Haa, not the first time Marsters has sucked on a rat, he did that in Buffy eps as well. Just thought it quite ironic and humerous.

I really don't like how they have downgraded brainiac, because he was so much more a couple of seasons ago. He looks like crap.

....
Did you fail to notice that he wasn't functioning properly and needed to find out how to repair himself? It would have been completely contrary to the plot to have him acting just like his old self when he's literally not. Rest assured the evil genius will return once he's repaired.

That was the whole point of this episode. Brainiac once again manipulated people even while he wasn't functioning properly, he got to Dax Ur in order to fix himself and got a hold of blue K to boot. Plus, he knew Bizarro would be eliminated and he'd rather not have to go against both of them. Evil genius Brainiac.

Ha, yeah, that was a nice homage to Spike. Interestingly, his guest shot on Torchwood was very Spike-like and now we have this on SV. Cool.
Oh and I loved that they had him looking all pale and wan and broken. I would have been furious if he'd looked all right when he was still trying to get himself together.

He and the rats reminded me Voldemort^^.
I just can't wait to see him back in form in "Veritas". If he represents such a great threat, more than in season 5, he could be the definitive factor who will make Clark realise he has to deal with all these supervillains and become Superman.
Voldemort doesn't eat/consume rats. On the contrary, he used the rat. Wormtail's death was only a precaution. So, I really don't see your point about Voldemort...

I didn't talk about Wormtail, but how Voldemort used animals to survive before Quirrell... Anyway, Brainiac rocked^^

Hmmm... interesting, forgot about that one... Though he usually used snakes...
Anyway, that's completly off-topic...
Brainiac is brilliant! no doubt about that

I was reminded of "Interview With The Vampire" where Louis (Brad Pitt) can't quite come to grips with the Dark Gift, and rather than go for human blood often gnaws on rats. Well, if ya haven't tried it....? :p
