Did anyone else think that when Lana was leaving for a few days at the end it actually worsened (if possible) her character I mean ok they had an argument but her threatening to go to see Chloe (Don't know how they agreed that??) was very childish because if she really loved Clark she would want to prove her love to him by staying with him through this difficult period... this just made her look very childish.

I don't think the purpose was to make the audience "feel" for Clana. The majority of the audience already has strong feelings about Clana. One fifth of the audience can't get enough of Clana and the rest would like for Clana to be given a proper burial. I think the purpose of the scene was to show the deteoriation of the relationship and hint at a another plot development involving more of Lana's secrets. Lana didn't look childish by saying that she was going to stay with Chloe for a few days but it leaves me with the impression that she wasn't really interested in staying and working through she and Clark's issues.

Well after all that they've been through you'd think she'd try a little harder to make things between them work hence why I called her act childish.

I can understand why Lana wanted to move out for a few days, possibly to give Clark some time away from her. First, he was very cold to her in the morning and at the Isis Foundation he told her straight out how he felt about her. If she didn't pack her bags I would have thought it was not normal for Lana. Clark would never tell her to move out.

No. Lana's actions are no different than the several different possible scenarios that go on when a couple fight...one of them being giving each other some "breathing room" to cool off before more things are said that they both might later regret. Lana said that she was spending a few days with Chloe, not that she was leaving him or that they were breaking up. Her actions, to me, were nothing really out of the ordinary after such a heated arguement, she probably felt Clark didn't want her there anyway after what he said...so she was actually making it easier on him in that sense....

I dont think that the writers are forcing clana.. They are just showing us that these characters are really having problems.. and I do think that lana just wanted to give both herself and clark some space to think about what happened to them... I get that she wanted to move in with chloe after all aside from clark lana treated chloe as her family.. and although they might have problems right now.. i think that she still thinks of chloe as her step-sister

The only purpose of those scenes is to great more unnecessary drama and angst between Clana. Just give another reason for some of the fans to hate this relationship even more.

you're right, her actions were normal, many couples go this road when they are in trouble, however, it often is the wrong choice, for it tends to debilitate a relationship that's already on thin ice; it shows one prefers to run away rather than stay and face the problem. Such decision usually ends up wrong and the couple doesn't last.
But anyway, Clark didn't let her go...

yeah, he didn't and I was a little surprised, not a lot b/c I know he is so head over hill 4 Lana, but from the way he was acting earlier, I just knew he was going to hold the door open 4 her. But Lana moving was a good idea, those two needed some space from each other, in order to work things out, and who knows, maybe it is over...

What it looked like to me is Lana like a little child runs away when things get tough. She and Clark had a huge argument so you flee like a coward? If Clark hadn't stopped her she would be at Chloe's or Nell's place.

Not a Clana fan, and it looked like a typical scenario of the girlfriend deciding they need breathing room. It's not abnormal for couples, if anyones been in that situation. After the few days of "breathing room", one or the other usually apologizes and they make up and blah blah blah.

They don't even have to show Lana period, and you guys still find a reason to ***** about things. You say the relationship is old well all of you *****ing about Clana is old. **** this season isn't even clana filled.

The purpose of having Lana possibly go stay with Chloe to show the serious break down in Clark & Lana's relationship. I don't think it makes Lana a bad person but to give them space to re-evaluate things.

Then why didn't she just stop talking when she was fighting with Clark? Let the insults just pour on her.

She simply wanted to make space between them so they could think things through...when you're uneasy with your significant other...it's really hard to think or mend when you have to be around eachother everyday...

I disagree. Getting space does cool off feelings, that's absolutely true, but it also tends to minimize what we feel, we let it go, we try to move on because the anger/tension/resentment of the situation diminishes with distance, so its easier to "forgive and forget".
Yet, the issues that caused the problem are still there, just buried beneath, or way back in the head, and they tend to re-surface when one least expects it, and voila, the problem is still there and now it's been worsened by new disagreements that end up adding too much strain to a relationship.
Staying, facing the problem, communicating and truly understanding the other is the better choice.

no I agree with what you say...but i don't presume to say that she wanted to just "push it under the rug". I'm a full believer in attacking the problem head on..but with an open-mind I've also learned that sometimes people need space to cool, and then when emotions are diffused you can confront...but everyone is different...But my intention for the post was to disagree... she wasn't playing mind games with Clark.

i do believe made her look bad because it showed that maybe she didnt see it fit to fix the problems they were having by staying there with him.

Lana should have given him space, in Persona.
She's got Lex's money, right ? She should have gotten, her own place. Since her return, living together hasn't really helped out their awkward way back to each other.

I just think that she wasnt acting childish... She just wanted to give both herself and clark space so that they could figure things out for a while... She wasnt running away from the relationship she was simply trying to fix it in a way that they wouldnt end up fighting everytime they try to talk about it because their emotions are still fresh...
