This scene reminded me of those times where lex had his psychotic break, holding a blanket, thinking it was julian, i think this scene was alluding back to that. what do you think?

It would've been a great scene if he was just looking up and looking tormented. Having him yell at the sky was a pretty risky move and I don't think he quite pulled it off. Still great to see Lex evil and broken, though.

I think that's what they were doing, alluding back to "Memoria" when Lex was screaming "Julian!"

It was pretty cheesy......But I think that after the scenes with Lionel is a big part of what we will see next with Lex. The whole situation just put a cement wall between father and son. And Lionel's not stupid, I'm sure he'll end up knowing it was Lex behind the murder

I know it was supposed to be a throwback to "Memoria", but it really was super-cheesy.
Seemed to me that they were trying to hard to make that cool again. Just didn't have the same emotion that "Memoria" did because in S3, Lex couldn't save Julian and really grieved about his brother, but this time, Lex had him killed and could have stopped it if he wanted.
It was just a little too over the top in "Persona" for me.

Everybody would agree that the scene was cheesy. And everyone laughed there ass off. Lex is really a idiot.

It was like the painfully bad scene of Vader screaming, "Noooooo" in Revenge of the Sith. Terrible.

I thought they pulled off the screaming in the rain thing well, actually. I think the entire music and atmosphere, along with MR's awesome acting, really helped make the scene intense and, IMO, not cheesy. As far as someone saying that in season three he was really grieving and this time he could've stopped it if he wanted to: yes, there is a difference between the two, but that's part of the sad contrast. This time it was up to Lex to do the right thing, but because of his own selfishness, he did what was wrong. This time he had even more to grieve about: not just the loss of Julian, but the loss of his own soul.

I liked it.

Thought MR played it well. He's screaming because he knows what he's becoming and he can't stop it..

Here's a thought. Lionel hired the guy and gave him lex's phone number to call when he was done.

----

It would fit with the scream and the dropping of Lex's phone. Also, it's pretty retarded to have the guy you hired phone you when he just shot someone in cold blood.

If Lionel really wanted Julien mk3 alive, he would have stopped the guy or had him trailed until he was caught, they'd trace the phone call and/or make him confess, and BAM, there goes Lex back in prison.

Seems like there's no way that guy would get away with that without being caught in the real world.

The scene is definitely meant to recall the scene in Memoria, but sadly I don't think it worked. It wasn't so much cheesy as lacking in power. The whole montage was nicely done, but then the slo-mo and Lex's bizarre reaching of his arms just didn't really work. Maybe they were also mirroring the rain of blood vision from Hourglass, but it didn't seem to have the same resonance as that scene. I'm sad to say this is the first time that MR let the character down.

That was the good Lex yelling. And yes, it was covered with cheese product. (not even real cheese) But it was probably what good Lex would have done after he found out that evil Lex just hired a murderer to take care of his clone bro, I mean bro clone. There is a struggle going on and for the better half of season 7 Good Lex (which I will call Alex from now on) was beating bad Lex. (which I will simply call Lex from now on) But it was Alex's last effort and when Clark got in his head to find Kara, he exposed Alex to Lex directly and Lex finally overtook and killed Alex soon after. I personally like how Clark is indirectly responsible for every step Lex took towards the dark side. He could have even saved Lionel at the end if he had listened, but he indirectly set Lionel up for Lex.
