What do you guys believe to be the best 10th episode of the series so far?

Season 1: "Shimmer" - Someone at Lex's mansion uses an invisibility potion to cloak himself during a manor-wide terror spree.
Season 2: "Skinwalker" - The story told in ancient cave drawings may relate to Clark's destiny.
Season 3: "Whisper" - Clark, blinded by an accident involving his heat-vision skills, must rely on and develop his newly discovered powers of hearing to locate and rescue his kidnapped friend Pete.
Season 4: "Scare" - A toxin accidentally released by LUTHERCORP causes Smallville residents - including Clark and his friends - to think his or her worst fear is coming true.
Season 5: "Fanatic" - A student supporting Lex's campaign has a fierce way of backing her candidate.
Season 6: "Hydro" - Gossip columist Linda Lake's meteor-induced ability to morph into water puts her in the know of Chloe's secrets.
Season 7: "Persona" - "While Clark is frozen in the Fortress, as an apparent form of punishment, Bizarro plans on living out Clarks life. In the meantime, Bizarro comes across a past foe of Clark's, Brainiac, after he is reborn/rebooted.

I will go with 'Whisper' or 'Hydro' at the moment. I really like most of these tenth episodes.

Fanatic and Whisper tied for #1

After seeing Persona it isn't far behind.

I voted for Whisper, although tonight was a pretty close second.

I feel more confident then ever in saying this is DEFINITELY the best 10th episode of the series. Whisper is the only one that competes and let's face it it was one of the weaker new power episodes.

"Persona," although "Scare" was good too.

I was debating between "Whisper" and "Persona", but the acting in "Persona" was exceptional and some of the plot twists were great, so I chose "Persona".

Hydro was great, but in no way does an episode with Tori Spelling beat out one with James Marsters.

Oh yeah, definitely the best tenth episode of the series. I mean, BIZARRO! Come on! And BrainIAC! And the old Jimmy Olsen! And Lana actually doing the right thing!

This is kind of off topic, but did anyone else think Marc McClure looked like he could have played AA's grandpa?

My list in order:
Persona
Scare
Whisper
Hydro
Shimmer
Skinwalker
Fanatic

Persona by far. Probably one of my favorite episodes of the entire series. Just great stuff all around, and Michael Rosenbaum was awesome.

Its so strange. People complain about Season Six and Seven taking a serious dive in quality. They complain about recurring Clana and what not. But every time one of these polls is taken "Best Number # Episode of Series" it is always the Season 6 or 7 episoded that is voted the best.

That's because people like to complain, but they simultaneously recognize that their nostalgia for "the good ole days" doesn't equal nostalgia for "quality". Even if this is only so on a subconscious level.

The quality these past two seasons wasn't as bad Season 4. At first, I didn't like Season 4 very much but watching it now, you can understand where the writers were trying to go with their characters, and I actually respect that season a lot more now.

With Season 6...I'm not sure what the hell happened there. Way too many episodes that didn't deal with the plot. I think we didn't get the actual central plot until mid-way through that season. The immigration episode? 'Nuff said.

But so far, Season 7 has been really good, it's just a shame that there's a writer's strike.

This message board is so confusing

In every "Best nth episode of the series" thread the majority choose recent episodes as their favorite yet there is so much crying about how bad Smallville is.

I really loved Persona. I thought about Whisper, which was an excellent episode, but there was just so much in Persona I loved.
So Persona wins for me (and this is the first time in any of these best of polls where I have voted for the current season!).

It was reeeaaallly hard to choose between Hydro and Persona. In the end, I chose Hydro because that was the episode that began to turn season 6 around for me. It was a great start to a 2nd half of what I thought was a horrible season. Horrible first half, anyway. :)

I still love Persona, though.

So true. I guess people just miss the "old farm days." But in actuality the show is better in quality than the first few seasons.

I actually really liked Skinwalkers, and I had no idea it was the tenth episode. I just liked it, even if it is OLD. I don't remember Whisper at all. I BARELY remember Shimmer, Scare could have been better (Lana and Chloe are the ones that had the 'scariest' daymares), Fanatic was decent but not in the top three.

Hydro was pretty darn decent, and Persona wasn't that awful, to be honest. I certainly wouldn't say Persona was the best out of the episodes listed in the poll, but surely one of the better episodes THIS season.

So

1) Skinwalkers
2) Hydro
3) Persona

In order of my enjoyment of them.

it's totally logical

these kind of polls are participated in by everyone from casual viewers to die hard fans... most of the casual veiwers may not own the DVD's or even have seen earlier seasons

people like this are more likely to vote for more recent episodes because they can remember them, especially season 7 because they can remember being excited by them

remember, these polls are usually posted straight after an episode has aired, which means people are still reeling from it, and havent had time to grow bored of it yet, whereas episodes that were raved about at first from earlier seasons are forgotten

i guarantee that next season, all the season 8 episodes will win as well, regardless of how good they actually are in comparison

it really doesn't give an accurate idea... perhaps if a thread like this where created with season 7 episodes not on it, we might get a slightly more accurate reading
