Honestly, what was the point of the Grant Gabriel arc?

Grant ridiculed Chloe, Hired/ was love interest to Lois and was a minion/ cloned brother of Lex Luthor...

And I ask, why was he there to begin with? Why did Lex create him, why did Lex put him at the DP? What the hell was the point?

I mean, we had no reasoning for this character... does anyone else would like to have had an explanation, or what Lex had in mind to have his brother be there?

To trick him into thinking he had control over his life. But remember Lex didn't own the Planet until after Grant was already working there.

That's the only reason that I wanted Lois to be in tonight's episode, lol. To see her reaction when she finds out that she was lip-locking with a Luthor. That would have made the episode slightly better. :lol: But I'm sure that she'll feel something in "Siren"...whenever it airs.

His point for being was Lex's final chance to have someone love him. That's why he was there and him being at the Planet was to diminish anyone that Lex write bad press about Luthorcorp and terrible news like what Lois writes.

Not a plot hole. Just sheer stupidity. A plot hole involves bringing up a plot point and never finishing it. It was stupid to bring up a strong plot with a very poignant and definitive end for shock value.

I agree. It was only brought up to add shock value and had very little to do with Lex becoming the person he is meant to become. I mean sure, he killed his brother, but it wasnt very successful at making Lex cross the line he is meant to.

I understood why they had the Julian-clone die, it was to illustrate Lex's ever expanding attempts at playing God - and his doomed fate of failure at attempting such a venture. It served to show just how far Lex has fallen in his journey.

well i think it would have been darker if lex would have killed him like he did the other clone in gemini. that was his brother too. So actually lex killed his brother twice (and was an accomplice...sort of...the first time it was his real brother!

I think Grant/Julian Clone (clonlian) did serve a purpose.

Lex had no one left to love him and vice versa after Lana left him. So he created clonlian cause Lex likes to control everything. But he loses control and loses the rest of whatever he had left along the way. His path to true Lex-dom completes.

I think the revelation that Grant is a clone of Julian is a way for the audience to see how close Lex is to going over the edge.

Grants plot arc, a way to get lois into the daily planet, a way to hurt lionel, a way to show lex is more evil than ever, a way to show how jealous lex could be.

"Sense" in your context would imply that lois 'sensed' that something was amiss and that she recognized Bizarro, which of course she did not. She did have enough 'sense' to (and I am using your words here) 'spread her arms, and legs wide open' for her boss, a Lex Luthor creation. How witty of her.

Grant Gabriel was created as a character who could recognize lois for what she really is.

I like how Grant's story became more about Lex than the Daily Planet.

Lana put it best when she said 'it wasn't science, Lex. It was your own psychosis.

We know that Lex cloned Lana.

He's probably gotten to the point where if he can't have a family, then he'll make one. Who could blame him, considering all the people he's lost.

He lost his brother, his mother, his best friend at school, his surrogate mother, Clark and Lana.

This all seems to retcon the whole angel thing that started wtih Kara at the beginning of the season.

Plot device to kick start Chloe´s carreer (although it didnt work), plot device to hire Lois, not wanting/having budget to bring Carrie Fisher back. Plot device to have more of that ship angst that AlMIles think we love (Grois), and finally, what I think is the most important thing is that he´s death will be the trigger to unleash the Lex vs. Lionel arc.
