Where Are You Christmas
Chapter 1
Coming Home
Disclaimer: I don’t own Smallville, Superman, Superboy or anything else to do with the show, comics, Superman mythos or movies. This is a fanfiction nothing more.
It had been ten years since she last visited this place. Ten years! Quite a bit can happen in that amount of time. The flight from the West Coast was long and tiring and it provided Lana with ample time to reflect on the past. Ten years ago she had left Smallville for good. Clark was becoming more and more concerned about the changes he was seeing in her. This bothered him so much that he eventually left her and Smallville. Lana moved from the farm into the town of Smallville, where she opened a fashion shop. It was there that she began designing clothing and eventually was hired by a famous designer, who put her through school and helped her get a start in the hectic world of fashion designing, on a world wide scale. The LL label was now very well known. Women young and old loved her designs.

Lana was coming home, to celebrate Christmas with her Aunt Nell. This was something she had mixed feelings about. On one hand she was going to enjoy seeing the places she once frequented and also get to see old friends; but on the other hand she dreaded going back, realizing that she probably would not see the love of her life. He had moved on and lived in Metropolis. He was now a famous reporter and secretly the world’s most powerful Superhero.

Lana had changed over the years. She realized that she had to let go of her hatred of Lex and move on. She remembered one of her last conversations with Clark.
“Clark, why are you looking at me like that?”
“I am only trying to find something I recognize. Lana, you have changed. The Lana I knew and loved, would not think or act the way you have been. All these lies and secrecy, I just don’t understand it. Ever since you came back from China, after faking your own death; you have become a different person. It’s my own fault, had I not pushed you away, you would not have married Lex. We would have eventually married and you wouldn’t be this person that I don’t even recognize.”
“Clark”, Lana replied, “I really am not any different. I wish you wouldn’t look at me that way. I am who I am. I am a product of my own decisions. What I am doing is justified. Look at what he and his father have done to me and to so many others. I have a right, no a duty, to see that they pay for what they have done. I am making sure that they don’t hurt anyone else. Now, let’s see if we can make more seismic activity happen in Smallville.”
“Lana, I can’t! You‘re not the woman I fell in love with. You have changed and it’s my fault entirely. I will never be able to live with myself, because of what I’ve done.
Lana, I will love you forever, but I just can’t live with what you have become. I can’t accept what
I have caused you to become.”

Lana remembered answering, “Get over it Clark, this who I am. Love me or leave me.”
She will never forget the look of pain she saw on his face. The look that she saw in his eyes that night was forever burned into her memory! It was a look of hurt, defeat and betrayal all at once. A look she had seen only once before in Clark. It was the day she married Lex. After the wedding she told Clark that she didn’t love him, but she loved Lex instead and wanted to be with him. How was he to know that she was trying to save his life?
The second time she had seen it was the last time she saw him. He looked at her, kissed and hugged her one last time and whispered, “I will love you for the rest of my life. I only hope that I can forgive myself for what I have caused you to become. You can live here on the farm for as long as you want. Goodbye, my love.”
Then she heard a whoosh and he was gone. She waited on the farm for the next two weeks hoping he would come back, but he never did. No one ever heard from him again, except for Ben Hubbard. Clark did stop there to arrange for him to watch over and care for the farm.”

Now ten years later, she was on her way back home. She came only at the insistence of her Aunt who wanted the chance to see her and to meet her nephew. A child she had never seen. He was born a few months after she left Smallville. He was a handsome boy, who was born a few months after Lana left town. She never did tell anyone who the father was, but from the pictures she sent to her aunt, earlier this year when she re-established contact, there was only one man who could possibly have fathered this lad.
Then she heard a voice. “Mommy, can I have another glass of milk.”

Lana smiled as she pushed the call light button. Immediately, a stewardess came down the aisle.
“May I help you?” the young lady asked Lana.
“Tell her what you want, Clark.” Only one person drank more milk than her son and that individual was his father.

That’s all for now. Let me know what you think. I know it’s short, but before I do more I want to see what kind of reception it gets.

I love it when Clana happens in the future and not the past. I love your introduction, please add on and continue. I love that it takes place 10 years later. Great story! Love it so far!
Lana's son's name is too obvious.

Where Are You Christmas
Chapter 2
Home Again

As the plane was coming to a stop at Metropolis Airport, Lana was getting young Clark ready to de-plane. “Where are we going again mommy,” he asked? With a smile on her face she gave a hug to her young son, who had asked that question for the thirtieth time.”

“We are going to see Aunt Nell and you can see where, I grew up. Now get your stuff and come with me, son. Let’s not keep Aunt Nell waiting too long.”
Hurrying to gather all his belongings together, Clark, responded, “I’m ready mommy. I can’t wait to see Aunt Nell; do we have any other relatives here?”
Yes, my son, you do have other relatives living in this area and maybe, just maybe, we will get a chance to see them. But we will only be in Smallville a short time and Christmas is such a busy time. So I can’t make any promises. Now let’s go meet, Aunt Nell.” Then she smiled at her bright young son, but deep down inside she was worried. I do hope that I get the chance to see Clark. I really want to have the opportunity, to tell him, that I still am madly in love with him. I would also like the chance to tell him about and introduce him to his son. That is, if he will listen to me. We didn’t part on the best terms. I also want him to know that I have matured and have long ago, let go of those feelings for the Luthor’s. Yes, I have beaten the demons of my past and I want him to know that, even if there isn’t a chance of us reconciling.

Lana led her nine year old son off the plane and through the airport out past the security gates it was then that she spotted Nell and Dean waiting for them. The older woman gave her a kiss on the cheek and then held her in a long hug.” Oh, I have missed you she told Lana! You haven’t changed at all you are still the most beautiful woman in or out of Smallville. Then she drew back and looked directly into Lana’s eyes and said, no matter what happens between you and Mr. Kent, you have to visit us more often, do you hear me?”
“I will,” she said giving her aunt a smile.
Turning to Dean she gave him a huge hug and asked, “How have you been Dean? It’s been a long time, hasn’t it?”
“I am fine Lana and Nell is right, no matter what happens or doesn’t happen with Mr. Kent, you need to visit us from time to time. Remember, we love you and you are our only family. Now who is this handsome young man with you?”
Nell had already drawn the boy to her and was hugging him saying, “Clark, you are such a handsome young man. It is nice finally getting to meet you. I must say that your pictures don’t do you justice. You are so good-looking. Don’t you agree Dean?”
“Yes,” he answered Nell waiting for a turn to hug the young lad. Clark, he said finally getting a chance to hug the boy. “You are going to love it here in Smallville its small and it quiet. Lots of area to explore and see, there is even a windmill nearby. If all goes well we might get a chance to take you there.”

“A windmill,” the boy replied, “I would love to see that. Will you take me there?”
The next stop was the luggage area and as they were gathering the luggage. Lana saw a crowd of reporters and cameramen surrounding someone two carousel’s away. As she watched, out of the corner of her eye, she could see that it was an older woman with red hair. Lana smiled as she realized that it was Martha. As she listened, Lana heard one of the reporters ask, “Senator Kent what do you think of the latest bit of legislation being brought up on capitol hill regarding …” He never got the chance to finish. Senator Kent stopped him saying, “Gentlemen, I am taking this Christmas time to get away from politics. Please forgive me for not answering your questions and Merry Christmas.”
With that having been said, the senator turned to gather her luggage.
Lana wanted to rush over and give Martha a hug. How could she ever forget the love, care and concern that Mrs. Kent had always shown her. She remembers that Martha used to refer to her as the daughter she never had. Lana felt free to share everything that troubled her with Martha. She was the mother she never had. She loved Martha, almost as much as she loved Clark. But, that was a long time ago, Lana realized that she couldn’t share anything with her now. It hurt too much, knowing Martha’s son, Clark, left her, to go who knows where.
Turning around so the Senator wouldn’t see her, Lana took Clark’s hand and walked with Nell and Dean to where their car was parked. Clark was all questions. He asked one after another. Lana smiled and patiently answered each one.
Martha gathered her luggage quickly and left the airport. She was in a hurry to get to the farm. It was her fortress of solitude. No reporters, no cameramen. Just the place where a tired Senator could kick off her shoes and sit back and relax. As she went her way too her car, something bothered her. There was a woman in the airport, she had only caught a glimpse of her, but that individual reminded her of someone she loved dearly. Someone she missed with all of her heart, Lana. Martha didn’t get a good look at the young woman, everything that was in her told her that it was Lana. If it was, she wanted to have, to sit down with her, so that they could talk. Martha never forgave Clark for leaving her the way he did. Clark never discussed that reason with his mother, even after returning from his training. Well, Martha thought, if Lana is back, I hope she comes over to visit. I really miss her. She was the daughter I never had. I want to hear everything about her life since leaving the area. Her fashion designing career is doing well.

The drive back to her aunt’s place caused Lana to have mixed feelings. On one hand, seeing the old places brought her both happy and sad feeling’s to her. She loved seeing the Talon and the high school, but didn’t care for passing a Luthorcorp building or anything else that reminded her of Lex. As they drove up to the house and they got out to take in the luggage. Clark said, mommy, look horses, pointing over to the Kent farm. “Do you think the people that live there will let us pet them and maybe ride them?”
“You never know son, anything is possible.”
They went into the house and Nell told Lana that her room was where they were going to be sleeping. She took Clark by the hand and went upstairs. Dean took up their luggage. Lana stood at the door of her room looking inside. Memory after memory came back to her. It had been more than ten years since she looked into this room, but it seemed like it was only yesterday. Feeling a little lightheaded she went inside the room and sat down. Clark was busy looking at everything that was in the room. He asked his mother more questions than usual as he saw everything. Lana did the best she could to answer all the questions. After looking around a while, he picked up a picture of her graduation class and asked her a question. That made her heart skip a few beats. Pointing to a tall handsome gentlemen, who was standing , with the crowd, he asked, mommy, is he my daddy? He kind of looks like me.”

Looking at the picture, she could see, the man of her dreams. He had that wonderful smile on his face and he looked so good. Tears came to her eyes. She couldn’t answer. She was full with so many emotions. That all she could do, was to put her head into her pillow, to hide her tears. She said, “I am sorry son, mommy can’t talk right now. We can talk about that later.”

Seeing this Dean asked Clark if he wanted to get some candy from a store in town. He wanted to give Lana a bit of time to adjust to being back in Smallville. Clark asked his mother if it was ok for him to go. She replied, “Yes.”

Taking him by the hand Dean took him out to the car and off they were going into town. The ride was really interesting for a very curious boy, who has never been on a farm or lived in farm country. He asked Dean nearly one hundred questions. Dean took the time to answer every one. Clark it seems for now had forgotten about trying to discover who his father was, at least for now.

More to come soon.

Where Are You Christmas
Chapter 3
Clark’s Request

As they were going into the store, Clark asked Dean, “Does it snow here Uncle?”
“Yes it does Clark and if the latest broadcast is correct, we will have snow Christmas Eve. Have you ever seen it snow before Clark?”
“Only on television, but I have never been in snow. It doesn’t ever snow where we live in California. I brought a camera with me, so I hope it happens, so I can get some pictures to show my friends. I really like it here Uncle Dean.”

“I am glad to hear that, the older man replied. Now what kind of candy do you like?”
“I like all types Clark replied, but I don’t get to have it often. Mommy doesn’t want me to get any cavities.”

“Your mom is right Clark, but this is a special occasion, so I don’t think she will mind. Do you like any of these?”
Clark grabbed a Hershey Bar and some Reese Cups. “Can I have both of these Uncle Dean?”
“Yes, you can Clark, but you can only eat one now the other one will have to wait until tomorrow. We don’t want you to eat too much chocolate. It might make you hyper.”

‘Don’t worry uncle, I won’t get hyper, I promise. What should we do next?”
“Well, why don’t we take a walk around town and see some of the Christmas decorations. Maybe we could stop and see Santa too.”

“Uncle Dean, some of my friends say that Santa isn’t real. That he is just a fairy tale, is that true?”
“Santa is no myth Clark. Your friends probably don’t believe in Santa because they didn’t get what they wanted for Christmas. There are many reasons why children don’t get the things that they want, but the biggest one is that they really do not believe in Santa anymore. When a person doesn’t believe, they prevent Santa from being able to grant their deepest wishes. Do you understand what I am getting at Clark? The key to getting what you want from Santa is to believe.”

“I’ve got it uncle. It’s important to believe. Now, shall we go for that walk around town?”

“You bet,” replied Dean. “Let’s go Clark.”

Two aisles over, a stately, red headed woman was standing in a checkout line. Looking over at the mention of the name Dean, she saw the boy and heard Dean call him by the name Clark. Unfortunately she wasn’t able to get a good look at the boy, but he reminded Martha of her Clark, when he was young. Martha considered a few possibilities: Nell was Lana’s Aunt, Dean was Nell’s husband, Lana and Clark had sexual relations after they reunited as a couple; could it possibly be that that young boy was…no, it wasn’t possible. It couldn’t be. Thinking back to when she was being badgered by reporters in the airport…wasn’t there a woman their, who reminded her of Lana? If that was the case, then Martha realized that she had just gotten a glimpse, of her grandson. Could it be true? Did she even dare to hope? Gathering her things together she rushed out of the store, eager to get a better look at the child, but they were gone. With a feeling of intense hope and joy filling her heart, she thought, I will have to pay Nell a visit and soon.

Meanwhile dean and Clark were going through town, looking at all the decorations. Smallville always went all out when it came to putting up Christmas decorations and as usual, everything was beautiful. They looked at the shops windows and Clark wanted everything. He saw puppies, train sets, telescopes, racing cars, spaceships and all kinds of things. Finally Dean took him into a department store to see Santa.

“Remember what I said about believing,” he reminded young Clark.
“I won’t forget,” replied the boy.”

Clark stood in line with the rest of the children, until his turn came. He was then ushered over to see Santa, by two Elves. They were smiling as they took him up to see Mr. Claus. Clark thought that one of the Elves call him by name, but that was impossible, no one here in this city knew his name except for Nell and Dean.
Santa looked at Clark and raised his hand to indicate that he wanted him to come and sit on his lap. When he did, Santa smiled and asked, “Clark, I know you want many things for Christmas. You would like a train set, a bicycle and a telescope, but what do you want most for Christmas, Clark? Down deep in your heart, what do you want the most, for Christmas this year?”
A tear formed and then fell from Clark’s eye as he turned to Santa and said, “I want to see my daddy, know who he is and see, him and my mom get married, so that we can be a family. Most of all, I want mommy to be happy and have a real smile again. She pretends to be happy and does smile from time to time, but I know she is never really happy. She cries at night in her room. I know its because she misses my daddy. Please Santa, please!”

With a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes, Santa said, “Granted, son, you belief in me will cause you Christmas wish to come true. Tell no one, what we have said to each other. Now you have a Merry Christmas and Clark, don’t ever stop hoping and believing.”
Then the Elves helped him off of Santa’s lap and walked him down to the exit gate. Before leaving Clark turned back to look at Santa. Santa waved goodbye to Clark, gave him a big smile and with a twinkle in his eye said, “Merry Christmas Clark, Merry Christmas.”

Dean smiled at Clark, took his hand and asked, “Clark, did you tell them your name?”
“No, I didn’t the boy replied, but Santa knows every child’s name. Doesn’t he?”

“Right you are nephew,” Dean said, “right you are.” Then Dean looked at his watch and said, “We should be getting home the women will be worried.”
It was right at that moment that his cell phone went off. Dean answered. It was Lana, she was wondering about how Clark was doing? He is fine Lana, we just got some candy, and window shopped a little, then, we saw Santa. We are on our way there now, see you soon.”

As Lana, put away her cell phone, Nell asked, “Are they okay?”

They are fine Aunt Nell, Dean and Clark seem to be getting along just fine.”

“Lana please call me Nell. Clark is such a wonderful child. It is amazing how much he resembles his father.”

“The resemblance isn’t limited to looks only, although he has never met his father, their personalities are exactly alike. They are both so caring and compassionate, but at the same time, incredibly stubborn. But I love them both!”
“Have you heard from Clark sr. at all Lana?”
Not since that day he left me on the farm. He surprised me Nell; I never thought he would just walk away from our love. But, I had changed completely from the Lana he had known. I lied, cheated, stole money and almost killed Lex and Lionel. I know Clark didn’t know what was happening to me. Lara, his biological mother saw it, that day we met. The day Clark asked me to stay with his mother. She saw how nervous I was and said to me to relax. She mentioned that I was nervous, because I was afraid that she would learn about the darkness that I was hiding inside of me. She encouraged me to fight it, to resist it. She warned me not to give in. you know Nell; the darkness may have won, had Clark not left me that day. His leaving shocked me and shook me back to reality. I walked away from the darkness, never to return, after he left, but it was too late. I waited around the farm for two weeks hoping he would return, but after that I knew that I had to get on with my life, especially when I realized that Clark jr. would be coming along soon.

Where Are You Christmas
I Want to Be Like Him
Chapter 4

Martha tried, but she couldn’t calm down. She was a grandmother and she had just seen her grandson. It was only a brief glimpse and she didn’t get to see his face, but every fiber of her being, told her that it was Clark jr. She had to see him. She had to get a better look at him and most of all like every grandmother, Martha needed to hold him in her arms, kiss him, and tell him that she loved him. The Senator was sure that that woman in the airport was Lana and if it was, then that boy was her grandson. Martha had to know for sure. She decided that she would visit Nell. Realizing that she just couldn’t just drop in, Martha tried to come up with an excuse for her upcoming visit. I’ve got it, she thought, I will bake a pie and present it as a Christmas gift. That should be a good enough reason to give for dropping in. I will do it tomorrow.
Meanwhile Dean and Clark after arriving at the house got out of the car and went inside. They had no way of knowing, that someone was observing them through a telescope. “I knew that this thing would come in handy someday,” Martha said. She had gotten a slightly better look at the child and was jumping for joy. He looked so much like her son, he just had to be her grandson. Martha, left the loft and went back inside to plan for and to get started baking the pie.
When Dean and Clark had gotten inside they found Lana and Nell watching the evening news. Dean and Clark were greeted by both women. Lana asked Clark if he had had a good time in downtown Smallville. Clark had the biggest grin on his face and he told his mom all the fun he had with his uncle. Lana was somewhat surprised to hear, from her son, that Santa knew his name, but quickly forgot about that when Clark reminded her that Santa knew everyone’s name.
All of a sudden, the news switched to a special report. Wolf Blitzer was reporting, he began, “A problem developed with The President’s plane earlier today. A lightning strike had destroyed one engine and took out part of one wing. The plane was going down and would have crashed, but suddenly, a man in a blue suit with a red cape and a big red ‘S”on his chest, appeared out of nowhere and took over for that missing engine. He flew the plane to safety and then took off again. Who is this mystery man and how did he get those amazing abilities?” He finished his special report and closed.
As she watched the report, Lana knew immediately who the mystery man was, Clark had resurfaced. Her heart initially, began to skip a few beats and then began to beat very fast. She began to shake and grew a little faint. There he was the man of her dreams, the love of her life. Nell saw what was happening to Lana and had Dean help her over to the couch. “Lie down Lana, I will get you something cool to drink, you are perspiring up a storm. Do you have hypoglycemia?”
Clark missed what was happening to his mother. He was too busy watching the man on the screen. He watched as he, flew to the plane and picked up the wing like it was as light as a feather. After he landed the plane, he turned and smiled at the camera and then took off into the air at a speed too fast for the cameras to follow. “Wow!” Clark shouted, “Did you see that!” He exclaimed! “That was amazing. Who do you think that was, he asked?”
Dean and Nell responded, that they didn’t know, but then, Dean said, “I guess, he is he is our latest Superhero. They seem to be popping up everywhere lately; Spiderman, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Iron Man, Thor, Dr.Strange, just to name a few. It seems like there is a superhero on every corner.”
Lana just laid there speechless. She couldn’t say anything, even if she wanted too.
With a huge smile on his face, Clark exclaimed, “Well whoever he is, I want to be just like him. He is so cool; he doesn’t even need a rocket pack to fly.”
Lana was starting to feel a little better. She looked over at her son and thought, You have no idea my son, just how much like him you are. Someday, I will tell you about your father, but not yet, it’s still too painful to think about now. But soon my son, very soon, I will tell you everything about your father.
Dean and Nell were a little bit worried about Lana. Nell asked, “Are you all right, my dear?”
“I am starting to feel a little better. I really don’t know what came over me.”
Nell asked if she felt like eating something, but she didn’t. “Clark“, Nell called, “Time to eat, come and get it.”
Clark like his dad was always hungry. Lana would always marvel at how much he resembled Clark sr. especially when eating. It would bring both joy to her heart and tears as she watched Clark’s, mini-me, do so many things just the way his father did. Yes, she would tell him about his father very soon. He deserved to know. One day, I will have to let his father know about his son. It isn’t fair, not to tell him about his child, whether we are together or not.

More coming soon!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!!:)

Where Are You Christmas
Chapter 5
The Loft

“Okay Clark, it’s bedtime,” Lana announced. In Clark’s heart, this was a time that always came too soon. Lana took him upstairs, had him take a bath and brush his teeth. He then said his prayers and she read him a bedtime story. When the bedtime story was completed, she kissed him on the cheek and said, “Goodnight sweetheart. Tomorrow, we will try to do something special I promise. Do you like Smallville so far?”
“This place is really neat, I really like it. Mom, do you think the people on the farm next store will let me see their horses? I have never seen one up close.”
“I don’t really know son, but we can check into it?” She replied. “Good night, sweet dreams.”
Then Lana closed the door and went downstairs. Dean and Nell were watching, ‘Dancing with the Stars.’
Lana asked them if they would mind listening for Clark, in case he called out. She wanted to go for a walk along the road.
“Go ahead dear,” Nell called out. “We will keep an eye on Clark. Have a nice walk.”
Lana enjoyed walking down the road. She had done it often when she was a young girl in high school. Walking helped her to unwind and relax. It helped to relieve stress. Tonight she wasn’t stressed, but she wanted to walk anyway. As she did she recalled times when she and Clark Sr. were together. She longed to have him put his arms around her and gently kiss her lips. Then, they could go to the Loft and enjoy each other as they had so many times in the past. After that they could bask in the afterglow, look into each other’s eyes and tell each other that they couldn’t live without each other.
As she continued to walk, she lost track of time and direction and before she realized it, she was standing in, ‘The Loft’ as she had done so many times before. The moon was nearly full and the view from the loft was spectacular. It felt good to be here. The only one missing was Clark. But even though he wasn’t here, she felt so close to him. It seemed like it was only yesterday, they were here, making love and causing Seismic disturbances all over Smallville. The expression on Chloe’s face after she learned the cause of the disturbances was priceless. Just the memory of that look made Lana chuckle. The couch was still there and she sat down. After a bit, Lana became aware of tears running down her face as she thought Clark, where are you? Was I so evil that you couldn’t forgive me? I love you, I will always love you. You are the love of my life and I thought that I was the love of yours, but it looks like I was wrong, so very wrong. I have someone I would like you to meet. His name is Clark Jr. I could have gone all out and been creative in naming him, but I didn’t want creativity Clark, I wanted you. He is all that I have to remind me of you. You left me nothing else. Clark, he is so much like you, it’s like you are still with me, but in miniature form. Anyway, I am back in Smallville for a few days and I would love to see you, if you aren’t too busy.

Then she up and while she looked at the moon Lana asked, “Where are you Christmas? When I was younger, I believed that if you wanted something bad enough and were sincere enough, that Father Christmas would see that that wish was granted. Father Christmas, please hear me. Please grant my wish. Grant Clark Jr’s wish. He doesn’t say it, but I know he wants to meet his father. I can see it in his eyes and hear it in his voice and in the things that he doesn’t say. I can’t wait till he knows. I can’t wait to see the expression on his face when he finds out that his father is Superman. So please help me. Please bring Clark home, please." Then taking a deep breath, she asked again in the form of a song:

“Where are you Christmas
Why can't I find you
Why have you gone away
Where is the laughter
You used to bring me
Why can't I hear music play

My world is changing
I'm rearranging
Does that mean Christmas changes too

Where are you Christmas
Do you remember
The one you used to know
I'm not the same one
See what the time's done
Is that why you have let me go

Christmas is here
Everywhere, oh
Christmas is here
If you care, oh

If there is love in your heart and your mind
You will feel like Christmas all the time

I feel you Christmas
I know I've found you
You never fade away
The joy of Christmas
Stays here in silence
Fills each and every heart with love."

Where are you Christmas
Fills your heart with love.”

Then she took one more look around the loft and left. She walked slowly down the stairs, remembering times spent there with Clark. Then she walked across the field to her aunt’s. But before she went inside, she turned to look at The Kent’s barn and asked once more, “Where are you Christmas, why can’t I find you. Why have you gone away?” Then she turned and went inside. She managed to say goodnight to Dean and Nell and then went to bed, but not before kissing Clark Jr. goodnight.

Outside a light snow began to fall and a jolly old fellow climbed back into his sled. As he did, he replied, “Christmas will be here Lana don’t you worry and Father Christmas has heard your wish. Now get some sleep. With that he and his team of reindeer were off and they cast a shadow on the moon as they went by. Lana’s tears stopped and she drifted off to sleep, a peaceful sleep, the way she slept when she was a young girl and she didn’t have the weight of the world on her shoulders.

More coming later today.

Where Are You Christmas
Chapter 6
A Date With A Pie or A Woman on A Mission

It is true, what they say about farmer’s wives, even those that become Senators. Martha Kent was up at the crack of dawn. It was a beautiful day in Smallville and Martha had plans. She was going to make the most of this day! She was a woman on a mission. This mission had to be carried out today. She could not let another day go by without knowing whether her suspicions were right or wrong. She fully intended to pay a visit to Nell this morning. There were too many coincidences, that she couldn’t ignore.

After a quick shower and make-up application, she was off in a flash to the kitchen. Not nearly as fast as her son Clark moved, but for the Senator, it was pretty fast. The situation called for a seasonal, holiday pie and Martha had already decided on the type. Although she hadn’t seen Nell for quite some time, she knew that Nell had a special love for mincemeat pie. A fast trip to Smallville’s only all night grocery store and Martha was ready to set her plan in motion.

Senator Kent had become an accomplished politician, her skills were second to none when it came to dealing with lobby groups, colleagues, constituents’ and everyone else on capitol hill. But, even though she possessed all of the skills needed to be a great Senator, Martha hadn’t forgotten how to bake a pie.
She prepared the filling which consisted of; Raisins, sultanas, apricots, glace cherries, candied citrus peel, apples, various types of nuts and mixed spices, especially nutmeg and cinnamon. She prepared the mixture smiling as she recalled that superstition mandated that the mixture had to be stirred in a clockwise direction. Stirring it counterclockwise would bring on bad luck and even though she was not a superstitious person, Martha wanted to take a chance of anything possibly going wrong.

She let the mixture set as she prepared the crust. Store bought crust just wouldn’t do for an occasion as important as this. Although tradition was that the pies should be made small, almost the size of a Hostess fruit pie. She made one large pie and placed a star on top, to represent, the one that led the Wise Men to Jesus.
After the pie had baked for the appropriate length of time, she took it out to let it cool.

The smell of the pie reminded her of the last time she baked one. Clark couldn’t keep his hands off or out of the pie. Even thought it was very hot, he keep sticking his fingers into it and then liking off the mincemeat filling. The hot pie mixture couldn’t hurt Clark, he was impervious to pain, but manners needed to be taught to the young boy and Martha broke 4 wooden spoons on his hands that day. Realizing that his persistence was causing his mother to become angry, he finally gave in and stopped being disobedient.

Martha laughed as she recalled that incident.

Jonathan had to sit down and have a man to man talk with Clark about listening to his mother. In the end, all turned out well and they all had not completely cooled mincemeat pie that day. She wondered if Clark Jr. was a stubborn as his father was at times.
As the pie cooled, Martha cleaned up and got ready to see Nell. After collecting the pie, she got in the car, looked in the mirror to see if she looked okay and drove over to Nell’s.

Nell was cooking a late breakfast for the group. Everyone slept in that day. Lana woke refreshed not remembering when, the last time was that, she slept so peacefully . She felt completely restored and in fact didn’t even want any coffee that day. Clark very seldom slept late, but on this particular morning had to be awakened by Lana.

Come on sleepyhead she said as she tickled him, time to get up we have so much to do today, let go little man. Lana took him off to the bathroom to wash up and get ready to meet the world. “You must be clean, you never know who you are going to run into from day to day,” she reminded Clark.

“I know mom,” Clark replied. I also always wear clean underwear, without any holes, just in case I get into an accident.” This he said with a huge grin on his face.

Lana replied, “Young man, don’t you make fun of your mother. Those are important things that you need to remember.” She tried to keep a straight face as she said this, but the look on Clark’s face and the way he said it caused her to break down in unrestrained laughter. She smiled at little Clark and drew him into a tender hug. I love you Clark and no matter what happens today or any day, I want you to never forget it.”

“I will never forget that mommy and I love you too.”

Meanwhile, downstairs, Nell heard the car drive up and went to the door to see who it might be. A smile came to her face when she caught a glimpse of her old friend. She thoughtMartha has come home for Christmas. Well her timing couldn’t be more perfect.
Opening the door, Nell went out to give her old friend a hug. Although they had in the past had their differences because of Jonathan and the way he had treated Nell, many years before. They had become quite close after his death.
“Martha,” Nell said, with a smile on her face. She gave Martha a gentle hug, being careful not to knock the pie out of her hands. “I am so glad to see you today. Your timing is superb. Come on in, I have someone here I want you to see.” She opened the door and Martha went inside. “Wait here,” Nell said. I will be right down. Going upstairs as quickly as she could, she told Lana that an old friend was here and wanted to see her.
Lana replied, “I will be right there Nell as soon as we finished getting our teeth brushed and hair combed.”
Nell came back down the stairs with a smile on her face. “I have a surprise for you Martha, was all that she would say.”
Clark, Lana said, I want you to get all your dirty clothes and put them in our laundry bag. Then come on down stairs. Mommy is going to see who the old friend is.”
Lana was halfway down the stairs, when she reached the spot where you could see into the front room where Nell and Martha were waiting. Lana and Martha saw each other at the same time. Although Martha suspected that Lana was visiting, she still almost dropped the pie after seeing her. Lana stood completely still and screamed a scream of joy. She then ran down the rest of the stairs to meet Martha. They hugged each other for what seemed like hours.

More coming. I am getting sleepy. I hope you like it.
Merry Christmas everybody. Merry Christmas.

Where Are You Christmas

Chapter 7

You’re Special

There are times when two people connect with each other’s spirits in such a special and intimate way, that words are not necessary. Their touch is all that is needed to convey thoughts regarding anything. For example, a mother’s touch or hug is capable of easing the pain of her hurting child, when nothing else or no one can. Or the way her glance into the eyes of a little one, will ease the fear of her frightened child. This is what was occurring now.

Neither Martha nor Lana needed to say anything. Just their touch communicated to one another all that needed to be said and it covered the span of ten years.
As they continued to hug one another, tears of joy ran down both women’s cheeks. This was a special time. A sacred time! Right now, Nell was witnessing a renewing of a relationship, that neither time nor distance could weaken.

To Martha, Lana was the daughter she never had. To Lana Martha was the mother she needed so badly to help her see past the loneliness and hurt that had been so prominent in her life for many years. Yes, this was a time of healing, restoration, hope and it was what both women needed so desperately. It was as if time was suspended for both women.

After they hugged, they drew back only to gaze into each other’s eyes realizing that even though it had been ten years since they had last seen one another, that nothing had changed. The bond between them that was forged so many years before had remained.
“Lana,” Martha said, “it’s so good to see you! I have missed you so much!”

Lana replied, “Martha, I have missed you too. I am sorry that I didn’t keep in touch. It’s just that it was so painful every time that I thought about Clark and thinking of you also reminded me of him and the pain of losing the love of my life. I am so sorry… ”

“No, Lana, I am the one that is sorry. I missed the chance to be of assistance to you in your time of trouble. I sincerely regret that, my dear,” Martha said, with a smile.

Nell was observing their reunion with happiness, and tears of joy began running down her cheeks as well.
Then, before anyone could say anything further, there was a whoosh heard in the room. Everyone turned to see what caused the sound and suddenly, young Clark fell over the couch and landed against the wall with a loud thud.
Lana ran over to him and said, “Clark, are you alright? Did you hurt yourself?”
“I’m fine, mom, really I am. There is no pain, nothing is broken, I am fine.”

Nell asked, somewhat confused, “What just happened? How did Clark just suddenly appear in here and what caused that loud whoosh noise?”

Martha, realizing exactly what had happened, broke out in a loud laugh, as she said, “You certainly are Clark’s boy aren’t you?”

Clark Jr., a little confused, looked at the new red haired woman, who was hugging his mother and had the most incredible smile on her face and such love in her eyes. Who is she? I feel as if I should know her and her smile. It is telling me “I love you and I am so happy to see you!” He quickly looked from this new person in the house to his mother. Lana understood the confused look on his face. She also was beginning to understand what had just happened.

With a smile, she looked at her son with a glance that said, “It’s all right, my dear.” She asked, “Clark what’s wrong? What just happened?”
He responded, “I don’t really know, mommy. I’m scared. I was in the room putting my dirty clothes into the laundry bag, when I heard you scream. All that I could think about was my mommy is in trouble and I have to help her. I ran as fast as I could to try and rescue you from whatever was making you scream and then, I found that I was running real fast, faster than I have ever run before. I couldn’t stop mommy. I ran right past you and fell into the couch and then twisted over the couch into this wall. I’m sorry, mommy; I didn’t mean to break anything. All I wanted to do was to help you.”

Everyone could see that Clark was frightened and confused, by what had just happened and they could also see that he was beginning to tremble.

Lana kissed young Clark on the cheek and then held him in her arms, trying to calm him down. She said, “It’s okay Clark, it’s okay. I expected this to happen to you sooner or later. Don’t worry. Everything is going to be alright.”

He asked, almost crying, “But mommy what happened to me? Why did I run so fast and how did I run into the couch and end up hitting the wall? I’m scared mommy, really scared!”
Lana could feel him start to tremble as tears ran down his face.
Martha knew exactly what to say, “It’s okay, Clark,” Martha said walking over to the young boy. “It’s just that you are special. Yes, very special! You are your mommy’s special boy. That’s why it happened, so you could be able to help your mom and save her from danger.”

He was beginning to calm down a little and he was no longer hyperventilating. He had no idea who this new person was, but he was starting to like her. He wasn’t sure how she knew what happened, but somehow her smile was telling him that everything was going to be all right.
Looking at his mother, he asked her politely, “Mom, is she a relative?”
Martha answered him. “Clark, we have never met, but judging by your handsome looks and seeing what you just did, I think I am your grandmother!” Martha flashed that huge Kent grin as she was realizing exactly what had just occurred.
After hearing this he turned and looked at his mother for confirmation of what this new lady had just told him. Deep within he hoped it was true. He liked her. She had a smile that, like his mother’s, helped him not to feel so alone. She also, somehow, seemed to understand him.

Lana looked into her son’s blue green eyes and said, “I love you, little man.” Then she said this, “Clark, I hope is just the beginning of many surprises.” While turning him to face the stranger, Lana said, “She’s right, my son. Clark, I want you to meet your grandmother, Martha Kent and Martha, meet Clark, Jr.”

Hesitating no longer, Martha ran over to her young grandson and said, as she put her arms around him and held him tight, “I have wanted to see and hold you since I thought I saw you and your mother in the airport yesterday. I love you, Clark, and I want to spend as much time with you as possible. You also need to know that you are exactly like your father. He is a very special person as well. But you will learn more about that as we visit and spend time together.”

Turning to Lana, Martha asked, “Does Clark, Sr. know about his son.”

“No, Mom, he doesn’t. I wasn’t sure if he wanted to ever hear from me again, so, although I want to tell him, I didn’t. “
Clark was happy and surprised; they were talking about his father. His dad was apparently a special person and he didn’t abandon and not love him. His father never knew he had a son. A smile was forming across his face. So, I am Clark, Jr. he thought. That means my father is Clark Kent. I know that since his mother, my grandmother, is Martha Kent. I wonder if he is in mommy’s school yearbook. The more he thought about, the more excited he became. Suddenly, another loud wish was heard. Clark disappeared and returned a few seconds later. He said, “I really like being able to run this fast.”

“Yes, Clark, but you mustn’t do it around anyone that doesn’t know that you are special, or else people will want to take you away and do experiments on you, replied Martha.”

Realizing what she had said, but not quite understanding all its implications, he said, “Oh!” Then with a look of sadness and anticipation on his face, he asked Martha, “Grandma, would you show me which of the people in here is my daddy, please?”
Martha quickly shot a glance over to Lana and asked, “Is it okay Lana?”
“Yes Martha, it’s okay. It’s time for Clark to learn about his father.” But before anything else could be said, Lana went over to him and gave him a hug. “Clark,” Lana said, looking into his beautiful blue green eyes, “I want you to know that I have wanted to tell you about your father, over one thousand times. I also want you to know that I love your father very, very much and the reason I didn’t tell you about him is because it hurt too much to think of him. That’s why I never told you about Clark, Sr. and I am so sorry.”

As Lana said this, tears began to fall from her eyes, partly because she was thinking about his father, but the other reason was that because of the pain, she kept him from knowing about and having a relationship with his father.

Sensing what was happening in Lana and the sadness she was experiencing because of not letting her son know about his father and seeing how much Lana still cared for Clark, Martha went over to her and held her in a loving embrace. Lana sobbed for a while. Martha was more than happy to give her a shoulder to cry on and said, “It okay, Lana, its okay.”

More to come soon.

Where Are You Christmas
Chapter 8

Letting Them In

Meanwhile in Metropolis

“Come on Clark,” Chloe said, “Seriously, what are your plans going to be for Christmas Day? Lois and I were thinking of starting the day off opening gifts and then going to spend time with old friends. Why don’t you join us? It’s going to be a lot of fun! Besides, it will give Lois an opportunity to spend some time with you outside of the office. She has really taken a liking to you, since you’ve come back from training. Please plan to be with us. ”

“Chloe, you know I don’t celebrate Christmas anymore. Besides, I have my Superman duties to carry out. I really don’t have the time to spend with old friends.”
“Clark, you can relax for one day. Nothing happens on Christmas Day; even the crooks are visiting with their families. Seriously, you have to open up sooner or later. It’s time to let people in again.”

“What are you talking about, Chloe, what do you mean let people in again?”
“You know exactly what I mean, Clark, you have been skillfully avoiding doing anything with anyone outside of office activities. You know some of us would welcome the chance of getting to know you better and others would love to have the opportunity of just getting to know you period. You have shut us all out. Like I said, open up, let us in. Clark, we want to be a part of your life, you know, like we used to be.”

“No, Chloe, not yet. I am not ready to let people back into my life in that way. It always ends up being too painful.”
“Clark, you can’t keep people away from you forever. You have to let someone get close to you sooner or later.”
“I can’t Chloe, I can’t. Every time I have let someone get close, ‘The Superman Curse’ goes into effect and they eventually get hurt. It happens to everyone I have ever loved or cared for. I refuse to let it occur again.”

“There is no such thing as a ‘Superman Curse’ and you know it. Lois and I have known you for a long time and nothing has happened to us and nothing ever will. There is no curse. I will agree that unfortunate things happened to some people we knew from Smallville, but they were coincidence, not related to or caused by any curse.”
Having said this she walked over to where he was standing and put her arms around him and gave him a friendly hug. “Clark,” she whispered, “Let us in Clark, let us in, please, it’s time. Actually it’s way past time.”
“Whoa,” they heard a voice say. “Smallville, I have been trying to get you to notice me for months and you have had a secret thing for my cousin? Well, I never saw that coming.”
Lois was joking, but somewhere deep down inside, she was a little bit jealous of Chloe, who was able to get closer to him than anyone else could. “So, Smallville, the office party for The Daily Planet is tomorrow evening at The Doubletree Metropolis. Are you planning to go? Are you taking a date?”

“Sorry, Lois,” Clark replied, “I wasn’t planning to go at all. I have things to do.”

“Like what?” she replied. “What could be more important than getting to know your fellow workers at the party? Come on with us, Clark. We can all go together and you can be my date! You are just too good looking to sit at home eating beans and franks and watching T.V. What do you say? Think of it as our first date, okay?”
“Lois, I am really not ready to go to any parties. I am sorry, but I have to say, no ”

“There then, it’s settled. Chloe and I will pick you up at seven tomorrow at your place. This is great; we are going to have so much fun together. You won’t regret about coming with us. Besides, Clark, something tells me that we are destined to be with each other, so we had better get the ball rolling.”
As they were discussing the plans for tomorrow, Perry White, the editor for The Daily Planet, yelled, “Kent, get in here!”

“Yes, chief,” he replied, walking over to Mr. White’s office and going inside.

“Kent, close the door and sit down. I want to talk to you for a few minutes. I have been watching you closely since the day you started working for The Planet.”
“Is it something about my work, Mr. White? If it is, just let me know what you are not pleased with and I will correct it right away.”
Mr. White chuckled. “It’s not your work. Your work is impressive. In fact you are my best reporter. If I am correct in my feelings - and I am rarely wrong - someday you are going to win a Pulitzer Prize for your efforts. But, I have been noticing that you are a loner, Kent - something that isn’t good in our field. I want you to make friends, get close to your fellow workers. I overheard your conversation with Chloe and Lois. I think it would be a great idea for you to go to that party with them.”

“But, sir…,” Clark replied.

“Now look, Clark,” Perry replied, cutting him off, “I am the boss here, and I have a feeling of what is best for my employees, and I want to see you at that party. Do we understand each other, Kent?”

“Yes, Mr. White, I think we do.”
“Good,” replied Perry, “now off to work, lad. I am sure there is something you can work on before today is over. See if you can come up with more information on this Superman fellow. I have a feeling that he is going to be hot news from now on. I wonder where he came from.”
As he left the office to go back to his desk, Clark realized that it was time to begin letting people get a little closer to him. He would allow Chloe and Lois to get to know him a little better. Maybe Lois isn’t so bad after all. I will give it a try.

Back in Smallville

After Martha and Lana finished hugging, they both looked at the Clark Jr., who was patiently waiting. He was curious to see who his father was. Martha flipped the pages of the yearbook and came to the pages with the graduates’ pictures. Instead of finding the page where her son’s graduation picture was placed, she instead went to the page where Lana and Clark were pictured together and the title underneath said, “Most Popular Couple.” Finding the page, Martha said to Clark, “Let’s go in and sit down.”
When Martha, Lana and Clark Jr. were all seated at the dining room table, Martha showed him the picture of his parents.

Lana looked at the picture and recalled the day it was taken.
She remembered that it was several months after they had gotten back together. Clark had lost his memory. He found her at school, putting things in her locker and asked her why they were no longer together as a couple. She told him she didn’t know. Clark couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He then asked her how could he have been the one to end their relationship, especially the way he was feeling about her. He asked her to meet him at his house the next day so they could discuss things. On her arrival at his house she discovered that Clark Sr. had no recollection of the events of the previous day. Embarrassed, she started to leave, but then something totally unexpected happened. Clark called her back, told her that he couldn’t do this any longer and asked her to stay. He wanted to begin seeing her again. He told her that this time it was going to be different..
Remembering this brought a tear to Lana’s eye. She fought back the rest that were threatening to come.
Lana was pulled out of her memory by a “Wow,” which was uttered by Clark Jr. “That’s my dad,” he shouted. “He looks just like me!”

“No, my love,” Lana said, “You look just like your father!”

Martha began to tell him about his father while paging through the yearbook. Proudly, she stopped at the pages set aside to remember the year; Smallville’s football team became state champions. They were lead to the championship by captain and star quarterback, Clark Kent.
“Wow,” little Clark exclaimed, “my daddy was star quarterback and captain of the football team. This is totally awesome! I sure hope I get to meet my daddy soon.”

“Well, before we go back to California, we will plan a trip to Metropolis to take you to meet your daddy,” Martha said. “That is, if it’s okay with you, Lana?”
“It’s okay with me,” Lana said, with a nervous smile. “Besides, your daddy and I have several things to talk about,” she said to Clark Jr. “Martha, please don’t tell him we are here yet. No matter how much I want to see him, I am just a bit nervous. Just give me a few days to get myself emotionally ready to see the man of my dreams again.”

Where Are You Christmas
His Father’s Son
Chapter 9

Martha, Lana and Clark Jr. sat at the table for almost an hour, talking about Clark senior. The son he had never met listened closely to every word. Even at his young age, the lad was beginning to understand, just how special his father is. He was amazed as he listened to story after story told by Martha and also his mother, about his dad. He noticed how happy his mother had become. Lana seemed to come to life, as she and his grandmother discussed his father. They laughed over and over again as they remembered things that he had done and how he reacted to day to day circumstances he faced.
He could hear the love, in both his mother and grandmother’s voices, as they talked about his father. The more he listened, young Clark found himself becoming more and more excited. He wanted to meet him more and more.
The young man absolutely loved seeing his father’s pictures, especially the ones where he was in his football uniform. He imagined himself being at a game watching his father throwing the winning touchdown that lead Smallville to victory. Yes, State Champs - it just didn’t get any better than that. Wow, he thought, this even tops Kyle Johnson’s dad, who played for a team - a high school team - in California. His father kicked field goals, but they didn’t even make it to the playoffs, let alone go all the way to state.
He couldn’t have been prouder of his father, as he imagined everyone cheering him on. Then Clark cheered as the other players put him on top of their shoulders and led him around the field celebrating the victory. He hoped he would be half the athlete his father was.
His next favorite pictures were the ones of his father and his mother together. In those pictures he saw something that surprised him: his mother had a glow about her. She actually beamed, exactly the way she did now. Little Clark also noticed the look of absolute joy on her face as she talked about and remembered this man. He especially noted her eyes; they were absolutely radiant, with love - love for his father. He could see it; it was obvious, that his father was special, very special to everyone there, but especially to his mother.
He smiled as he watched the two adults, continuing to reminisce about his dad and times they all shared together. Little Clark was thoroughly enjoying observing all of this. He had never seen his mother so alive. For the first time, he was seeing her totally happy, animated, full of emotion.
Through the years, as he was growing up, he could see that there was something about his mother that never made sense. She displayed happiness and joy, especially whenever he was around, but for some reason, his mother never seemed completely happy. There seemed to be something keeping her from being totally elated.
But, now young Clark was beginning to understand. Something had happened between his parents, many years ago. Whatever it was caused them to go separate ways and kept them from reconciling. That separation was what caused his mother to be sad and it also kept her from being completely happy.
Clark remembered, as he was growing up, different men would try to have a relationship with his mother, but she never went out with anyone, always telling them that she had already been with the love of her life and that no one could ever fill his shoes. She meant it. No matter how hard they tried to convince her to spend time with them, she never did. She was dead serious; she wanted to be with no one other than Clark Sr. Now, young Clark was beginning to understand his mother a little bit better. She was completely in love with his father and wanted to be with no one else. She would not lower her standards for anyone. His father set a standard a long time ago and no one even came close to it.
He remembered the nights, when he would hear his mother crying in her bed. Every time he went in to see what was wrong, he would find her looking at pictures of someone. When she saw him, Lana would close the album, put it in a cedar chest and lock it up. Then she would turn to her son and with tears in her eyes say, “Hold me. Mommy is a little bit sad right now, but I will be okay in a few minutes.” The young boy would walk over to his mother and bravely say, “Don’t be sad, Mom, it’s going to be alright. You’ll see, it will all turn out okay. I feel it deep down inside.”
Only now did he understand who she was missing… his dad. Then all of a sudden he was pulled out of his thoughts, by a voice that said, “Would you like tha, Clark?” Not knowing what his grandmother had just asked he looked at her, confused.
Lana laughed and said, looking him in the eye, “Earth to Clark, Earth to Clark, come in, Clark.”
“What?” was all that he could say.
“My, my, we were deep in thought weren’t we, my son?” his mother asked. “Your grandmother was wondering if you wanted to go to the farm and see where your father grew up. If you are good I just may take you for a ride on one of the horses. What do you say?”
“Oh yes, yes, yes, yes!” Clark replied. “Can we go now?”
“Right now,” his mother replied. “Grab your coat and let’s go.”
“Ah mom, do I have to? You know I never get cold,” the boy replied.
Martha laughed and smiled at Lana, “Not affected by his surroundings. It looks like young Clark is developing another ability. It’s like watching Clark Sr. grow up, all over again. This is so much fun.” After having said this she reached over and squeezed Lana’s hand. “Don’t worry, my dear, Martha said to Lana. It’s not as painful as it seems, watching them develop these powers.”
“It looks like I am definitely going to need your advice on helping handle all of this. I do remember his father had quite a difficult time, for many years, coming to terms with his heritage.”
“Abilities, heritage… Mom, what do you mean by all of that?” asked the boy.
“Son, we will talk about it all later, but I have a feeling that that time is approaching very quickly, especially the way things seem to be going. It’s almost like this was all pre-ordained. I believe this is a time of coming home, a time of setting everything straight. What do you think Martha?”
“I am right with you Lana, I felt it when I thought I saw you at the airport and then again when I saw Clark Jr. with Dean at the store. Something had been set in motion, my dear Lana. I wouldn’t be surprised if we are soon blessed with a visit from you know who.”
“I pray that you are right Martha, I pray that you are right. Okay son, let’s go and you don’t have to bring your jacket. You don’t need it after all. You are your father’s son.”
“Alright,” he replied, “let’s get going!”

Where Are You Christmas
Chapter 10
More Than You Could Ever Imagine

The happy trio said good-bye to Nell and Dean, climb into Martha’s car and were headed to The Kent Farm.
“Have you ever been to a farm, Clark?” Martha asked.
“No grandma,” he replied, “but I have been to a petting zoo once in California. Mom took me there so I could see the animals. It had a little pony, ducks, and a peacock. It was fun, but I wanted to see some horses.”
“Well, rest assured you will see animals here. This farm has cows, chickens, bulls, horses and all kind of animals. Your dad loved it here. He and your grandfather enjoyed working the farm. Clark Sr. would be up at the crack of dawn…but only at your grandfather’s insistence. Your dad liked to sleep late whenever he could get away with it. Are you like that, little Clark?”
“He is exactly like his father, down to the minutest details. Trying to get him up is just as bad as it was trying to wake up his father. It really is surprising how alike they are and they’ve never met. You might say that he is his father’s clone.”

Clark was thoroughly enjoying the conversation between his mother and grandmother. For so long he wondered just who his father was and what he was like. He often imagined his father being a bit like him, having the same dark, curly, hair. Whenever he would look into the mirror, he would see his dark blue-green eyes and pictured his father with them as well. He imagined so many other things about him and now to hear that they were enough alike that his mother considered him to be his father’s clone…well that was enough to put the little guy on cloud nine for the rest of the day. It went without saying, Clark Jr. was thrilled to be going to the place where his daddy grew up.
Martha continued, “Your daddy started his day by feeding the livestock, gathering up the eggs that had been laid the night before, gave hay to the cows and he did so many other things. He worked very hard and he did all that before breakfast and before going to school.”
“Did you hear that, Clark, your father did all that before school? So my wanting you to be up at six thirty in the morning to get you ready for school is very reasonable,” Lana said smiling at the little guy who couldn’t say anything. After all he just heard that his father was up at five to do chores before school.

“Another thing that I remember about your dad was that he was always late for school. Just like you, little Clark. Even as fast as he was, he could never get to school on time. So many times he would miss the bus and have to run to school. Has he changed that part of his life, Martha?”
“Lana, please call me mom. After all, you are the daughter I never had, you are the mother of my grandson and the only woman my son has ever loved.”

“Are you sure about that Martha; I mean, we don’t know how Clark Sr. would feel about that. He probably doesn’t even want to see me again. After all these years, he has probably moved on.”
“Lana,” Martha replied, “I haven’t heard a thing from him since he left ten years ago, but I know one thing about my son: he has loved only one person in his life. That person is sitting right next to me in this car…one Lana Lang. Now my son isn’t the brightest star in the sky when it comes to acting and reacting to love, but I know he will never move on. Lana, he has loved you since you were children and he always will love you, no matter what happens in his world.”

“You sound so sure of that, Mom. I wish I could be that confident about the way he feels about me.”
“Just you wait and see, Lana, once he gets past that pride, hurt and feeling that he is doing what is best for everyone. He will be on his knees begging you to come back to him. I know Clark Sr. I know him like a book I studied many years ago.”

When they drove up to the farm, Lana looked over at Martha, smiled, tapped her lightly on the shoulder and said, “You don’t know how much I missed this place. There were times I would dream about walking over here from Aunt Nell’s to see Clark. Martha, nothing has changed. It’s all the same. Yes, the same wonderful place I grew to love so many years ago. It’s like coming home again.”

“Welcome home, Lana, this is your home - and you are the daughter I never had. So welcome home again, my dear. Little Clark, welcome to, the Kent farm! Enjoy yourself here.”

“Wow, mom, you lived right next to dad! Mom, did you know each other for a long time?“ young Clark asked.
“Yes, son we have known each other for a long time. Your dad and I met when I was five years old,” Lana answered. I was at Aunt Nell’s flower shop and Martha came in to buy some flowers. Your father was with her. All he did was stare at me…he didn’t say a word. Later I found out that he thought I was an Angel, that I was much to pretty to be anything else. When he finally realized that I was a girl, the girl who lived next store to him, we became childhood playmates. We did everything together for many years, but we drifted apart when we were in junior high. Your father and I began falling in love and that was a no-no, for that age. We went our separate ways. I became a cheerleader and later went out with the captain of the football team Whitney. Your father, because of reasons you will soon learn about, kept to himself for a long time. But as fate would have it, we met again years later at the graveyard. I was talking things over with my parents - I will explain more about that later - and he was there because of wanting to be alone after hearing some very disturbing information about himself. It was at that moment in time that the relationship that had ended came to life again. We both realized that we cared for each other, but in a way that was much more than friendship. I began coming over to see your dad in his loft. We just talked about things that affected up from day to day. As we spent more time together we grew closer and closer and fell deeper and deeper in love.”

“Well, enough of that, let’s go inside and look around. I bet you want to see your father’s room. I think he even has a stack of superhero comic books that Martha hasn’t thrown out.”
“Oh,” replied Martha, “I have wanted him to throw out those silly comic books for years. I guess you can take them with you, Clark.”
“Really, grandma? Dad won’t get mad if I take them, will he?”
“I don’t think so, Clark. Besides what does a grown man need with comic books?”
First thing they did on entering the house was to show Clark Jr. pictures of his father and grandfather. “Wow,” he said, “grandpa looks like he was a lot of fun to be around.
Martha told them to continue looking through the pictures and went off to fix them breakfast.
After a while, Clark realized that he was missing his favorite cartoon show, Underdog. Quickly, he picked up the remote and turned the stations until he found it. As he was enjoying the show, there was an interruption, a news bulletin.
Apparently a jumbo jet was going down on its approach to Metropolis International Airport, but it was saved by a figure in a blue suit and a red cape…Superman.
Clark became so very, very excited… “Wow, Mom look at Superman. Do you see how strong he is and he can even fly! I wish I was like him.”

A smile spread across his mother’s face as she thought, You are more like him then you could ever imagine, my son. More than you can ever imagine.

Thanks for your reply!!!:) Clark lives in Metropolis. He hasn't been back to Smallville since he left ten years ago.

Martha is still a senator and returns to Smallville whenever there is a break. Getting out of Washington periodically, helps her to keep her sanity!

Ben Hubbard is the one who watches over the farm and cares for all the animals.

Where Are You Christmas
Chapter 11
Late Again

Later, at the Daily Planet, Clark Kent hurries through main office areas, as fast as he dared go. He didn’t see anyone, as he quickly moved from one room into the next. He was headed for a very special meeting room and as usual, he was late. When he finally entered the room, he could see that the meeting had been in progress, for some time. He felt bad, because this time he was really late, moreso than usual. Quickly and quietly he sat down, trying to draw as little attention to himself as possible. All he could think of was, I’m really in trouble now. Perry spotted me and he didn’t look too happy. Realizing he was in hot water, he tried to deflect some of the heat of Perry White’s ire away from himself. Before the white headed editor could say a word, Clark apologized for being late, mumbling a vague excuse. This tactic usually worked for him, but today it fell far short of its intended purpose. It wasn’t long before he heard a stern voice speaking to him.
“Where have you been Kent,” Perry asked gruffly? “When I call for a meeting at three in the afternoon, I mean three, not three-fifteen or three-thirty. Do you understand me?”
“I am sorry Mr. White,” he replied. “I was gathering timely information for a story that I am working on.”

“Okay Kent, you’ve got a million excuses, but from now on please try to be on time. It a great quality and it will help you, to go far in this business. Look over there, Lois and Chloe and the other’s here have been here for thirty minutes. Some people actually have an interest in moving forward in this profession."

"There is no denying it, you are a good reporter Kent, but you have to learn that no matter how good you are, there are basic courtesies that need to be adhered to and being on time tops the list! Have you ever heard of Vince Lombardi, Kent? He coached the Championship Green Bay Packers. Those were the days. That’s when men were men. They didn’t play for huge salaries; they played for the glory of being champions! ”
“They won twelve League Championships (more than any other team in the NFL). The won nine NFL Championships before there was a Super Bowl. They also won four Super Bowl Championships. Two of them were under Coach Lombardi in 1967 and 1968. They were truly champions Kent, each and every one of them!”
“Now, let me ask you a question Clark. Do you know what Lombardi would do and say to these superstars as they began each new season?”

“Well, I’m not really sure Mr. White,” Clark answered, wondering what his boss was getting at.

“Well, my dear lad,” Perry said, “At the start of each season, he would look at each one of the men on his team. Men who were proven champions and then, he would hold up a football for them all to see and say to them, “Gentlemen, this is a football. Kent, he was saying this to men like Bart Starr, Paul Hornung, Henry Jordon and Ray Nitschke. They were all accomplished players, but each season, he began with the basics. Do you see what I am getting at mister or am I just wasting my time, trying to help you see my point.”

“No Mr. White, I understand exactly what you are getting at, it’s coming in loud and clear, go on.”

The point is this Clark; no matter how far you go in this field or any other…You can’t forget the basics. Being on time for meetings is one of the...”

“Basics, Mr. White, I get it,” Clark replied.

“Good,” Mr. White replied! Now let’s finish up here.”

“I understand Mr. White, thank you for the illustration,” replied Clark, feeling a little embarrassed, he wanted to be there on time, but there was no way he was going to allow that plane, to crash into the side of that huge office building or ignore that young child who fell into the raging Metropolis River and was drowning. Yes, Clark wanted to be like everyone else and be on time for everything, but Superman’s life just wasn’t that simple. Mr. White would definitely see things a bit differently if he only knew who Clark really was and why he was always late. But he could never know and Clark realized that this was probably the first of many lectures that he would hear.

The rest of the meeting went quickly and painlessly. There were some changes coming about at the planet and Mr. White wanted to crush the rumors, that Lex Luthor was about to purchase the Daily Planet and replace the editor with one of his people. Perry had received notice from the owner that he would continue to turn down every offer that Lex might make. The Planet had always been a beacon for truth and integrity and the owner Percy Gardner intended to keep it that way. Allowing Lex to have anything to do with the paper would extinguish that beacon completely.

After the meeting, Lois and Chloe approached Clark… “Way to go Clark. Thanks, for getting Perry all worked up. Getting through the rest of today isn’t going to be easy. Thank God the day is almost over,” Lois said giving him a frown.

“What was it that kept you from being on time, Chloe asked?” Grinning at Clark and waiting for his answer.
“Oh hi Lois, Chloe," he responded. "I am working on discovering what Lex Luthor is up to and I am looking into the rumors that he is developing an army of super villains, that have amazing abilities and powers, that, not even Superman can withstand. If this is true, there won’t be anyone who can stop that monster.”

"Clark, listen to me Lois said, it’s Christmas time, relax, your much too tense and uptight. Nothing is going to happen now... It’s Christmas! You worry too much, relax a bit, and chill out Smallville. That’s why you need to come to the office party with us. You are becoming a bit paranoid. I am really beginning to worry about you.”

“Clark, she’s right Chloe added. I am starting to worry about you, as well. You have been driving yourself way too hard. If you don’t slow down, I am afraid that you are going to lose it.”

“I am not losing it and I am fine, so stop worrying about me.”

"Well prove it Chloe replied, Lois and I are going to Micelle’s to have a slice of pizza, a beer and relax a little. It’s been a long day and we need to unwind a bit, but you my long time friend, need to wind down a lot. What do you say, will you come with us?”

“I can’t Lois, I got to get started with my investigative research, on this newest rumor I heard today.”

“Do you see what we are saying Clark, you never take time to unwind and relax. Lois and I are giving you a perfect opportunity, to get your mind off of your work and you are turning us down. Come on, it will be only a few hours out of your busy schedule. Please come with us.”

“You two just won’t give up. Okay then, I will go with you, but don’t expect me to always go out with you two,” Clark sighed as he gave in, hoping he wasn’t going to regret it.

“Don’t worry Smallville we are going to take good care of you. You will see.” Lois smiled as she said this, hoping that this would be the begging of a closer long term friendship.

Back in Smallville, Clark, Martha and Lana were entering his father’s bedroom. For Lana, it was like being teleported through time. She was immediately, ten years back in time and the thoughts and feelings that hit her caused her to freeze. She even stopped breathing. She half expected to see the young man walk through the door, pick her up like he used to do, spin her around and place one of those Clark Kent special kisses, on her waiting lips.

She was instantly, pulled out of her daydream by the voice of little Clark. As he looked around his father’s room he smiled loving all the model airplane’s and ships that were placed around the room. “Wow, mom did dad make all of these? They are so cool, look he even painted them! Can I play with them grandma,” he asked?

"I am sure that you can Clark," his grandmother said, with a grin forming across her face. He is so much like his father. Clark used to play with these for hours and hours.. "Clark, I am certain that your father would want you to have them. So be sure to take them with you, when you are leaving for home."

“Are you sure grandma, I don’t know if he would ever want to part with them, they are really pretty cool!”

“Don’t worry about that grandson; I know for a fact that if your father had known anything about you, you would have already received them as a gift.”

Lana knew that Martha didn’t mean what she said to hurt her, but it stung just the same. Seeing the tears in her eyes, Martha rushed over to hug Lana and assure her that her reply was not meant to cause her any hurt or pain.

“I’m okay Martha, I guess I am just feeling a bit guilty about things. I’ll be okay soon,” Lana said wiping tears from her face.

“Here we are little Clark, I found three boxes full of comic book. I am sure that you father would want you to have them as well,” Martha, said this enjoying the look of disbelief on her grandson’s face. She was also happy that he was enjoying seeing things, that were associated with his father. She also smiled to herself, realizing just how happy Clark Sr. was going to be when he learned of his son.

“Are you sure he won’t mind grandma? there are some very valuable comics in these boxes? Look at all the Warrior Angel comics! Little Clark said this not believing his good fortune. Even a child his age knew a great collection of comic books, when he saw one. Not even Sjleone had a better collection. His mother allowed him to read comics, from time to time but he could only have a few. This was a genuine gold mine!”

“Well grandson, why don’t we plan on going to Metropolis tomorrow and ask him yourself?”

“Tomorrow grandma, are you serious,” the young man asked?

“Yes tomorrow, if it okay with your mother. It high time you got to meet your father and its past time for him to learn about you,” she replied.

“What do you say mom,” he asked?

After taking in a very deep breath, Lana paused, as if pondering all the potential possible outcomes of such a meeting. She had a look of worry on her face and she wanted to say, not yet, but the look on her young son’s face caused her to say… “Yes,” tomorrow we will take you to meet your father.” She couldn’t deny him the chance of meeting his father, no matter what the outcome might be for her and Clark Sr.”

“Lana, I’ll call and let him know we are coming and want to spend some time with him,” Martha offered.

“No mom, she replied, I would rather it be a surprise.”
“So tomorrow will be the day,” Martha said with a smile. “Now little Clark, I want you to see your father’s special place in the barn and then we can go off horse riding. Even though they haven’t been ridden for some time, they are all very time and even a first timer will have fun riding them.”

Where Are You Christmas
Chapter 12
What’s Happening to Me

Clark Jr. spent a lot of time looking through his father’s room. He loved the comics, the models and everything else that his father had there. When he finished looking at everything, Martha suggested a look in the barn. She knew young Clark would enjoy seeing it. As they were headed in that direction, Lana said to Martha, “I visited ‘The Loft’ yesterday, I hope you don’t mind, I just had to see the place where he and I spent so much time together. It was hard, being so close, to stay away.” Tears began to well up in her eyes when Lana said this.

Seeing this, Martha gave her a hug, smiled and said Lana, “This is every bit your home as it is mine. I have always considered you to be my daughter. So you visit anywhere here whenever you like and you do not have to ask for permission.”

After that was said, they walked out of the kitchen door to the barn. Clark Jr. was already getting excited. He was about to ride his first horse! As they walked into the barn, Clark was amazed by all the farm equipment. There were tractors, bailers, tools and all sorts of gear necessary to keep a farm going. Lana looked over at little Clark, happy to see the joy on his face, as he was discovering this new world. “Keep up son and be careful, not to trip over any tools.”
“I will,” was all that the young lad replied.

As they headed to the stairs that led to the famous Loft, a hoist that was used to lift heavy equipment to a storage area in the barn broke loose from its moorings, fell from the top of the roof and was headed directly toward Lana. Lana froze in place and was unable to move out of its way. Looking over to where the sound of the breaking brackets was heard, Clark Jr. saw the danger his mother was in and before he knew it sped over to where she was and caught the huge crane in his bare hands. He held the five hundred pound piece of equipment above his head like it was a ten pound cardboard box.
It wasn’t until after his mother had moved to safety that Clark Jr. realized what he had done. He acted out of instinct. All he knew was that his mother was in danger and he had to move very quickly to save her. He had no idea, what he had done until his mother was out of harm’s way. Once she was safe, he carefully maneuvered the piece of heavy equipment out of the way.

Both Martha and Lana were amazed at what they had just seen, but knowing who his father was, the surprised, quickly faded. Somehow they knew, that different abilities would soon become evident as the need arose. Little Clark on the other hand, although his mother was safe, became very much afraid of what was starting to happen to him. Not knowing what was happening to him, he placed the object down, he sat on a piece of it and began crying.

Lana ran over to her son and held him close, she could feel him shiver as he cried. She knew how frightened he was, after all, what ten year old child could do what he just did. As she tried comforting him, she made a decision. It was time, time, he knew everything about his father. As Martha approached them, Lana could see by looking into her eyes that she felt the same way. Putting her hand on young Clark’s shoulder she said, “its okay, honey. It’s time you learn the complete truth about your father and why you have these wonderful gifts starting to appear. You see Clark what is happening to you is perfectly normal. Don’t cry grandson, try not to be afraid. These things that are happening to you…well you are becoming just like your father, right Lana.”

“Yes son, don’t cry and please stop shaking, you just saved your mother’s life. Thank you sweetheart! Now come with me. We are going to the Loft and it’s time to tell you a story that’s long overdue. A story I have wanted to share with you for many years, but couldn’t. Forgive me for being so selfish and for thinking only about my own hurt. You see, my silence has not only hurt me, but you and your grandmother as well.”

Taking her son’s hand Lana followed Martha up the stairs and into the loft. Leading him over to the large window, she said, “Look at the view son. Your father and I saw many sunsets from here and they are spectacular. You will get to see one too, before we leave for home, if it’s okay with your grandmother.”

“You know that it is,” Martha answered.

After looking out the window for a few minutes and pointing out different things to her son, Lana walked over to the couch in the corner of the loft. The young boy also sat down on the couch. Lana smiled, wondering if he might have been conceived, on the very couch, where they were now seated. Martha sat in the chair at the desk not far from them. She said to her grandson, “Clark, your father spent many hours in this place. It was where he could get away from the worries that plagued his life and have a bit of refuge, from all the troubles of this world.”

Looking over to Lana, Martha said, “Lana, tell him who his father is my dear. Once you do that, what I have to share will make sense.”

With a nervous look on her face she tried to smile. She could see that her son was all eyes and ears, as he waited to hear what she was going to say. “Clark,” she began, “Your father is someone very special! Because of that, you, being his son, are very special. Only now are you beginning to realize, just how special you really are. The things that are happening to you and now, seem so frightening are special abilities. Abilities or gifts that will enable you to help other people just the way he does. Don’t be afraid, your father acted in a similar fashion when his abilities began to manifest. Am I right Martha?”

Yes, you are Lana, he behaved in the same way as you are now grandson.”

“Mother,” the frightened young boy said, “Please tell me what is happening to me. Mommy, I am scared.”

There is no reason for you to be afraid, son, your father’s name is Clark Kent, but he is known by another name as well. The other name he goes by is Superman. You my child are Superman’s son! That’s why you have these gifts starting to show themselves through you, its funny how they began manifesting while you were here in Smallville.”

Young Clark didn’t know what to think, after hearing this. He had a half smile on his face, as what his mother had just said, began to sink in. But still having difficulty believing what he just heard, the boy looked over at his grandmother for confirmation.

She had the biggest smile on her face and as if to answer his unvoiced question said, "Its true young Clark, your father is the famous and powerful Superman! You grandson are his only child. Yes, you are Superman’s son! That is why these seemingly strange things are happening to you. My lovely grandson, the things that seem so strange to you now are really your own natural abilities beginning to appear. There will be more appearing in the future."

Wow! I never expected Clark Jr. to have to save Lana. that was cool. And It was great the way Martha and Lana tolf him the truth together. I'm sure it will be much easier for him now, as his gifts develop, knowing that he is the son of superman. And yet, that is a rather daunting knowlege in itself. I can't wait for Clark & Clark, Jr. to meet each other. And the Clana reunion as well.

Thanks for the update, Joe. Sorry I took so long to reply.

Where Are You Christmas
Chapter 13
Revelations

A million thoughts ran through Clark Sr. mind as he sat at Micelle’s. The pizza was good, probably the best he had ever tasted, he even had two beers at Lois and Chloe’s urging. He knew the beer wouldn’t affect him, but even though it didn’t, he just wasn’t one to consume alcohol often. Probably something he picked up from Jonathan. He briefly smiled thanking Jor-El for sending him to the Kents. Clark smiled a little wider and participated in the conversation as much as he could. He was thinking about the story he was working on and the leads he had to look into, but as Lois smiled at him and flashed her eye in a sexy fashion, his mind drifted to a different time and place.

It was a time when he was more alive, happier. It was possibly nine, no it was a little more than ten years ago and he was with her, the brown eyed goddess. She was still the only woman he ever thought of…Whenever he slowed down enough to relax. She was the one he ever loved and cared about, but that was ten years ago and although he knew that she was the only lady he would ever love…They just couldn’t get along together, but in addition to that, he was never able to forgive himself for what she had become. He started to replay their last conversation with one another until, he was briefly pulled out of his daydream, when Lois said, “Earth to Clark, Earth to Clark, what planet are you on Clark.”

“Oh, I am sorry, Lois,” he replied a little embarrassed. “I was thinking about the things I have to get done in the next few days, you know, with the holidays and all around the corner.”

“Well, try to stay here with us while we are out together, please! I hope you are thinking about what you are going to wear to the Christmas Party. It’s just two days away. Oh, by the way, I like jewelry, if you are getting me something for Christmas. We are going to have a great time at that party, Clark. You just wait and see. I can just feel it, we are going to be great friends.”

“You know Smallville, we have to do more together and we have to get to know each other better. Taking his hand in hers and looking across the table into his green eyes, she said, I bet these beautiful eyes have a lot to say. I’ll bet my paycheck, that there are volumes of stories, in your eyes. I wish I could read into them now. ”

He smiled back again and thought, if you only knew how right you are Lois, if you only knew. Lois asked the waiter to get them another round of beer and then said, “Now stay with us Clark, no more daydreaming. I am going to have then play a special song by Whitesnake and we are going to dance, you and I.” After saying that, she was off to see if they had a Whitesnake CD. It wasn’t a problem if they didn’t, she had one with her and would have them play it off of her CD.

Clark sighed in relief as she left the table and Chloe a little bit jealous, said to Clark, “You are in trouble my friend she has you in the sights of her love gun.”
Clark looked at her a little bit surprised, “What do you mean Chloe, we are just friends. In fact we are all friends, good friends, you know that.”

“Maybe you and I are, but Lois only mentions Whitesnake when she has one thing on her mind, you may end up having some good loving tonight. Just be careful not to hurt her, if you know what I mean. I would be hard to explain to the Gynecologist, yeah, I got these injuries making love to Superman.” Chloe laughed very hard after saying this, so hard, that she almost choked on her pizza. The expression on Clark’s face was priceless. He actually appeared to be afraid. A look you didn’t see on his face often.
“Lois came back to their table and asked Chloe what she was laughing at?”
“Clark doesn’t know about Whitesnake,” she replied.

Lois turned a little red and said, “Well Whitesnake is music for people who feel a special way about each other and would like to know each other better. I’ll tell you more about it, later this evening, by the way have you eaten any oysters today? There is a great store not far from here, which has fresh oysters flown in daily. We will pick some up on the way to my place.”

Chloe, laughed so hard she almost lost her beer all over the table. Clark wasn’t a complete moron when it came to sex.

He knew what Lois was implying, but couldn’t believe she was being that forward. He had no intentions of sleeping with Lois or for that matter, Chloe. In fact he had no intentions of sleeping with anyone. There was only one person he ever wanted to make love to and she disappeared over ten years ago. He started to look for her, but figured that she had moved on and found someone else. She had to know he was Superman, but if she didn’t, everyone knew Clark Kent of the Daily Planet. He was easily found, but she never made contact, she just wasn’t interested and he wanted to respect her decision. But Clark had bigger concern at the time, Lois was moving closer and closer to him and he wasn’t enjoying the look in her eyes.

Realizing that she had one thing on her mind, he felt that this was his cue to leave. He excused himself after making up an reason, about needing to get something important before the shop closed and headed straight for the door. Once he was out of the restaurant, he quickly changed into his Superman Suit and took to the air. It was long past time to patrol Metropolis.

Lois had a look of serious disappointment on her face. She quickly got off of her chair, ran to the door to see if she could catch him, but when she went outside, he was gone.
After she went back into Micelli’s, she sat down. She had the strangest look on her face. “What’s the matter Cuz, Chloe asked seeing her expression?”

“Chloe, he’s gone and he left in a hurry. I don’t get it. How could he turn down the chance to rub up against these? You don’t think I was too aggressive do you. Maybe, I scared him away. “

“Not a chance Lois, but I know him better than you. When he says he has to do something, it’s pretty important, so don’t take it to heart that he isn’t interested in you…Just give him more time. He will come around; besides, I don’t think anyone can resist the twins, for very long.”

“Are you sure Chloe, I am really starting to fall for old Smallville. Now, I see why you were so interested in him all those years back in high school. “
“Lois, it’s like I said at Prom, so many years ago. There is so much more to Clark Kent. More than meets the eye.”

“Chloe, for the first time in my life, I can say, I know what you mean.” Then with a big smile on her face, she hoisted up the twins a bit and said, “He’s ours guys, it’s only a matter of time.”

Meanwhile, back at the Loft

His head was spinning as he sat there on the couch. Part of him was so scared, frightened enough, that all he could think of doing was running away, as fast and as far as he could go; but another part of him was thrilled and very excited, intrigued, by what he heard.

What a day this had been.In the span of six or seven hours, he not only knew who his father was and that he was also a high school football star, but that was only the beginning, he also learned that his father was not only a successful reporter; but he in fact, was the most famous person on the planet. He was Superman and he possessed amazing abilities. He could fly and run faster than a speeding bullet! He was more powerful than a speeding locomotive and could leap tall buildings with a single bound. His father was the person he looked up to most in this world. The man he wanted to be like.

As he sat speechless on the couch, pondering all that he heard. He remembered hearing a news reporter say, that Superman had powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men! He could change the course of mighty rivers and bend steel in his bare hands. He had seen his father catch and fly off with a busload of school children, taking them to safety after it crashed through a protective barrier on an icy bridge. He thought, how cool that was and how much fun it would be to be like him and have all those powers and abilities. Young Clark thought of all the times he watched news clips of his father rescuing someone with his mighty powers and wishing he could be like him. How strange to find out was Superman’s son and that he was just like him and was beginning to develop those powers and abilities.

Martha and Lana were happy to see that he was beginning to calm down and relax.

“Remember Clark, it’s so very important, that you tell no one about your powers and abilities. You see, your father fights for what’s good in this world and because of that he has many enemies, who wouldn’t think twice of hurting your mother or grandmother to get back at him.”

“Grandson, when your father was young we were afraid that they would take him away from us and experiment on him, if they ever found out about his great powers and abilities. In fact we had to work hard to convince him to not show off his abilities, but as he grew older he saw the wisdom of our choice. Your grandfather was a very wise man and your father respected his decisions.”

“Tell me about my father, I mean the Superman side.”
“Well,” Martha began, “He is from a distant planet that no longer exist, a place Called Krypton.”

More to come soon.

Where Are You Christmas
Chapter 14

What Do You Mean From Krypton

Back at The Kent Farm

“What do you mean the Planet Krypton,” young Clark asked, with a confused look on his face. “Your’re joking, right? My dad isn’t from outer space…He’s not an alien is he? Not like those kids on the show Roswell?”

“It’s not a joke son,” Lana replied. “Your father was born on The Planet Krypton, almost thirty three years ago. Krypton was in a different solar system. It had a red sun instead of a yellow one, like we have. Your father’s, father, realized that their planet was going to explode and built a spaceship to carry your dad to Earth, so that he would live and not perish in the explosion.”

“His ship landed, during Smallville's first meteor shower, son.

"Yes Clark," Martha added, we found your father in a field and brought he and the ship here. We adopted your father and hid the ship, in storm cellar we had built on the farm, years before,” Martha said.

“A spaceship grandma, can I see it, please? Wow, a real spaceship…I just have to see it,” he said with the biggest smile on his face.

“Well, Clark, I wish I could show it to you, but your father, worried about being forced into a destiny, not of his own choosing, destroyed , the ship, when he was sixteen years old . I think he regrets doing that, although he’s never come right out and said it.”

“A spaceship, The Planet Krypton, does that mean that I am half alien, mom?”

No son, neither you nor your father are aliens. He is as human, as anyone else on Earth. But, he is really from Krypton. When your father was your age, he didn’t know he was from another world. His earthly father told him when he was in High School. You see your father, began to wonder why he was so different than anyone else, he couldn’t be hurt. Once,he was hit by Lex Luther’s Porsche, which was traveling at ninety miles an hour and he sustained no injury. Instead of having to be flown to a hospital trauma unit for care, he was able to rescue Lex and swim with him safely to shore. Another time, he was feeding logs into our wood chipper and his arm was pulled into it, the chipper was totally destroyed, but you father wasn’t injured. After that, Clark asked Jonathan, why he could not be hurt?Jonathan felt that it was time to tell him everything. Needless, your father was stunned as much as you were today, when you learned about your abilities. He almost fainted, when he saw the ship.”

“Clark, when your father finally learned, how we found him, he had a difficult time accepting it. He even ran away to Metropolis for few months. Jonathan had to make a deal with your biological grandfather to receive powers, like your father has, in order to bring him back home, but that is a story for another time. Probably one your father can tell you sometime. At any rate, your father developed his powers the same way you are, one by one. From time to time, he would sit your grandfather and me down and explain or show us his newest ability. Jonathan and I couldn’t believe the things he could do. So don’t be alarmed, it looks like you are going to be exactly like him,” Martha exclaimed!

“Exactly like my dad! My dad is so cool! Wow, just think about it, my dad is Superman! Mom, please tell me, why didn’t you let me know me this before?”

“Well son, first of all, you were too young to understand the importance of keeping this a secret from all others and secondly, because, it was too hard for me to tell you anything about your father, without breaking down and crying. Well, do you understand what we've tried to explain to you this afternoon Clark?”

“Yes mom and grandma, I think I understand. Now when can I meet dad,” he asked?

“Tomorrow we are going to take you to Metropolis and introduce you to your father. He is going to be very surprised, Martha said with a big smile on her face. He will be as amazed, as I was earlier today, when I found out about you. Now let’s saddle up the horses and go for a ride.”

The trio went riding. They visited several of Lana’s favorite places. She told Clark a stories, about they the experiences they had encountered at every place together and how these experiences, caused them to become closer. Eventually, they both became aware, that they were meant for each other.

Young Clark listened very intently, trying his best to picture his mom and dad in each one of the situations his mother and grandmother shared, with him. By the time they returned to the corral, he had a better understanding of both his parents and some of the obstacles they had to overcome.

It was quite a bit for such a young one to understand, but young Clark was a very exception lad and why not, he was the child of two very exceptional parents and was obvious, that he inherited some of his mother’s riding abilities. Martha and Lana were amazed, at how well he handled his horse. He was a natural.

After they unsaddled the horses and rubbed them down, they went inside to get something cool to drink. As they were sitting at the kitchen table, Clark looked over at the windowsill and spotted a pie that his grandmother made yesterday, but this one was an apple pie.

“Grandma,” Clark asked, “Can I have a piece of that pie, it smells so good?”

“Of course you can Clark, I’ll get you a piece, let me know if you like it and I’ll bake you one to take with you, when you head back to California. Would you like that,” she asked?

“Can’t we stay here mom, It’s really nice having relatives.”

“Do you really mean that Clark,” Lana asked?
“I do mom, I really like having a grandma and I want to be where my daddy is. I like it here. Can we stay mom, please?”

Well that all depends on how things go tomorrow. We don’t know how your father is going to react when he sees us, well, when he sees me. I know he is going to love meeting you! Son. If he wants me in his life we can stay, but we have to see, if he wants me around. He left me, eleven years ago.”

Tears were starting to form in her eyes as she said this.

“But that was a long time ago and under different circumstances, Lana, Clark surely has reconciled those feelings. I am sure he wants to see you as much as you want to see him! Just relax and let true love work its magic!”

“Are you sure about that mom, I just don’t know what I’ll do if he’s found another or doesn’t want me,” Lana looked genuinely worried as she said this.

Don’t worry Lana, I know my boy and he will be absolutely ecstatic when he sees you. He will also be overjoyed to meet little Clark, I can guarantee that! Now, what did you think of that piece of pie I gave you Clark?”

The piece of pie, she had given him was gone and young Clark wanted more. As Martha put another piece on his plate, she chuckled and ran her hand through the dark curls of his hair. Smiling she said to him, “You are exactly like your father; looks, personality and your love for my apple pie.”

“It so good grandma,” Clark said. Can I have another piece, after I finish eating this,” he asked?

“Absolutely not young man,” his mother answered for his grandmother. ‘If you have another piece of pie, you’ll spoil your supper and well better be going back to Aunt Nell’s. We have taken up enough of Senator Kent’s time. So, thank your grandmother for the fun afternoon you have had and let’s get going.”

“Ah mom can we stay for supper here, I am sure Aunt Nell won’t mind, please mom, please,” he asked?

‘Well son, that all depends on Mrs. Kent, you better ask her if it’s alright, cooking for a super-powered, growing boy, is no simple task.”

“Please stay, Martha asked. I would love to have you stay. I would enjoy it immensely,” she said with a huge smile on her face. ‘But Lana, you have to promise not to call me Mrs. Kent or Senator again. To you I am mom, okay. You are my adopted daughter, remember.”

“Okay, Mom, you win. No more formalities,” Lana said getting up to hug Martha. “Okay mom, okay.”

Grinning from ear to ear Clark thought he would ask one more thing. He was learning very quickly, that mothers had a difficult time saying no to grandmothers and he was going to use this new found knowledge, as much as he could. “Grandma, could we spend the night? I want to sleep in dad’s old bed. Just the way he did. Can I, can I, it would be so cool, please grandma, please.”

“Yes Clark, I think it would be nice to have you and your mom spend the night, tonight. This house which was the hub of so much activity years ago has been quiet for too long and it would be great to have you stay over,” Martha replied.

I was going to comment about Lana calling Martha mom then Senator then Mrs. Kent... and say why go from familiar to formal...

but you turn it back right after ;)

Now... Some parts of this was kinda hard to read (grammar and syntax problems) but not too hard...

That was good!!

lol Clark jr. started to figure out how to manipulate both women...

Just a thought... even if they stay in Kansas... where would they live? I mean Martha is returning to DC after the holidays... Clark lives in Metropolis and Nell in Smallville...

anyway...

can't wait for tomorrow and the trip to Metropolis... (as well as the meeting)

I love how Clark jr has figured out how to get what he wants from his mum and grandma.

he also took the whole half alien thing really well but I suppose being superman’s son takes he edge off it and just makes it exciting for him.

Anyway great update!!

Before you read this update, I want you all to know that this has been a rough couple of days. My favorite dog is dying of Sepsis, Renal Failure and congestive Heart failure. Like I said it’s been rough.

Where Are You Christmas
Chapter 15
Fire Engines on Pajamas
It feels so good Martha thought, to be cooking for someone beside herself. She was so happy, that Clark asked if they could stay overnight.

She watched the young man out of the corner of her eye and to her amazement found that he did everything like his father. In fact he was so much like his father that she found herself thinking of him as her Clark and she half expected to see Jonathan walk in at anytime.

Dinner was simple, but good; fried chicken, real mashed potatoes ( not the kind that comes out of a box), corn on the cob, homemade biscuits, and for desert, strawberry shortcake!

Young Clark was in heaven, his mother was a great cook, but as good a cook as she was, she couldn’t hold a candle to Martha, no one could. Years ago, someone jokingly suggested that she go up against, The Iron Chef, but Martha had no time for things like that. Beside when you’ve raised Superman, there are not too many things that can equal that thrill, not even beating The Iron Chef, could compare.

After supper, Clark went in to watch the T.V. while Lana and Martha cleared the table and did the dishes. Clark was sitting there watching, ‘The Hulk’ and was thoroughly enjoying it. Then a thought popped into his head and he asked his grandmother, if his dad was as strong as the Hulk. Without one second of hesitation, she answered, that Clark Sr. was much stronger than the Hulk. The young boy responded with a, “Yeah!”
Lana had called Nell earlier in the evening, to see if it was all right with her if they stayed at The Kent Farm overnight. With a sigh of relief, Nell exclaimed, “That one of Dean’s nieces had a pipe break and was having problems removing the water from her basement. Dean was going to help out with the repair and clean-up. Nell was going to help with watching her three children. They were leaving right away to Metropolis and she told Lana that they were not expecting to be back until tomorrow night.” Then Nell said, “What rotten luck and just before Christmas.” She was hoping that Dean’s niece didn’t have any presents hidden in the basement. Before hanging up, Nell told Lana that the spare key was where they always put it, so she and Clark Jr. could get in.

Eight-thirty came quickly and Lana announced to Clark that it was time for him, to get ready for bed. But as he was getting ready to turn off the T.V. a news bulletin flashed across the screen. Apparently a gang of crooks using some special type of exoskeleton covering, that gave them incredible strength, were robbing banks in the Metropolis area. A film clip of Superman stopping several of them was shown.

Clark JR. cheered, he was so happy. He smiled and said to Lana, “That’s my dad. Look at him go.” Then with a serious look on his face, he asked Lana, “Mom, do you think I will be able to fly someday?”

“Of course you will son, you are exactly like your father! He flies, someday you will too. But your daddy wouldn’t fly for a long time, you see he was afraid of heights.”
“I know you’re kidding mom, Superman afraid of heights. Dad’s not afraid of anything!”

“Maybe not now Clark, but there was a time when, he had a fear of heights. You see he really was a lot like you, she chuckled.”
“So do you think, I will ever get over my fear of heights, mom?”
“I know you will son. You will be a Superhero, just like your father! Now before you go to bed, there is a small chore I need your help with.”

“What chore mom? Do I have to feed the cows or horses?”

“No son, it’s something much easier for you to do. I want you to go with me to the barn and I will show you where, I want you to move that heavy piece of equipment that almost hit me today. Then it’s off to bed.”
After young Clark moved that five hundred pound piece of heavy equipment, he smiled and said, “Did you see that mom, I am stronger than The Hulk, just like my dad.”

“Maybe not yet, but you will be soon and you and your father will be the world’s strongest Superhero’s! What a team you’ll make. Now off to bed. You can sleep in your underwear tonight.”

He was about to super-speed upstairs to get into bed, when he was stopped by his grandmother, who said, “Just a minute young man. I have some pajamas for you. They once belonged to your father and I thought you would enjoy wearing them.

At first he thought the fire engines on the pajamas were pretty lame, but then Martha said, “These were your father’s favorite!”
After hearing that, he super-sped upstairs, put them on and super-sped back, so his mother and Martha could see them.

“Lana looked, clapped and said very nice son, I like the way they look on you! Doesn’t he look good Martha?”
“They are nice Lana, Clark, you look super in them.”
“Super grandma,” he replied, “Now that’s funny. Ha-Ha.”
‘Okay,” Lana said with a smile, “Up to bed.”
They marched him upstairs and he climbed into Clark SR. bed. Martha entered the room with a book and asked if he wanted to hear his father’s favorite bedtime story. “Now, you aren’t too old for bedtime stories are you Clark?”

Shaking his head in an answer to her question, he replied, “No grandma!”
Okay, Martha said, “He we go. She sat on the edge of the bed and read, “The Velveteen Rabbit to him. He loved it and had her read it over again.”
While it was being read to him, he thought of how cool it was to be sleeping in his father’s room , wearing his old pajamas and in his dad’s bed.

Before she could read the story through a second time, she noticed that he had fallen fast asleep. “Look at him Lana, Martha said. Doesn’t he look just like someone we know?”
“He really does,” answered Lana. “He looks exactly like Clark Sr.”
Martha stood and gave Lana a hug. “Thank you my dear, for making an old woman’s holiday special. First of all, just you being here is enough to make me happy, but seeing this little fellow, has caused this holiday to have an extra special touch and has placed joy in my heart. A joy I haven’t felt since I lost my Jonathan. Thank you my dear! Thank you!”

Martha and Lana went downstairs to catch up on what has happened in each other’s lives since they last met. Both women had a lot to share, with each other. Lana made some herbal tea and they drank tea and talked until two thirty. Martha said, we better get some sleep my dear you have a big day tomorrow. Now remember what I said, don’t worry, he will be very happy to see you, I promise.

Somewhere In Metropolis
After finishing his flight over the city, Clark touched down on the rooftop of his apartment complex. Instead of going directly to his apartment and changing into his Clark Kent clothing, he sat on the edge of the roof, staring off into the night and wondering what it would have been like, if he hadn’t been so impulsive that night. What would have happened to them, if he hadn’t left her so many years ago, would they have married, had children (If that was even possible considering, he was from another planet).

He also wondered, if he married her, would they still be together. Finally he looked up into the sky at a brand new star. One he had not seen before. He found himself thinking, of an old nursery rhyme, that his mother used to read to him when he was a child:
Star light, star bright,
The first star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have the wish I wish tonight.

Looking intently at the star, he said in a sad and low voice, almost as if he was afraid to ask. I have a wish; please bring Lana back to me. She is all I have ever wanted. I made many foolish mistakes when I was younger and I hope someday to be able to correct some of them, beginning with my relationship with Lana. I want to hold her in my arms again, look into her eyes and tell how much I love her. I want her to see just how much I care. Just give me a chance, please.

As Clark/Superman finished saying this, tears began to fall from his eyes. He thought I am Superman and could have my pick of a number of beautiful women worldwide, but there is only one that I am interested in and that is Lana. Where are you Lana, how do I find you. I miss you so badly. Sometimes, I don’t know how I am going to be able to go on without you. Please dear, please come back to Smallville.

Sweetheart we need to talk. Then he remembered the song she would sing each year at Christmas time, especially if they were not getting along. [i][color=blue]How did it go, he thought? Oh yes I remember:

"Where are you Christmas
Why can't I find you
Why have you gone away
Where is the laughter
You used to bring me
Why can't I hear music play

My world is changing
I'm rearranging
Does that mean Christmas changes too

Where are you Christmas
Do you remember
The one you used to know
I'm not the same one
See what the time's done
Is that why you have let me go

Christmas is here
Everywhere, oh
Christmas is here
If you care, oh

If there is love in your heart and your mind
You will feel like Christmas all the time

I feel you Christmas
I know I've found you
You never fade away
The joy of Christmas
Stays here in silence
Fills each and every heart with love

Where are you Christmas
Fills your heart with love."

Clark found himself singing the song Lana used to sing and he sang it twice. When he finished singing he rose to his feet, wiped the tears from his eyes and looked up again, at that new star. Father Christmas, Lana had a lot of faith in you.

I remember her saying, that if we believed in you, you would accomplish miracles for us. Well, it’s time for me to start believing. Father Christmas, I am Superman. I can perform amazing feats of strength, I can fly, have X-ray vision, heat vision, have super-speed and I can do so many other things, but in spite of all that I can do, I can’t cause the thing I want most in this world to happen.

Father Christmas, I can’t find her. I can’t bring her home to tell her I love her. Please help me. Thank you.
Superman went to his apartment to change back into Clark Kent, tears still running down his face. But even his super-hearing didn’t pick up the softly spoken words of a man who was also on that rooftop. This man had the most wonderful, white beard, anyone had ever seen.

“Clark, I know you can’t hear me, but all has been set into motion. You will all have your wishes. You, Lana, Little Clark and Martha, will all get what you are wishing for this year. Just wait and see. The bearded man said this and then, climbed into a sled and yes there were nine reindeer. Within minutes they were clear out of sight.

I know it’s not Christmas anymore. Even Christmas in July is over. I had fully intended to have this story finished by no later than the second week in January. Then my profession took over and crowded everything else out of my life, even one of my greatest pleasures…Writing. I was going to drop this story and let it go to the graveyard, but I did promise several people that I would finish it and I will.

Where Are You Christmas
Chapter 16
Metropolis

Neither woman slept that night. Martha was too overjoyed! This had been an incredible day for her; seeing Lana again, was reason enough to be happy, but finding out that she was a grandmother, added to her excitement! Clark Sr. had always wondered whether or not he could have children? Now, that question had been answered and the answer was in the form of a little boy, who not only looked like his father, but had his personality and mannerisms as well, even though he had never met him. Yes, he was so much like his dad, he even had some of his abilities. Oh, if only Jonathan could have been here. His heart would be so full of joy, seeing his grandson. He too had hoped that one day Clark would have children and it had happened!

Sitting on the edge of her bed, Martha had tears in her eyes. They flowed down her face as she looked up and said, “I saw him today Jonathan, your grandson. His name is Clark Jr. and he is just like his father, fear of heights and all. I only wish you could have been here to see him. He is just as handsome as his dad; he has those deep blue-green eyes, that million dollar smile and a sweet, loving, spirit. You would just love him!”

“No, Clark doesn’t know about him yet, we are all going to see him in Metropolis tomorrow. Pray that all goes well, my love. When they parted eleven years ago, Lana and Clark were not on the best of terms. In fact Clark left in a hurry, because he didn’t like seeing the changes he noticed in Lana. I just hope that they resolve their differences.

Then she stood up and walked over to her cedar chest. It was full of old pictures she had stored there. She was especially interested in the ones of Jonathan and Clark together. As she went through them, one by one, she could see how much Clark enjoyed doing things with his earthly father. No matter what they were working on, Clark always had an ear to ear grin on his face. He really loved spending time with him. You see Jonathan was Clark’s hero. As she looked through the old pictures, Martha realized all over again how important it was for each child to have a good father figure in his life. She understood that Clark Jr. needed his father. You see, Clark/Superman was his hero. As she finished looking at the photos, she began to pray that all would be fine in Metropolis.

Lana was in the guest room. She was worried about how things would work out. She hoped that she and Clark could spend some time together so they could talk and get to know each other a little better. Lana remembered that Clark Sr. wasn’t too pleased with the way she had changed. The question that ran through her mind was would he approve of the changes he would see now? She wanted to get the meeting over with, so she would know what Clark Sr. reaction to seeing her again, would be and also see how he would respond to the news about his son? She hoped that he hadn’t moved on? She realized that she wouldn’t be able to take it, if he was with another woman. It wouldn’t be hard for him to find another. He was after all a very handsome man and he would have no problem attracting any woman. Yes Clark Kent had so much to offer any woman!

Looking around the room she recalled the times they spent there together. Oh how she missed him! Lana loved everything about flannel boy, as Chloe used to call him. His smile, the way he laughed, his corny way of trying to hide his true identity from her. He was truly, one in a million and he had been hers. Then she began to feel very sad as she realized how foolish she had been eleven years earlier, by being so smug with him. She lost him, the only man she had ever really loved.

If she could only reverse time, but that wasn’t possible, all she could do was to wait until morning, talk to him and hope that she hadn’t lost the love of her life, forever. She knew that she wouldn’t be able to sleep. So she turned onto her side, looked at a picture of her Clark and hoped for the best. She loved looking at him, those curly locks of black hair, his blue eyes and that smile which always put you at ease and would tell you, that everything was going to be all right. She hoped those eyes would tell her that tomorrow.

Lana closed her eyes, but never got to sleep. There was too much to think about. When she finally was about to drift off, a rooster began to crow. Soon, it would be time to go to Metropolis.
Martha was already stirring. She put on a robe, washed up and went downstairs to begin preparing breakfast. Getting up and putting a robe on, Lana went down to the kitchen. She asked the older woman if she needed any help. Martha replied no, but then she could tell by the look in the young woman’s eyes, that she was frightened and worried.

Putting her arms around Lana, she said softly, “Don’t worry my dear, it’s going to be alright, you’ll see. I know my boy and he is going to be so happy to see you. Now, why don’t you hand me some eggs.”
Martha had a way of putting her at ease and very soon they were singing together, laughing about things that happened to Clark and Lana so long ago. Somewhere around seven Lana went upstairs to wake up little Clark. It gave her a funny feeling to walk into Clark Sr. room. There were so many memories. She smiled believing that all would be resolved later that day. “Clark,” she said, “Wake up sleepy-head. It’s time to wash up, eat breakfast and go and meet daddy!”

Her son, like his father, was difficult to wake up each morning, but on this particular day it wasn’t difficult, in fact to her surprise, little Clark bounded out of bed and hugged her. As he did this he asked if they were leaving for Metropolis soon. She smiled at her excited son and replied, “Yes!” He was so excited that he super-sped into the bathroom, washed up, brushed his teeth and combed his hair in seconds. Zooming back to where his mother was standing, she looked at her little boy and with a smile on her face said, “Now aren’t we the little energetic one, you’re happy about going to meet dad. So let’s go eat and I will get dressed and we will get started on our way to Metropolis.”

Where are You Christmas
Chapter 16(continued)

They went down stairs into the kitchen and had a wonderful breakfast of: eggs, bacon, hotcakes, grits and biscuits with gravy.” Clark,” Martha said, “Passing the hotcakes to Lana, this is what we call a country breakfast! I hope you like it. Meals like this are what made your daddy strong!”

“I really like this grandma,” he said, “This is so good I wish I could have a breakfast like this every day.”
Lana smiled at the little guy and said to him, “If you are going to eat like this you have to work hard to burn off calories, or you could get fat.”

“Well, then I will work hard,” he said, showing the women his arm muscles, especially his biceps.

After breakfast, Clark went outside to walk around the farm and explore. Lana went upstairs to shower and get dressed. She tried to help Martha with cleaning up, but she wouldn’t have it. Lana was a guest. Company didn’t get to do clean-up duty. Martha also went to shower and dress after cleaning up.

Soon they were in the car and Martha was taking them to Metropolis. She noticed Lana’s tense lip. She placed her hand on Lana’s and said, “Don’t worry; it’s going to be fine.”
“I know mom she replied,” it’s just that…“Well I was so foolish, driving him off. Look at all the time, we have missed being with each other and the time he hasn’t been with little Clark, she said with a sad smile on her face. ”

She didn’t have time to be sad the rest of the trip to Metropolis, because little Clark kept her busy. He must have asked her a million questions. He saw so many interesting things on the way.

Soon they had parked and were at The Daily Planet. Clark looked at the large building and asked, “Daddy works here…Wow!”
“Come on grandson,” Martha said, “Let’s go meet your father!”

Taking Lana and little Clark by the hand, Martha led them to the directory. “Let’s see,” she said, “Clark Kent, eighteenth floor.” They got on the next elevator and were on their way to the eighteenth floor. Little Clark had to be the one to push the elevator button. Martha and Clark were excited…Lana remained worried. She had a premonition that something wasn’t going to go right.
Meanwhile, up on the eighteenth floor the girls were convincing Clark to go with them on a coffee break. “

Hey guy’s” he said, I can’t go now I am trying to meet a 2 PM deadline. I don’t…”

“Ah, come on Smallville, chill out, you can spare ten minutes for a coffee break,” Lois replied.

“She’s right,” Chloe chimed in. “You can spare ten minutes. Look at how tense you are…Unwind a bit, okay.”

They were standing by an elevator, waiting for the car to unload, when suddenly another door opened across the hall. Lois looked over to see who was on that car. She nearly passed out when she saw who was on it…Lana. How dare her come back after all these years. Well I am not losing CK to her again.

She quickly took a step over to Clark, turned his head to her and kissed him on the lips. After the kiss, she smiled at Clark and said, “There is more awaiting you tomorrow night. I hope you are excited about tomorrow, my love. it's going to be a great party.”

Then she put her arms around him again and kissed him again. Clark not wanting to embarrass Lois didn’t pull away. He thought, this is completely unacceptable, no real harm done, but we will have to talk about this later.

No harm done…The damage report was going to be extensive. Lana held Martha and little Clark’s hand very tightly. So tightly that she could have drawn blood. She quickly pressed the close button on their elevator car and then hit the lobby button.

She realized that she had been very foolish thinking he would wait for her. He had moved on and with Lois, that was obvious enough. Well, it was time for her and little Clark to go back to California. It was also time for Lana to move on. She would write Clark Sr. from California and let him know about his son. He could visit, have him on weekends, but she understood that it was time to get on with life. Father Christmas she thought, Thanks anyway.

As the elevator door closed, Lois thought, he’s mine now all mine! Chloe smiled at Lois’ success.

More coming.

Where Are You Christmas

Chapter 17
Stop Looking to the Past

“Lana, what’s wrong, why are we leaving,” Martha asked?

“This was a big mistake mom, I have to leave. Who am I kidding? He obviously didn’t wait for me to return. What a fool I have been, hoping that after all these years, that we could work things out, possibly pick up the pieces and renew our relationship. He’s moved on. Clark is with Lois now and I don’t blame him. It’s been at least ten years, what was I thinking! I must have been out of my mind?”

Then turning to young boy whose hand she was holding, she said, “Son please forgive me, mommy just couldn’t go through with it. I am so sorry. I know I promised that you could meet your father today, but whatever I thought could happen between him and I, just isn’t possible. It has been too long a time since we were last together and let’s face it, some problems just can’t be fixed. But don’t worry, when we get back to California, I will send your father a letter, with your picture in it and I’ll let him know about you. I am sure once he knows that he has a son, he will want to see you and get to know you. I wanted him to be in our lives all the time, but I guess you will have to settle for a part time dad.”

The young boy looked at his mother confused and said, “Mommy, why can’t we see daddy now? He’s right upstairs, I saw him being kissed by that lady, with the reddish blond hair. Why was he kissing her? Doesn’t he love you anymore mommy?”

“Clark, this is adult stuff and it’s very complicated. You see, it has been such a very long time since we have seen each other and we parted on such bad terms, that I don’t blame your father for finding someone else. But as much as I want you to meet him, I can’t see him now,” she said with tears running down her face. “I’m sorry son, I’m so sorry, if I only hadn’t driven him away so many years ago. We would be a family.”

Martha remained silent, she had seen what stopped the younger woman from going over to see Clark, but she saw something that Lana didn’t see. Clark stiffened up as Lois was kissing him. He wasn’t a willing participant in that kiss at all. In fact, if she could still read her son’s body language, after all these years, he in his typically nice manner resisted the kiss, without embarrassing Lois. Somehow, she had to get Lana to understand, that Clark was not a willing participant in that outrageous display that she put on. Lana had to be told that Lois was trying to steal her man. They would have to have a long talk later, but not in front of young Clark. He was confused enough right now.

Once they were off of the elevator, they made a bee-line to the car. Martha turned to her and asked, “Are you sure that you want to leave, my dear?”

“Please go Martha, it’s time to leave, there is nothing here for me anymore and it’s time to go back home.”

“Lana,” Martha said, “I think you got the wrong idea about what you saw up there. Things are not always what they appear to be. What if Clark isn’t seeing Lois, suppose he had nothing to do with that kiss? If you leave, then you would miss this golden opportunity to have the two Clarks meet, not to mention missing the opportunity to unite your family.”

“Mom, I have been living in a fantasy world for the past ten or so years. Now that the blinders have been removed from my eyes and I see things clearly, I realize that it’s time to move on. After all, I have a son to raise and a very successful fashion business to run. It’s time to get my life moving in the right direction and I need to stop looking at the past!”

Then Lana bent over, picked up her young son and gave him a hug. “Son, I promise that I will make it all up to you. Mommy will find someone else and although, he won’t be you real father, he will be there and he will love you as much as I do, you will see.”

Martha was becoming more and more frustrated with every word Lana spoke. She realized that the young woman had completely misunderstood what happened in the Daily Planet building, but how was she going to convince Lana, that she was mistaken?

Emotions have a way of clouding the senses and rendering logical thought processes inactive, Martha thought as she drove back to Smallville. She watched as Lana cried for the first thirty minutes of their trip. After she had cried for a while, Lana picked up her cell phone and called the airport. While she was busy making reservation for an early return trip back to California, Martha tried to think of a way to get Clark back to the farm, without letting him know that she was there. Martha knew that they both still were so very much in love, but getting them together was going to be difficult, especially after what Lana had just seen.

Looking in the mirror, Martha could see the tears running down young Clark’s face. The young boy was crushed. He was so close to meeting his father and now that opportunity was gone. He realized that his mother had made up her mind and there was no way of changing it. So he remained quiet in the back seat, tears streaming down his face. Martha was going to have to have a talk with him as well. She felt so bad for the little guy.

Meanwhile back upstairs, Clark was gently separating himself from Lois. They would definitely be having a talk later. As he was thinking of a way to nicely tell her that he really wasn’t interested in her, his nose caught a whiff of a scent that he hadn’t smelled for more than ten years. Lana, he thought, but looking up quickly and a quick scan of the building failed to show any trace of the woman he loved.

Believe it or not more coming soon.

Nope, just 1 tree on the fence, which has been removed & the fence repaired. Also a large tree down in my parents' yard, but it missed the house and shed completely. Relatives near Houston were out of power for a while & also had fence damage. And my brother lost the entire fence across the back of his property - but no one had damage to homes this time, thank the Lord.

Where Are You Christmas

Chapter 18

It’s Time to Go

As soon as they arrived back at the farm, Lana marched Clark inside, The Kent Home and they began gathering their things. Lana was intent on going back as soon as possible. It was quite a scene. Clark was still crying and trying to understand, why he couldn’t meet his father, while Lana, with tears in her eyes kept saying that she just couldn’t see him now.

Martha tried to reason with her, but to say that Lana was completely inflexible on this issue was an understatement. She was a woman on a mission and the first thing on her agenda was to get out of Smallville as soon as possible.

When they had gathered their things together, Lana asked Martha if she could drop them off at Nell’s and also take them to the airport later that evening. They had an eleven-thirty flight out of Metropolis to California and Lana planned for her and little Clark to be on that flight. On the drive back to Nell’s, Martha tried to get past the hurt and emotional disappointment that was affecting the younger woman, but she just couldn’t get through to her.

The older woman helped the two people she loved the most in this world get ready to leave. As they were putting the luggage in the car, Martha promised Clark that she would put the models, boats, comics and everything else he liked into a great big box and send it to him, tomorrow. He smiled at his newly found grandmother and said thank you. Martha gave her young grandson a big hug and said, “I love you Clark and grandma is so very happy and fortunate to have met you after all these years!”

“I love you too grandma,” Clark replied and said. “You know as long as I could remember, I dreamed about my grandmother, I wondered what she would be like. Then I made up the perfect grandmother in my mind. She was such a wonderful lady, but she didn’t even come close to my real grandma, not close at all. Promise me that you won’t forget me grams. Please promise.”

“I will never forget you or your mother,” Martha said. “I love both of you so very, very, much and I wish you wouldn’t go, at least not yet anyway. Please Lana, don’t go, let me call Clark Sr. Please at least, talk to him.”

“Martha, I can’t,” Lana replied, tears beginning to flow down her face again. “Thanks for letting us stay and thank you for being so nice to little Clark.”

“Lana, Clark is my grandson and you are my family. I love both of you. You need to know that. Clark Sr. Loves you as well and will love young Clark as soon as he finds out about him. Please, let me call him, I know that he will be so thrilled to know you have returned and to learn that he has a son.”

“Maybe some other time Martha, but for now we better get going. Clark and I have a plane to catch.”

Then, they all got into Martha’s car and it was off to Metropolis Airport.

[Meanwhile in Metropolis]

“Chloe hurry,” Lois said. “The office party is going to begin in less than two hours. We are going to have to hurry if we are going to be there on time. Perry said they are going to have champagne. That’s wonderful, I love champagne. It makes me do funny things…Boy this could be Clark’s lucky night. He might even score. Now hurry, Chloe, we still have to pick up Clark on the way.”

Then Lois began to laugh. As she continued laughing, she said, “Did you see the look on Lana’s face this afternoon. I can happily say that I think we have seen the last of her in these parts and I for one am not going to miss her. Are you ready yet cuz, I want to get started on that champagne.”

“I am ready now Lois, let’s get going. We have one big, Boy Scout to pick up…Clark. Ready or not Clark, the cousins are coming to get you. Prepare yourself to have a good time and oh, you won’t be getting a merit badge for the behavior we are hoping to see from you tonight.”

A short time later, the girls had picked up Clark and were on their way to the party. Clark was still protesting and making it know that he really didn’t want to go. This was not his idea of having fun and he had other things he needed to do.

They reached the Hotel and were directed to the Grand Ballroom. Inside were all the dignitaries that come out for all the special events: The owners of The Daily Planet, Members of The Board of Directors, Perry White, The Mayor and so many others. Lois asked Clark to get her some champagne, when he returned he had one for both Lois and Chloe. “Thanks Smallville,” Lois said, “But where is your glass.”

“I’m not drinking anything alcoholic. I may have to drive you both home. Think of me as the designated driver.”

The party was pretty boring Perry White was introducing Clark to every dignitary present. Clark was polite and engaged them all in conversation, but sooner or later, Lois would interrupt and ask him to get her more champagne. Being the perfect gentleman, he would always excuse himself from whoever he was talking to and get her what she wanted. Perry was pleased to see Clark socializing. He knew that if one is to do well as a reporter, he had to know the right people and for Clark this was a great start.

Just as Clark was giving the cousins another glass, Perry ran over to him and pulled him over to a quiet corner of the room. “Clark,” he said with a worried look on his face. “There has been an explosion at The Luthorcorp plant in Smallville. Hundreds are still trapped in the building. I want you to go there and cover the rescue effort. Lois and Chloe are too drunk, so I am not mentioning this to them. You can use The Daily Planets helicopter to get there. I will call the pilot and authorize the trip.”

“That’s okay Mr. White,” he replied, “I have another way of getting there. I will get right on it, sir.”

Perry turned around to call Jimmy Olsen over, when he turned back to say something else to Clark, he noted that his top male reporter was nowhere in sight. Whoa, when he gets on a story he doesn’t waste any time, he thought. “Hey Olsen, get me a glass of champagne,” Perry asked.

“Right away chief,” Olsen replied.

Perry immediately said,” Don’t call me chief.” Taking the champagne he drank it in one gulp and said to the young photographer. “Go to The Planet, I am ordering the helicopter pilot to take you too Smallville. Kent is already on his way. There is a great story about an explosion at Luthorcorp plant and I want some pictures son. They better be good, do I make myself clear.”

“Yes sir,” was all that Olsen could say. He turned and ran to the parking garage to get his car and camera. He had to hurry, so he could meet the pilot and be on his way.

[Metropolis Airport]

Martha had just finished helping Lana get the last suitcase out of the trunk. There was a skycap walking nearby and Lana flagged him down. Clark tugged on his mother’s arm as he said, “We don’t need to use him, I can carry all the baggage easily, mom.”

“I know you can son, but if you did, people would know that Superman is you father and we can’t have that happening, now…Can we.”

“I see your point mother,” the young lad agreed.

They followed the skycap inside checked in and were again saying goodbye to Martha, when a News Bulletin was flashed across the TV monitors. It told of the Luthorcorp explosion. It talked about the people trapped inside.

The trio sat down, to watch the report. “Grandma, Clark asked, is that place near where you live?”

“It’s not far from where I live. Not far at all.”

[On the Hotel’s Rooftop]

Clark supersped to the roof of the building and took off his everyday attire as he did. Once he was on the roof, he jumped into the air and flew as fast as he could to Smallville. A short time later he could see the building and the initial attempt at rescuing those who were trapped. Knowing that their efforts would be futile, he flew into the building. A local news crew was filming live from the scene and was lucky enough to get his flight into the building on film and fed it to the live broadcast.

As they were watching, Martha gasped and said, “Oh no!”

“What is it Martha,” Lana asked? “What’s wrong?”

“Clark just flew into the building. It’s full of meteor rock. He doesn’t know that, but Lionel shared that with me a few years ago. They are stockpiled there so Lex’s scientist will have plenty to use in their Level 33 experiments. Oh my God, he will be killed. They are his only weakness.” When she finished saying that she began to weep.

More coming soon.

Ok... Joe... You are seriously close to lose me as a reader... for many different reasons...

Your writing is good... but as I said before... you are really trying too much to draw the story...

and well... your characters are a bit on the stupid side... and whimpy...

Most of all Clark... for Pete's sake he is freakin Superman... if he doesn't want to do something heck he wont do it... let the twins screw themselves and let him do as he pleases at the party...

and Martha should have called her son no matter what Lana says... the guy has a right to learn about them being there...

and that last part about the luthorcorp... not that brilliant... I mean Lionel told Martha? WTH? Evil tries to keep their wrong-doing hidden... and telling a state senator isn't the brightest move...

Anyway...

FIX THIS SOON!!!!

yeah ok sorry... it might have been a bit harsh...

but my main problem is I know you Joe as a writer... and I see all the potential you have in this story and it kills me to see all that is unwritten...

please don't stop on my account... because I know you are a good writer... Maybe the problem is that the story was supposed to be done last christmas... or maybe it is because real life stopped you from writing for a long time and that is why (like steph said) the end seems to be taking a long time coming...

and well there is my general gag reflex towards anything Lois or Chloe lately...

and it was 3am when i wrote that so i was half asleep already...

so I do apologize for being that harsh... but even being gentlemanly... Clark needs to put his feet down... he isnt their slave...

anyway... I hope you take the time it takes to write it fully... don't rush things on my account... I gave my explanations...

This is your story so you decide what you do in and with it...

now... Lana will be worried about the news of Supes entering the plant... and I guess a little distressed to the fact that she might have just wasted her son's chance to meet his father...

I am curious to see what will happen next as well... Will they stay at the airport or will they race back to Smallville...

Where Are You Christmas
Chapter 19
Superman in Trouble

It didn’t take him long get to Smallville. He could fly very fast when he needed to and there were many lives to save tonight. Luthorcorp was a place where many dangerous experiments were performed. This location always housed so many hazardous substances. All of the people who were trapped in the plant, would have to be evacuated quickly. This was a job that only Superman could handle.

As he was on his way to Smallville, Clark remembered Earl Jenkins, the janitor who had worked six seasons for the for the Kent’s. One day he left the Kent farm and went to work at Luthorcorp’s Level 3 facility. He had been there only a short time, when something terrible happened to him. He was cleaning the level 3 area, when an explosion occurred. The force of the explosion caused pieces of meteor rocks to penetrate his skin. Shortly after the accident, Earl began to shake uncontrollably. Because of this he lost his job, had to leave his family and eventually in order to let people know how dangerous this facility was took a group of school kids visiting the plant hostage, in order to get the attention of the press. Luthor promised to get him the best care possible, but no one ever heard of him again. It was called 'Project Jitters,' by the news media.

When he remembered what happened to Earl at this plant he flew even faster. Clark vowed, not to let the toxic substances in the plant, ruin anyone else’s life. Once he arrived, he, flew through the plant listening for cries of help. His super hearing allowed Clark to easily find groups of people who were trapped. He released them and swiftly flew them to safety and went back for more.

After fifteen to twenty trips, scores of individuals that would have died were now safe. As he was about to relax and work on putting out the fire, more voices were heard inside the plant. Jumping in the air, he flew back inside to the area where the voices originated. There, he found them, a group of people were trapped behind a containment door that sealed the minute the plant exploded. Several voices were heard behind that door, but he couldn’t see them, because it was lead lined.

With his incredible strength, he pulled the door open…As he did, fifteen people scrambled to safety. Superman told them to get out as soon as possible and went into the room to look for anyone else who might be trapped. Suddenly there was another explosion and debris was flying everywhere. Then he felt it, pain in his legs and on the lower part of his face. After that his legs began to weaken and give way. He tried to run out of the area, but he only fell on the floor, unable to get up.

There was something else; a warm liquid was running down his face. His hand went to his forehead, to touch and wipe off the liquid substance. After wiping it out of his eyes and off of his forehead, he looked to see what it was. Superman cringed …It was blood, his blood. Whatever hit him after the explosion, had injured him badly.

Looking down at his legs, he saw blood everywhere; it was running down both legs and onto the floor. He saw the reason for all the blood. Green Kryptonite splinters were embedded in both legs, his chest and he assumed, his face.

Well, it looks like this is the end of Superman’s brief, but illustrious career. Somewhat short-lived, but I enjoyed helping every person I saved and to me it was all worth everything I gave. I thought all the Kryptonite had been removed from this plant, but I guess Lex had a secret stash hidden here.

Unfortunately, the way I am beginning to feel, I don’t think I will last too much longer. With all the blood I am losing and the amount of meteor rocks covering me. It will be over quickly. My only regret is that I won’t get the chance to see Lana again. I really wanted the opportunity to tell her that I am sorry for running out on her and that I have never stopped loving her. I want her to somehow know wherever she is that I never stopped caring for her. I also regret not being able to have a child with her. Whoa Clark, don’t get carried away. I don’t know if that’s possible. I guess we will never know.

Oh my, I really getting weak and my vision is starting to grey out. Before I lose consciousness, I want to try something. It’s been said that when a Kryptonian, is going through something catastrophic, he can communicate with the one he loves. I’m not sure if it really happens, but I am going to try.

Well, here goes:Lana, if you still care for me, I hope you pick up on my feelings? Sweetheart, I am in trouble and dying, but before I do, I want you to know something. I am sorry for leaving the way I did. I didn’t know what else to do. We had drifted so far apart and all we did was fight. So I took the coward’s way out and I left. Please forgive me for doing that. I love you my dear…More than you will ever know! There hasn’t been a day go by that I haven’t thought of you.

I have looked for you my love, many times, but I was never able to find you. I had hoped that my appearance as Superman, would have prompted you to get in touch with me, but the way I left…I don’t blame you for not being interested in a reunion. Don’t worry about that my love. I was pretty upset when we parted and I don’t fault you, for not getting in touch.

I want you to remember always, that I love you and I have been hoping that, we could be together again. Tell my mom, that I love her too and I am sorry that I haven’t been down to see her. It’s just that going to the farm causes me to remember all the pain of losing you to come back, when I think of how things could have been. Oh, by the way, I am starting to hallucinate, from Kryptonite fever. I am seeing a gentleman in a Santa outfit, telling me it’s going to be alright. Well, goodbye my love.”

Then, weak from the radiation of the Kryptonite rocks and the broken pieces of meteor rock that had penetrated his body…Clark passed out. But after he did, his hallucination wiped blood off of his forehead and whispered, you’re going to be okay, Clark. You are going to be fine. Clark didn’t hear he was fading fast, he didn’t know that his hallucination remained there watching over him. Protecting him from any other dangers.

***Meanwhile Back at Metropolis Airport***

Martha, Lana and Clark stood looking at the television in wonder, scores of people had been saved by Superman, according to the live report that was coming across the screen, but then the reporter said something that made them shudder.

“There hasn't been anyone come out of the building in the last ten minutes and there appears to be no activity coming from inside of it. I do hope that Superman is alright. There are some very potent toxins inside that plant and although he has always seemed invulnerable so far, perhaps he has a weakness.

Martha looked at Lana and said, “Something has to be wrong, it’s not like him to stop like this. His next move would be to put out the fire. I have a bad feeling about this Lana.”

Lana didn’t respond. Martha looked at her and she appeared to be in trance. Her eyes were glazed over with a white colored membrane. The way Lionell looked after he touched that crystal, a few years ago. Then as quickly as the trance and glazed look appeared. They were gone.

The very next thing that Martha heard, was Lana screaming, “Nooooo!”

“Lana what is it?” Martha asked!
“No,” Lana screamed again! “You can’t die! I won’t let you die! You saved me over and over and it time that we save you!”
Martha and Clark Jr. looked at Lana, while Martha asked, “Who is dying?” But she knew the answer before Lana could answer.
“Clark is dying,” Lana answered with tears streaming down her face. “I just received a goodbye my love message from him. He’s about to pass out and he is even hallucinating.”

“There has to be something we can do,” She said, tears still streaming down her face. “Martha, I was not only able to hear his thoughts, but I could somehow see him, laying on the floor with multiple pieces of Kryptonite sticking into his body. He was also covered with Kryptonite and was bleeding very badly. We have to go to Smallville now...I’ve got to help him!”

“Lana we are in Metropolis. We would never get there in time it’s a two hour trip for anyone human,” Martha said, beginning to cry, as the realization of Clark’s dilemma was starting to sink in.

“Mom, Grandma, what about me…I can get there fast, I can help dad!” Little Clark said bravely.
“You could,” replied Martha, “but the meteor rocks would also affect you Clark.”

“Martha, maybe not, Clark Jr. is half human and he was born on Earth not Krypton. Maybe, just maybe, he won’t be affected by the meteor rocks!”Lana said, getting an idea.

“Martha, do you have any meteor rocks or know if there are any nearby?” She asked, with a look of determination on her face.
“Yes!” Martha replied. “Clark made us keep a piece of Kryptonite in the car in a lead box, just in case Zod or any other evil Kryptonian, ever attacked us. Clark, take my keys and open the trunk of my car. Then very carefully pick up the silver colored box, which is behind the spare tire. Be very careful, not to open the box and bring it in to me.”
Taking the key, Clark smiled at his grandmother and Lana and in a flash he was gone but then, with a whoosh he returned. “You are very fast Clark,” his grandmother said. But Lana said nothing, her face told what she was thinking and feeling. It revealed the mixed emotions: Fear, worry, pride and hope.
Clark handed the box over to his grandmother. Martha said “Grandson, your father is facing a serious danger. If he wasn’t I would never try something like this, but I realize that you are the only one who can save you father. I am going to open this box. If you feel any pain or begin to feel weak, let me know, I’ll close the box immediately.”
“I will grandma,” Clark replied, “Looking at Lana he smiled and then said, “Go ahead and open the box.”
Martha with fear and trembling, opened the box, half expecting to hear Clark Jr. scream or fall to the floor, but he did neither. After a few seconds, he reached over and picked up the meteor rock and held it in his hands. Both Lana and Martha jumped for joy. Then they formulated a rescue plan.

Sorry I have to end it hear…Too sleepy. I hope to have an update tomorrow. I hope you like it?

Yay! Clark, Jr. can save Clark! That's great that he is immune to the effects of Kryptonite. It was also amazing that Clark was able to communicate with Lana the way he did.

Where Are You Christmas
Chapter 20

Faster Than the Wind

It normally takes two hours to go from Metropolis to Smallville. That’s if you drive straight through and don’t make any stops and By most standards, that’s very good time.
But it’s too long, when your father, the man you never met is dying. Clark JR. found himself running toward the small town, where his parents grew up, at a speed he never thought was humanly possible. Only a handful of people could move that fast; Superman , Bart Allen(The Flash), Barry Allen (Bart’s uncle) John Jones (The Martian Manhunter) and now Clark Jr. himself. As he ran toward Smallville, the young boy thought, why should I be so surprised that I can do this. After all, I am Superman’s son! The single thought was enough to cause a huge grin to spread across his face. Then he reflected on the all the events of the past few days. As he did, he thought, out of all the fathers in this world. Who would have ever thought that mine would turn out to be Superman.

Young Clark was well aware that there was no time to waste! He was on a mission. After having received instructions from both Martha and his mother he was off, on his way to save his father. The man he began to admired from the first time he saw him, save a busload of school children from drowning in The Metropolis River several months ago. It seems like that event was so long ago, but it had been only a few months, since he saw the film footage on the evening news. Yes, not long ago this man, this Superman appeared in Metropolis, saving people from all types of danger. Every young boy he knew wanted to be like him, even young Clark!

He had to smile as he remembered dressing up like this mystery hero for Halloween. Now he knew why his mother was all smiles as she looked him over to see if everything looked all right. Then he had no idea that he was dressed up like his father. No wonder mom was so happy and full of life that night.

As he super sped toward his destination, Clark, chuckled as he thought about all the things he had learned since his arrival in Smallville. He shook his head as he remembered, how he responded, when his mother told him of her plans to return to the place where she grew up for a Christmas visit. He was very upset, but with respect told his mother, that he wasn’t at all interested in going to that place and begged her to allow him to stay in California, with a friend’s family while she went visiting. He saw no reason to go to a place that had no meaning to him.

He remembered his mother’s reaction to that statement as if it had happened only yesterday. Lana got up, walked over to the boy, lifted his chin up, so he could see her sweet motherly smile and said, “Son you never know what you might learn on a trip like this. I really want you to see some things there! You just might find yourself pleasantly surprised by what you could find out! It is possible you might enjoy it there.”
Being the good son that he was, he smiled up at his mother, the woman who had been there for him, every day and walked with him and every step of the way down the road of life. She had encouraged him almost daily not let the fact that his father wasn’t there in the house, to help raise him, hold him back or prevent him from being all he wanted to be. She taught him that although she wished it could have been different, it wasn't and it really didn’t matter. He had to know that nothing could stop him from being anything he wanted to be, father present in the home or not.

She also told him daily and made him give his word…Never to forget that he was her special child. She also promised him, that one day he would get to meet his father and then he would know just how exceptional he really was! She also reminded him often, that the reason his father wasn’t in the home was entirely her fault and not his.
The boy listened closely to her as she said all of that, but like most children his age would, Clark Jr. shrugged it off as being only, the chatter of a mother who was trying to get him to feel better about himself. He did remember his mother saying that one day he would understand who his father was and that he would eventually be exactly like, with the single exception of not possessing his only weakness.
Now within the brief span of a few months, he not only knew who his father was, but he was on his way to try and save him. Young Clark was running at Super-speed toward the town of Smallville, to save Superman. Yes, Superman, the hero, Clark JR. admired more than any other. Who turns out to be his father. The knowledge the young lad now possessed about his father, would have normally had him jumping for joy if it wasn’t for the mission he was on right now.

After the briefing he received from the two people who knew Clark the best, he knew what he had to do. He had to get to The Luthorcorp plant as fast as he possibly could, then super speed into the plant, so no one could see him. TAfter that, as quickly as he could he needed to get his dad out of that room, that was filled with Green Kryptonite and once he accomplished that…Remove as much of The Green K as he could from his father’s body. When he has finished all of that and his father began to regain consciousness. He was to speed off quickly, so that no one would see him. Not a bad plan, he chuckled as he sped to Smallville faster than any eye could follow.
I better be careful not to miss and turns or signs that I am to use to get to that plant. he thought. Whoops, I was running so fast, I almost missed that one. That’s where I am supposed to turn off. Luthorcorp is only five miles up that road. With a whoosh, he was at and then into the plant. Within a second he made his way into the room where his father was trapped.

Once he was inside, Young Clark saw something that surprised him. There on the floor, pale, motionless and covered with blood, was his father. Who was unconscious. That he expected to see, but what surprised him was the person leaning over his father, trying to help him. It was none other than Father Christmas himself and he was pulling pieces of green kryptonite out of Superman’s chest, arms and torso. He was also wiping as much blood as he could of off Superman’s face. “Father Christmas, is he going to be all right?”
Don’t worry Clark, when we have all done our part, he will be fine.
Clark Jr. immediately picked up his father, using his own Super strength and forced the door open that was blocking the way of his escape. Once he had done this, he gently laid his him down. Stepping back for a second, he took a good look at his dad for the first time. His mouth popped wide open as he began to see just how much he was like his father. as he stood there studying this man he realized just how much they were alike.

Father Christmas saw young Clark’s reaction and he chuckled, telling the young man. “It’s amazing, isn’t it? You two look so much alike that if he wasn’t your father, you could have been twins.”

Recovering from his initial shock, the young Kent began removing all the Kryptonite he could see from his father’s body. He then helped Father Christmas, clean the blood off of his father. He watched for a good five minutes, but his father showed no signs of recovery.

“Father Christmas, what’s wrong?”

“What I feared might happen, did occur. He has a lot of the Kryptonite deep within his body, from the force of the blast. We are going to…”

Before Father Christmas could finish an image appeared in the room. Clark Jr. found himself standing face to face with the image of Jor-El.

“Well done, young Clark, I am Jor-El. By earth terms, I would be Kal-El’s father and your grandfather. You father had high amounts of Kryptonite in his bloodstream and it is also deeply imbedded within the tissues of his body. He is going to have to be treated with a special device to remove these toxins immediately, if he is going to recover.”

“What is it I need to do grandfather?”

“I am going to give you directions to a place, a cave to be exact. Bring your father to that cave. I will tell you what to do once you get there.”
Once Clark was given directions to the cave…The image of Jor-El dissipated. The boy smiled at Father Christmas and said, “Wish me luck.”

“Good luck son,” Father Christmas said, “Run swiftly to the spot, get him to the place where Jor-El wants him to be. You Christmas wishes are all about to come true. I will be seeing you again in the next few days. “

After he said goodbye to Father Christmas, Clark used his Super strength to pick up his father, who remained unconscious. Then at a speed known only to a precious few, he took his father to the cave where Jor-El directed.

Where Are You Christmas
I Have to Save Him
Chapter 21

Clark Jr. ran as fast as he could to the Kawatche Caves. He was carrying his father, Superman and following the directions given to him by Jor-El. Wow, he thought, I’ve just met my grandfather, Jor-El. Grandma said that he was a famous scientist on The Planet Krypton, before it was destroyed. He was the one who discovered that Krypton had shifted on its axis. But when he presented his research findings to the Kryptonian High Council, they rejected them and warned him not to try and leave the planet. Jor-El was not only a leading scientist, but an honorable man, full of integrity. He promised the other members of The High Council that neither he nor his wife, Lara, would attempt to leave the planet and he would tell no one else of his findings. The gifted scientist kept his promise… But sent his only child to Earth in a tiny spaceship (Kal-El) and saved him from dying, when the planet exploded. Once he was on Earth, its yellow sun caused him to develop amazing abilities and powers. So many that he is known by everyone as Superman.
Yes, he is Superman, but he has a weakness and it might kill him if I don’t get him to Jor-El in time. Although we have never formally met, I love and admire him more than anyone else on this planet. I have wanted so much to be like Superman and now I not only find out that he is my father but, I have also learned that I am becoming more like him every day. I bet someday, I will even be able to fly…Won’t that be cool. Wow, that will be so awesome, but slow down Clark Jr. Right now I just want him to get well and someday get to say, “Hi dad,” and sit in his lap and ask him how his day was. Like a normal father and son would do.
Wow, he continued to think, this has been an amazing trip, I never imagined how exciting a small town could be and I had no Idea how amazing my family really is. I am so happy that mom made me come with her to Smallville. I wonder if there are any other surprises awaiting me here?
I am also glad that my super-strength developed or I wouldn’t be able to get dad out of Luthorcorp and to the cave. He is huge! He has to be at least six foot four inches tall and he has a more developed upper body than Johnny’s dad or anyone else’s dad that I know! John used to brag, that his father had a forty-two inch chest, so I’m guessing that dad has to have at least a forty-eight inch chest. One other thing I’m noticing there isn’t an ounce of fat on him. He is all muscle. Thank God for my super-strength or my dad would still be back at the plant.

When he reached the cave, the young boy, super-sped with his father, right past the guards and zoomed down into the cave to find the room where Jor-El told him to wait. Clark stood in the center, of the room, near a table that had a slit in it. Suddenly a metal octagon appeared floating in the air in front of the young man. Reaching out, he grabbed and held onto the disc. Once again, the image of Jor-El appeared directly in front of Clark Jr. The man in the image smiled at his grandson and said, “Well done, young man, you are just as amazing as your father, now hurry, there isn’t a second to lose. Your father isn’t doing well and we have to treat him for the Kryptonite poisoning quickly, or he isn’t going to make it. Take the disc that’s in your hand and put it in that slot on the table. You will be transported where I am, where we can help him. Don’t be surprised by the things you will see happen from this point on.”

Then the image dissipated and was gone. When the boy put the disk into its place, bright lights began to shine all over the cave. Clark was amazed by all the dazzling lights, but they stopped just as quickly as they began. Looking around, the young lad realized that he had reached his destination. Wow, he couldn’t believe his eyes! There all around him was the most beautiful ice structure he had ever seen. It was made entirely of ice crystals.

Then a voice rang through the cave and told Clark Jr. to take his father and put him in the chamber that was rising from the center of the Fortress floor. It was right in front of a crystal control panel.

The young boy did exactly as he was told. After he placed this giant of a man into the chamber, its lid closed on its own. Clark smiled as the image of Jor-El reappeared. With a smile Jor-el said to him, “Your father has a very severe case of Kryptonite poisoning, but thanks to you Clark, he is going to be fine. You have just saved Krypton’s greatest son and Earth’s greatest super hero! I am proud of you grandson, at the age of ten, you are already a hero! Your father will be very proud of you when he learns of you and hears what you have done.

The boy smiled, looked at the image in front of him and said, “Thank you grandpa.”

“Young Clark, you are so much like your father. Your mother has done so well preparing you for this time of crisis. Grandson, never doubt yourself or feel that you don’t fit in, because of who you are. You are from a royal lineage. You will learn more of this when the proper time comes. In the meantime enjoy your time with your soon to be family.”

“But grandfather it won’t ever be, mom said so, before we found out that dad was in trouble,” as he said this tears rolled down his face.
“Don’t worry about that Clark, remember I promised you that your Christmas wish would be granted.”
As soon as he heard that familiar voice, Clark wiped the tears from his eyes and when he looked up, he found Father Christmas standing right next to the image of Jor-El. Could it be he wondered that his wish was actually going to come true? In spite of what his mother had said?

“Don’t doubt it Clark, remember I said that all you had to do was believe and it would happen? Just keep believing young man, believe! Don’t consider what you hear or see…Just believe!”

“I will Father Christmas, I will!”

Then Jor-El said, “You better be on your way so you can let both Martha and your mother know, that your father is going to be alright. They will be very worried.”

“You’re right grandfather; I’d better get on my way. They will be concerned about both of us.”

After saying this, he made his way to the portal and shortly afterward found himself in that special room in the cave. Then using his super speed he made his way back to Metropolis Airport. It was there he found two very worried looking women.

His sudden appearance startled them, but they recovered quickly and asked him if everything went okay and they wanted to know if his father was going to be alright.

Where are You Christmas

He is Going to Be Alright

Chapter 22

Both women looked directly at the young boy, awaiting his answer. Although he had been gone less than thirty minutes, it seemed like an eternity to Martha and Lana.

“We did it, Clark Jr.” shouted! “We did it! He is going to be alright. I took dad to The Fortress, grandpa Jor-El was there. He had me place dad in a special chamber, to treat him for the Kryptonite poisoning.”

“He was really sick. If it wasn’t for my super speed and super strength, he wouldn’t have made it. He lost a lot of blood and when I found him at Luthorcorp, Father Christmas was removing the large pieces of Kryptonite from his body. Then grandpa Jor-El appeared and told me to go to the Kawatchie caves with dad. From there, we were transported to The Fortress. Once we were inside the fortress, Jor-El instructed me to put him a special healing chamber.”

“Mom, dad is amazing and he is huge! He must be at least six feet and four inches tall and he is all muscle, mom. If I hadn’t developed super strength, I wouldn’t have been able to budge him.”

I can only imagine what he is like now son, it’s been almost ten years since we have seen each other, but when he and I were together, he was extremely well built. He was a boy then now he’s man. I really do want to see him, but I couldn’t handle it right now emotionally. Well, the last flight to home has departed. We will have to fly out tomorrow. I can leave now, knowing that you father is going to be fine. Smiling at the young boy in front of her she gave him the biggest and most loving hug she could. “Son,” Lana said. “Thank you, for saving your dad, even though it appears that he and I can’t be together, I will always love him! No matter whom he chooses to be with.”

“But mom, Father Christmas promised me, that we would be together as a family. Let’s stay and see dad, before we go.”

“Son, Father Christmas doesn’t make mistakes, but he may be referring to the future, I really don’t see us becoming a family at this time. There are just too many issues, your dad and I need to work out and I just don’t have the strength to do that now, maybe some other time.”

“Lana, Martha said, young Clark is right, you should stay until after Christmas. Then you can sit down with Clark Sr. and maybe you two can come to an understanding.”

“Not now mom, I’ll go back home tomorrow, but I think I am going to leave Clark Jr. here with you, so he can meet his father. That is…If you don’t mind him staying a few more days with you. Its time for your father to learn that he has a son and that you were the one who saved him. You are so much alike its time you met one another. Clark Sr. can bring him home or you can put him on a plane and I will meet him at the airport. I just want to go home and think about what I really want in my life and plan the direction, I want to follow from here. How strange to be at this point of my life and not really be sure of what I want anymore.”

“Well, there are no flights out until tomorrow at two in the afternoon and its Christmas Eve. I don’t want to leave you here to sleep in an airport and I don’t want you and my grandson sleeping in a Metropolis hotel on Christmas Eve. So, lets all go back to the farm, get a good nights sleep and I’ll bring you back to the airport tomorrow.”

“That sounds good to me mom,” Lana replied. I really do hate sleeping in airports. The bed in your guest room sounds so much more inviting than these seats here. Clark you are going to love Christmas at the Kent farm. Wait until you taste your grandmothers holiday cooking. Why she bakes the world’s best apple pie and your father is the world’s best pie eater. Mom I didn’t see a tree up at the house, have you picked one up yet?”

“No, I haven’t gotten one yet. I was actually going to skip putting one up this year, but now I have reason to celebrate, let’s cut one down. There are plenty of nice trees on the farm. Clark you can cut one down. Just the way your father did when he was your age. After rushing your father to The Fortress, I don’t think you will have any problem getting a tree to the house.”

“Okay then,” Lana said, “It’s off to the farm we go.”

“Lana,” Martha said, I will be up extra early cooking, so that we can have a Christmas meal together. I don’t want you to get up to help. You have had a rough time the past few days, emotionally, so you sleep in and I will get you up in time for Christmas dinner and we will still be able to get you to the airport in time for your flight back home. You are sure you won’t change your mind and stay?”

“I can’t mom, too many painful memories, but with time, I will be able to deal with them. When that happens, I will be back I promise you! But I really want Clark to meet his father.”

As they were headed back to Smallville, Martha was trying to think of a way, she could get Lana to stay. She also wondered how she might get in touch with her son. To let him know that the love of his life was in town?

Meanwhile, young Clark was not giving up hope for a special miracle to occur.

Where are You Christmas

Christmas Day

Chapter 23

After the trio had arrived at The Kent Farm, Lana took Clark up to his father’s room and helped him get ready for bed. When he had finished brushing his teeth, he put on a different pair of pajamas (This one had spaceships all over them and they were his father’s favorite). He hopped into bed and waited for Lana to kiss him goodnight and tuck him in. Lana smiled as she did this, because here he was the second fastest and strongest individual on this planet and she was getting him ready for bed.

Looking up at his mother, the woman he loved the most in this world, he asked if she would think again about her decision to leave Smallville tomorrow. He really wanted her to be with him when he went to meet his father. He had not given up on the chance that they would be a family; Father Christmas promised this to him. “Clark,” she answered, “I am totally in love with your father, but I am not exactly sure that he loves me the way I love him. It really hurts me to think that the love of my life could care for another. I really don’t want to take the chance of discovering that he is in love with Lois. I will leave tomorrow as I had originally planned, but I want you to stay and meet your father. He needs to learn about you…His son. It will fill his heart with joy to find out about you. He will teach you so many things about you’re newly found abilities. There is so much for you to learn….Well enough about that now…Its way past your bedtime and you have had a very busy day, saving your dad, meeting Jor-El and seeing Father Christmas. So close your eyes my son and get some sleep. I don’t want you to worry about me, I will be fine. Your dad and I will talk someday, but not today.”

Seeing both, the love his mother had for his father and also, the hurt she experienced because of losing him, in her eyes, little Clark didn’t press her anymore to stay. He only hoped that one day soon, they would have that talk together and become a family. To him, the answer was simple…They should both sit down and work out their differences. But his mother did not want to take that step yet.

Then Lana said goodnight to her son and went downstairs to spend a little more time with Martha. She found her in the enclosed study Clark built during that last year before leaving for his training. The senator was looking through old photo albums, at pictures of Lana and Clark…Together during happier times. Martha was smiling and laughing at one of the pictures as Lana entered the room.

“Why are you laughing,” Lana asked?

“Come here and look for yourself,” the older woman replied.

When she had looked at the picture, Lana also began to laugh. The picture they were so amused by was a picture taken of Clark as he was trying to learn to control his heat vision. He was trying to stop the beams that were coming out of his eyes as they were burning a Kryptonian message into the side of the Barn door. The other picture that made them chuckle was one that showed the look on his face after his sneeze had blown the barn door off. Both women laughed until their sides hurt and tears were coming from their eyes. For the next few hours they sat side by side on the sofa, reliving old memories and crying tears of joy. Lana realized that in spite of the difficulties she endured during those years that they were still the best years of her life. Not only that, she was beginning to see just how much he loved her. She began to see, how much he tried to protect her from his secret. She also thought about, how much she had hurt him, when she was with Lex.

Tears began to fall from the younger woman’s eyes, when she considered of all the love that had been lost because of her foolish actions on that fateful day that her behavior drove him away because of her foolish actions and attitude. Realizing what she must be thinking Martha leaned over and put her arms around Lana and said, “It’s okay my dear, everything is going to work out fine. I know my son and no matter what you thought you saw in Metropolis, Clark has been in love with and will love only one person and that person is you Lana, not Lois or anyone else!”

“I pray that you are right mom. I hope I haven’t done irreparable harm to our relationship. I just hope that he can forgive me for my foolish actions and behavior. I was so young then and I didn’t know that he was trying to protect me from the evil that was Lex Luthor. I had no idea that his deceptions and unwillingness to tell me everything were his way of protecting me from his secret.”

“He has forgiven you my dear. Clark never held a grudge against anyone and he certainly knew all the frustration and confusion you went through because of his secret. Day after day he would think about telling you his secret. He wanted you to know the real person he was…Kal-El of Krypton. Not the person he had to show the rest of the world. You know the more he learned of his heritage, the more he wanted you to know about that part of his life. He loved you so much Lana.”

The two women held each other in a hug for quite some time. It was a healing embrace for Lana and Martha could sense the guilt and sadness that she had carried for so many years, starting to melt and fall off of her adopted daughter. After that, they finished looking through the family albums. The very last picture they looked at was the one of Lana and Clark at the prom. They were standing close together with Clark holding her close to him. “This is my favorite,” Martha said! “A person would have to be blind not to see the love each of you has for the other.”

Lana smiled and said, “It’s my favorite one too! Although he didn’t tell me he loved me for a long time after that night. I could feel his love for me, every time I looked at this picture. I have this very same picture hidden in my cedar chest that I have at home. I kept it hidden from young Clark, but I would gain strength and hope by looking at it every day.”

“Well, I know that he loves only you my dear and I have a feeling that you are going to find that out very soon. Now we better get at least a few hours of sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day.”

Where are You Christmas

Chapter 24

Time to Go Home

A few hours later Lana became aware of the smell of a wonderful Christmas dinner. She was in the middle of a most wonderful dream she had ever had. In this dream she was at The Kent home, Jonathan had just given her a Christmas hug and a warm welcome into the family, Martha was beaming with joy and congratulated her on becoming a real member of the Kent Clan. Then Clark picked her up, spun her around and asked how it felt to be engaged to Smallville’s only superhero.

She was elated because, in her dream, Clark had just brought her back from his Fortress, where he finally revealed his secret to her and then proposed to her. In the dream she was not only overwhelmed by finally knowing the truth about the man she loved, but more so by the fact that he had just proposed. Finally, Clark Kent admitted to her, that he loved her and asked her to be his wife for all time. Then, he took a lump of coal, squeezed it very hard with his hand, until it became a diamond. With his freeze breath, he cooled it and brushed it off. A ring was formed out of a lump of gold that he removed from his pocket. Then with his heat vision the diamond was fused in the settings of the ring, he just fashioned with his own hands. She couldn’t believe her eyes and ears and was about to pinch herself to see if she was really awake.

Lana smile deepened when Clark knelt down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Although he told her to think about it and tell him later that day, she already knew her answer. Her heart spoke the words for her and she heard herself saying…Yes, Yes, Yes. When Clark saw her reaction, he immediately placed the ring on the fourth finger of her left hand, pulled her into a loving kiss and they continued in there embrace, until they both had to come up for air. As they struggled to catch their breaths, they continued holding each other as tightly as possible, until Clark said we have to go home and share the news with my parents.

Moving faster than he had ever run before, he picked up his lovely fiancé and ran with her to the transportation chamber, put the hexagonal disc in place and within seconds they were back in the Kawatche caves. Still holding her in his arms he ran at super speed to the farm, where he announced the news to his parents who were very happy to hear what had finally taken place. Later after they had eaten a wonderful Christmas dinner, they gathered around the tree and opened gifts. Lana was contented with her engagement ring and Clark’s proposal, but he had another surprise for her. This young man had been saving his money for a long time and presented her with tickets for two to Paris. It also included hotel arrangements, transportation cost and a three week itinerary.

This was too much, Lana thought she had died and gone to heaven. A three week vacation with the love of her life in France she was overjoyed. In addition to that Clark had also planned their wedding to be held just before they left on this wonderful holiday together. Everything was so wonderful and she was happier than she had ever been until, she was awaken from her dream, just before the wedding was to occur, by her alarm clock. Darn, she said to herself, why didn’t I set it to go off, thirty minutes from now. Then I would have at least been able to see the wedding. Looking at the clock it was set for seven-thirty time to get up and help Martha prepare the Christmas dinner, but after she showered, dressed and had gone downstairs, she was surprised to see that the food she smelling in her dream was actually coming from Martha’s kitchen and The Christmas dinner was ready. Everything was cooked and the table set, Martha had finished everything. What an amazing woman Martha is, Lana thought. “Merry Christmas Lana, Martha said giving the younger woman a kiss on the cheek and then holding her in a loving Christmas morning hug. Did you sleep well, in spite of the little bit of time that you were able to rest?”

“Yes,” she replied. “Even though it was only a few hours of sleep, it was the best rest that I have had in years! I had a dream about Christmas with Clark. He had just brought me back from his Fortress to enjoy Christmas with you and Jonathan. He had taken me there to tell me about his secret and proposed to me. We came back to the farm to get you blessing and celebrate Christmas with you both. It was wonderful; too bad I had to wake up.”

“Don’t be sad my dear, dreams have a way of coming true, especially in this house at Christmas time.”

“I really hope that you are right,” the younger woman replied, with a sad smile on her face.

“Get young Clark ready. The food is ready; we will have just enough time to make Christmas service, then come back to have Christmas dinner and still be able to get you to the airport by two P.M. your flight won’t be leaving until three-forty five. I called the airport and checked. Every flight is on schedule. Are you sure you won’t change your mind and stay a few more days?”

“I can’t Martha, not this time, but I promise to come back soon and then I plan on staying much longer. This trip was to be a short one, so I could see how well I could handle being back in Smallville and so little Clark could learn about his heritage. He has seen and learned even more than I hoped on this visit. He is going to really enjoy spending time with his father and maybe his father will think about dropping by California to have a talk…You never know?”

“Well, I’ll go get my son ready, she said walking toward the stairs.”

She reached the top of the stairs, walked down the hall and entered the room where young Clark was probably conceived and there he was Clark Jr. deep in sleep. Lana stopped and watched her son sleeping, as she had so many times back home. It was uncanny how much he looked like his father. She wished Clark Sr. could be here to see this and see how much his son was like him, even in his sleep. What a joy and blessing the lad had been to her. He was totally obedient and considerate. He made sure that he did all the hard work around the house, so she wouldn’t have too. He loved his mom more than anyone and although he always wanted to know about his father, for her sake he never asked any questions about him, knowing how sad she was not having him with them. He never wanted to hear her cry at night thinking about him. Yes, he is a wonderful son and since his father couldn’t be with her she thought, at least I have had his son to care for. The loneliness would have been unbearable without the young man.[i]

Going over to the side of the bed that he was facing, she gave him a loving kiss on the cheek and then awakened him. “Clark,” she said softly, “Son, it’s time to get up. It’s Christmas Day. We have to go to a Church Service, then have Christmas Dinner and then mommy has to go to the airport, remember?”

“Good morning mom,” he said, with a very sleepy voice. “It can’t be time to get up already! I mean, I just closed my eyes. Let me sleep just a little longer.”

“Clark Jerome Kent it’s time to get up,” Lana said chuckling some, again realizing how much he was like his father. Then she began to tickle his feet. This was one sure fire way to get him awake. He couldn’t stand to have anyone tickle his feet. Within seconds he was sitting up in bed begging his mother to stop and laughing at the same time. He was very careful not to kick his feet, because with his strength he could knock her through the wall. “Please stop mommy, I’m awake, I’m awake!”

“Are you sure that you are awake young man,’ she asked, knowing that he was?

He repeated, “Please mommy, no more, I’m awake. I promise.”

“Then let’s get going young man. You have to shower, get dressed, brush your teeth, comb your hair, get you new Christmas suit on and you have thirty minutes. That shouldn’t be very hard at all for a boy who has super speed.”
The young boy went into the bathroom and to Lana’s surprise was out in less than five minutes all clean, dressed, hair combed, teeth brushed and everything.
Lana was stunned and asked how he was able to do all that so quickly, forgetting about his newly acquired ability.
“With my supers peed, did you forget that I now can move really fast?”
“That right, I was so surprised seeing you all cleaned, dressed hair combed and teeth brushed, I had forgotten about how fast you have become. I bet I won’t even have to go in the bathroom to see if your tooth brush is wet. Will I?”

With a big smile on his face he said, “No you don’t mom, I did everything. I really like these new abilities. I hope I get more soon.” Then, going over to his mother, he put his arms around her and as he hugged her, he said, “Thank you for being such a wonderful mother and thank you for making me come on this trip. I never understood why you never talked much dad and I always wondered why you would stop and stare at the T.V. set whenever a news story about Superman was on, but now it all makes sense. Thanks for being such a special mom!”

Hugging him back she said, “Your welcome and I love you so much! Now let’s go downstairs so grandma can see how good you look in your new suit.”

[i]Martha couldn’t believe her eyes, when her grandson walked into the kitchen. For a brief instant, she thought that she had been transported twenty two years or so into the past. There was Clark standing before her, in his new Christmas suit, but it wasn’t her grandson that she was seeing. It was her son. Looking just the way he always did in the new suit that she and Jonathan got for him every Christmas. She half expected Jonathan to come down stairs to ask her if his tie was okay.
Lana noticed her facial changes and realized what Martha must be thinking.
Then as she realized that she hadn’t been transported into the past, but that the young man was none other than her grandson, she went over and hugged him saying, “Merry Christmas, grandson! My, don’t you look handsome. Lana stood in the living room watching with a sense of pride thinking, about how handsome her son was and why not, he looked so much like his father and Clark Sr. was a very handsome man. Even as beautiful as she was, Lana could not believe that Clark Sr. had fallen in love with her.

There was just enough time for Clark to sit and have a bowl of Cheerios, before they left to go to church. Martha drove and they were on time for the service. The pastor was a former classmate of Lana’s and he was happy to see that she returned to Smallville for a visit. When he took a look at her son, he knew right away, who his father was. The service was wonderful! It was Christmas Day, the day when Christians all over the world celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ. When the service had ended everyone in the church went over to say hello to Martha, Lana and young Clark. The people were so happy to see them, especially Lana and young Clark. Everyone remarked about how beautiful Lana was and how much her boy resembled his father. Young Clark smiled with pride each time anyone mentioned how much he resembled his dad.

When they finished wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, they headed home for Christmas Dinner. The dinner was wonderful as expected. Martha could cook! There was turkey with all the fixings, ham, green beans, mashed potatoes, special gourmet spinach, which young Clark loved, orange flavored yams covered with melted marshmallows, baked beans and pie ala mode. Martha had as usual come up with a wonderful meal.
“How did you do all of this in so little time, Martha,” Lana asked?
“I took a power nap and when you are used to cooking for two hungry farm men, you learn to do things fast.” After the meal they rested, for a little while. Lana wanted to do the dishes and clear the kitchen, but Martha wouldn’t have that, instead she has Lana pack her things to get ready for the trip home. Clark was sad that his mother was leaving, but he knew why she was leaving. He put her bags in the car. Then after a long goodbye hug with Martha and then with her son. She got in the car. When they were all ready to drive off, Lana asked Martha not to drive off yet. Martha knew what Lana needed to do. She asked young Clark to stay with his grandmother while she went to pay a last visit to the loft.

I hope you are enjoying my story. I am almost finished (Finally). More coming soon.

Thanks for the advice about the colors. I will change it now. I did that purposely about the superspeed. Sometimes even if we know something, it surprises us to see it carried out. I though it would be fun to have her surprised by Clark becoming ready faster than she was accustom to.:)

Where are You Christmas
Chapter 25
What Really Happened to Me

Opening his eyes, Clark Sr. (Superman) was surprised to find himself in the Fortress rather than in a far off city high in the clouds wearing wings. That was too close for comfort; I didn’t think I was going to make it. I had so much Kryptonite embedded in my body after that explosion and I had lost so much blood. But I don’t understand, how did I get here? I wasn’t able to move, let alone fly myself here. So how did I get here? Even more, how is it that I am still alive?

Hearing voices with his super hearing he sped to the central area of the fortress and to his surprise saw a jolly, old man, wearing a red outfit trimmed with white fur and sporting a long white beard, talking to Jor-El. The man in red seemed, somewhat familiar, but he didn’t know who he was for sure, until he laughed. When he did, his stomach shook, like a bowl full of jelly. Seeing this Clark knew immediately, who this man was, it was Father Christmas.

Going over to where the two were talking, he greeted them. “Jor-El, it’s good to see you, Clark said, “And Father Christmas it’s good to see you too. I am having a little trouble understanding why I am still alive. That much Green K. exposure is uniformly fatal. I should be dead and in addition to that, I am at a loss to understand, how I ended up here in the fortress alive, healthy and not covered in blood? Can either of you help me with that…I am a bit confused? Also am I mistaken Father Christmas or were you there at Luthor Corp, pulling chards of Kryptonite out of my body, a short time ago? I vaguely recall you being there, but I was in and out of consciousness and hallucinating because of Kryptonite toxicity.

I even hallucinated seeing a young boy come to my rescue. He was very fast and incredibly strong. I think he even called me dad. That Kryptonite is bad stuff. I’ll have to be more cautious next time that was a close call.”

“Yes Clark I was there. I had to make sure that you were going to be alright. You see, three people are counting on seeing you today. Two of them you already know, but the third one is a little boy who is very anxious to meet you. Somehow you came out of the coma, caused by the Kryptonite poisoning and were able to see him. That boy is the real hero Clark, he carried you from Luthorcorp to the Kawatche Cave and teleported with you to the Fortress.

He is the one who at Jor-El direction placed you in the chamber which neutralized and then reversed the effects of the Kryptonite which was killing you. Clark if it hadn’t been for that little boy’s help you would be dead. That young lad saved your life.”

“So there was a young boy there after all. But how could a young lad of…he seemed to be about nine or ten years old. Carry me and get me here in time to save me.”

“He is nine Clark,” Father Christmas said. He loves you with all his heart. He was happy to be the one to get you here to keep you from dying.

But how could a child of nine, be strong enough or fast enough to get me from Metropolis to the Kawatche Caves and then here, in enough time for me to undergo the detoxification treatment? Wait, Father Christmas, did you say he saved me and he is anxious to meet me? Did you also say that two other people are hoping to see me too? Did they all make similar Christmas wishes?”

“Yes, Kal-El they all made Christmas wishes,” Jor-El said, answering the question for Father Christmas. “I do hope you honor those wishes and visit them. You are going to have to hurry, there isn’t much time!”

“Who made these wishes father,” he said looking at Jor-el somewhat confused, by his answer. “How old did you say this young boy was he said looking over at Father Christmas?”

“He is nine years old Clark.” The man in the red suit replied, lighting up his pipe. “Oh by the way Clark, I forgot to mention one other person, whose Christmas wish needs to be answered , you. You asked me not long ago to answer a wish and I believe it was about a beautiful young woman that we all know.”

“Wait,” Clark said, piecing everything together. “The boy was nine, had my strength and my speed and was allowed to leave the Fortress after bringing me here without any interference from Jor-El . then the light inside Clark went on. Is it possible? Could it really be true? Is that boy my…?”

“Yes Clark, replied Jor-El. “The boy is my grandson. That makes you his father. Congratulations my son. He is dying to meet his father…Superman.”

“But, I have searched for Lana all over the world and I haven’t been able to locate her anywhere.”
“That’s because she wasn’t ready to face you yet, after the way she acted, so many years ago, that she drove you off into training. She still feels very bad, but she loves you very much and can’t bear not being with you any longer. She is in Smallville Clark, at the farm with your mother, but she is about to leave for the airport to go back home.”

“But why didn’t she come to see me. Everyone knows that I work for, ‘The Daily Planet,’ mom would have told her that.”

“She did go to see you. Lana was bringing Clark Jr. to meet his father, but then she saw Lois kissing you. It hurt her to believe that you loved her. Lana was crushed by Lois’ display. They left immediately and she would have been back home already, but as they were about to board the plane a news flash about the Luthercorp accident was broadcasted. Martha knew that Kryptonite was kept by Lex at that plant. Then when you didn’t return with rescue victims, they feared the worse.

Clark volunteered to go and save you and lucky for you that he was able to get the job done!”
“Lana, here in… Smallville, a son you say. I thought I recognized her favorite perfume that day... Lois must have seen Lana and thought she could hurt her by kissing me. It almost worked. I almost missed seeing her, because of Lois.”

“Well Clark you will miss seeing Lana now if you don’t get moving fast. She is going to the airport, but not until she goes to the loft to say goodbye to you, Father Christmas said.”

“Clark, there is no time to waste. Get going Jor-El added and don’t come back without her and my grandson!”

Leaving the Fortress, Clark flew as fast as he could to Smallville. He didn’t even stop to use the teleportation chamber.

Where are You Christmas
Chapter 26
Together Again

Lana closed the car door and headed directly to the barn, she realized that this was probably her last trip to the place where she and Clark spent so much time together, years ago. Her light and lively way of walking had vanished. She now walked, as if she were carrying the weight of the whole world on her shoulders. Each step took more and more effort to make. She reached the entryway into the barn and then made her way to the stairway that led to the loft. Stopping at the bottom step, almost unable to go on, she thought of leaving right away. Her eyes began to fill with tears. Catching herself, she thought, I can do this, I have to. As she stood there on that bottom step, she began to remember all the good times she and Clark had experienced in their special place. As she was recalling the special moments they had together, she thought she heard someone up there. But as she continued to listen, Lana realized that it was just wishful thinking on her part. There was no one in the loft. It had been empty for a number of years. She remembered the times she would hear the scratchy sounds of Clark’s transistor radio, playing songs from the local radio station and in his senior year, together they listened to announcers wishing Clark and the rest of the Smallville team well, on their quest to become State Champions.

Getting a grip on her emotions, she slowly climbed up the twenty four steps to their special place. Memory after memory flashed through her mind as she moved closer to the top. This was where she brought Clark that small cake with candles on his birthday, many years ago. That was the night of their first kiss. She remembered asking him to make a wish. His response was she’s already here, standing right in front of me.

She also remembered another occasion when she noticed Clark’s telescope at the window, looking through it she realized Clark could see her sitting on the porch or walking around the yard (She didn’t think it was strange, but liked the fact that he cared so much about her, that he would gaze at her from time to time, through it). She also recalled finding him asleep on his couch many times, when he was supposed to be studying. This was also the place where, after they had an argument they would kiss, make up and hold each other for hours, until all the hurt was removed by their loving embrace. There were so many, many more memories and they were all rushing through her mind right now.

Tears began falling freely from her eyes and down her face and there was no way that she could stop them. Clark was the love of her life, she knew that all too well now. He loved her more than he could love anyone and because of her arrogant, flippant attitude and reckless behavior, she had lost him forever. She stood at the top of those steps looking around the loft for a long time. Then softly, she began to speak.

“Hello my love, no you aren’t here, I saw to that by my foolish actions almost ten years ago. You were so very concerned about the changes you were seeing in me. But, I foolishly laughed and told you, that this is what I have become and you could take it or leave it. You didn’t want to go…I drove you away. I often think about that day, realizing your love for me was causing you to point those things out to me. I wish I had taken your advice, but I didn’t. Guilt over what I had become drove you away. Because you felt that you were directly responsible for what I had become. I wish I could take those words back, but we both know that it’s impossible.

Well love, I am back. I stayed away, not knowing how you would react to seeing me again. When I decided to return, I hoped that you would be around, so that I could see you and that we could talk things out. You see sweetheart, I am still madly and completely in love with you. Without you I am empty, alone, nothing, without hope or any sense of direction, for my life. Yes, I am very successful, from a business point of view, but without you in my life, it’s all meaningless.

I want you to know that you have a son. He’s a wonderful boy! In fact he not only looks like you, but he acts like you as well. I wish you could see him right now, he is your mini me. I named him Clark Jr. you won’t believe this but, he is starting to develop you abilities and he needs you to teach and guide him. I am leaving him here with your mother for a time. She will get in touch with you and let you know that he is here. He knows who you are, in fact he saved you from the Kryptonite poisoning you got from the Luthorcorp explosion.

Clark my love, you don’t have to worry, you don’t ever have to see mean again. You can just put him on a plane. Or better yet he can actually run home, you see he has your speed and strength.

Well my love, I had better get going. My flight leaves at three thirty. I really wanted to see you, but when we went to The Daily Planet and I saw you kissing Lois and…Well I am not as strong as I often pretended to be.”

(She began to cry unashamedly).

“Well, one last goodbye, my love. Having said this she turned to go, but she stopped, turned around, looked at the couch where they spent so much time together and said, it’s Christmas Day, I almost forgot. Pausing for a moment, she wiped her eyes and began to sing.

(Go to the link…It adds to the effect).
“Where are you Christmas
Why can't I find you
Why have you gone away
Where is the laughter
You used to bring me
Why can't I hear music play

My world is changing
I'm rearranging
Does that mean Christmas changes too

Where are you Christmas
Do you remember
The one you used to know
I'm not the same one
See what the time's done
Is that why you have let me go

Christmas is here
Everywhere, oh
Christmas is here
If you care, oh

If there is love in your heart and your mind
You will feel like Christmas all the time

I feel you Christmas
I know I've found you
You never fade away
The joy of Christmas
Stays here in silence
Fills each and every heart with love."

Where are you Christmas
Fills your heart with love.”

Where Are You Christmas

Chapter 26

--Continued--

Lana sang the song once and was about to repeat it a second time when she heard the very same words she had sung, but with a deeper voice, a man’s voice. Then she felt arms go around her waist, pull her close to him and then placed his head next to hers in a loving fashion.

Was she imagining this, had she gone completely mad? Her mind had to be playing tricks on her. Well, so be it, she thought. I want to be with the love of my life so badly, that if this is the only possible way, then I accept it. I have crossed the line, I am completely crazy. She thought she would relax and give in completely to this hallucination. But then she heard it again. It was a male voice and it sounded the way, she imagined Clark would sound grown up.

The voice sang these words:

“Where are you Christmas
Why can't I find you
Why have you gone away
Where is the laughter
You used to bring me
Why can't I hear music play

My world is changing
I'm rearranging
Does that mean Christmas changes too

Where are you Christmas
Do you remember
The one you used to know
I'm not the same one
See what the time's done
Is that why you have let me go

Christmas is here
Everywhere, oh
Christmas is here
If you care, oh

If there is love in your heart and your mind
You will feel like Christmas all the time

I feel you Christmas
I know I've found you
You never fade away
The joy of Christmas
Stays here in silence
Fills each and every heart with love."

Where are you Christmas
Fills your heart with love.”

She couldn’t move, even if this was her imagination, it was what she needed right now. She leaned into the imagined embrace, tears still flowing freely from her eyes. With a feeling of total despair, she said, “Oh Clark, I love you so much! I am sorry that I destroyed our love, by my foolishness. If you were only here I would tell you all the things I need to so you would see how much I care for and miss you. Lois is a very lucky to have you love now. I wish it were me instead.”

Then she heard her hallucination say, “Lois, I have no feelings of love for her. Lana, why would you say that, it’s you that I love and want to spend my life with! Not Lois.”

Lana’s eyes opened suddenly, then quickly, almost as if she had super speed, she turned around and right there before her very eyes was the man she had driven off, ten years earlier. He had tears coming from his eyes as well. Smiling at her he said, “Lana, it’s you! I’ve finally found you, after all my years of searching…You’re back!”

Before he could say another word, she screamed…"Clark" and jumped into the air, wrapping both legs around his waist. Then her lips sought out his immediately. They kissed, their first kiss, in over ten years. It wasn’t gentle, it was actually rough, savagelike…Filled with all the passion that ten years of abstinence can cause. All that pent up passion had finally found a way of release. He would have taken her, then and there, but there were things that had to be said first.

“Clark," Lana said, "Is it really you? Are you really here? I don’t want this to be another dream, that I will awaken from, with tears in my eyes, clutching that lifeless pillow.”

“It’s me my love, no I am not a lifeless pillow. I am real and if either of us wake up from this marvelous moment, then we will go right back to sleep so we can continue this dream. I love you Lana and I couldn’t live another instant without you.”

“I love you Clark and I don’t want to spend another second of my life without you.”

Before either of them could say another word, there was a whoosh of air and a young boy stood next to them. “Mom are you okay? I heard you call my name out loud and I got worried.”

Smiling she leaned over to her son, kissed him on the forehead and said, “Clark Jr. I want you to meet Clark Sr. This man holding me is your father, otherwise known as Superman.”

Clark Sr. put Lana down for a short time, looked at the young boy and said, “Lana, is this my son?”

Clark Jr. smiled and said, “Hi dad! I love you dad!”

Father and son embraced each other, they were starting to became acquainted one with another! Then the older Clark smiled at his son and said, “Thank you for saving my life! I wouldn’t be here if it hadn’t been for your brave actions. You’re my hero son.” After he said that, he realized, just how good it felt to call young Clark, son. He thought, [color=blue]I’m a father./color]

Clark Jr. was elated…”Dad, I finally get to talk to my dad and my dad is Superman,” he said looking at and touching his red cape.

As this wonderful reunion was occurring, Martha climbed the steps to the loft and said, "Isn’t anyone going to invite me to this happy reunion?"

Turning to Martha, Clark Sr. said, Hello mom! I am sorry I stayed away so long, forgive me, it won’t happen again. I think you know why I stayed away?”

“I know son, but don’t let it happen again.”

Then suddenly, they heard another voice, behind them. “Merry Christmas everyone, it’s good to see you all together,” Father Christmas said. Then looking at little Clark he said, "Do you see what happens when you believe, young man.”

The lad was all smiles and he said, “Thank you Father Christmas.”

Than looking at Lana and Clark, he placed their hands together and said, “You two get married, have many children and don’t ever let a misunderstanding come between you again.”

Then looking at Martha, he said, “The love of a mother is very powerful and accomplishes much. Thank you for your part in believing for this happy reunion.” Then he whistled and a sled pulled by eight reindeer and Rudolph appeared at the loft window stepping out of the window and getting into the sled, he said, “ Merry Christmas everyone…Never stop believing.” Then he shouted to the reindeer, ”Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!
Now dash away, dash away, dash away all!” In an instant he was gone.

After a time of hugging and kissing, the happy family made its way into the house. Once inside Clark Jr. smiling at his mother asked, “Does this mean you’re not going to the airport today mom?”

“That right son, I won’t be going now!” :)

Where Are You Christmas

Taking Care of Unfinished Business

Chapter 27

“Your right son, mom isn’t going anywhere! At least, not without, you and me.” As Clark finished saying this, Lana turned, reached up and pulled his head close to her own, so their lips could meet in another kiss. One that was so full of passion that even Martha began to blush.

“Mom”, Clark Sr. asked Martha, “Would you mind if Lana and I went upstairs for a little while to talk about a few things?”

Martha, seeing the overstretched area of his Superman suit and the look in Lana’s eyes, replied, I think it’s time for you both to take care of things you have both neglected for far too long, so go. Young Clark and I can keep ourselves busy, while you do that, now go!
Having been young and in love with Jonathan, years before, Martha, knew what they needed to do and she wasn’t embarrassed at all, but strongly recommended that they do it now!
With a whoosh, Lana and the elder Clark were gone. They had to use the guest room since young Clark was in his old room. They wasted no time with the normal pleasantries a couple typically would make time for. It had been ten years since this couple, who loved each other so much, had been together. They were desperate, almost frantic, as they pulled off their clothing. They had to be one with each another each other and they needed to be quick about it or they felt they would die. The look in their eyes, as they went about getting ready to satisfying their needs would frighten most people. Lana and Clark however were aware of what they needed to do for each other. They both knew that only they could satisfy one another and nothing on Earth was going to get in their way, stop them or even slow them down.
Clark in the midst of all of this remembered, that she was not Kryptonian and that he in spite of his ardor, had to be careful, so that he didn’t hurt the woman he loved. Lana on the other had didn’t care. She needed this more than anything else right now and even if he split her in half and killed her during the process of their love making…Thought, what a way to go!

Their kisses were rough, loving, but hurried, savage-like, almost beastly. As they finished undressing each other, Clark looked at Lana and thought, She is just as beautiful as she was the last time we were together. That time when, she somehow was given my powers and we made seismic activity in the area go off the map. The scientist never did figure out what was happened, that day..
Lana looking at her beloved, smiled as she saw him at full alert, ready for their lovemaking. He hasn’t changed one bit. He is always ready for action. He is, as he said, just as in love with me as he was the day we parted..
They began making love, both knowing that it would be rushed, without the normal time spent or building up to a special release. But none of that mattered; this was their first time together in ten long years. Neither one had been with anyone else. They somehow hoped that they would be with one another someday and neither one wanted anyone else.
Knowing them both so well and realizing what was happening, Martha found a monster truck rally on ESPN and turned it on for her grandson, so that he wouldn’t hear the noises and sounds that would eliminate from the guest bedroom. Young Clark was very mature for his age, but all he needed to know right now was that mom and dad needed to talk together. One day he would be old enough to realize what was happening right now and why little sis was born almost none months from that very day. Grandmother was also happy that, her grandson did not possess super-hearing yet. She bought two bowls of vanilla ice cream in covered with chocolate fudge and her grandson was in heaven. He thought, mom and dad together, a monster truck rally on Grandma Kent’s big screen T.V. and a chocolate fudge Sunday, could it get any better than this..

Two hour later as the truck rally was coming to a close and Martha and young Clark had finished off a half gallon of vanilla ice cream, the reunited couple had dozed off. Yes, even Superman was exhausted. Their time together was everything they knew it would be. They were both completely satisfied and both needed rest now. Neither one of them was hungry. This had been an eventful day. Lana had decided in her heart to leave Smallville, without even talking to her beloved. She went to talk to the loft (Which to her represented Clark Sr.), thought she was imagining him there, found the love of her life had actually come to their special place, put his arms around her confessed his undying love to her and both reunited and vowed never to be separated again! All this and before supper.

After the truck rally, young Clark was being treated to watch an old movie with grandmom, “A Christmas Story.” You know, the one where the boy wanted the Red Rider B.B. gun. Martha told her young grandson that it was one of his father’s favorite Christmas time movies. That one and, ‘ It’s a Wonderful Life.’ As they were settling in to enjoy the movie Lana and Clark Sr. joined them. They had showered and changed clothing. Clark wasn’t in his Superman suit and Clark Jr. got to see his father close up in regular clothing. Gosh dad is huge and he is very muscular. Sitting in his favorite recliner, he motioned to his son to join him. With a smile that could rival any, he super sped onto the chair, sat on his dads lap and they enjoyed the show together, but more importantly, they were beginning the journey of getting to know each other. Clark Sr. couldn’t believe that he had a son, especially one who was so much like him, even with abilities. Clark Jr. was enjoying being with his father, finally, after all these years. It was neat knowing that his dad was Superman, the man he admired most in this world, but he would have been none the less thrilled if he wasn’t. He was just happy to be sitting and doing something with his father.

Both Lana and Martha smiled after watching this dynamic duo together. Look at them Lana thought, [i][color=red]They are exactly alike its unbelievable and enjoying being with each other so much. I just knew Clark would be an awesome dad and its so cool seeing young Clark relate so well with his father. Later during the movie, young Clark asked his father, “Dad, why did grandpa Jor-El call you Kal-El?”

“Well son, that’s my Kryptonian name. The El refers to which family I am a descendent of. Your grandfather will one day give you a Kryptonian name too. You see you are half human and half Kryptonian. You are of a royal lineage which you will learn more about in time. Someday your grandfather will want to have you go through training as I did. That won’t be until you are older and you will really enjoy it. Until that time, I will share much about who you are, with you.”
Martha and Lana smiled, as they listened to the questions the young boy asked and the answers given him, by his father. Both women knew that somehow in spite of all the wrong things that had happened in the past, everything would soon be okay.
