Okay, just wondering but is there any Region 2 copies of the single dvds available? You know the ones where 'Pilot' & 'Metamorphosis' was released as a feature-length and the 'For your Recommendation' dvds too?? Id love Region 2 copies of them. And has the original version of 'Pilot' ever been released on DVD? (You know the one that had Cynthia Ettinger(or whatever her name was) as Martha? :) That would of being a cool feature on Season 1 dvd with Commentary from the producers as to why they recast etc. . .

Does anybody knows when is it going to be realised on DVD
season 3 of Smallville?I heard that the studio plans to realise it in September, but I am not so sure about that.
September is when Season 4 begins, and it would be a great time to realise the season 3 DVD.So,any official word yet on this expected DVD?

I couldn't figure out what thread to put this in, and so if this is wrong, please forgive me. I am very confused.
I just got the season 2 DVD. I can not find on any of the DVD's, the deleted scenes for "Heat" and "Duplicity". I am not sure if they are missing or i just haven't been capable of finding them.
It would be helpful to know where they are, on what disk, and if anyone has found this problem.
Sharkie

All the deleted scenes are on their episode's disc. In this case Disc #1. Click on features. Since there are a lot of features on the disc there is a little arrow at the bottom which will take you to the deleted scenes.

I'm one those foolish people who missed getting into Smallville on the ground floor, and I've been playing catch-up with the DVD sets for the past week. My job never left me with time to watch TV, but now that I set my own hours I'll be able to watch it this fall, and I'd really like to get into Season 4 having seen Season 3. Since it doesn't looks like the DVD set will be released in time, I'm in the boat with those hoping some of you wiser people who did get into it sooner had the foresight to tape it. Please PM me if any of you can help me out. Thanks!

hey i gotta question...assuming that you have the smallville dvds..for the second season, there are 2 discs that have 2 commentaries. is there a way to get to the second one with tom welling? it says that there are two commentaries, but only gives you the option of the first. please email back!

I'm an avid eBayer, but sometimes I go to Amazon.com and buy something "new or used." It's kind of like eBay, except it's not an auction and the transaction is handled just like any Amazon.com transaction. You can get some pretty smashing deals there. I got seasons 1 and 2 of Smallville together for $59 plus $2.50 shipping, which is cheaper than one season on its own in some stores.

Yeah, I'd check out Amazon's marketplace or Wal-Mart.com *which sometimes actually keeps things in stock ha* I just don't have good luck on eBay for bargains.. you know, since it's selling to whomever pays the most.. plus there's "shipping sharks" *just made that up.. hehe* who'll make up their profits on shipping charges alone.. good luck and be careful!

Definately. I know I wont get much studying done that week.
First thing I'll do is see the commentaries which are like 10 in total. Actually the first thing I'll do is that I'll check BtVS for the hidden egg. Oh and the Season overview. I love those. Then I'll see some episodes with commentaries.
One problem with the SMV set is that there arent any Tom commentaries. :( I hope he plans on doing some for the season 4 dvd set.

i know about two weeks later finals hit for me :(. like you i'll watch the btvs first, and then go to SV. but they both have outtake reels :).....i love the bloopers. i wonder which episodes were goofed up. i think btvs and sv fans are so lucky that we get so many special features, and we are kinda spoiled when it comes to dvds. Pete is gone! Oh no. Are you sure? Who will be Clark's best friend that he can confide in? Pete, besides his folks, was the only one who knew his secret... Does that mean that someone else will learn his secret? Or will he just be on his own about his secret now? Boy, questions, questions, questions?
DarkClone
08-31-2004, 05:46 PM
Well, I don't think this is supposed to be in this section, but Pete left in the second to last episode of Season 3, he couldn't handle knowing Clark's secret and being near him, it was too dangerous(an FBI agent nearly killed him trying to find out about Clark) . . .
And now . . . Back to the Season 3 DVD

Hi, been a while since I have been here but I am looking for some help. The episode 'Red' says it has 2 different commentarys. When I go into features I can see the 1 commentary by the producers but I cant find the 2nd commentary by Tom, Kristen and Micheal. Is this one of those 'easter eggs' that I never can figure out? I am using an XBOX to veiw the DVD's if that matters.
Fenice

Its not one of the easter eggs. Ok, go to the screen where you can access the 1st commentary, at the bottom of the screen you can see that it says MAIN MENU followed by an arrow. Highlight or select or whatever the arrow and press enter and the second commentary should appear. I dont know how these things work with an Xbox but I think you can still find it. :)
Edit: So many typos.

I have a question. I thought that the sniper episode was in season 2 but it's not on the discs. It's probably in season 3...I just don't know if it's in season 3 or if it's a lost episode. Can somebody tell me what season it was in? It's one of my favorite episodes...

Sniper Episode? Was that the one with the guy who was killing off the meteor freaks? And shot Clark with a Kryptonite made bullet. If it was, that was 3rd season, 3rd episode. It was called Extinction.

I have seen nothing of season 3 yet!! :( Exodus is the last one i saw. Smallville just isn't that populair here. So when the 3rd season comes on DVD i'm the first to buy it.
I really hope they put subtitles with the audiocommentary, because sometimes i really don't understand what they're saying.

Guys,
I just got the best deal on my season three set. I work for a Blockbuster Video. In the computer for some reason, the season three set of Smallville came up at $29.99. I also get 20% off. So I pre-ordered a copy for myself , and I only had to pay 23 bucks. So now I am getting season three on DVD for less than 25 bucks. I am so happy right now!!

Wow, I'll have to check my local Blockbuster to see if I can get the 29.99 price on a pre-order.
If not, other stores will hopefully offer it the same price as they did Season 2 the first week of release... between $35 and $40

I highly suggest that you get those pre-orders in now at your local Blockbuster while the price stays at $29.99. I have seen times like this, where an item started out at a lower price, and then corrected itself when it got closer to the street date. But the cool thing is that, as long as you pay the entire 29 bucks on the pre-order, Blockbuster has to give it to you at that price no matter what the price is later on.

As far as the cost, I called Best Buy and asked them about it. They thought they would probably put it on sale at around $35 for the first week like they did for the other two seasons. I am counting on this and will pick it up then.
You could also look at walmart.com and circuitcity.com for some competition of Best Buy. Sometimes, you can find it better at one of those.
A couple of weeks ago, I could have pre-ordered it for $35 from columbiahouse.com. I am a member of their club, and can get good discounts on DVD's from there. However, that price is higher now, so I will probably have to go with the Best Buy route.

On what disc of season two is the commentary by the actors? And what's on the disc that's accesible only from a computer? I couldn't get anything to come up when I put in in the 'puter. Is that where the actor's commentary is located?
BrentC007

the commentary for "Red" is on the first disc, the commentary for "Rosetta" is on the fifth disc.

Sorry, I tried several times again this morning and while the booklet lists the actors commentaries immediately after the producers commentaries, the disc itself comes up with only the producer's commentaries. There is no listing for anything else on the DVD itself for either Red or Rosetta. SHouldn't that appear under "features" initially?. Nor have I been able to get the ROM info to come up on my computer.

at the bottom of the commentary page where you see the big dudes commentary option are two options. I can't remember the words, maybe it says "Main Menu", but the second one (which I myself overlooked several times, sooo unlike me) is a ">" arrow. Click it to get to more Special Features. Ta-daaa!

Thank-you! It worked and I would never have figured that out! I watched and found the actors comments, especially for Rosetta, especially interesting. If you know someone or have a membership at any of the wholesale clubs(Costco,Sam's, BJ's) you might be able to find them there for under $40
You might want to also wait for the week of November 16th when the third season is released on DVD, chances at places like Best Buy and Circuit City will have deals where if you buy all three seasons.. or atleast buy two, you'll save.
Be sure to check the Sunday ads the Sunday before the 16th.
Hope this helps :)

Hey Guys check out this news.
DVD extras include:
* Audio commentary on three episodes by the show's producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and cast members Michael Rosenbaum, Allison Mack and John Glover.
* Producing Smallville: The Heroes Behind The Camera -- a behind-the-scenes featurette.
* The Chloe Chronicles: Volume II -- Webisodes from Season 3.
* Unaired scenes with optional commentary.
* Gag reel.
* Easter Egg -- cast member Michael Rosenbaum interviews one of the crew as they role play a DVD executive.
* DVD-ROM capabilities with link to Smallville website.
I missed the entire third season, so I am looking forward to getting this box set. I did read the transcripts of the episodes so I could watch season 4.
I let my friend borrow Season 1, it came back disheveled. He was lucky I let him borrow Season 2. I gave it to him in individual cases, the punk.
All this talk about getting the DVD at better prices. I thought Amazon was considered as having the best prices.
No?
BrentC007

Where ever I end up buying it, I want to make sure they have a good exchange policy. With season 2, I had to exchange it because 3 discs had popped out of the case and were scratched.
I'm just hoping WBHV learned their lesson from last time and packaged these discs better to avoid that problem.

I'd really appreciate it if those of you who did order through Amazon keep the orders... I rely on those orders to stay afloat to keep KryptonSite the best SV website there could be for you... if you go to Best Buy etc. obviously you can't do that.
Also, Amazon often sends stuff a few days early sometimes... another bonus.

If I'm not mistaken, only John Glover and Allison Mack will do commentary on "Truth", while Rosenbaum does commentary with Beeman on "Memoria" and possibly "Phoenix" or "Exile"
It's a shame Welling and other cast members didn't do commentary this time around. KK didn't contribute much to the season 2 commentaries, but Welling and Rosenbaum were great.. and it would be great to hear from JS and AOT as well.
I know it's early, but I'm already hoping for a TW/JG/MR commentary track for "Transference" on the Season 4 DVD set :D

Damn....I wanted to hear AM, MR and TW; on the other hand AM/JG should provide in depth commentary. And TW not doing ANY is a complete shame. KK's non-contribution in commentaries only mirrors Lana's contribution in some of her scenes.

I'm looking forward to hearing Allison Mack and John Glover. I wish they had been on the season 2 commentaries.. especially Allison. She could have filled in when KK wasn't talking. It would have also been fun to hear commentary from her on "Rush"
As for Season 3, it's too bad Rosenbaum and Glover aren't doing commentary together for "Memoria"

I know! Below the option it does give you, there are arrows that surround the word "menu" and you should click on the arrow that points to the right. I would never have figured it out if someone hadn't told me! Run- - with Tom and Kyle Gallner
Transference- - with whole cast
Jinxed- - Tom and Allison Mack
Spell- - with Kristen Kreuk, Erica, and Allison

Interview with Alfred Gough and Miles Millar on Smallville, 4 years later.
Interview with Jeph Loeb on Smallville on TV and Smallville characters in the Superman comics.
A segment with the gurls' costumer/clothier. Same for the guys.
A segment with the FX crew
ANY segment focusing on Allison Mack....A Day in the Life style look at what she does on set
A Smallville High School Senior yearbook with bios of students
A tribute to Christopher Reeves

If you're a member of a wholesale club like Sam's Club, BJ's or Costco.. they have carried them as well.

If your wife is not opposed to this, you might think about getting it right when it comes out and then just letting her say that is from her for Christmas. I mean, it will be a good bit cheaper when it first comes out.....all the others were.
I think it will be like $35 at Best Buy when it comes out.

I got my set for $23.99 because I work at a Blockbuster Video, and I pre-ordered my set when the price was $29.99 and when you take off my 20% discount, it comes out to about 24 bucks. Sometimes with DVD box sets, the computer has the item priced at the base wholesale price, and then does not correct to the retail price until a few weeks before the set is due to come out. I got my order in before the computer corrected so I managed to find a loophole.
Now if I wanted to, I could get my set as early as Tuesday November 9th because all sale items usually arrive one week early prior to the street date. But I will probably just wait until the 16th so there is no chance of breaking any street date laws.
Kryptonite Junke,
All I can say is that it was a dumb idea to post on here that you already have the set and provide proof of it. If there is anyone that can enforce punishment for violating street date laws going over these threads, and they can tie you to breaking those laws, you are going to be in big trouble, along with whoever sold you the set.

Kryptonite Junkie, that's awesome that you got yours early! I'm jealous. Also, who cares if he got it early. It doesn't necessarily mean he got it illegally. Well, enjoy...can't wait for next Tuesday when I get my copy!

Awesome, man.. glad you got it early.
For the rest of us.. the 16th can't get here fast enough.
Sad thing is.. this will be the last Smallville DVD we'll be buying until like.. the same time next year or early 2006.

I was not trying to make you feel bad.
But I thought it was best to be honest with you. I am not saying this because I am jealous. Sure I am happy that you got yours early. But for the sake of the person that you got it from, and for your sake, the last thing you should be doing is giving proof to those that enforce street date laws. You have got to be more careful man. I am pretty sure that the last thing the person who got the set for you early would want, is for you to go on a public message board and announce it to everyone. It is true that you did not give a name, but if people look hard enough, they can tie the person to you.

question for all you DVD'ers.
I've never pre-order the DVD until now.
I've always went to the store the day it came out.
For those that have pre-ordered do you get your DVD's on time? Early? Late?

Spoon,
If you do it on Amazon, there have been a few times where stuff I ordered showed up early. Most of the time, it shows up on the day of the street date, or a few days after depending on the speed of shipping you went with.

Does anyone else think that tagline on the left sounds really cheesey?
"JOR-EL TO EARTH: GIVE ME BACK MY SON!"
It reminds of that movie "Ransom" with Mel Gibson where he spazzes out and yells "GIVE ME BACK MY SON!!!"
Aslan
11-12-2004, 12:31 PM
That does kind of sound cheesey.
Oh well, at least we know the shows on the DVD's are going to be good.
On the special features on the other discs, I think the producers/directors spent all their energy on the actual show(which is fine), and ran out of energy when they had to put some special features on there.
Spoon AZ
11-12-2004, 12:47 PM
yeah could be.
At least Season 3 has the chunkiest amount of extra features so far.
I hope the gag reel is longer and better too.
Aslan
11-12-2004, 12:48 PM
It needs to be.
That is really the best thing.
I know I am going to get crucified for saying this, but I thought the Chloe Chronicles on the Season Two special features was horribly cheesey!

yeah the only thing I liked about it was it fleshed out the Jitters story a little more. That was cool. But the production and acting was really kinda lame.

actually, the gag reel is not that funny really....well not as funny as the one on the season two dvd....there is no tom welling outtakes....it's just basically michael, kristen, and allison....nothing really to write home to mom about...
though, the behind the scenes featurette was really good....it's nice to see what happens behind the scenes and what everyone does...the featurette just made me want to be on that set so much more and see all the fun that goes on....they all seem so happy and get along like one big happy family....

You want to talk about frustrating, listen to this.
I work at a Blockbuster Video and my copy arrived today. However, I have to let it set there until Tuesday so that I don't break the street date laws. I actually bought season two a week early when it came out, and I got in trouble for it. They never told any of us that we could not buy things early. I assumed it was OK since we get to rent the new movies a week early, and I thought the same appiled to purchasing things. Well, let me tell you that it doesn't. So this time, I have to let my season three DVD set sit there until Tuesday.

Umm, sorry if this has been asked, but...
On the "Red" commentary with Greg Beeman, TW, MR and KK--one of them does an excellent Gollum impression. You know, "The ring, precious! The little hobbitses..." My question is... who did that? Was it Greg? Michael? Tom?
I really would like to find out, since it was pretty funny. Thanks to anyone who can help!
i luv tom welling

Where did you order it from that you got it already?!?!
Damn I wish mine got here. I just bumped up my shipping and handling to ensure it was here on Tuesday.
I started to get nervous it wouldn't show up until the weekend or something even though I ordered it weeks ago.
Pre-Ordering is worthless. I bought the first two the day they came out. I wanted to try pre-ordering to see if it was easier and if I got it earlier. Not doing this again
