Someone says something nice about the show and the automatic assumption is sarcasm. Sad state.

OP: Those were some great effects for his release, and Terrance Stamp as Jor-El delivered his lines spot on as always.

That was pretty kewl I gotta admit. I had a 'Supermanly' feel to it and no, I'm NOT being sarcastic.

Although Jor-el was the one that froze him in there in the first place, so it was kinda like Jor-el relenting to release him, not because he wanted to but because he didn't have a choice. However it was neat enough looking that I could ignore that. See Midgard, I told you in another thread that I can be a shallow b*tch. I'm like a dragon, show me some sparkling pretty gems and I'm easily distracted and dazzled. ;)

I did like how Jor-el was totally pulling a Kryptonian "Get the Hell outta my house!" when Bizarro showed up. I don't know why, but that made me laugh.

Curious, was the purpose of the ice prison just a punishment (like go to your room, your grounded), or was Clark's brain getting some of his training?

I don't know . . . I was kinda hoping he was getting a download (NOT a brain wash though) but he didn't seem any different after he got out. So I'm thinking it was just a punishment, or maybe Jor-el was trying to give him some training ala Matrix Upload but Clark was resisting like always.

Then again there was a lot of things going down in the episode for Clark to deal with, so maybe he did get some downloadable training content and we don't see that until later episodes. I mean he was so preoccupied with getting to Bizarro that he didn't even get mad at Jor-el for turning him into a Clark-sicle.

When Clark doesn't take an oppourtunity to a have a row with his old man you know some serious sh*t is going down.

I saw Clarks punishment as a way for Jor-El to remove Clark from the ones he loves. Let those people move on without Clark. That way Clark would have no attachments to keep him from his training.

Clark was on ice till the end of the writer's strike! All kidding aside, I was very moved by the whole scene. It seems that the gap between episodes has been so long, that when we do get one, it seems like a season premier or finale.;)

I'll say this: it looked cool, but still aggravates me he was in time out in the first place. I hate the way Jor-El is on this show.

Is the strike finally over?

I did like the effects, but it was a huge letdown. Jor-El was written to be incredibly stupid and dangerous (like a maniac). He took away Earth's only hope when 2 very dangerous beings are/were around. Even if he doesn't know about Brainiac yet, he should have known about Bizarro. He knows Bizarro's weakness and knows Zor-El caused the eclipse. That was a very BDAI move on his part. It was also a huge loss of potentially building up the season ending plot. A wasted opportunity. I didn't like how they focused on Bizarro's effects on Clana.

Now that would be a cool outcome.

BDAI LOL! :rotfl:
Well, Clark had to get his BDA-ish-ness from somewhere...

Anyway, That really was a great scene! I loved the affects!
I was also happy to see that it seems I was right - looks like Jor-El really was trying to cut Clark off from his loved ones so that he'll stop being all distracted. If I were Jor-El, I'd put Clark back in there the moment Clark's done with Brainiac, but then there'll be no show so they'll probably make him forget all about that punishment...

And speaking of Brainiac, does Jor-AI know he's around now?
I was always wondering how much he know about what's going on and how he knows it. The fact he didn't know about Bizarro being back shows that his sources are definitely limited.
Does anyone have any suggestions about this?
