Okay so the whole "Chloe isn't the only one who can find her way around computers anymore" line was just stupid, like she was trying to be better than Chloe. And then she's all, "Chloe, you need to get over him."

So maybe Lana keeps comparing herself to Chloe cuz she thinks that Clark will like her better that way. And I don't think she's in love with Clark at all....:p

I agree, the way Lana tried to show Chloe up about how she should realize that Clark is into her, and that she knows him better than Chloe was Lana's true feelings coming out. Lana wants to be the new Chloe, she wants to do all the research for Clark, and she wants to be the person Clark goes to.

Of course Lana wants to be the one he goes? Wouldn't anyone else want to if they were his gf?

Lana wants to be the only important woman in Clark's life so she's trying to take Chloe's place. It may worked with Bizzaro but I think Clark will hardly go to Lana for help any time soon.
I think it's hard for her to deal with their friendship and that Chloe knows Clark better than she.

Well, honestly, no. The guy is living with me, is in love with me, and has finally opened up about his life to me. Why would I begrudge him his longtime friendship and partnership with someone else? Is Lana really so supremely insecure that she needs to be involved in every single thing Clark does? Funny, I don't recall Lana opening up a corner office for Clark at Isis.

I hated the idea of them giving Lana this new insight on computers. Its like when did you become smart? she's always been an idiot her character really is running out of steam.

I agree and I would add another point. The difference between Chloe and Lana is that Chloe accepted Clark for who and what he is when she first learned his secret. She loves Clark without any strings attached. She is willing to maintain a platonic relationship with him and is supportive of his pursuing his 'love' for Lana if it makes him happy. (Remember the wine cellar scene in Promise when Chloe scolds Clark for not going after Lana?)

On the other hand, Lana is in love with an idea of who Clark should be, or how he should behave that would satisfy all Lana's needs and wishes. Lana has never accepted who Clark really is or concerned herself much with what Clark needs to develop into his manhood. Lana's love is 2 dimensional. Chloe's is 3 dimensional.

Lana doesn't want Chloe around anymore. She is trying to get Clark all to herself. That really bothered me too. I don't think Lana should be able to take Chloe's place. She'll never be able to pull it off anyway.

I think she's just trying to find her palce in this world and she seems to enjoy helping the heros much like Chloe does. I don't think that she is trying to replace Chloe or even have her removed from his life. Lana wants to feel useful and it seems to me she feels left out and in the way. She sees how Chloe interacts with the heros and seems to me to be a little jealous.

As much as I liked Lana in season one, it's been all downhill for her character. She seemed to care about others when she was the sweet cheerleader, but really she just cares about herself! She was so mad at Clark when he was keeping secrets from her, even when she was dating other guys, but she never shared any of her secrets (being a witch, being a vampire, spying on Lex, the Isis Foundation...) with Clark! She wanted Clark to be evil like her, & Bizarro was her dream come true. At least she did the right thing for the sake of the world & blew him up...

So much word.

I don't understand the Goughlar. They continually show us why Lana is not right for Clark and everything that's wrong with their relationship, but we're still having to deal with it.

WTF?

I agree with you. Really when I look at it, Lana's just started showing hostility towards Chloe in this episode. It started going downhill in "Wrath", but Lana never really took action towards it. In "Blue", they barely talked. In "Gemini", Chloe left before Lana spoke and in "Persona", Lana just got upset I guess. She just wants to fit in with Clark seeing as how Clark always depends on Chloe for computer advice, she just wants to show Clark that she can do some stuff too.

This bothered me too, Lana wants what Chloe and Clark have, and she doesn't realize that she and Clark share something different.

Well, because Chloe has earned the place that was supposed to be Lana's (according to canon or whatever). Thing is, Lana is a mess of a character, so now, it's just too late to have that place in Clark's life.

WTF?

They haven't really done that before this season. I mean there were viewers that thought that or got that impression but the show itself seemed to keep pushing 'Lana is perfect' 'Lana is perfect for Clark' 'Clana is true love' 'Clana are soul mates' 'Clana will last forever'

This season . . . not so much.

On the other hand, Lana is in love with an idea of who Clark should be, or how he should behave that would satisfy all Lana's needs and wishes. Lana has never accepted who Clark really is or concerned herself much with what Clark needs to develop into his manhood. Lana's love is 2 dimensional.

I hate comparing SV to the comics, because usually the comics are vastly different, but with the recent Clana . . . they are eerily similar. SV Lana seems to me to be turning into her comics counterpart . . . well the later versions (though currently they are trying to make comics!Lana more likeable and more the 'gal pal' that she was originally)

Chloe is very much a good representation of the earliest days of comics!Lana with SV!Lana a good representation of the later days of comics!Lana.

I actually like SV!Lana when she is dark, just so long as they make her that way and don't still try to sell me the Clana. Even though I'm still disgusted by a chest bursting alien romancing and/or having sex with a human it almost seemed that they made a good team with the darkness of Bizarro and the darkness of Lana. I think in her younger years that SV!Lana was made to be sweet and nice, a good match for Clark, but they have brought her to a point where she can no longer be a good match for a Clark that isn't 'dark'

That's my opinion anyway.

The sad thing is that Chloe is still trying to caution Lana and keep her safe even though Lana was accusing her of having ulterior motives.

I think Lana and Chloe are exactly where they were right after the fever letter. Chloe arguably has a better handle on her emotions, but the tension between the 2 girls remains. I think they've restored some consistency in the characters of the 2 women.

Chloe and Lana will continue to have tension in their relationship this season. There is a lot of unresolved issues. Clark can count on having Chloe by his side and make a positive difference in his life, shouldn't that be who Lana is to him?

Well, she can't really hold on to Clark's love, so she is trying to steal his friendship and affection from Chloe. She has no substance of her own, so she needs to imitate other people...

:\Oh yes, Lana is really pathetic, she has to find something she be good at; she doesn´t own The Talon anymore, she must have been spending the last dollars of the $10 million she stole from Lex:lol::lol::lol:, and it seems she thinks she can be as talented as Chloe, she really inspires me shame:lol::)

I don't think Lana was "trying to be Chloe". All she said was "Chloe isn't the only one who knows her way around a computer", right?
That's like Clark taking a picture and saying "Jimmy's not the only one who knows his way around a camera" - it doesn't mean he's trying to be Jimmy, it's just pointing out that he's able to use a camera.

I don't think Lana ever said "Chloe, you need to get over him"...? I think she said "You should try to let him go", like back off and let Lana deal with it? I don't think she said to get over him though.

and she is doing a great job.
