Why in the hell did they save Maya?! I went from doing a happy dance to being so overly pissed off that it's not even funny! Nathan and Nikki better not really be dead if Maya got to live.

She'll die eventually, just not yet.

But the thing we'll always remember about her is she got to live when Nathan had to die.

Exactly. Not to mention Nikki and Adam - he wasn't dead yet but I seriously doubt he's going to be able to escape that grave. Therefore a great character and actor is gone from the show why the remaining wonder twin survives. It just ain't fair.

I understand why y'all are unhappy Maya lived, but consider this: if she was killed so simply, that'd mean her entire storyline throughout the Volume was just wasted time (Sylar could've made it to the US by himself, perhaps even easier than with the Wonder Twins). At least now there's opportunity for her character to progress.

This is true.....
And yet... BWAH! I am still pissed! I really can't get into her storyline now that I know that she got to live when Nathan, Nikki, and Adam/Kensei all left and she got to live.

If they killed her now though, then nobody would care.
It is a finale after all, they would want to try and make some impact. That's why characters like D.L. and Alejandro go bye bye in any old ep.

Maya is a lame character, but killing her at this point would make no sense. Why waste 11 episodes showing her coming all the way from South America, then when she finally gets here, simply have her shot down, without ever adding much of anything to the main story of the show? It would mean there was no purpose to ever bringing her on the show in the first place. I don't think they should have brought her on the show in the first place, but since they did, they have to make some significant use of her.

Exactly my point.

Once they got rid of the brother, I liked her.
I hope Sylar has some ice water ready when he gets to her brain, she is one spicy Latina ;)

Man, such hate for Maya. What the hell is she supposed to do, you'd be angsty too if you were an accidental mass murderer and possessed by the Devil (or so she thought at first).
Anyway, no one "got to live" or didn't "get to live". The fact that the promos mentioned something about a number of Heroes that would die is irrelevant. There was no universal law within the show that some Hero/es had to die, nor was there anyone dictating to Kring that he had to kill two Heroes and he had to make a choice. Maya living did not doom some other Hero to die unless you are implying there was some ill fate destined to befall the Heroes. All it was, was some advert jerk looking at the episode in advance and thinking, "Gee, this will make a good dramatic statement: 'Two Heroes will die!'"
Any time that you ignore the advertising surrounding a show (such as the "Save the cheerleader" debacle which turned off two friends from the show before they ever got to see it), you can only come away with an improved experience in watching the actual show. I don't even watch previews for future episodes/seasons sometimes. I like to be surprised.

I never liked her character. I wish she stayed dead. I started shouting at the tv when she was brought back to life.
Hated the storyline. Waste of time in my opinion. Now she is alive, hope her character developes more.... or kill her off in the next volume. the later is better for me. heh

What makes me really mad about Maya is Kring knew our immense Lana-esque hatred for Maya and Alejandro. Not to mention, he even gave an interview addressing fan concerns-- going so far as changing the storyline (before the strike started) to fix what we didn't like.
The part that makes me mad is he kept her alive even though we wanted her gone. If he goes the way of Al/Miles, I'll be pissed.

^ im sure he wont go that route. the last thing this show needs is to be more like Smallville. I'm pretty sure we'll see her die in volume three: villains! Sylar already said he would kill her for that awesome power she has!

I actually want her power to just go away. I dont want Sylar with the 'cry to death power' it's just not an interesting ability to me.

Oh, she'll die.. I mean sylar's got to figure out if he can take her power with them being subduded by the virus .. so I'm thinking he'll kill her.. and if we're lucky it won't work.. and it's be really funny if by trying to take them he ends up powerless again.. yeah.. that's comedy..
I'm really going to miss Nikki and Jessica.. and even that 3rd one.. what's her name.. She had potential and could have been used more for the show..
Nathan.. what can I say really, Claire lost both her fathers to the company.. how fare is that !!??!! I wonder if Claire will be by Peter's side during the funeral... but the real question.. was Nathan killed bc he was coming forward or was it because he had adam's blood in him.. I mean they had adam all those years and Suresh mentions Claire and she's the 'only' hope.. maybe there's a side affect of the blood.. maybe nathan isn't dead because adam's blood was already in his system.. maybe that bullet will just pop out of his eye --sorry wrong dad--chest.. just something to ponder until the show starts back..

Gina. And honestly, I'm glad she (they're) gone. I always hated Niki.

Maya wasn't as irritating in this episode. She seemed less winey and smartened up a little.
I did like her and Syler together though and am sorry that didn't last.
I too boo'ed at the TV when she was resurrected. Though I agree with other posters that if she had truly died her existence would have been pointless

To me, Maya's character seemed to be better because she had more control of her power, thus a little more confident in herself.

The problem is..... too much emphasis was put into Maya and her Brother in a season already plague with writer's strike. For such a short season, they could have used this to their advantage to flesh out the characters from S1, instead we got the Wonder Twins endless whining and killing spree. Everything in this season was rush. They rushed to killing a great character Nathan and Nikki who can be a great character, preferably a villain. But nooooo, they wanted the Eyes of Sauron to be the central figure. Season 2 was titled "Generations", you would think with that name, the writers would actually emphasize on past generations and how they all became like that. There were never a proper explanation for their abilities, if there's anyone older like Adam, or a detailed history of the Company. We get quasi-explanations with a premise that in the next episode "they" will tell more. The freaking producers/writers really like to dangle cheese to mice.

Yeah.....Maya alive was terrible though just killing her would have been pointless. but im glad nikki is dead. she was boring the hell out of me with her nonstop whining about her mental problems. goodbye i say. she had the least exciting story this season and last season. Micah is next! :)
they should have killed Nathan though, I saw him as a real hero of the show. he was needed.

I dont really like Maya, but honestly, if her power was never absorbed or anything, then what wouldve been the point of bringing her on the show if they were just going to kill her? At least now her storyline has some interesting directions to go in.
