just accidentally uncover them and use them at the moment.

Actually it was Zor-El. That's what Jor-El said, and I'm guessing he didn't lie.

That's just another one of TPTB's cop out to have Kara trust Lex by having Clark neglect to aknowledge the real Lex to Kara. Just like they did with Lana when they wanted her to trust Lex.

why didn't clark just take kara to the fortress? jor-el could have given her powers back (maybe...)

She gets her powers from the sun just like Clark. I'm pretty sure the bracelet is just a bracelet. It could do something for her, I have no idea, but I know she's a kryptonian, and her main powers come from our yellow sun.

Or they could both end up on ice.

Jor-El in Blue said that her powers were not taken by him, so she would probably need to find Zor-El again to get them back. And this presents a likely scenario for the season finale--Kara (or maybe Clark) needing to summon/bring Zor-El back so Kara could get her memory & powers back. At the same time, I think Brainiac will also be involved along with Lex.
I have to say, this season's finale is looking very unpredictable at the moment.

i hate how lex is playing the good guy in front of her, and she's falling for it, she's getting too close to lex

did lex put some tracking device in the bracelet, because in the beginning, on his handheld tracker, it pinpointed a location, but when he got there, it was just the bracelet

No, it was the necklace of the Caretaker of Lost Souls that he gave her in the diner.

Actually, I would like to see Clark going to Jor-el for advise on Kara's predicament. Zor-el clearly did something to take her powers when he transported her out of the fortress and probably Jor-el knows how to fix it. I think Clark should clearly warn Kara of the dangers of Lex without telling her anything until he's spoken to Jor-el.

Sigh, let's face it guys, these powers get lost and swapped too easily. I'm always extremely irritated when someone gets Clark's powers or he loses them yet again. I guess they're doing it with Kara the same way.

Yeah, I've always been partial to the idea that very few things could actually "take Clark's powers away", because the sun would just replenish them. I would think that in order to actually take a kryptonians powers away completely you would have to do one of the following...
1) Take out the yellow sun (or replace it with a red sun).
2)Leave them in constant contact with blue kryptonite.
3)Leave them in constant contact with green kryptonite (which would kill them eventually)
4)Somehow alter their cells so that they no longer act like little batteries constantly absorbing yellow sun radiation.
I'm pretty sure the last one is what has happened to Kara. I can see every one of these things being possible, and some have even happened to Clark, along with the whole kryptonite+electricity+another person= a power exchange thing, which I guess will work because they tell us it does. I guess it just seems out of whack because it has been happening so much lately, but it happens quite a bit in most forms of Superman media, so I just roll with it.
Well, not completely true, I complain while I'm rolling with it!

I totally agree. It was a stupid plot twist. The Smallville producers and writers are incredible. The pre-season buildup was "Supergirl is coming!" So what do the geniuses do? They made a couple episodes where Kara shows her stuff and since then her role is to be a stereotyped female victim. How can anyone possibly enjoy that? I sure don't.

She was injured, ergo powers are gone. On the bright side this means she and Lex can have sex without worrying about the power thing.

I think it could be in response to the massive amount of "fans" who were up in arms when the announcement was made that Kara would be on the show, because they didn't want Clark to be out shined.
It seems like they are trying to make sure that doesn't happen. I never thought it would. I think there is plenty of room on the show for both Clark and Kara, and wish they would move this plot on already. I really don't like wondering what's going to happen with her, but I guess that's the point. In the comics, she seems to move from one bad situation to the next, so it doesn't surprise me at all that they would follow that same path on Smallville, but I'd like her to be able to pause long enough to finish this series out, then move on to her own. We can see all of her trials and tribulations there, but I wish they'd let her get her feet planted under her for a bit on Smallville. Then again, Kara's never really been in one place for all that long before getting herself into some crap that takes her away sometimes unannounced, and almost always unexpectedly.

there was that whole writers strike thing too, i guessing some of these episodes are not really the way the wanted to tell the story. The whole exchange of kara and clark after the rescue was not seen onscreen. Parts that were not meant to be shown in say gemini but they wanted to put them in whatever episode 16 would have been for example. Alot of things get filmed at the same time even though they are not used right away or in the same episode do too convenience location restrictions/availability. With no writers to do re-writes what it is... is what it is.. Though with 5 more epis on the way it will be interesting to see how all of this plays out. Maybe your victim stereotype may be a bit premature but none the less it gets used to some success time and time again.

I've often thought the same thing, not only with Smallville, but other shows. I'll be saying something like "that could have been written just a bit better", then I remember. "Oh yeah" :\

well in the comics continuity, Kara HAS lost her memory, had her powers greatly reduced and taken away (60s, 70s) AND had a brief affair with Lex Luthor (90s) so TPTB are cramming all that together ? its all part of the Supergirl mythology- as far as lies from Lex, of corse he is lying (for someone spposedly grateful that a hot blonde saved his life, he sure has a funny way of showing it) but if Clark wouldnt take the whole CIA-secrecy angle on everything and with everyone, maybe Kara wouldn't be trusting Lex so much

I think Jorel took them away when he sent her away.
but you see Jor-el didn't send her away. Kara's father did, remember Clark asked Jor-el to bring her back and he said he didn't know where she was cause her father's power sent her away. But I don't know, her powers shouldn't be gone:confused:
