Still the best relationship Clark has, though slowly and surely, Lois is starting.
She knows him better than he knows himself at times and he knows it.
I do dislike how he tends to use her a tad too much, I would love to see them in scense where they are just hanging out and being best friends cause, in reality, that is what they are.

I loved them ! I loved how Clark was so protective :) It was so cute and what he said about her being "the best sidekick in town" was adorable ! He actually said "I'm not about to let Oliver approach the best sidekick in town". The Chlark scenes were great and Clark really shows how much he cares about Chloe, even telling her that "he doesn't want to see her getting hurt". Just wonderful scenes and chemistry and I love Chloe's lines, so Chloe-like :D

Clark is certainly being a very good friend to Chloe in this episode. Just look how protective he was over Chloe when he found out Oliver had been putting her in danger, he raked Oliver over the coals for it.

Whoa!! Clark certainly blew at Oliver for putting Chloe in danger. I love how protective he is over her. The first scene at the DP was very cute too, the way his face fell when he saw Chloe had been hurt.

The best sidkick in town; I liked how clear he was that nobody was going to take Chloe place in his life :)

So... how many times they retcon flashbacks so their hair color matches the current timeline? I mean, Chloe's mom was a short blond hair woman at the end of Tomb but then made her a Long brunette haired woman In Progeny.

Is possible that her hair grew darker when she grew up and decided to dye it close to the color she had whem she was a child. Women are crazy like that :D. Also she could being a real redhead so I won't say much on the matter till she stars to wear her natural color again.
However I don't know why is such a surprise to confirm she dyes her hair since she had experimented on it since we meet her.
I hope she dyes it blue or green one of this days that will be so fun :D

On a side note: I think is more telling the outed Clark as not gay. Only real men won't notice the dye job after many years of hanging with a woman. A gay man will know the second the dark roots appeared! :D

Yeah about that, I don't know if it's me or if I didn't understand what was really meant by Chloe's line about her hair, but what I understood is that it's not because on the picture of Dinah Lance her hair are black that she's not in reality a blonde.
I thought that Chloe wanted to tell Clark that she could be "as blonde as her" (a real blonde) but wearing a wig on that picture.

Any thoughts ? :\

I was like that at first, but then my American husband explained it better LMAO. I think ti's the english meaning. But she goes: "Why because she's not blonde ? Please Clark, the new bad girl could be as blond as I really am."

She said that the bad girl (BC), who is blond, could be as blond as she[chloe] really is, meaning she isn't a blond like Dinah.

Chloe and Clark were amazing together in this episode. It was so incredible to see Clark be so protective and possessive over Chloe.

It's funny how he told Chloe that he wouldn't let Ollie poach her from him. We don't see Clark go so alpha male that often. It was nice that for once, the subject of his protection was worthy of it.

Allison Mack and Tom Welling show again what great chemistry they have.

I've only seen the first one so far, but I love they're chemistry together as just best friends. Clark's there to "girlfriend" dish and he's so much more the girl there than Chloe is. They're fun, comedic timing is precious. It's even better to watch it shift gears to Clark being protective of Chloe. Best part of all is his yelling at Ollie.

Chloe's HIS, damn it.

I feel like this shows how much he loves her even if he hasn't figured it out yet. I can't see him being as concerned and territorial about Pete. Really, that whole alpha male bit was way more than just a losing a friend/sidekick ordeal.

She means everything to him.

In the Clana scene, he can't even promise her the future, but just like in Labyrinth, he can't replace Chloe.

Also, as for the blonde line. My sister was toe-headed until she was about 12 and now she dyes it. A lot of girls start blonde and their colors darken so much that they do start dyeing.

Chloe's a brunette now. Ahem, let that chlois anvil drop.

Yeah I get that. But I still think that she sounded sarcastic about Clark because he seems so naive in that moment. Just because in the picture they're looking at, the woman isn't blonde, doesn't mean that she's not a real blonde just wearing a dark wig, in order to protect/hide her secret identity :)

So it would be like : "Why because she's not blonde ? Please Clark, the new bad girl could be as blond as I really am. Maybe she's just wearing a dark wig. Here we go, raven black, canary yellow..."

I have a friend who was blonde when she was younger but went really dark as she grew up so it happens.

That's exactly what happened to me :) I was born with really really dark hair, then became a blonde then my hair became darker with years. Now I'm a dark-blonde (don't know if that makes sense) but in French that means that I'm blonde but not the same blonde as Allison Mack for instance. It's like a fair brown, but still it's blonde

I was really happy to see Chloe be hard on herself when Lana caught something she didn't. Chloe has been very off this whole season. Chloe is Miss Overachiever and very competitive and we haven't seen that zeal and drive very much at all. It's like it was zapped away from her which has zapped her spirit and her strongest personality feature. I want that old competitive, driven Chloe back asap. I hope that scene is a sign that she's back for good.

Clark's line was he wasn't about to allow Ollie to poach the BEST sidekick in town. If Chloe is the best, then Clark's saying he is the one who isn't going to settle for less. There is no possibility of trading up if Chloe is the best. He's saying that letting Ollie have Chloe and making due with Lana would be a downgrade! That is a pretty strong compliment to Chloe from Clark.

lol, I loved Clark's "I don't want to talk about this anymore" That made me laugh.

I really enjoyed Chloe laughing a little at Clark babbling about Lana and his "I don't wanna talk about it anymore".

I also loved that he's bringing her lunch (even though, he's so distracted by Lana that he's messing it up) and he noticed her injury.

Clark saying that he didn't want Oliver to steal away his sidekick was pretty adorable. The way Chlark looked at each other was very cute and that comment seemed to really make her feel good and needed.

I don't know if we should blame the meteor power for zapping away Chloe's zeal and spirit. I don't have an explanation for it. Hopefully, Chloe will get back into things and take steps to keep everything she values.

I will confess that when Clark looked at her after that line, I imagined him wondering if the curtains matched the rug or what the deal is. It's shameful, I know, but for some reason, that popped into my head when Chloe said that line and Clark looked at her like this was some big revelation to him. I mentioned this to someone else last night and they admitted they had the same thought and said they thought it would be a lot of people's reactions to the topic. Maybe our minds just reside in the gutter.

SO much love for the Chlark in this episode!! Finally, we see the Chlark partnership I've missed all season long. Clark and Chloe work together, he essentially calls her irreplaceable, and he clearly seems a bit jealous of her work with Ollie.

I loved Clark going all alpha!male about Chloe's safety, too, even though Ollie had a good point about Chloe being in danger when she works with Clark, too. I got the feeling that Clark was mentally puffing out his chest and thinking, "The difference is, *I* can take care of her."

Add to that a massive Chlois anvil (when Chloe hints broadly that she's not a natural blonde!), and my Chlark/Chlois loving heart is happy. :)

Gah, the Chlark rocked in this episode. He's so protective of her, looking seriously pissed and shaken in the Cloliver scene. Clark is back (complete with a backbone and a set of balls he doesn't have to throw around in the loft) and Chloe is back!

Was I the only one like freaking out at the two giant chlois anvils in this episode? I see it's been mentioned but to me they seemed big.

-Her natural hair color being revealed officially
-Lois saying she couldn't share someone with a bigger destiny then their relationship.

To me the second one is huge. Although she could easily change that, when Clark was trying to convince her to change her mind it seemed like wasn't going to with saying "I can't face another heartbreak down the road". Chloe on the other hand would willingly share Clark with the world, at least that's the impression I've always had.

My Chlois heart was exploding but my Clois heart was melting all over the floor with that friggen sweet scene :D!!!

I would love the chlois theory as long as it doesn't involve a Lois death because I love the character that Lois plays on the show. Either way I will be happy whatever direction the writers take it in the end. I honestly believe they could go either way and it would fit. The Chlois theory isn't that twisted of an idea when simply all Chloe has to do is take her cousin's name and her backstory.

I know everyone says Clark loves Chloe's most of all, but if you loved someone wouldn't you notice they don't like ham and swiss and they have a cut/bruise on their face?
Clark is using chloe as a side kick not as a girlfriend/love in my opinion.

Wait, how many minutes, did he spend with her, before he even NOTICED she was hurt ? lol
AND why was he bringing sandwiches, she didn't care for ? Thought I heard something, about him wanting to get away from the farm.
YUP that screams true love, when you use somebody like that.
Because he is distracted by Lana. And while he's with her in his head he won't notice anything about Chloe and about Lois too.

brining the sandwiches she did not like was a big mistake on clark's part.
not noticing the bruise even worse.
I know everyone says Clark loves Chloe's most of all, but if you loved someone wouldn't you notice they don't like ham and swiss and they have a cut/bruise on their face?
Clark is using chloe as a side kick not as a girlfriend/love in my opinion.

so? It doesn't seem like Clark knows everything about Lana. The one he suposively loves.

And yet he got so outraged that she'd been put in danger that he went and verbally attacked Ollie and actually showed his teeth. Clearly he was distracted in the beginning of the scene, but the minute he noticed she was hurt, he was totally focused, and very, very mad. Guys don't get that protective and alpha over girls they don't have some romantic interest in, IMHO.

It's a very weak theory. With many flaws.

And in reality it's really just a pipedream.

The reason why it'll never happen lies within this simple riddle.

What is it that no man wants to have, yet no man wants to lose?

It isn't that outlandish when you think about it. Yes Lois has the family background, quick whit, habits, and look of Lois Lane, but her writing background and drive for writing (which is one of the more important IMO) is very weak. Lois was hired at the Daily Planet because of her personality and possibly her body judging by the relationship that went down with the guy who hired her lol. Did he even publish a story of hers? I remember her complaining about that. This whole thing pisses me off because I love the character of Lois, I love Clois together, and yet part of the thing that makes her iconic is severely lacking. Yes she is NOW starting to get into writing but most of the Lois Lane interpretions I've heard had a Lois that was ALWAYS interested in journalism.

Say that Lois were to die (which god I hope not) or Lex threatened Chloe's life in some way where Chloe took Lois's name to either honor her dead cousin or keep herself safe/make sure she can continue writing for the DP (as Lionel had stopped her from doing in the earlier seasons). She already has the lifelong interest in journalism with Perry White as her childhood hero, a passion for the unknown, quick whit/snarkyness, and apparently now brunette hair . If she truly wanted to put on a facade that she was Lois, it wouldn't be hard to fool those that didn't know of EDLois before hand. She could just take her backstory (IE family) and all that.

In all honesty Al/Miles has already changed many important things from the comics. EDLois already knows Clark Kent without glasses and has noticed strange things about him. Although in defense of that, Iconic Lois Lane is farely dense when it comes to connecting CK and Superman LOL!! So they could easily go in either direction without it stretching the imagination that much. Because if Lois stays Lois (which I'm not stupid, she probably will) then that will be hard to convince how she doesn't notice that CK is Superman. So either way the stories for the future are both a little sketchy. I think that Al/Miles has fun playing with the fans because I'm sure they knew we would go crazy over the hair thing xD

To me personally I would be happy with Clois or Chlois as I stated before. EDLois is a great Lois, I just wish writers would write her more journalistic while Chloe could be my Lois anyday :)

Sorry to have rambled on but I just thought I'd put a little defense in on both sides for that new person who wasn't sure about the theory.

actually I agree...if there was any relationship that I woulda supported in SMALLVILLE if it had occured from the beginning would be between Clark and Chloe...but I simply never saw that occuring because Clark has never loved Chloe in a romantic way (and he is stupid for not doing so) and now it's simply too late.

well , i missed the first 15 minutes of this epi :(, but from what I saw it definitely goes down in my book as a "Chlois" episode. :) the evidence is even in scenes with Lois and others, but especially in the Chlark scene with the hair remark and the sidekick mention together. :)

The Clark/Chloe scenes in this episode were wonderful. They really scratched an itch that I've had sense season 5. One scene was so reminiscent of Season 5. Clark was whining about Lana, not noticing Chloe's scraped face and Chloe was taking it all in stride with an amused smile doing her own thing. Oh that's what I HUNGERED for during Season 5 and now I've got it. YUM! That was nice.

I love Chlark investigations also so those scenes were fun. :)

The Lana vs. Chloe hacker wars scene was a bit nauseating. But Allison Mack made it work.

I think Al/Miles will come up with something at the end about Clark, Lois and Lex. My guess is something very bad and sad happens and Clark is devasted, and Jor-El has no other way than to erase Clark from Lois and Lex's memories. And erase the person that caused the huge pain to Clark from his memory so he'll fulfill his destiny. I always thought of Chloe's death at the very very end of the series (especially if she's not introduced in the comics) as of the cause of the pain. But I swear Chloe's my favorite character since day 1, so I don't want to see her die anytime soon, but if and I said IF Al/Miles plan to kill her off the show, the last episode of the series would be the best moment, but I think for all Chloe's fans and Chlarkers like me too ;)

Don't you think ? Any thoughts ?!!:\

What a great Chlark/Chloisy episode this was! I loved how protective he was of her and loved how she was *wired* about BC's jump and it's so natural for Chloe to work the heros. Loved how Clark was bringing her lunch -tooo cute! Loved Clark's line about not letting Ollie poach the best side kick in town or something to that extent. This ep sunk a lot of assertions people have been making lately, such as Lana is replacing Chloe which Clark plainly said she is not, that Chloe is not a natural blond for those who didn't get that several seasons ago and most importantly, that EDLo, who admitted she is too selfish to share a hero with the world, is not in any way the real Lois Lane. So Clois isn't starting and it never will. That was made plain for those who missed Bizarro's earlier comment when he said he couldn't believe Clark never saw EDLo the way he did and we must remember Biz had Clark's memories and knows Clark's innermost feelings. So, if EDLo not being able to type and blaming her keyboard for it as well as sleeping with her boss and getting favors as a result despite the fact that she can't write wasn't enough then here's announcement from EDLo's own lips. I can’t do what Lois Lane has to if she’s the love of Superman’s life; I’m not the real deal.

Plus the Chlark scenes were full of Clark’s caring for Chloe and they were, as always, full of genuine chemistry. They bounce off one another in such fun ways and they’re always a pleasure to watch. Contrast that with the dull Clana scene in which Clark blurts out he stole a car as if that was the same as withholding medical care from a sick woman, a scene that was off in several ways and in which the actors didn’t seem to really connect, and it’s easy to see why Clark and Chloe are fan favorites and why so many people have always thought Chloe was the real Lois Lane of this show.

The chemistry between Clark and Chloe is just out of this world! Seeing Clark being all protective over Chloe was very refreshing and something that I've been waiting to see for some time now! I mean, he has been protective over her in the past, BUT NOT like he was with her in SIREN:) The look on Clark's face, when he noticed that she was hurt was PRICELESS!!!! I LOVED her reaction to his concern! Chloe actually tried to ignore him, but I guess she just couldn't resist those baby blue puppy dog eyes...hehe:p Also, Clark chewing out Oliver was soooooooo SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! I noticed something in the exchange at the DP when Clark sees that Chloe's hurt. Is it just me or at one point he kinda/sorta x-rayed her? The scene plays out as follows -

Clark: What happened to your face?

Chloe: First of all, did you seriously not notice this until just now?

Watch next how Clark does the head to toe gaze which looks like as if he's x-raying her for broken bones. To which, she replies.

Chloe: Don't worry Clark. I'm fine.

No one's saying that.

Chlark can happen. But silly, fancruft, nonsensical, pipedream theories that go against the mythos can't.

There's no need to ruin a good thing like Chlark by having Chloe sink so low, by doing something that would make her no better than the average con artist.

I was watching smallville with my friend and I, asked her the same thing. Oh my god, I'm glad that I'm not alone on that one.:D

Oh, yeh! Thx for the confirmation Khyla, Chlarker2008.

Okay, seriously people, how much must it be repeated that you should talk about the show and not other posters?

Revisit the board rules. It's not difficult. It's often the same people casting judgments on other people around here and it's really getting kind of annoying.

You can disagree with a theory without putting down the people who believe in it.

After rewatching today, I'm going to have to agree that he may have slyly done the xray check. We didn't have the squint but it was a deliberate up/down and Clark doesn't just "check out" girls -- he was looking for damage. Gee Clark, boundaries?

Yep and I also liked how Black Canary on seeing and hearing lois, made an evaluation of her and told Oliver what bad taste he had in women (meaning lois). And when lois was weeping on Clark's shoulder, he was completely unaffected by her, just lent her a shoulder to cry on.

Good one for Clark and Chloe in this episode.

I've LOVED Chlark AND Bizarroe this season...the interaction and tension between Chlana and Chlarkana is SO SO much better than the bland "Promise" crap we got second half of last season.

i agree. they are finally getting back on track with the believable, more realistic, relationship and dynamic between them. And don't you just love those quality Chlark scenes? :)

It would be really nice if there could be a shipper thread for an episode that didn't turn into a bash of the rival for their choice character's affections.

Having said that, I liked how Clark made it clear that Chloe has a place of importance in his life that Lana will never fill. It was very cute.

I liked how Clark dismissed Chloe's wound and the whole sandwich thing.I also liked that Chloe hided from Clark that she was secretly working with OQ behind his back.I'm pleasantly surprised about how the Clark/Chloe relationship is drifting apart this season.I hope it stays this way.

Well this thread isnt supposed to praise the light that shines out of Chloe's ass isnt it?That's my honest opinion about Chlark not only for Siren but the whole season.I may have big problems with Chloe but as far as Chlark is concerned I'm ok with it right now.

I liked how Clark dismissed Chloe's wound and the whole sandwich thing.

I liked that he couldn't stand to be at the farm with Lana. I liked that he couldn't believe that Lana couldn't tell him from a phantom. I liked that Chloe was the one he was talking to and I liked how Clark forgot about Lana once he noticed that Chloe was hurt.

I also liked that Chloe hided from Clark that she was secretly working with OQ behind his back

I liked that Chloe knew Clark would be overprotective about what she was doing. I liked that she defended what she was doing in such a cute way and I loved that Clark's first concern was for her safety. I also loved the way Clark blew up at Oliver for putting Chloe in danger. I think his words were..."..anyone but Chloe."

I'm pleasantly surprised about how the Clark/Chloe relationship is drifting apart this season.

I liked Clark reassuring Chloe at the end that no one could take her place and the sweet way they looked at each other.

Just a little tid bit...if you aren't a Chlark fan....you dont have to post here or read anything we write. I dont understand why people get so worked up that we support a future Chlark relationship. As far as I know nobody in this forum asked you to share their view, did they? I dont support Clana or Clois, but I dont tear them down either. So please respect our opinions and our right to state our opinions without making things ugly. :)

I liked how Clark dismissed Chloe's woundHe didn't dismiss her wound. When he saw it he showed concern and when she told Clark that she got it from helping Oliver, he went to Ollie's penthouse and told him that he shouldn't be putting Chloe in danger. I don't call that dismissing.

I'm pleasantly surprised about how the Clark/Chloe relationship is drifting apart this season.I hope it stays this way.The Chlark was drifting apart this season, but I think after this episode they are back to being close again, of course YMMV.

"I'm not about to let Oliver approach the best sidekick in town".

I'm late on this thread, but I heard the line as "...to let Oliver POACH the best sidekick..." as in "steal."

I also interpreted the blonde comment not as outing Chloe as a dye blonde, but that the brunette was actually the Canary...that the brunette "is as blonde as I am..."...the brunette hair is a wig...she's actually blonde.....

Chloe's hair could be pink for all I care. Groucho Marx said it best, "I like any color at all, even bald."

I will confess that when Clark looked at her after that line, I imagined him wondering if the curtains matched the rug or what the deal is. It's shameful, I know, but for some reason, that popped into my head when Chloe said that line and Clark looked at her like this was some big revelation to him.

I love that line.
Sounds like a great episode. I will have to download it and watch it in full.

I think it was implying Chloe isnt a natural blonde. I think Clark said the woman couldnt be the canary because she isnt blonde...then Chloe says "she could be as blonde as I really am" Then Clark gives her hair a once over. To me that implied Chloe isnt blonde. Thats what I got from it. :p

It was Bizarro who didn't want to see Chloe because he knew how tight Clark was with her.

Clark in this very episode, let Chloe know she was very important to him. So I would say that your interpretation is incorrect.

That Lois scene wasn't anything special. She could have been saying that to any guy she's ever come in contact with and it would have been much the same. Hell, a brick wall with arms for a hug would have been about the same as Clark in that situation.
