View Full Version : Chloe can't heal herself?

So far, we've seen Chloe able to heal other people. Well, I couldn't help but notice how a simple cut on her face couldn't be immediately healed with her powers. I'm assuming she can't heal herself.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. Which kind of sucks even more.

Maybe her powers doesnt work that way, or the writer goofed.

WORD. Because I'm going to need more than just a scene with her healing Jimmy's finger.

She probably can, but I don't really see the point. She's going to repair a wound on herself that she'll end up taking the pain for anyways? Isn't it better to just deal with it and go on? :\ Like if she gets stab and she heals the stab wound, won't she still have to take the pain of the stabbing anyways which will end up hurting her regardless?
i'm thinking they're gonna kill Chloe :[[
I know what you mean. :( I hope that they don't. Her power is very risky...

I actually wondered that too. Which worries me...cause that means the writers can kill her off. Or...it could have just been a goof, and she needed a scracth on her face so Clark could freak out when he saw it?

i just think they've made up the character whos one of the best on the show IMO and since shes not in the mythology she cant really have a role so i fear shes going to go :[
but i sure hope not:(

Chloe being able to heal herself would be a contradiction anyway. She takes on the injury (as seen when she healed Jimmy) to heal. So healing her own injury would just make it come right back.

I dont want Chloe to die....but like I've said before. If Chloe and Clark start a relationship...she dies, and that jump starts Clark into becoming Superman, she wouldnt die in vein. Dont get me wrong, I would still hate it...but at least that way Chloe left her mark...and they didnt just kill her for the sake of killing her. It all sucks...who am I kidding?

I posted this on another thread but I'll post here too.
If I'm not mistaken I think there was a blooper with Chloe's scar. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but when Clark went to see her at the DP there was one point during the conversation that her scar was gone and then a few seconds later it was back.

There's always side affects to her healing. It was important to show Jimmy but maybe it's best nit to use it all the time if it's not necessary.
But yes she did heal pretty fast.

I agree with this, definitely.
But plus, she already died at the beginning of this season and she 'came back to life', and doesn't that show that her body does have the ability to recuperate? Maybe she just can't do it willfully or something heh.

I don't think they'll, something i'm sure and always was is that Chloe will have her happy ending.

Well to be fair it's only a flesh wound, nothing all that serious. I think Chloe can heal herself when it comes to severe injuries like falling from a three story building ad such.

Which meteor infected character ever had a happy ending?
Which meteor infected character ever had a happy ending?
That dude Kevin from "Blank"!
He had a crummy middle, but finding out the truth he was able to walk away from the situation happy-ish, plus he saved Clark's butt from Lois and the sheriff finding out about his secret.
But yeah, that's the only example I can think of heh.

A lot of the people infected didnt have an amazing personality like Chloe though, and I think that makes all the difference in the world. Chloe would forfit her own life before she would hurt people with her powers (which i'm not even sure how that possible). I'm afraid Lex is going to finally get ahold of her....which will be one of the many reasons why lex and clark end up being enemies....more so then they are now.

Although she's taking in the pain again when she uses the power, I don't think it's to the same effect. It's not like she'll get another cut when she heals it. When she healed Jimmy's cut, she didn't get a cut on her finger. She just felt some pain, so if she didn't want people to know that she's been in trouble (cuts and bruises from her work as Watchtower), she could just heal and seal her cuts.

No I don't think so, it's the lighting, I mean when they were talking, the wound was either hidden by her hair or the shadow on her face. The wound was there all along :)

Unfortunatley, I also think after watching Siren last night that Chloe may die. The whole going behind Clark's back to moonlight for Oliver thing. Clark REALLY freaked out with both Chloe and Oliver about this one. Making it seem like Chloe is vulnerable or something, and if her not being able to heal herself is the case......I don't want Chloe to go.

I'm thinking maybe not able to heal herself - it's not like a regenerative thing and I'm not too botherd by it, because it was only a larger scrape. It would be nice to know what she can and can't do though.
I don't belive Chloe will be killed off

I think Chole dying (while I love her character, and I would love them to get back to the closeness Clark and her had in season 6) it is the perfect catalyst to Clark finally saying ENOUGH is ENOUGH! I can hear the courageous music now, with the famous stone determination face Tom gives Clark, and boom it is then, it that moment that Clark decides she will not die for nothing. Lex will not get away with killing his best friend. In Chole's honor he finally makes the turn as Superman. I think this could be a great ending to her character. Since we will never fully get for Chole to have her chance with Clark, romanitcally, this will be a great way to have her relationship forever effect Clarks life, and the world will owe her a silent debt, for helping Clark realize he can be something more. Would be a cool way to get the Justice League back for a small reunion (maybe even get Martha back for a sec) for her funeral, to see all the Superhero lives she touched. I don't think you could ask for more of a ending for Chole.
Moreover, it could be just the thing needed to propel Clark to fly, as she is the only person (other then Kara) who throws in his face he needs to learn to fly!

Chloe not being able to heal herself is just another reason why her "power" sucks.

Exactly, and if thats the case...Chloe's death wont totally be in vein. If they just kill her for the sake of killing her...I will be PO'd. :rotfl:

But I thought Chloe actually COULD heal herself--it just takes a bit of time, right? Or else how could she have come back to life in "Bizarro" after taking on Lois's knife wound? She didn't spend weeks healing in a hospital bed; she woke up in the morgue and was fine. What other explanation for that could there be?

I totally agree with what you said here. If all Chloe could do was heal other people by taking on the full extent of their injury like some in here have suggested, then Chloe would taken on the full extent of Lois's injury, which was death, and stayed dead. I think that when she heals other people she takes on their injury and then she herself heals; the more worse the injury, the longer it takes to heal. Whether she can heal her own injuries, I can't see why not. I don't think it's instant healing though, but it probably is faster than the average recovery period for people.
In regards to the reason Chloe didn't heal overnight in this episode was probably because the writers wanted that confrontation scene between Clark and Oliver, and that would only happen if they momentarily put aside any notions of self-healing so Clark would be able to question Chloe's scratches. The writers clearly were not clever enough to come up with some other scenario that would give the same results.

yeah, I think that's the idea..if she cures others by taking their pain why would she want to do that..also i think her use of the power is linked to her compassion for other people - not to say that she doesn't want to heal herself, but it would only work for others.
Yep, that's my guess and I'm sticking to it! lol :)
