Its been along time since I visited this site. Anyway, thought I'd drop by and say hello.
And since I love Heroes and Nathan Petrelli and I did not see a thread dealing with this, what the heck ... Here it is.
Nathan is my favorite and I know .. that one character shouldn't define the show .. but for me ... this show would not be the same without Nathan Petrelli. There is so much more they can do with the character.
He's connected to so many of the characters, that I can't help but feel he's got more to do in the Heroes Realm.
Anyway - if you love Nathan as much as I do, this would be our thread. And if you want to help the cause I've got links.
http://www.savenathanpetrelli.com
http://www.petitiononline.com/Petrelli/petition.html
and you can also make comments on the producers blog.
http://gregbeeman.blogspot.com
Anyway, I'm glad to be posting again here and will try to be a bit more active than I have in the past. Whether that is in the Heroes stuff or Smallville or any of the other fun stuff that exists here.
I've always like this site. :D

Welcome back.
We don't really even know if he will stay dead. The actor that plays him may want to move on to other things. They may even plan on bringing him back in some way. I always liked Nathan myself but I wouldn't sign a petition.

Online petitions do nothing. So I will not sign. But I will agree that Nathan most definately needs to come back- after spending an entire volume of unuse, killing him off at the end is just dumb.

Thanks for the warm welcome back. I appreciate that. You don't have to sign a petition, just making it available.
I also think killing him off at end isn't smart. Feels like South Park, "Oh no!, they killed Nathan". Season 1 finale .. we weren't sure of his fate. And now the same thing in season 2.
I like his power of flight too. I wished they had shown that more in the show. I'm just glad to see Nathan love here on this forum.

I am with Nathan coming back, he is to much of a fan favorite. He is also my second favorite character (besides Peter). Not only do I like the fact that he can fly but how fast he is able to fly.

I love how fast he can fly. That is just plain awesome. I sooo hope when the next season begins (beside that he's back), that we see more of that.
I also like Peter. I like the Petrelli dynamic. Just how they deal with each other and stuff makes me laugh.
When Peter and Nathan were in Texas and Pete is trying to explain whats going on that that there were others like them, and Nathan says dysfunctional. I was laughing. Because, yeah, they are some what and thats fun to watch.

I just reread my first reply, and it comes off a little insulting. Sorry about that. I've just seen so many online petitions come and go over many similar events, and I'm saddened to say that usually the production companies pay no mind to them. The one and only thing they seem to care about these days is the flawed Nielson ratings system. The writers pay much more attention to forums then things like online petitions as well. The idea to post comments on Mr. Beeman's blog was a great idea, and I think of our options would work best.

I really hope they reconsider this whole killing off nathan thing, theyve done it 3 times in total.
1: Sylar kills him in the future
2:Peter kills him by exploding
3:He gets shot in Powerless..
I think that the petrelli dynamic as prior mentioned is one of the foundations of heroes and should stay just that.Peter, nathan,Claire,Angela, damn the whole petrelli family has allot more to do with teh show that ppl realise, and I want THE FLYING MAN *wooosh*(does the hand thing to immitate flight like hiro did) should stay alive and in turn keep the show alive. However there is in total 3 flyers in Heroes atm so maybe thats y they wanna kill him off.

Just to nitpick, Nathan didn't die from Peter exploding.

Thats alright. I totally understand what you mean and I'm glad you took the time to elaborate further. At first I thought, I've just come back and pissed someone off on the first post. great  I'm very glad that was not the case. :D
Yeah, I think Beeman's blog is the better of the ideas and I have posted there.
I hope the writer's strike will end sometime soon, or we'll never know what will happen. All speculation until that is over and they start working on the show again. *sigh*

i think no one ever dies for sure now on the show , with that blood trick bringing back the dead.

^^Thats really true, but at the same time that is Claires dad so ..
Nekobaghira

True he is Claire's BioDad. I read somewhere that the creators and writers had other ideas they can explore for healing. Perhaps one of those ideas pops up instead of magic blood. I would be fine with surgery. :D

^^,hummm...thats a posibility but I prefer spontaneous regeneration..its so much cooler, and makes allot more sense, thats his bio daughter and she would come to his aid in a heartbeat, and she knows what her bolood is capable of so yeh,its the most logical avenue.

*chuckles* that could be interesting. That would awesome if Claire came to her bioDad's aid. That would be a fun moment to see.
I miss this show. There isn't too much I watch now. I've resorted to playing WoW. And watching movies. LOL.
Getting back to Nathan. I could see Nathan as one of the guys to lead our group or Heroes. Though I don't want it like Xmen. Just when they happen to get together, he would be the one to get them in the right direction. :D

Yeah, I was just really upset at NBC and other production companies in general. NBC for their recent journeyman madness, and then fox for firefly, and CW for mishandling of SM, and running Veronica Mars into the ground, and upn for doing its best to destroy Star Trek, etc, etc.
I hope its over soon as well. Rumour is the AMPTP is going to hold out for another whole year, but smaller, seperate organizations have already begun reaching agreements with the WGA. And the Actor's and Director's guilds are about to go on strike as well, for similar reasons, so who knows how it'll all end up.
I really hope they kill two birds with one stone with Nathan's sitch. Use the RegenBlood to save him, but show him healing much more slowly this time than before, solving the RegenBlood problem by having non-regens slowly develop a resistance to its effects.

Yeah, I was irritated with networks and some shows. I liked Journeyman. The hubby loved Firefly. I only watched a couple of episodes but it seemed good. I loved Star Trek and nothing irked me more in my market - than the UPN/FOX fiasco. They couldn't decide which network locally would air the episodes and went weeks without seeing the show during its new season. (years ago). I'm thought WTF, how can you do that to people. They got a ton of complaints.
I like you idea on the regenblood slow healing. That would at least make the blood not so all powerful.
I hope they don't go a whole year without resolving this strike. Movies in 2009 won't be very good. Movies that would go straight to DVD would get theatrical release.
The good news is the DGA has reached an agreement. Which gives the WGA a template to work off of and hopefully get both sides to the table.
Marvel Entertainment and the WGA reached an agreement. So, all of their projects are going to continue.
So, there is some progress.
I miss Heroes. *sigh*

DGA already reached an agreement? That's either really good, or really bad, depending on the terms.

Well from what I could get, it was good news. And according to AP
http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5iE0uIqtrdPXiNMr1qniAIsCAa0fwD8UKC00G0
The could reach a deal at the end of the week. That is could, not will or anything. I'm hoping that an agreement is reached.
At least both sides are talking, however not much is being said due to the media black out.
