She risked her life to save her neice. The only question is, will she return for the next chapter of Heroes?
From the looks of that explosion, I might have to say "no."
Her character annoyed the hell out of me in Season 1, but I found myself starting to like her this past season.

I liked Nikki, the problem with her was they didn't expand on her that much.
That is the problem with a series that has too many characters and too many individual story lines taking place at the same time.
Each story line was very good, but because there were too many, none were satisfactorily expanded on.
I would love to see the scenes that ended up on the cutting room floor.

I've really liked Niki since the beginning. I was really sad when that building exploded. I hope she didn't die and will be back.:(

I'm going to say she's comming back one way or another for the next season because it's still a mystery what is her power. Maybe she's just super strenth or maybe it's something else?
What if her power is actually astral projection or w/e (something where she can come in contact with the dead and let them take over her body) don't know what it's called but yeah If this is her actual power then maybe Jessica was the person with Super Strength and since they both shared the same body she perhaps learned how to use the super strength. I mean so far every hero started with one ability regardless what powers they have now but if you think about it she has 2?
If she doesn't have astral projection(multipe personality) then Jessica probably had it either way they creators never got into this in more details. Who the heck is Gina?
There's something I noticed about the power if it is one that when Jessica took over Nikki's body and yelled at her abuseful dad that one time she does have her own memories so I am assuming Jessica really took over her body and it's not really multiple personality just someone took over her body.

I have a feeling DL saved her. (This is assuming DL never really died.)

Comic law 1: if you don't see the death, they're not dead.
Comic law 2: even if you see them eaten alive by vultures, run over by a herd of elephants and then caught in the heart of a nuclear explosion, they're still probably not dead. ;)

They said that 'coming up' with multiple personalities were just Nikki's way of dealing with her power. Though they didn't really elaborate on that...
Although I'd love to see Nikki back, this could also be the incident that leads Monica to jumpstart her career as the local superhero.

OR, it could be the event that traumatizes the hell out of her and makes her glad to be a cashier. Her new crimefighting motto: "Do you want fries with that?"

She better not be back. I'm tired of people coming back. But I agree, without having actually seen her die...I have my doubts.

I don't want her to die for Micah's ake not her own because she should use her powers more.

Personally, I am bored to death with Nikki / Jessica and her story. She had a fantastic intro in the first few episodes of volume 1 but it just went nowhere. We have no idea what her powers are and the whole DL / Micah situation was just awful. Ali Larter is smoking hot but that's really the only redeeming quality she has on the show. Eye candy and nothing more. I'd feel bad for Micah but I'd be happy to see her not come back.

Nikki had to die in the way that she did, because she was still infected with the Shanti virus, and I seem to remember that future Ma Petrelli said that she was the first person to die of it. Adam was prevented from releasing the really nasty strain, but it is possible that Niki's could have mutated and become contagious, and with her walking around in public could have caused a major outbreak. However, before that could happen, she was killed. And not just killed, but incinerated, one of the best ways of killing an infectious agent inside a recently living host.

I liked Nikki since the beginning- but I thought she was only really interesting when interacting with Jessica and/or Jessica caused situations. Getting rid of the one incredibly interesting aspect of a character killed her long before the fire did.
