Johnny Depp to take over final Heath Ledger role

Director Terry Gilliam is determined to finish shooting Heath Ledger's last film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus--with Johnny Depp in his place.

Filming on the set of the fantasy movie was allegedly abandoned following the death of the actor on Tuesday afternoon.

But reports now claim Gilliam is keen to have the Pirates of the Caribbean star stand in for Ledger to complete the remaining scenes.

A studio source tells British newspaper The Sun, "There is a point in the film when Heath falls through a magic mirror. He could change into another character after that, and that is where Johnny would come in.

"It's a weird, fantasy, time-travel movie, so Heath's character could easily change appearance. It would be a poignant moment.

"Johnny's not working at the moment, so everyone is praying he will do it."

Ledger was said to be less than two months away from wrapping filming on the movie.

WRONG! Most of ledger's scenes were shot, but if you check up AICN, you'll get the more likely skinny. BUT, Depp is going to be too busy being an oscar winning actor for the next couple of months I'm afraid.

Who the hell are you to know the inside track? That isn't the only source reporting this either. Just one of the few reputable source aside from all the fan sites. Even Johnny Depp's official site is reporting the same thing.

I'm not saying I'll see it, but I'm confident on this.

From what I've read/seen concerning this film, it looks like a role Johnny Depp would've taken anyway.
