View Full Version : Okay, how uncomfortable did KK look when spouting out the science talk?

That scene were Lana was channeling her inner 'Bill Nye the Science Guy' and talking about that lab tech's symptoms? Wow. It was as if she was reading off a cue card.

Really. That type of dialogue is more AM's specialty. Lana should stick to her "secrets and lies" banter. It rolls off the tongue better.

That's one of the reasons she got hired for the part of Chloe.

Yeah, I totally thought it was so fake what she was saying, totally unnatural, I was like "Wow, since when Lana knows so much?"

lol, yeah she's not much of a scifi person more of a drama person. I definitely could tell that she was having a difficult time with the lingo as well

Yea, you gota admit it's not her area of expertise. I'd love to see an outtake of her getting frustrated with her lines!

- "Damn it, Allison! How do you make this techno stuff look so easy?!"

KK would have had a hard time on Star Trek.

I was going to defend her by saying her played a nerd in Edgemont. But then I remembered that was Grace Park...

I didn't have a problem with how Kristin delivered her lines when she was speaking tech talk.

Chloe always talks fast. It doesn't matter what situation. So it's not a surprise that she'd talk rapid fire when she's spewing tech.

Lana speaks slower, so obviously
that' s not gonna change when she's speaking tech stuff.

That said, Kristin has the sexiest voice out of the women in the cast.

Kristin is better suited as the girlfriend!

She can't do anything else.

Well, better than going to 'Earthsea' and still playing the same damn character...

or how about 'Partition' for Lana with an accent?

I have to agree, Earthsea sucked.

[b]or how about 'Partition' for Lana with an accent?

Kristin for your information, got awesome reviews for her acting in Partition. In alot of critics opinion, Kristin was the best thing about the movie.

Seems like a few people can't differentiate between actors and characters.Oh boy play with your puppies.:\

There are a number of times in S7 when I had the impression Lana was talking strangely slowly. Sometimes KK is like e-nun-ci-a-ting her lines so much she takes twice the time it would normally take. The effect of that is sometimes strange. IMO :)

Hmm, I sometimes wonder if that's done on purpose to reflect the new creepy vibe they've given Lana in season 7.

And in Kristin's defense, the Lana character doesn't usually talk very rapid-fire, and almost never about sciency stuff. Not really Kristin's fault.

Personally I think Kristin is a really good actress.

it's just the way she talks, but it totally made it look like she was having trouble spouting out all that stuff.

I could barely sit through half of I Me Wed. It was cute, but sooo predictable!

Ahh I don't think KK did a bad job on her tech talk regarding Scion. It's funny doesn't that name sound a bit familar like in the Matrix movie granted that place was called Zion. haha :D
Also, over the SV seasons themes like in the movies with Season 5 Void ( Can you say did the writers take that from the Flatliners movie.)

I agree. It was very akward. The whole scene seemed rather unbelivable - not only the words she was using, but she kept referencing "her people" and the "Isis foundation" as if these things have been around for years..

I thought maybe she got hit on the head. Or, she was just REALLY uncomfortable talking to Clark about her issues.

It had to be said. Props.

It almost looks as though she grimaced when the report was picked up.

"Damn, the cue for techno babble!'

no i thought she did her lines well...she is a smart character.. now everyone is tryna say she cant handle"big" sentences...
just fall back already...

Lana/KK, was suppose to say the lines like that. IMO, the director probably want her to speak like that. Just slow and creepy, not very enthused, like the way AM would play with Chloe..

Either, some people are biased, haters etc. Why don't you just try it for yourself;) It's really hard trying to keep in character whilst trying to memorize the script:D

^ eh i didnt like it because it wasnt part of the character they've set up for seven seasons. she's all the sudden a scientist? its too unbelievable for me. and she also didnt sound like she understand what she was saying.

to be fair, her lines are usually some form of "secrets and lies". She's had no scientific speak practive ver the last 7 years. give the girl a break.

Yeah, I like Lana fine, it's just out of character. Remember, she had to have help with her homework. It would be more believable if she hired a geek to help her set up. Of course we don't know she didn't, all they needed to do is have a line or two that explains it away.

Huh. I fast-forwarded through the Lana scenes. I hope I didn't miss anything important.

And, although I didn't see the scene itself, Kristin probably looked uncomfortable because even she knew it was out of character.

I also thought her spewing that speech was a little out of her character. Someone had said she takes her time pronouncing her words or sentences and speaks slower.
Did she speak like that in the earlier episodes I am not sure?

Anyways, I thought it was just her being Canadian and trying to sound more American. There is a great difference in pronounciations in certain words between the two countries.

:eek::\:eek::\:rolleyes:

KK would have had a hard time on Star Trek.

A lot of people have a hard time on Star Trek. Kate Mulgrew said she spent three weeks before filming the pilot of Voyager just researching "technospeak."

Let's just laugh at her being rediculus. Hey maybe that is a reason for her charecter.

Really not a fan of KK's voice anyway, it's...unusual. the slow, creepy, breathy voice that always seems to be whispering is just...spooky.

And no, Lana doesn't do the tech-stuff well, but she must be smarter than she looks - she set up a whole espionage system on Lex right under his nose, that's pretty damn impressive.

Jephael

Um, I always thought Kristen had a very elegant voice. It's just that her character gets so emotional that she has to talk that way so often!

I forgot, Lana can also guilt trip people with fake tears, steal millions of dollars, fake her own death, spy on her ex-husband, hold medical patients illegally for months, etc etc....

Oh, and she doesn't feel remorse for any of it. "I did it all for you." Classic lines to force someone into becoming an accomplice.
