Lionel once told Clark (or someone) that Jor-El's spirit left his body. Now Lionel pretty much reaffirmed that Jor-El is still within him - by knowing who Zor-El was (by name). Any thoughts? Am I wrong?

Jor-El possessed Lionel at the end of the fourth season, I think, with Lionel and Lex fighting over some crystal and Lionel getting a Kryptonian power surge that possessed him into scribbling on the floor of the Luthor mansion all these different Kryptonian symbols and prophecying (sp?) the coming of Zod. Once Lionel stopped being possessed, he simply served as Jor-El's vessel. But Jor-El is no longer in Lionel, since he's no longer possessed. He just has some inside knowledge now...

Yes, but didn't Lionel once say that all of the knowledge went with Jor-El's spirit when it left. Wasn't that an excuse Lionel gave someone once?

Lionel in Phantom said he is Jor-El's emissary. So Jor-El somehow communicated through him again. And it was different when he was his emissary than when he was just an oracle because he can now read Kryptonian.

That part is indeed a lie. I recall he did say all that knowledge left him, then what, right after he was writing Kryptonian symbols?

Lionel may not be totally honest with Clark, but neither is Clark with him. Still, they need each other to some degree.

Right! We were left to believe that when Jor-El left Lionel - that Lionel did not have any knowledge of what he had learned. Maybe it was Jor-El telling lies through Lionel so that Clark can continue his training. Either that or Lionel is up to no good.
