Wat does that have to do with wat Lana said. Please explan. I am so easliy confused

It means that by lana dating lex it made clark fell like he faild.

From what I saw, I thought that it meant that Lana was always the one who downgraded Lex this season and made it seem like Lex's love to her was a lie because he said lines like that to her yet Lana's doing the exact same thing to Clark.

I probably read it wrong, though. I'm not sure.

One way to interpret that scene is that she was telling Clark that she couldn't ever seem to do right in his eyes. He was always judging her for her mistakes. His reply basically seemed to tell her that she had poor judgement skills for falling for Lex & Biz.

I may be wrong, but that was just my quick take on it. I'll have to go back & watch it again tonight to see.

I think it has to do with Lana throwing Clark the "the only person Ive ever loved" argument again, when it clearly isnt true, she has fallen for at least 3 other guys: Jason, Lex and Bizarro Clark (who let´s face it was nothing like Clark except phisically)

I actually didn't understand it either and don't care. But your (and Randy G's) explanation seems to fit. Lana makes no sense. Her character is horribly written. Atrociously written. I still think she is full of herself and has no idea what the difference is between what she tried to do to Lex this season and what Lionel's trying to do to Lex.

I agree with nbck. Seeing the one you love fall for two of your nemisis will totally hurt you. Make you feel like you failed them in some way. So I think Clark will just letting her know that he knows exactly what she is talking about. or maybe that he feels even more heart broken that she does.

I think he said that because she said he was the only person she's ever loved. He reminded her that she also fell in love with Lex and the Phantom, so he's doubting that he is the the "only" person she's ever loved.

From the words, themselves - When Lana looks at Clark, she feels like she's failed him. Clark's saying that when he looks at Lana, he feels like he's failed her because she's fallen in love with Lex and Bizarro.

However, his tone of voice sounded accusatory. I think that's why people are thrown off. The writers meant one thing and Welling's acting conveyed another. It came off like he was reminding her that he's not the only person she's ever loved. He's calling her a slut.
