yeah, i have a friend who got me into the movie...he was a fan on day one...and the movie itself is a testament to the fans and Joss just busting their butts to get it done....i still have not seen ALL the episodes...keep intending to buy them though...
glad i found this thread...think i will watch Serinity tonight!

awesome! yeah, the series just makes the movie that much better. like you'll watch the movie again after and would have guessed the plot about the reavers in the first 10 minutes (not that it wasn't enjoyable and played out excellently).

so obvious when you watch it that is could have been more... some shows that get cancelled, you can appreciate that they couldn't have done much more with them
firefly had so much potential... i never get bored of re watching it

Great movie... love Captain Tightpants. The outtakes and Easter egg on the DVD are great.
One big reason that Firefly failed on Fox was that they showed the episodes out of sequence. People had no idea what was happening until shortly before Fox pulled it.

I never quite understood why Fox decided to mix up the order in which the episodes aired.
Well, I saw the series on DVD, but the *intended* order worked perfectly for me. No obvious reason for me to screw the whole thing up :(
Must have been really confusing.

what order did they change it to?

The order was 2, 3, 6 – 8, 4, 5, 9, 10, 14, 1; with 11 – 13 unaired in the United States during the series original run (these episodes remained unaired in the United States until they were broadcast on the Sci Fi Channel in late 2005 shortly before Serenity premiered in cinemas).

It was even varied between different regions, the above is only for the US and Canada.
For example in South America / Mexico they also aired episodes 11, 12 and 13, but the pilot was only shown in Brazil.
Very confusing

If you ask me, there was someone who didn't want the show to succeed.
