Why didnt he just go to Detroit and zero-in on the voices of Lois and Kara. He seemed a pro at using his Superhearing in "Kara" and instructing Kara how to do it.
It would have saved them the ridiculous lengths of going into Lex's mind to figure out where they are...

Thats true....that might have been wise but it was good to see inside lex's mind and see that theres a part of lex that is still good.

because if he did that it would be a pretty boring episode.

Clark doesn't wanna leave Smallville unless it's mandatory.

That was a very witty response, IamProdigy! :D The whole part about going into Lex's mind was incredibly well written! Excellent episode, I thought. Yeah, it would have been boring if the girls had been found right away, when Lex's body was found!

I do try, lol, but, why I don't think Clark used his super-hearing is because Lionel said Lex was found in a ditch, and to my conclusion it seems the bus boy dropped Lex into a ditch that wasn't where he was shot, which makes the most sense why they had to go into Lex's mind.

Clark didn't know Kara was in Detroit or at least I don't think he did

Also, Clark didn't know if Lois and Kara were OK or whether or not they could talk and maybe he didn't want to waste time listening to sounds that may not exist.

defo, he is good with his super hearing now, but it still has its limits
one, its very difficult to pick out one sound in the middle of a city, two, he had no idea where they were, three, its not like either of them knew clark could help so they wouldnt be yelling for him, four, his super hearing does have a limit to how far it can stretch

Of course he does. She's is only living blood kin. And she did, after all, provide him a link up to his mother. And she may be the only way any possible future link to his birth parents and birthplace.

I agree with you Superman of Krypton. Clark did not do his best trying to find kara.
The writers wanted to show a lex-kara relationship.

Plot device. The episode was about going into Lex's mind, we needed a reason. It made for a good episode so I don't really care.

There may be a million people in the world that sound like Kara and Lois so Clark doesn't want to way time, and who's to say that his super hearing even stretching that far?

well i'm sick of that excuse on smallville... im so utterly sick of 'because otherwise it would have been dull'... there are ways of avoiding plot holes and still having a good episode... but no one in smallville can be arsed cause the fans dont even care

CK had no idea where Kara was and his Super hearing only goes so far.

Clarks hearing is not that powerful yet. Not even close. He's no where near the level where he can hear things across an entire city enough to filter out two voices. Sure a strong homing signal like Kara's ship maybe but two people out of millions? No.
And that's just assuming Kara and Lois are actually awake and talking. They could be gagged, knocked out, dead.. No.. as odd as it might seem Lex's memories were his best chance of finding them in the shortest time. Plan B would be to run around at superspeed searching.
