On posted this on the Persona board that they were starting to give Lana some of Chloe's computer functions. It seems that she might be getting even a little better. Even Chloe noticed this and made a comment: "upgraded to a new improved version." Makes you wonder what TPTB are trying to do? Hmm.

Seems to me that comment was more sarcasm than actual "Lana is getting better than me at this." And Clark reaffirmed that she could never be replaced.

Lana's not taking Chloe's place. Not gonna happen cap'n.

Chloe sounded surprised and a little disappointed in herself for not figuring it out. Lana will soon be the newest reporter at the DP.

Chloe may have called Lana the new improved version but Clark quickly squashed the notion that Lana would ever replace her.

No. Heck, maybe. THe writers write characters so completely different from episode to episode. A year ago, I never thought Lana would be a comp. hacker. I don't think Chloe was being sarcastic. I think she thought Lana had really good computer skills and beat her on cracking this case.

With the money she has now, she can learn whatever she wants LOL

But i agree, it didn't mean she is better than Chloe or anything, i think it was an excuse so Clark could say that she will never be replaced.

I thought Lana's computer skills were pretty good when she was going through her Astronomy stage. I would not say she was a hacker at that point her life though.

Yeah, I think that Lana might be stepping up, but can never really replace Chloe. And if Lana meant what she really did when she spoke to Lionel about being the best person she can be for Clark, then I think that she might wanna tone that down a little. I think that Clark wants Chloe to be his computer friend and Lana and Lois to help him with other stuff.

I think Chloe was just fishing for compliments. She wanted Clark to re-affirm that she would never be replaced. Which....to me...once again proves Clark shouldnt be with Lana. He was more then willing to put Lana down to make Chloe feel better. He was like...she came through, but you rock! (of course...not the actual words). Which is fine by me, bring on the Chlark!

I see what you are saying AndiGirl (and I always love your sparkle pic), but he seemed to be trying to make Lana feel better in the end, albeit only by making himself look bad. Probably not the best way to make another person better. "Hey, yeah, you're kind bad, but so am I!"

Like I mentioned in another thread, the writers are so desperate to "fix Lana" (because, let's face it. This character has been a complete mess since season 4), that they are trying to make of her some sort of Chloe/Lois/cool chick combination. It ain't gonna work, IMO. It's too late to fix such a gigantic mess.

Well, looks like Clark is on the road to becoming a mess with his wishy-washiness.

Lol, Thanks! I dont remember who made my icon, but they should get some credit! haha. It was someone on the boards. Any way..I know what you mean...he did seem to want to console Lana, but the way he went about it was all wrong. It was nice to see that Clark knows he isnt perfect, because he does have ridiculously high standards sometimes. But he just seemed to panic, and started blurting out whats wrong with him to get her to put her bags down.

Remember in VOID, she told Clark she will never let herself be that dependent on anyone again? Well, thats what she is doing, learning how to do things on her own and not need any help from anyone.
I still want to know who the "we" part when Lana was having that discussion with Clark at the Foundation.

Who is "we"?

AndiGirl
02-07-2008, 08:59 PM
I think it was implyed that the "we" was her and Bizzaro

Yeah, Clark has issues.

"Yeah, Lana I know you like almost killed somebody. But this one time, I almost like killed someone, too, like. Yeah, so don't like leave. 'Cause this one time I was like gonna leave the farm. Well, I like really did leave but I like came back you know. So stay........like"

It's ridiculous. Flee Lana, flee now! This guy is all over the place.

Chloe is one of the only characters staying true to who they are -AND THEY ARE EVEN YANKING THAT AWAY FROM HER

The fact that Chloe called Lana the new and improved version just feeds into my grand theory of how Lana is really Sageeth - a "two-headed Hydra", to use her own words, engineered to destroy Naman. Just look at that cave wall painting. That's a two-headed monster right there. All of this will in all likelihood be revealed in the upcoming episodes.

Chloe is obviously on the verge of uncovering the truth.

Presuming Wikipedia is accurate, the answer to your question is that Lana is now the CEO of LexCorp:

Years later, the post-Crisis Lana eventually married Pete Ross. The two settled into a quiet life in Smallville, where they had a son they named after their mutual friend, Clark. Pete began a career in politics that got him elected to the United States Senate. In 2000, Senator Ross became Lex Luthor's vice presidential running mate in Luthor's bid to become President of the United States, and after the two won, Lana moved to Washington, D.C. Eventually, Luthor was forced from his office, and Pete Ross became president (and Lana the First Lady of the United States). Lana began to subtly attempt to regain Clark's affections, much to the anger of his (now) wife Lois Lane. Pete and Lana briefly reunited after Superman saved them from being killed by the villainous Ruin in Adventures of Superman. In Superman #654, Perry White reported that Lana had become CEO of LexCorp following the ousting of founder Lex Luthor.
