I can't believe he still doesn't have his own thread :p Talk about the guy here.

i would have made a thread but usually i stick to making a couple every once in a while to give others a chance to get to them.
anyway. his character is intresting cause he is good then bad then good. like i have said a lot he is like lionel luthor with his mysteriousness. he comes off as caring about claire but then he trys to delete her mind. and also deletes everyone elses mind to make claire feel like she is going crazy. i mean why zap zachs memory. he didnt tell and he was like claires best friend and now he doesnt even remember her as a friend. i would like to know more about his research and what his connections are to starting the research. it seemed like he was doing this long before he found out about mohinders dad's list.

yeah...I didn't liked at all the he made that to Zach  But I hear the Zach posted something in his MySpace site. Something like "why I have posted all this things about Claire? she isn't even my friend. I 'm so confused" or something like that. Maybe he isn't gone after all. Anyway. Agree about the Lionel Luthor comparation. Because Mr. Bennet sometimes he's good and sometimes he's not. But Lionel it's moved by the ambition, Mr Bennet? I'm not sure yet.

Me nether, and i agree, what he did to poor zach was pure EVIL:mad: you do NOT erase the nice (not to mention cute) guys memory! you. just. don't. *rawr*
ahem, uh, :embarrasment: anyhoo, i can't wait til claire can confront her father about what he did, that should be intresting.

^^yep but guess that will take a while , I think that now she have to pretend I think. Maybe when the haitian guy tells her, she'll gonna run away from her house and go finally to NY??
btw I saw the comic online the other day (the last one) and wow....was pretty good. I liked it a lot HRG there. The last qupote was awesome: Not erase everything....let the guilt (he was talking to the haitian guy about Eden's father) It seems that he really cared about Eden :(

Mr. Bennett is wonderful. He is so smarmy and evil, it just works for him. Him and his glasses come across all helpful and sincere, but he's really kinda deadly...lol

I usually feel that I can't stand this guy. He reminds me of a villian from the X-files. He never yells or raises his voice. He just kind of talks in this pleasant whisper about taking away your free will and smiles and cleans his glasses.
Then on the other end of the spectrum seeing him fighting for Claire and Claire's safety... And I love their father/daughter dynamic.
So definately a love/hate relationship with this character.
I wonder what organization he's working for.
I guess his relationship with Claire is going to suffer since Haitian guy gave her the heads up.
Novak Fan
12-21-2006, 08:28 PM
yep, that's what I like about him, that he cares about Claire a lot, even if his actions aren't in the right way. I wonder why he didn't erase Claire's mind when he found the videotape? or Zach's mind for that matter...
ginnyfan
12-21-2006, 08:31 PM
He did erase Zach's mind. He didn't know what she was talking about.

I mean before...MR. Bennet knew about the tape that Zach and Claire were making but he didn't make a move...just after Homecoming

He reminds me of those freaky killers from crime shows (Law + Order, CSI etc.) the ones that just sit there with an evil smile on there face while there getting interrogated. I don't know whether to hate him or not... I suppose I'm leaning more to the hate side since what he did to Zach...
Novak Fan
01-03-2007, 03:34 PM
yeah I was neutral with him too and them the Zach thing happened and I think "this man is so mean!" buuut then I read the Online comic and he truly cared about Eden so I'm neutral again

The novelsa say that he works for the CIA.
Novak Fan
01-05-2007, 08:44 PM
really? mmm still I haven't read all the online comics but I'm sure that he saids to Matt that he doesn't work for any of those places: CIA, FBI and that kind. But well, maybe he was lying ;)
Another-One
01-06-2007, 02:46 AM
Linderman = Bad guy/Villianous leader the likes of Kingpin or Lex Luthor
Mr. Bennet = Someone who isnt really a hero but isnt a villian either. He works for the greater good.
In other words.
Mr. Bennet = someone like Ultimate Nick Fury(comic fans know what Im talking about).
Mr. Bennet does not work for Linderman.
My guess? Mr. Bennet like Nick Fury is a high ranking agent for the government.

01-09-2007, 06:53 AM
Maybe he use to work for the CIA and then founmd out about all these people so he joined a watchers type organization (Highlander the Series). I find it interesting that he does not seem to be afraid of these people with powers at all. And when Claire was being interrogated Matt could not hear anything because there was a static. Weird thing is the Haitian guy was not around which leads to believe the static that caused Matt not to hear was actually being caused by HRG.
Novak Fan
01-09-2007, 04:57 PM
the haitian guy ( God, this guy have actually a name?) was outside of the room. I think that HRG is not afraid because he feels safe with the Haitian always around.

the haitian guy ( God, this guy have actually a name?) was outside of the room. I think that HRG is not afraid because he feels safe with the Haitian always around.
The Hatian was outside the room at the police station interrogation.
However, The Hatian was not outside the room the first two times that HRG went into Sylar's jail-cell.
I find it interesting that he does not seem to be afraid of these people with powers at all.
And when Claire was being interrogated Matt could not hear anything because there was a static. Weird thing is the Haitian guy was not around which leads to believe the static that caused Matt not to hear was actually being caused by HRG.
Another thing too, that I noticed, and haven't heard many of folks bring up, is that when HRG first went in to visit Sylar in the cell, the Hatian "WAS NOT" standing on the other side of the wall.
I recorded the show when it was replayed lastweek, and rewatched all of the Sylar-cell scenes closely...because I think it will become evident in the future that HRG has some kind of blocking-powers power.
In rewatching the scene, (and you can also rewatch it streaming online at NBC's Heroes site (http://www.nbc.com/Video/rewind/full_episodes/heroes.shtml) or from the written transcripts at:
http://www.kilohoku.com/transcripts/heroes/heroes-1X11.html
(search the transcript on 'SYLAR’S CELL' to get to that part.)
What happens, is that HRG goes into the cell without the Hatian being around, and starts his convo by telling Sylar his powers work work here....then when he leaves, he meets Eden in the outer-hallway. As they begin to walk down it, away from the cell, Eden then makes her offer to kill Sylar. As they continue down the hallway away from the cell, they get to the end, and just as they are finishing their conversation, and start to walk through the door, the Hatian comes through from the other direction.
The Hatian had not been anywhere near the cell when HRG was in there with Sylar.
So either 1 of 2 likely thinks happened:
1) The cell had 'power-blocking features'; and HRG had no powers, but was just lucky enough to go in there 'twice' before Sylar was able to figure out how to circumnavigate them; and by the time Eden came in for the 3rd visit, Sylar had figured out how to bust through the glass.
or
2) The cell was inert or featureless, and HRG has a yet-revealed power-block feature that prevented Sylar from using his powers around HRG....but not around Eden later when she was alone.
Just some thoughts.

Mmmm...interesting theory. I was thinking though that maybe the haitian it's so powerful that he doesn't need to be SO close to HRG or any person for that mather to have his powers working. Maybe his power can work in a very wide kilometer. Still I don't think that HRG have powers ;)

Man HRG gets no love on the boards...he is my favorite charachter on the show. He rocks the entire duel life, come on he loves his family but has so much responsibility that he has to make impossible choices!
If you were in the position of hrg's and could help your wife with a trumatic experience (ala Sylar) would you do it differently?
I dont think that he new the hatian's ability would cause the damage that it has by the way.

Okay..I said the same damn thing...great minds think alike.:p..the response I got from my husband was.."Alicia, just knowing that came out of your mouth disturbs me, that is his daughter, he isnt looking at her in any other way!" I dont say anymore about the daddy/cheerleader thing anymore :p
But yes he is a very interesting character, not to mention hot hot hot!!! I didnt know about him at first but now he is my favorite character. I love how he is kinda evil/creepy. But I definetly agree there is a look he gives when he is looking at Claire.

Besides we learn that the characters in Heroes haven't black and white personalities, HRG is a good example. He didn't want baby Claire but later he was protecting her. And I LOVE what he did after Eden died :( The " Leave the guilt" was priceless. That was in the graphic novel btw :p

I liked his character from the begining.
He is probably the most real person of them all. The world isnt black and white and his character represents that.
He isnt the good guy. He isnt the bad guy. He just wanted to protect his family. He still does...

It kinda seems to me like Mr. Bennet has some sort of precognition that is limited to local events up to 5 minutes in the future, or maybe a form of ESP.
After all, how else did he know all the specific details to tell Matt when they were prisoners? This also fits how he knew that Thompson would sneak up on Matt in this last episode.
I dunno, just an idea I've been playing with, so I figured I'd throw it out there..

I dont know why I didnt think to start this before! All my HRG talk usually bores people..at least in here I know that wont happen :rotfl:
I cant wait till Monday to see what happens with him! The man is the greatest!!!
I think this is my first post in this forum, and I'm glad that my first post is for HRG!!!!!
I'm a huge fan for the character and the actor. He obviously enjoys this character, he is great as HRG! I like HRG because he is not a one dimensional character. He is both a bad (murderer), and a good (loving father) person. And Jack Coleman pulls it off without being cheesy.
He is the most interesting character on Heroes thanks to him.
I really really hope he stays on the show forever. It would break my heart if they let him go before the end of the show. I might think not to watch it if he goes.
So please, don't kill HRG. Save HRG, save the world!

I don't know what, but there is something different about him.
I watched the nexr week's promo, there was nothing about HRG! This makes me angry! We already have just 2 episodes left, not enough HRG! I hope the union and the bosses reach and agreement about the strike. Otherwise we'll have to wait until January 2009 or sometime like that.

Thats what I like about him too..that there is something different about him!! There is just something there..I mean I remember the first episode of season one..and I was in love! :rotfl:
I saw that and I am not liking that AT ALL!! :( Hopefully he will be in the one on December 3rd then. I mean we need something to hold us over! That is sooooo gonna suck if this strike goes on for a long time. I honestly dont know what I will do with myself..go insane Im sure! I wonder if there isnt anymore until 2009 if they will just put out these first episodes of season 2 on DVD or not?? I hope so! I will need that at least to watch over and over again! :p
I think they will just put out these first episodes of season 2 on DVD if the strike doesn't get a resolution. I hope it does!!! 11 episodes are definitely not enough for a whole season. :\
They will meet again on 26th of November. Fingers crossed!!! :D

Could we perhaps not have the "omg check out this picture" posts to the Jack Coleman thread?
I'm not trying to be mean, its just getting a little awkward being the only guy in this thread...
The Fan club is for total apreciation of the character of HRG and his utter awesomeness. While apart of that may be his physical atractiveness to the womenfolk, if those posts dominate the thread I fear other guys will be put off from joining.

Oh, I watched some episodes of Dynasty when I was 8-9 years old! :rotfl: I vaguely remember any of it. When I first read that Jack Coleman was on Dynasty playing one of the first gay characters on TV, I was surprised and did a search, then I found these pictures:

I have no idea who he was back then!
Don't you think he is hotter right now? I can't believe HRG and Steve Carrington is the same guy. I don't see any similarity between them.

I was around 10 I think when Dynasty was on  But I did read that too, about him being the first to play a gay character on a tv series. I didnt know who he was back then either!
Your right, I dont see any similarities at all between those two characters he has played.
Whenever he is on a talk show, he is always asked a question about his Dynasty days. He looks embaressed all the time.:D

Interesting info on Coleman
So, I think that Cautionary Tales might rival Company Man in levels of HRG Awesomeness present. Way to many amazing things happened in that episode with the man in horn rimmed glasses. (He even made West likeable! After beating him up, of course.)
Yes, I agree, last episode was the best episode since Company Man. The reason they both rocked is because they are both HRG episodes. I loved the parts when he easily beat up Mohinder and West. He is unstopable when he thinks his family is in danger. :)

Really..he was on the View and I missed it!! :( I will check out those links later..Thanks! :)
You guys are right...both those episodes were my favorite..and all because they both centered around HRG. I mean Company Man is still #1 to me, but Cautionary Tales did have some epic HRG moments!! He just seems to get cooler every episode! I love how bada** he gets when he needs to be. I honestly could watch both those episodes over and over again..and I do! :p

So, what is everyone's favorite HRG moment?
Some personal candidates:
Getting shot in Company Man
Orchestrating a break-out in one of the highest security facilities in the world in... that one that came after Company Man. :\
Taking out Thompson in Part 2 of the Finale
Taking down West (and reforming him into a likeable character!) in Cautionary Tales
Visciously taking down Mohinder in Cautionary Tales
Getting shot in both Company Man and Cautionary Tales. (The man knows how to do it!)
I like the way he beat up West! I agree with you, he made West loveable by beating him up!!!!
The way he worked on Mohinder's nose, it was just great...
Well, the escape from Company facility was a little bit over the top. Because he just gave instructions, he didn't move a finger. HRG can not trust another person that easily...
Actually all of the HRG moments in Company Man are my favorites. When he hold Claire for the first time, I just fell in love with them! :)
I know, killing is bad. But he is still cool while killing people. I said to myself "HRG is back!", when he killed Ivan.

Oh this is tough..I really need to think about this one :rotfl: I have so many moments I loved!!
I guess my all time fave moment was...well ..all of Company Man! No, I loved the end..when he got shot and said " I love you Claire Bear!" I just loved him in that whole episode, every scene with him in it he rocked!!
I also loved it when he shot Thompson and then this season when he shot Ivan! Damn..why do I find him hot when he is shooting people in the head!? :rotfl:
And then in Cautionary Tales I loved it when he brought Elle back and tied her up, that line when he said..."Stings like a B*tch doesnt it"!! That was one of my fave lines from him ever!!
I also loved it when he shot Thompson and then this season when he shot Ivan!
Yes! How could I forget that?
"Your last thought!" Bam!
Damn..why do I find him hot when he is shooting people in the head!?
I know...Same here! I think there is something wrong with us! :rotfl:
I loved him whne he beat up West and Mohinder! He is also hot when he is kicking and beating! :D

So, it seems most of our favorite moments with HRG concern him shooting people.
Might this continue if that brown-haired man we saw walking away from Nathan be Noah as well?
I don't think he shot Nathan, why would Bob use him for this? I think he has more important plans for HRG, he wouldn't risk him.
I believe Nathan's going to be back. Well, I don't care if he is the shooter or not, I'll probably continue to like him. :) But I think non-HRG fans will hate him, that's for sure...
A nice behind the scenes pic. I miss Eden..:\

Yes but Bob is not stupid, he' probably got a good plan. I still don't get it though, what kind of an evil organization is this? Its fate is connected to just one man?
The Ninth Doctor
12-25-2007, 07:02 PM
I think Bob is the last big guy left. Only he, Angela, and Maury are still alive, and Maury is Public Enemy #1, and Angela doesn't seem to interested in running things. And HRG already took out their next in line, Thompson, a while ago. The only people that could take over would be other HRG and Ivan level guys around the world, and they probably wouldn't be talented enough to handle the entire company.
The real problem I see HRG running into if he takes out Bob is Mohinder. He seems poised to take over.
No more middle management for HRG. I think he'll become the big boss if he takes out Bob. Do you think Mohinder can stand up to him?
The Ninth Doctor
12-28-2007, 12:03 PM
HRG taking over the company and using it for good? That would be a cool plotline. It looks like (if he survives) Nathan would join up as well, and bring Pete and Matt with him.
Or maybe he can go back to be a really evil person. I mean, he wasn't working for the Company for some time and he still continued to kill people.
I totally agree about this plotline. It would be fun to watch.
BTW, did you read the last graphic novel? I've read some posts, many people think that it's one of the best. HRG shows how much a badass he is...I really liked it.
The Ninth Doctor
12-28-2007, 12:42 PM
Definately one of the best. Either this or the one where HRG visits Eden's parents is my favorite.
I mean come on, you've got:
HRG awesomeness
The Return of Eden
And Elle VS Mr. Muggles, the most anticipated fight of the year!
I really don't want HRG to become evil, just because I've invested so much in the goodness of the character. Way, way back before Company Man, I spent alot of time convincing my friends that he was the Good Guy, regardless of his spying on Claire and Mohinder, that he was working for the greater good and for his daughter's protection. So for me, during the events of the series at least, he's always been the good guy. Though for me only recently did he become the protagonist.
Yes, HRG visiting Eden's father, that was a classic too. In those novels, HRG is highly emotional. He is an emotional man when it comes to his family, but we never see him care about other people in the series.
Well, I was one the people who thought HRG was the ultimate evil. :) He is not a good guy in the classic sense, and that's what makes him the most interesting character on the show.
I learned an interesting fact from Heroes wiki, it said that Noah Bennet appeared in more graphic novels than any other character. That's got to mean something...

HRG was an awesome premise at first. I loved his bad-ass-ness from the beginning of the show. Now he's just a broken record. "Don't touch my family!" wah, wah, wah.
Get out there and whoop some ass, Noah. Don't play bondage games with old men and shoot them in the head.

That old man was a Company Man. Killing that guy is a proof that he is still a badass.
And he was obsessed with his family from the beginning of the show. I love these things about him. One minute he is a cold blooded murderer, the other minute he is a loving guy. ;) Well, his obsession for Claire-bear is a little bit unhealthy...
Jack Coleman says the same things in this latest interview.

And the Company made him kick ass. Now he just whines about his family. That pisses me off.
I'm glad he's back with the Company, even if he has to be forced to stay. It's where he belongs.
I loved when he yelled, "Mohinder, get back here, you son of a b!tch!" That reminded me of the old Noah Bennett right there.
The Ninth Doctor

He whines about his family, and then kicks traitorous scum who try and kill him in the face. And then tortures his old bosses daughter. And then goes on to shoot her, and would have killed the father, had it not been for previously mentioned tratouous scum.
Yes, I'm too glad that he is back with the Company. The Comapny recruited him because they knew that he is a badass.
And he's back with it because he made a deal to protect his family. Will Bob keep his promise? Will HRG become a more badass? I can't wait to see.

Have you guys read the latest graphic novel (http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/novels/index.shtml?novel=74), "Blindsided?" We learn why Bennet needs the HRGs.
This gn is one of the best but I think it messes up this character's background story, at least a little bit. Remember the original scene? He told Claire that his eyesight problem was hereditary. But obvioulsy HRG is very popular among those gn artists so we can expect more background story messing up.
Raissa
03-03-2008, 01:05 PM
Granted, they've changed things, but it's a change that can be explained. We can assume that HRG simply didn't tell Claire the whole truth in that original scene.
Now that's an interesting idea. HRG lies all the time, so it wouldn't be surprising if he lied about that too. But I believe he was sincere in that particular scene. He wasn't really planning to tell Claire that she was adopted, at least at that moment. So, why would he lie about that?
Raissa
03-03-2008, 01:51 PM
Even if he wasn't lying, it still fits. It could very well be that there were hereditary vision problems in his family. But, it just so happened that Grigsby got him first, and he used the hereditary problems as a smokescreen.
XSE_Greystone
10-01-2008, 11:37 PM
My friend kind of pointed out to me how he thought HRG had/has a power if you read the online comic where you see him have to get glasses. Cause he kept saying how he had really good eye sight and then the guy who could get really bright kind of scarred his eyes forcing him to get glasses. So i wonder if he just had good eye sight or was it an actual ability. Then after thinking about that i wondered after HRG got shot and had Claire's blood infused in him it would have healed any scar tissue making his eye sight back to normal.
Raissa
10-02-2008, 08:31 AM
Either he's kept the glasses as an intimidation tool and doesn't really need them, or Claire's blood only healed the most pressing injury which was death, leaving his eyesight unchanged.
