So basically water absorbs and reflects her powers back to her like a shortcircuit, kinda like dc's livewire.

More like basic physics. Water conducts electricity.

Yup. Water conduts electricity.
I actually thought it was pretty clever. And after all the times Elle has just randomly zapped people, I also thought it was hilarious and cool to see her finally get a taste of her own medicine. :D

Because she likes it so much, I'm surprised she didn't peak from the experience.

I was honestly surprised she didn't notice she was soaking wet, and realize it would have no effect other than on herself.
She even said "Do you really think this is my first day?" or something, then zaps herself.
Also, completely unrelated to the specific topic, but did anyone think it was silly how Elle got shot in the shoulder-ish, and she was the one driving at the end, instead of Bob/Mohinder.

And, after they went through the trouble to show how HRG could control Elle with the water, the exchange scene she is just tied up with some tape. I knew as soon as the scene started it wasn't going to end well for HRG, I actually yelled at the TV, something that is normally saved for football. "How F&*^%$n stupid can you be!"

That's what I thought! Why didn't HRG keep her wet until the exchange was over?
One last question: is Mohinder taking bad choice lessons from Clark? We should send him to the FOS and let Jor-el teach him a lesson, too.

its not that she was wet that fried her. its that she had her feet in water. you saw how the electricity when up from her feet.

I was thinking that should've had Elle's hands in a plastic bag or balloon full of water
