How did the crystal tell Zor-el how to find Lionel? Or even who Lionel was?

Supposedly - Lionel lost his connection to Jor-el. But, that storyline appearently has been changed. Even accepting YET ANOTHER inconsistency.. how could Kara's crystal know about the link that Jor-el created years ago?

How did the crystal know where Lionel was? Does Kara even know about Lionel?

I am so confused...

if i head to guess lionel might have been sending out a signal similar to how manhunter was able to find him to begin with. lionel lost his connection with jor el i believe as in jor el cant talk thru him and give him powers but lionel still has knowledge of the memories that were installed into his head. also lionel lost the connection when the fortress died so he may have been semi recharged with jor els essance when clark recharged the fortress.

but ya that is one thing i didnt understand is how was zor el able to know so much about what was going on now adays. maybe once the blue crystal was stuck in the fortress it downloaded the earths memories and he was able to learn everything that has happened on earth.

yeah, that whole crystal telling zor-el everything was pretty convenient for the plot.

hrmm maybe Zor-el knew about the fortress Jor-el was making before krypton blew up. They were in a sense rivals. I know i would keep up with everything my rival is currently doing. To either a: out do them with something else. b: figure out a way to thwart him so he can come out on top by any means necessary. C: take whatever it is he is doing and bend it to fit his needs. to me it appears Zor-el did all of that in this episode in one extreme or another.

So in other words, the Els are the Luthors of Krypton?

Jor-El didn't make the fortress. The stones made the fortress and they were hidden on Earth way before Jor-El was even born. They were undisturbed in the artifacts they were placed in until Lex, Lionel, and Isobel broke them out (shamefully Clark found none of them).

So the FOS was public knowledge for generations of House of El members. Zor-El thought of an evil way to exploit it. Even though it wasn't the original Zor-El who would take over Earth, this is what the original Zor-El wanted. So the will of the original Zor-El comes fully composed with flesh. This is similar to the original Jor-El and how his will was to guide Clark. The difference is that the original Jor-El did not make his will come fully composed with a body. He instead programmed his will into Clark's ship. The explosion of the ship sent his will into the caves (I believe the cave is where the energy coming out of the ship in Exodus was collected), and then from the cave, it went into the stones as they were unified at the altar into the crystal that formed the FOS once all 3 stones were placed. But I think Lionel intercepted the humane portion of Jor-El's will which I believe was to activate after the stones were unified (it happened when 2/3 stones were placed in the altar and Lionel had the 3rd in his pocket in Commencement).

My best guess as to how Zor-El found Lionel is that the crystal led him to the Jor-El AI that is inside Lionel by sending a tone just like Clark heard in Rosetta (with the key), in Crusade, Transference, Sacred, and Commencement (with the stones), and in Fallout (when Raya drew Baern to the FOS).

I am very sure Lionel still has the AI in him. He's able to read & write Kryptonian now (as we saw in Zod and other episodes of season 6 even after he said his connection was lost), something he could only do when he was in a trance in season 5.

why then did baern refer to it as jor-el's famed fortress of knowledge?

im thinking b/c he used crystals from the fortress on krypton to make it possible to reconstruct the fortress on earth, so it's basically the same fortress.
