Based on the spoilers, I really wasn't too surprised to see Lana and Clark still together in the end of this one... but did anyone notice the lyrics in the song that was playing? They are from Interpol, Pioneer to the Falls....

"Oh no, you try
You fly straight into my heart
You fly straight into my heart
Girl, I know you try
You fly straight into my heart
You fly straight into my heart
But here comes the fall... "

I found it interesting that they ended the song on "Here comes the fall."
I hope that Clana is really about to be over for good this time...

I have a feeling after that last scene, the end is just around the bend. You're totally right about the song too. Smallville has really been playing songs this year that depicts what is about to happen.

Yeah, they really have been doing that. I guess it's also to leave a very dramatic effect on the viewers to make us think that Clana's breaking up. That's what most of us thought at the end of "Wrath" when Clark didn't answer Lana when she asked him if he loved her. And the lyrics depicted that scene well too. But then again, it did work in "Cure" with Where I Stood by Missy Higgins. I'm so confused about Clana now...

And we all remember the Samantha Mollen song at the end of "Freak"... So if all of this in intentional, I say BRING ON THE CHLARK!

Honestly, based on KK's interview, and what we saw now... only Clana we SHOULD be getting is trying to establish some sort of freindship

I don't think they'll break up immediately. Which is fine. As long as Clark was in love with Lana, it would take more than a few episodes for me to think he was really ready to let her go. It's going to have to be a slow death. But I don't mind that...it will be more realistic to me. And I believe very strongly, that Clark will never stop loving Lana. But that when they end, he will still care for her deeply, but realize they're not meant to be. At least that's what I hope for.

It'll be over until TPTB decide to give Clana a "real shot" in season 8.

Unless they re-cast Lana as another actress, I seriously doubt TPTB will be giving Clana another chance. KK said herself this is her last season.

I'd read the same thing too, but Craig said yesterday that wasn't true. ^^^

Ok remember when Bizarro said that he knew all of Clark's feelings and that Clark didn't love Lana like she thinks he does. His feelings started doubting back at the end of "Wrath" so I think they have just been building all these things for when it finally comes to an end.

I liked how when the kryptonian asked Clark who the woman was he'd be willing to give up powers for, he didn't say "Lana." That was a shocker.

I guess I'm in denial about Clana myself. I've been thinking that the moment in "Blue" meant that Clark loved her, but I guess it was just showing that they can be friends, but Lana shouldn't put herself down like that.

I'd love to believe that the elements in this episode, to include the song choice, were major foreshadowing, but SV tends to drag the Clana around like some wounded animal without putting it out of its misery. I really have no idea what they are trying to do with this relationship anymore, since it doesn't seem to bring out the best in either character. I wish they would consider allowing both characters to evolve and move on to different things in their lives. Its the 7th season. I think its time. Way past time.

Yeah....I know what you mean. I'm kind of an unenthusiastic shipper right now, but if I took this episode and Wrath alone I'd say they are building up some Chloe/Clark/Lana tension for some reason. Not from Chloe so much, but Lana seems really insecure about Chloe being around Clark so much anymore....but yeah, didn't Craig say Clark and Lana are together until the end of this season? So there goes my enthusiasm- all this setup for a permanent Clana breakup and Clark moving on- they do it every season- but it goes nowhere...:\

The Chloe/Clark/Lana tension does seem to be building, but Kristin also said in her interview with Jason C. that she and Chloe would be teaming up soon. I wonder how they'll get past this problem before that episode.

Yeah, I heard that too and am kind of wondering how that's going to work? I mean, the only episode that could be in would be Traveler, right? That doesn't necessarily mean they'll be doing each others hair though....Lex and Clark were "teamed up" in Nemesis too and there was tension made between them...so I don't know.

Yeah, you're right about the "Nemesis" part. But I think that Lana might try to find herself soon and apologize to Chloe soon. The way that she looked at herself in the mirror during the scene at the end of tonight's episode, I have a feeling that she feels really guilty. Lana and Chloe's friendship hasn't driven that far over the edge like Lex and Clark's and since Lana realizes her faults, I'm sure that she's prolly begging for forgiveness from someone. I guess that's also why she touched Clark's arm at the end of the episode tonight also. :\

Lana wanted to connect with Chloe in "Gemini", but I'm not sure why Chloe left.

I sort of think it will end like in the warrior angel comic - with Lana dying in Clark's arms.

I remember when in earlier seasons we got like 10 songs per episode, now we only get 1 if we're lucky enough, but it's always meaningful...so now I'm completely sure this is Clana's ending.
