I realize that this whole episode wouldn't have come about if Kara and Lois had been found right away, but doesn't it strike anyone else weird that whoever had found Lex, didn't even notice them nearby?

Here comes the explanation...:

Lionel said that a cop/friend of his, who was named Mason found him in a ditch, so it must have been where the bus boy dragged him too, since they never found his GPS system, hence bus boy takes Lois, puts her in that cage thing with Kara and he leaves them there and then Mason dude calls 911 and they take Lex to Smallville, which is what Lionel wanted, but I don't know why, haha.

But still, if Clark just went to Detroit, we would be seeing him run around Detroit, but this episode was much, much cooler, imo.
