View Full Version : Did Lana Lie When She Said She Was Moving In With Chloe!!!

At the end of the episode when Lana was about to move from The Kent's it seemed strange that she would want to stay with Chloe & that Clark wouldn't have known. I mean CHLOE IS CLARK'S FRIEND WHY WOULDN'T SHE TELL HIM THAT LANA WAS THINKING ABOUT MOVING OUT???
So I was thinking that Lana did this more out of blackmail to get Clark on her side than an actual threat...
What do people think??

What I don't get is this, she's not in high school anymore, she scammed a few million from Lex so why the heck would a grown woman want to stay in a tiny apartment with two other women?
Get a hotel for Pete sakes.
Or on second thought it was a manipulative act on her part......Oh please don't go Lana I don't want this to end...braff...everyone else wants this to end.

I kind of felt like Lana saying she was going to stay at Chloe's was sort of like her saying she was going to stay at Aunt Nell's. I always felt like the Aunt Nell line was an excuse for her to go play at the Isis Foundation so that Clark wouldn't find out.
I just really don't want to think that Chloe and Lana are back on good terms now because I felt like their rift was warranted and fitting for the story. To act like "Wrath" never happened would disappoint me.
Having said that, I hope Lana is lying. :)

No, she wasnt lieng because Clarks best friends with Chloe and it would be so easy for him to find out that she was, if she was. She wants it to work, too how much extent she wants it now, we dont know, but if she wanted to lie/break up with him, she couldve done it another way. She just wants a breather and some time apart from him.

Didn't she say only a couple of days????
Cogito17
02-08-2008, 09:24 AM
Well, I don't think it was a permanent move out, just a couple days to give Clark some space and see where things stand. Also, it seemed like in this episode Lana was attempting to be honest, so it seems kind of a petty lie to tell (unless you believe it was masterminded as an attempt to have Clark take her back).
Also, Chloe and Lana may have had an argument, but it wouldn't be the first time they have had an argument and worked through it. They lived together before, and in previous seasons Chloe has told Lana that she thinks of her like a sister. Considering that Lana is going through a tough time, its not surprising that she would rather be around friends than alone in a hotel.
Is it possible Lana was lying? Yes... but I don't think its probable given the situation.

I think she did but it was kind of stupid lie. Chloe and Clark are best friends. It would be easy to find that she lied. But why would she go to Chloe? They aren't as good friends as they used to be and Chloe is living with Lois. It isn't that big apartnment.

Because Lana is like a box of chocolates you never know what you're gonna get.
But I would have loved if Clark would have said... 'Strange Chloe never told me, wait I'll give her a call' ;)

It was odd that she said she'd be staying with Chloe, considering what happened last time. However, if she was in fact lying, as samanta said, it would be a stupid lie. Chloe tells Clark just about everything.

Did the episode make it clear that she had actually arranged to stay with Chloe? (I tend to fuzz out on Clark/Lana stuff, mostly because it's so repetitive.) For all we know, she was just going to turn up at the Talon, playing the whole, "I don't have anywhere else to go," card, and expecting Chloe to put her up for a few days. Which, considering the state of her friendship with Chloe, would have been the height of gall. But I wouldn't put it past Lana to do something like that.

Exactly, I think that Lana might have been telling the truth about it. And really does Chloe need to tell Clark about it if Lana was planning to tell Clark about it anyways?
Chloe's hidden secrets from Clark before and really I haven't seen them go on a complete honesty pact. In "Noir", Chloe hid Lana's true motives from Clark or in "Fade", Clark found out that Chloe knew about Lexana. Those secrets that she hid are much more important IMO than Lana going to sleep at Chloe's for a couple of days.

She did say "for a couple of days". Unfortunately, Clark says that he wants to give the relationship another try (eurk!) and the epi ends that way. We don't know if Lana left or not, and anyway it was just for a couple of days. Brace yourself, the nightmare is not over yet!

Frankly, I couldn't believe it!
First of all, that Chloe would just have so little spine in her as just to forget what Lana said to her just a few days ago!
Secondly, that Lana would be so shameless as that she could ask anything of Chloe right now, after the way she treated her! But I guess that woman can think of anything, no shame whatsoever!

Lana did not lie, all she said was, " I talk to Chloe and I think I should stay with her for a FEW days". She DID NOT say she was moving in. After what is going on between them (Clark & Lana), the best thing is to get out of each other's hair for a little bit but at the end they did sort out their problems about Bizarro. Clark did not say that he wanted to give their relationship another try, they said their good byes. The apt is going to be cramped a bit. Three single gals, they should hang out and Paaaarteeaaa! Girls Night Out!!
Didnt anyone watch the ending? What happened?

I agree - but I think the writers conveniently forgot how badly Lana treated Chloe, so I don't think their spat will ever be mentioned again.
Although it would be rather cool to have Chloe flip and beat the hell out of Lana, screaming "I told you he was acting weird, but noooo, little prissy Lana's always right!"

I don't think so.
Where the heck would Lana sleep? Lois sleeps in the bed, and Chloe on the pull-out couch. Would Lana sleep on the floor? There isn't any room for her, unless Chloe's moved out of the Talon.

:rolleyes:and when Lana doesnīt lie? lies, crimes and betrayl are common qualities in her.:rolleyes:but I really donīt care where she goes, Iīm just happy that sheīs not in the farm with Clark anymore, I just hope Clark open his eyes and forgets that awful b..ch soon, he deserves someone much better and itīs time he moves on.:)
Actually this issue was nicely covered on "House". Wilson was separating from his wife and was reluctant to get a place on his own (even a hotel) because as House suggested, it would make the break too real. Now Wilson was a doctor, and House is just...an outrageous ass ....who would live with him? Still, better to be with a friend than to be on your own when you are going thru an emotional time.
I think Chloe is supportive of Lana, even if the relationship is strained.

I agree with you on that eventhough Lana and Chloe's friendship is a bit strained, she is still supportive of Lana. Is Lana as supportive to Chloe? The staying at Chloe's part was Lana's idea, Clark never did say he wanted her out, but I guess when the relationship is strained like the way it is, its best to give one another space. They couldnt even look at each other, is that what they said at one point? Either way, I think the last scene said it all. They were saying their goodbyes but will remain friends.

I agree too, Chloe is a good friend and I really do think that she'd let Lana stay with her (and so is Lois since they're all living together), but I don't think Lana has or will ever be as good a friend to Chloe. Clark and Lana look like they are over, I'm not a Clana fan so I was happy for a moment, but those two will most likely get back together.

Anyway, why should she ask Chloe to move in when the apartment is Lois'?

When could Chloe and Lana even have had this discussion? I mean, Chloe had gotten hurt earlier in the episode and when Clark tells Lana what happened, Lana didn't seem to notice or even care...then when Clark is hanging with Chloe at the Planet, Chloe seems like the type who would bring it up to Clark if Lana's at home packing up to leave him. Hahaha...who ever knows whether Lana's telling the truth or not...like Clark said she usually doesn't unless under duress.

I don't think she lied. I think it would be poor judgement on the behalf of the writers to let us think that she has such a great relationship with Chloe that she can crash at her place with no stress. I guess Chloe would do it on Clark's behalf - to give him and Lana some space so that they can work things out, to help Lana get back on track with herself and maybe to help them(Chloe and Lana) become better friends.

I don't think so, she probably said it just to see how Clark would react, which doesn't tell much considering he didn't look like he could care less. Also the fact that Chloe and Lana aren't exactly BFF'S, so that could explain alot.

Exactly what I think too.
In Wrath Chloe warned Lana that Clark wasn't herself & then Lana responds with 'oh you need to get over him' so why would she now all of a sudden put up lana who is leaving Clark ok for a few days over something Chloe herself warned her about.:\
You'd think Chloe's reaction would be more like 'Well I did tell you something was wrong & are you suprised Clark would act this way, hey Lana how would you act in the same situation? Oh that's right you jump up & down like a little girl & then if you don't get your way threaten to leave and you think Clark is being bad to you? silly girl'

I think it was just poor writing and another case of significant stuff taking place in Offscreenville. Based on Wrath, Gemini and Persona, I thought there was still a lot of Chlana tension. Lana's condescending "You don't know Clark like I do!" behavior while she was boinking Bizarro could not have helped.
Then again, everyone does love Lana.

Yeah, she was packing in a public area of the house on purpose so Clark could see her leave and stop her, seriously no one packs in the kitchen unless your planing a picnic.
If she really wanted to move out she would have left before Clark came

Well considering WHERE she was caught packing in Siren, I think she has a thing for kitchen, perhaps she was planing on laying her bed on the kitchen island (I think there is a smallone) but then again Lana is petite so...

If Lana showed up at the Daily Planet with weepy eyes and asked Chloe in a soft voice, "Chloe could I say with you and Lois at the Talon for a few days." I doubt Chloe would say no. *sigh* It's one of Chloe's weaknesses. Her Achilles' heel.
However, why doesn't Lana stay at the Isis foundation? Or get an apartment?
I think chloe was just respecting lana and giving her a chance to tell clark herself.
Don't see why lana would lie about it, she obviosuly knows clark and chloe are close.

Besides that, isn't it terribly inconsiderate of Lana to stay with Chloe? As you said, Chloe and Clark are close and by going to stay with her, Lana would put a strain in their friendship, placing Chloe in the middle of the couple's fight and causing her problems with Clark.
... unless that was her evil plan all along... Muahaha! ;)

^I really don't see a problem between Clark and Chloe, they are just too tight. If anything, Chloe would defend Clark in any discussion Lana brings up. At think at this point, Lana is better off not bringing Chloe into it.
